Thomas Webster, a decorated US Marine Veteran, 20 Year NYPD Police Officer, Husband and Father of three turned himself in to authorities in October 2022 to serve the longest sentence that a Judge has handed to a J6 Defendant to date at that time – 10 Years! The Justice Department's handling of January 6th cases has been criticized for its heavy-handed tactics, perceived political bias, and disregard for civil liberties. As of today over 1,500 individuals had been arrested, including many non-violent offenders, raising concerns about the proportionality and fairness of the department's actions. Many of those arrested for January 6th-related charges face accusations of non-violent offenses, such as trespassing, unlawful entry, or disorderly conduct. Despite the absence of violence in their alleged actions, the Justice Department has deployed heavily armed SWAT teams to conduct arrests—measures typically reserved for high-risk individuals. These aggressive operations have disrupted families and communities, leading critics to accuse the DOJ of overreach and prioritizing political messaging over the principles of justice.Trennis Evans, is a January 6th Expert, he pled guilty to one misdemeanor charge of entering a restricted building & he is forced to serve out his sentence in jail where he is held in solitary confinement for a few days at a time. Veteran's Day is a day of remembrance and gratitude. Join us today with special guest Justin LaPree, a decorated US Marine Veteran and a former Austin, Texas firefighter who has found healing and hope. After returning home from the Middle East, he struggled with a TBI, PTSD, and survivor's guilt, enduring everything from homelessness to opioid dependence. In 2018, he attempted suicide in the parking lot of his Austin, Texas, fire station. After his failed attempt, a friend suggested he read Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind. After several experiences with sacred fungi and plant medicines, Justin's lost memories resurfaced, his suicidal ideation ceased, his PTSD diminished, and along the way, he rediscovered the truest form of himself. After 15 years of losing friends to suicide, Justin was determined to create a safe and sacred container for healing, connection, and transformation. In 2022, he founded Heroic Path to Light, a Texas-based nonprofit entheogenic church serving the veteran, first responder, and Gold/White star communities. Heroic Path to Light is currently guiding a courageous group of ten female veterans through a transformative 25-week program, with a pivotal week-long in-person retreat that concluded on October 20th. This retreat, specifically designed for women who have endured the traumas of sexual assault, provided a sanctuary for healing, self-discovery, and communal support. Within this sacred space, the participants engaged with ancient entheogenic practices, allowing for profound emotional and spiritual healing. As they continue their journey through the remainder of the program, these women are supported in integrating their experiences from the retreat into their daily lives. The commitment to nurturing a powerful sisterhood empowers participants to process and transcend their trauma, forging a path toward resilience and a renewed sense of purpose. In this episode, we cover the following:Justin shares his struggles, misdiagnosis, and journey as a Military Veteran. He reflects on the common experiences of veterans and first responders, emphasizing the importance of addressing mental health in these communitiesThe transformative psilocybin experience led to the creation of the "Heroic Path to Light."The organization was established to provide legal psychedelic therapies in the United States under the guise of a religious institution, utilizing legal protections for religious freedom.Heroic Path to Light's program is comprehensive, spanning 25 weeks and catering to veterans, first responders, and their families, with a focus on accessibility and affordability. The women's program addresses issues of sexual trauma and abuse among female veterans, emphasizing empowerment and healing. The organization's future plansHelpful links:Heroic Path to Light helps veterans, first responders, and Gold/White Star families heal, transform, and find purpose through community, connection, and sacred psychedelic medicine retreats. Their retreat experiences are enriched by comprehensive preparation and integration, and they foster a community where mutual understanding and shared experience thrive. All retreats are U.S. based, safe, and legal. They believe if you served America, you deserve to heal IN America. To Donate, visit this LINKHow to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan Hosted on Acast. This is a Holy Spirit inspired sermon titled: The Snake Hides In The Grass. Parents please preview as I do speak about The Enemy and some evil that is done to children now in the world and what has been done in the past. The purpose of this episode is to help bring an awareness to the evil so we all can join together to protect the children of the world. In this week's episode