We all know the feeling: life should be good. From the outside, everything looks fine—even enviable. But inside? It's a different story. In this deeply moving episode, Brytani shares her journey as an active duty Marine who quietly carries the weight of depression, suicidal thoughts, and the ache of loneliness. Despite the strength she shows on the outside, Brytani's story reveals the hidden cracks beneath the surface—the loss of meaningful relationships, the struggle to find purpose in a career that no longer feels aligned, and the painful fight to access the mental health care she desperately needs. Her honesty will stop you in your tracks. Because her story is our story—the story of holding it all together while falling apart. Of smiling in photos, but crying alone. Of feeling despair even when the world sees a beautiful life. If you've ever felt the disconnect between what your life looks like and how it actually feels, this conversation will make you feel seen. Brytani reminds us that healing begins with honesty. That doing the basics is sometimes the bravest thing we can do. And that reaching out—whether you're the one hurting or the one who wants to help—matters more than we know. Listen in for a conversation that's raw, real, and achingly relatable. You are not alone. Hi, my name is Kate, and I am from Odessa region. Imagine you are standing on the slope of the mountain, and a breathtaking view opens to you. The sun shines brightly and clear. The breeze is barely noticeable and warm. You see a large bay underneath. The water flows quietly and calmly. The leaves on the trees rustle gently. You feel peace. You feel happiness. No thoughts. No feelings. No worries. Only harmony of the inner and outer world. You are in Bakota, one of the most beautiful and amazing places in Ukraine. Bakota was a village in the Khmelnytskyi region in the west of Ukraine. The name Bakota was first mentioned in writings in 1024. In the 12th century, it was a large trading port on the Dniester River with a population of about 2,500 people. The region was ruled in succession by the Mongol-Tatars, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, and the Kingdom of Poland. Despite pressure from the invaders, Bakota managed to fight for freedom and preserve its cultural identity. In 1972, the government started construction of the Dniester hydroelectric station in this region. And Soviet authorities decided to flood the settlement. All the buildings were to be destroyed. Trees were cut down and burned. And cemeteries were moved to new places. The locals had to destroy their own houses - their history - and stop farming and gardening. The planned resettlement took eight years. In 1981, the village of Bakota ceased to exist. Officials spent the next six years to fill the area with water. The only thing left of the old village is a cave monastery. The cave is located inside White Mountain, about 70 meters above the Dniester River. The oldest archaeological finds in the area date back to the second millennium BC. The website Blog about tours to Ukraine says the monks first came to the cave in the 11th century. There were also reports that St. Anthony, the founder of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra cave monastery, once visited the area. During the Mongol invasion in the middle of the 13th century, both monks and peasants from nearby villages used the cave as a hiding place. By the 15th century, the monks left the area as several landslides destroyed many of the caves inside the soft sandstone of White Mountain. There are several springs on the mountain, just below the cave. The cool spring water is tasty. Locals believe that the spring water can heal and treat different diseases. Today, Bakota Bay, the cave and the springs often draw visitors to the area, about 300 kilometers from the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. And many leave behind ribbons and personal items along the path to the healing springs.

"The field recording is sampled from a public performance of a band playing traditional Latin music found in countries such as Cuba and Brazil. This music captures the feeling of sweet melancholy - of longing for the beauty of home, while also sharing this cultural expression with an audience in London.  "As I listened to this sample over and over, I began to really feel the humanness of the music - the embodied sounds of the instruments, the work of fingers and hands - pouring out the emotion for the audience to take in and be touched by. The techniques for creating my piece included stretching and extending the sample to create a wash of sound, which might be like one's memory of attending this concert.  "Fragments of melodies and harmonies surface above the waves, drawing us back not only to another country - thinking of traveling, uprooting, relocating, settling down to make another home in a strange and new place - but to a perhaps simpler and more humane time." Welcome to Chit & Chat; today my guest is Sassy is an English Country rock pop artist now living in Nashville, Tennessee. During her childhood, Sassy's love for music was initially inspired by the extraordinary female vocalists Olivia Newton-John and Shania Twain, who both inspired her and helped her to become the singer songwriter she is today. Formerly a county squad gymnast and dancer, Sassy qualified as a fitness instructor, honing her performance skills which took her into modelling. A chance moment seeing Shania Twain singing ‘That Don't Impress Me Much' created the germ of an idea to become a Shania lookalike. She won a talent contest performing as Shania was the platform Sassy needed to become a tribute performing artist when she realized she was destined for more as a writer and singer. She has toured England in several tribute bands which helped developed her confidence to become a solo artist in bars & clubs singing all genres of music, alongside honing her Shania Twain performance act which she took on European tour. She has some great music and is working on some more upcoming projects, you can find her on Facebook. Please check out her music on Spotify & Youtube. I am sharing 2 of her songs.
