We would love to hear from you! Text us any feedback. Lamoris and Megan Crawford return for a candid, humorous, and deeply insightful conversation about keeping the spark alive in marriage through busy seasons, kids, and ministry demands. The Crawfords don't hold back as they share their family hierarchy—God first, spouse second, kids third, then ministry—and how this ordering has sustained their relationship for almost two decades. "We found that as kids exit the homes, the spouses didn't stay connected," Lamoris explains, highlighting why prioritizing your marriage isn't selfish but essential.Things get particularly interesting (and yes, a bit spicy!) when they discuss their innovative "package system" for communicating intimate expectations. Their honest approach to the different ways men and women experience connection creates both laugh-out-loud moments and profound realizations about meeting each other's needs. For couples struggling or feeling their marriage hanging by a thread, the Crawfords offer transformative wisdom about agape love. "Most of us don't understand the kind of love that God loves us with," Megan shares, challenging listeners to exhaust themselves in loving their spouse before considering other options.Whether you're newly married or decades in, this conversation delivers practical tools, spiritual insights, and the permission to laugh at the beautiful mess that is marriage. You'll walk away with strategies for communication, intimacy, and remembering why you fell in love in the first place. Their journey from Cincinnati to their new role as chaplains for the Carolina Panthers shows how a marriage centered on covenant can impact not just a family but entire communities.JOIN ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Follow Along @ - https://www.instagram.com/nikkicronksmith/
We would love to hear from you! Text us any feedback. From the projects of Chicago to the cornfields of rural America, Lamoris and Megan Crawford's love story defies cultural expectations while illuminating the transformative power of covenant marriage. Their journey began at Olivet Nazarene University where two worlds collided – his marked by inner-city hardship and her steeped in traditional religious values that initially rejected their relationship. What makes their story extraordinary isn't just their diverse backgrounds, but their unwavering commitment to honor God's process. For three and a half years, Lamoris faithfully called Megan's father asking permission to date his daughter, receiving "no" after "no" until a divinely orchestrated breakthrough. The moment Megan's father tearfully asked forgiveness for his racism and acknowledged Lamoris's Christlike character became the foundation for not just their relationship, but a generational healing that continues today. The Crawfords now lead Covenant Culture, a marriage ministry born from their experiences as NFL chaplains with the Cincinnati Bengals. They challenge the prevailing contract mentality of modern relationships with a profound truth: "You die to get in and you die to get out." Their teaching that "God created marriage to make us holy, not happy" reframes the entire purpose of matrimony, revealing how true happiness emerges from obedience rather than self-fulfillment.Drawing on their powerful personal testimony and ministry experience, the Crawfords identify pride as the root of most marital struggles – whether manifesting as superiority or self-pity. Their story demonstrates how patient obedience to God's process can transform not just a relationship, but entire family legacies, breaking cycles of racism and establishing new foundations of faith.Don't miss part two next week where we'll explore more marriage wisdom and some lighter moments as the Crawfords answer some spicy questions! If their story has touched you, please share this episode with someone who might benefit from hearing about the power of covenant marriage.JOIN ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Follow Along @ - https://www.instagram.com/nikkicronksmith/