of Next Page we sit down with Ray Murphy, US Marine Veteran, Founder of Warriors Healing Network, K9 Dog Trainer and Advocate for Ayahuasca Treatment for PTSD. Ray grew up in a violent household where he suffered physical abuse, however he escaped at 17 and joined the Marine Corp. While in the military, he spent most of his time with the a scout sniper platoon, where he learned self-reliance and confidence. After he left the military, he began BASE jumping because he grew tired of sky diving. However, these “big boy games” caused him to lose over 33 friends in the process. Ray tells us all about how the trauma of his losses and eventually the death of his dog created trauma stacking, of which he could not recover. He was diagnosed with CPTSD, however conventional measures and even ketamine didn't work, so he tried psychedelics, Ayahuasca Treatment in particular. Ray enlightens us about what Ayahuasca is, how it works and the ceremony and spiritual aspect of the treatment. According to Ray it isn't for the feint of heart, but once he completed a week of treatment, he felt lighter and finally learned to thank his traumatic experiences. We learn why he created the Warriors Healing Network and about his mission to send veterans who also haven't seen progress through traditional methods down to Costa Rica to receive the same treatment. So far they have sent two individuals (one of which was on the verge of suicide) and attained success with both. We also discuss how the mental health systems within the military are meant to keep you sick and how military personnel are treated as investments who are abandoned once they become unwell to deal with their mental health issues on their own. Ray's mission with the Warriors Healing Network is to help as many veterans and police man as he can, but he needs OUR help! We learned SO much in this amazing convo with Ray and can't thank him enough for his service to this country and to his fellow veterans. We want to do whatever we can to help his mission to helps others, so don't miss this episode, make sure to check out the links to their upcoming events and donate to the cause through the links in the shownotes!Warriors Healing NetworkWarriors Healing Network InstagramWarriors Healing Network FacebookMay 5th – Veteran & Police Suicide Awareness Dinner with Eddie GallagherPipe Hitter FoundationRythmia Life Advancement CenterPodcast Interview with Holy City SinnerHigh Risk Deployment Police K9 Hosted on Acast. Suzi is joined today by Isaac Salvidar, US Marine Veteran and Program Manager at Merging Vets and Players Las Vegas Chapter. Isaac shares his journey of healing and his determination not to be his diagnosis. As a first generation American in his family Isaac began to pave his way to success through many diverse routes of achievement. As one of those routes Isaac joined the Marine Corps to solidify his toughness and satisfy a feeling of belonging, but this journey of growth came with a price. Listen in to Isaac's story and how he took the initiative to find his path of healing. Isaac's BioIsaac was in the ROTC and was the first vice president of his high school when he enlisted with the US Marines at 18 before graduation. He left for boot camp in September 2005, two days after his sister's wedding. His first duty station was at 29 Palms M.C.A.G.C.C. in the California desert for three and a half years with 1st Marines Division 2nd Battalion 7th Marines. He deployed to Iraq from January-August of 2007. During this time, he served as the Radio Operator for his squad. In the third year of his first enlistment in 2008, he deployed to Helmand Province Afghanistan. He was injured from I.E.D's. blasts resulting in a concussion, torn shoulder, fractures, inflamed bulging discs, and compressed nerves in his back. Upon returning from his 2nd deployment, he was placed on limited duty and was prescribed opioids for the pain leading to addiction. “I was numb to the world. I had gone from being athletic to someone with no emotion and a lot of anger, pain, and barely able to move without the pain meds. I only slept a few hours at night and was also self-medicating with alcohol.”While in Afghanistan he re-enlisted to become a Marksmanship Instructor at Camp Pendleton, in San Diego County and executed orders in 2009 for his new duty station. In 2012 he was medically separated from the Marines. "Had we lived, I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood, endurance, and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman. These rough notes and our dead bodies must tell the tale, but surely, surely, a great rich country like ours will see that those who are dependent on us are properly provided for.” - Robert Falcon Scott, Last Expedition Volume 2 The reality of existing in the South Pole? Conditions are not conducive to living without extraordinary measures of physical protection. Explorers who braved that environment prior to any human presence had no such luxury. Wayne White - Cold: Three Winters at the South Pole, Amazon. Tracing the path of men he admired, Wayne has achieved what few have. Completion of 3 Winters (and 2 Summers) at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Fun fact: that job experience makes him uniquely qualified to speak to the challenges that long term space travel might present. Amazon Bio: Hello Folks, I am a US Marine Veteran. I spent two summers and three winters as the Winter Site Manager at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. I have a major interest in historical exploration and have a home in Rockport Texas. I have a very kind hearted wife (Melissa) and due to that have 20 cats! Summary edit: As the winter site manager of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica, White was responsible for the selection, training, and health and safety of the forty-two- and forty-six-person crews. Few people on the planet can say they know what it feels like to walk in the unworldly, frigid winter darkness at the South Pole, but Wayne L. White can—having walked several thousand miles and never missing a day outside during his stay, regardless of the conditions. Amazon Reader Review: "This book is riveting, you will not want to put it down. I had no idea what it would be like to live and work at the South Pole. I also had no idea that I would want to know but as soon as I started reading COLD, I was hooked." Off the beaten path .... Wayne has managed to safely negotiate his way out of situations that many would consider dangerous. Danger due to the intense physical requirements of the terrain - and/or the disposition of the people he would encounter. While at the South Pole, he mentions the UFO he [almost] saw... He also says someone asked him to tell him about the -- my phrasing "secret UFO base and stuff" going on there. We get into that in the second segment of the interview. Add paranormal, spooky and top that with an extreme oddity - a very unusual and curiously 'special' rock. Connect with Wayne on Facebook: Link. The post is copied below: "Almost a year ago this man and I were involved in a major altercation where he tried to stab me in the head, and I nearly shot him. Today we ran into each other again, and I learned that after his time in prison and some help from probation, he now has a full-time job. I was glad it ended well for us both that day and I am ecstatic now to learn that he has turned his life around and we can embrace as friends. No one is ever lost forever. CEO's, Owners, Managers, if you think your meetings are awesome you are in DENIAL (Don't Even kNOw I Am Lying). The truth is they are tedious, unproductive, and boring. Most of the people would rather poke themselves in the eye with a fork and go to the hospital than sit in your meetings. Why? Because there is no purpose behind most meetings. They are a waste. Secondly you demand people to attend who have nothing to do with accomplishing anything, so you are wasting their time. The fact is you could have sent them a synopsis rather than have them come. And let's be honest we are all lying to ourselves that by having meetings we are creating a team. Thankfully Dr. Rick Brinkman is on this episode of A New Direction to help us get meetings right or possibly not have them at all! Yes that is exactly what I said...no meetings! Dr. Brinkman's book entitled "Dealing with Meetings You Can't Stand" is a fabulous insightful look at meetings and why they don't work and why people hate them. He then helps clean them up by thinking about them as flying a plane and all the crew members involved. From the pilot who runs the meeting, to the traffic controllers who make sure the meeting is moving and on point, to the flight recorder who makes certain we are clear on what we met about. "Dealing with Meetings You Can't Stand" also deals with the types of people you inevitably will deal with in a meeting, like the "tank", the "know-it-all", the "think-they-know-it-all", the "grenade" and others. The book is insightful and fun, you will both laugh and start changing your meetings. My Co-host for this Episode of A New Direction is Ralph Peterson: Ralph Peterson, a US Marine Veteran, Sought after speaker, Author, a Management Development Coach, and the CEO and Founder of #1 Virtual Training Center for Housekeeping Managers in Long-Term Care, doesn't pull any punches. In this episode, I interview a US Marine Veteran turned Hollywood Actress & Stunt Women, Leaphy Khim. Leaphy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Cambodian genocide survivors. At a very young age she was taught the importance of her culture, language, and traditions. She was raised to be strong, independent, and self sufficient. Her parents valued education and relentlessly drilled into her head to be the best at anything she wishes to pursue in life. For 8 years, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Her proudest achievement was when she was deployed with a military joint task force in aid of a humanitarian project in Macaracas, Panama. She helped with the construction of multiple classrooms and community centers in a small town outside of Panama City. Today she remained passionate in helping people from all walks of life. She is energetic, highly motivated, and hard working, with a strong commitment to help and empower people to lead a healthy lifestyle. She offers martial arts and basic self defense classes. In addition, Leaphy help military veterans by connecting them with benefits, resources, counseling, and linking them with different community organizations. With her extensive background in fighting and weapons/combat training she practices her craft in Hollywood as an actress and stuntwoman. Disciplines she specializes in include kickboxing, western boxing, Eskrima, and Brazilian Jujitsu. Her most notable role was in “Let It Go” in which she was awarded Best Actress at the GI Film Festival in 2018. Her most current projects include a costar role and stunt work on ABC The Rookie and Grey's Anatomy. In summary, Leaphy is a strong, dedicated woman with a compassionate side that is not afraid to drop everything and lend a helping hand. In this episode, you'll learn about her military experiences, the challenges she had to overcome, and how she got into Hollywood as a stunt women and actress. Today I had the pleasure of talking to a returning guest, he's a fellow podcaster, city council member for the city of Brawley and a US Marine Veteran. I met Ramon back in December of 2019 to talk about a Podcast he and his fellow veterans Ernie and Raymond had started. They wanted to talk about issues veterans were dealing with, during one of their episodes they had the opportunity to go down to Tijuana and meet with some deported veterans. While down there they befriended a veteran named Erazmo Apocada, a couple of days after he was notified he was able to apply for his citizenship he was found dead in his backyard. This motivated Ramon to do something about this issue and while walking the annual memorial day walk he decided he would walk the entire length of the Mexico/US border to bring awareness to deported veterans. Marque, a US Marine Veteran, long time rock climber and overall outdoor enthusiast, discovered Ashtanga Yoga while seeking different ways to alleviate his lower back pain. After noticing an almost immediate physical change, Marque then slowly began to see other positive changes happening in his life as well. With no Ashtanga teachers in the area, he found himself with no choice but to get up early and practice on his own before work everyday. During this time Marque also attended a 200 teacher training and several Ashtanga workshops and intensives to deepen his understanding of this beautiful system. In the fall of 2014 Marque decided to follow in the footsteps of the teachers that he most respected and applied for study at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI). Marque was accepted and spent the first 2 months of 2015 in Mysore, India learning under the guidance of R. Sharath Jois. Marque has practiced with Sharath during multipe US tours and has also returned to India each year since and has practiced with both Sharath and Saraswathi. Marque received the blessing (Level 2 Authorization) from Sharath on December 12th, 2017 during his morning practice. Marque is the owner of Great Lakes Ashtanga Yoga, where he runs a full Mysore program, teaches private lessons and hosts workshops. He, his wife and their adopted Indian street dog travel as often as possible to climb or to share yoga with others.

I SURVIVED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND A CRAPPY COACH Definitely, you hire a coach with a hope that they will help you realize your full potential or achieve your professional or personal goals. But sometimes your coach may do more harm to you than good. Now, as a learner, is it advisable not to just follow blindly on the things your coach asks you to do. This way, you will be in a position to tell if your coach is helpful or they’re just after your bucks. Sometimes also you have to listen to your gut feeling. I’m excited about this episode because this is absolutely what Jasmine will be talking to us about. Jasmine Gonzalez is an IFFB Bikini Pro, and a US Marine Veteran. She is currently a Posing Coach. In this episode, Jasmine will shed some light on inappropriate and harmful tactics a prior coach used on her and how she fired the coach. She will also share a life-changing story on how she attempted suicide three times and how she survived. In addition, she will talk about how she escaped domestic violence, as well as how she turned pro in less than a year. You might get teary so please keep your hanky close. Here we go! Takeaways When you feel you've reached the end, talk to someone. The first sign of feeling like you have nothing else is when you need to reach out Work with a coach that believes in you Question why you feel certain way before moving If you have something festering in your mind, always reach out to somebody Stay away from things that trigger your mental health Surround yourself with a good support network If you're not mentally right, you can't help anybody else Do it, you can definitely do it. Listen to the right people, do the right thing and you'll succeed Important Questions [00:06:08] How many years have you been competing?