Interview with Mark Selby, CEO of Canada NickelOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/canada-nickel-tsxvcnc-pioneering-nas-nickel-future-with-innovative-financing-and-esg-focus-5926Recording date: 21st September 2024Canada Nickel Company is making significant strides in advancing its Crawford nickel sulfide project, positioning itself as a potential key player in the North American nickel market. The company has recently secured substantial funding commitments and strategic partnerships, marking a crucial step towards realizing its ambitions in the Timmins nickel district of Ontario, Canada.CEO Mark Selby recently outlined the company's progress in securing a comprehensive financing package for the Crawford project. Canada Nickel has obtained commitments for nearly US$900 million in debt financing, including a US$500 million letter of intent from Export Development Canada (EDC) and a CAD$500 million commitment from another financial institution. EDC's involvement as the mandated lead arranger for a larger debt facility is particularly significant, potentially unlocking access to a total debt package of US$1.5 billion. On the equity side, Canada Nickel is targeting approximately US$1 billion in financing. A substantial portion of this is expected to come from Canadian government support in the form of refundable tax credits, amounting to over US$600 million. These credits are tied to critical minerals development and carbon capture and storage initiatives, aligning with Canada's strategic priorities in these sectors. The company has also secured a strategic partnership with Samsung, involving a US$100 million option agreement. This deal would grant Samsung 10% of the project in exchange for 30% of the offtake, demonstrating industry confidence in Crawford's potential. With these commitments in place, Canada Nickel is now focused on securing the remaining US$300-400 million in equity financing. The company is working with Scotiabank and Deutsche Bank to identify potential strategic partners or offtake agreements that could provide upfront funding. The significant government support for the Crawford project underscores the strategic importance of domestic nickel production in North America. As Selby noted, "This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to take advantage of the large flows of government money that are coming into the space that allow you as a retail investor to get a bunch of free leverage from the government to be able to build a project that's going to last, in the case of Crawford, at least 40 years."The demand outlook for nickel remains strong, particularly from the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors. Selby emphasized that "the market needs 10 Crawfords to be able to satisfy that demand," highlighting the scale of the opportunity. For investors, Canada Nickel offers exposure to a strategic asset in a stable jurisdiction, backed by substantial government support and aligned with long-term market trends. The company's innovative financing approach, combining government incentives, debt facilities, and strategic investments, could serve as a model for future critical mineral projects. However, investors should be aware of potential risks, including execution challenges inherent in large-scale mining projects, short-term nickel price volatility, and the need to secure remaining equity financing.Canada Nickel is working towards a construction decision for the Crawford project by mid-2025, aiming to have the majority of its financing package in place by the end of the current year. As the global push for electrification and energy transition continues, projects like Crawford are likely to play an increasingly important role in securing supply chains for critical minerals, potentially offering significant long-term value for investors.View Canada Nickel's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/canada-nickelSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

This week in anguish: - Tristan takes the reins, so prepare yourself for two things: We'll be covering a lot of ground, and we'll be tilling that good earth very, very lightly. - Is Kuzy getting chilly in the doghouse? What's scarier than a silent Hög? How many Crawfords work for the Canucks? And ain't it just nice to hear that Trevor still cares? - The PWHL has no plan, but that's still leagues ahead of "plans" like the NHL's anti-sensical take on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Cullman County, Alabama, USA. In this podcast episode, Daniel and Kelly Crawford, the founders of Abel Speaks, share their personal journey from the loss of their son Abel in 2016 to establishing a non-profit organization in 2018 that provides hope and guidance for families facing similar situations. The Crawfords openly discuss how their own experience of grief and the desire to help others led them to leave their jobs and dedicate themselves fully to Abel Speaks. The episode delves into the growth of Abel Speaks, from serving a few families to reaching out to families across the US and abroad, and the evolution of their vision, mission, and approach towards providing quality care and support. The Crawfords share how they filled the gaps in care and support for parents dealing with a life-limiting diagnosis for their child, and the transformative power of saying yes to helping others. They also discuss the importance of holding the mission loosely, emphasizing that the mission is ultimately about God's story and the stories he impacts, and that they have the privilege of being a part of. The episode ends with an encouragement for listeners to reach out to Abel Speaks if they are parents in similar circumstances.
Is travel ball the best route for Black kids to play baseball? It's clearly a very important part of elite youth baseball in 2023. So, what does that really mean? We know travel ball is expensive. Not every working-class family can afford the equipment, the uniforms, the tournament entry fees, the club monthly fees, and the add-on expenses for travel. Travel ball is an expensive and difficult grind for the adults, let alone the kids. But what if there was a way for kids to participate in travel ball differently? What if we can include more Black families and communities in the mix? That's what Coach Huey Hackett and the LA Crawfords are doing. Don't get it twisted; they are a travel ball team, and that includes a lot of things that come with the travel ball experience (including the travel and additional cost), but Coach Hackett is trying his best to make the experience affordable (no monthly fees) and inclusive (kids from ever walk of life). The Crawfords, located in South LA, offers year-round training, professional coaching and mentorship, and top-level baseball experience. Flobo and I (Cheats) welcomed Coach Hacket on our IG live last week to talk about his journey in leading the Crawfords and the state of youth travel ball today. It's a great conversation. Please follow the Crawfords on IG and, as always, subscribe to the Black Baseball Mixtape everywhere podcasts are available (especially Apple Podcast).

Let's Parent on Purpose: Christian Parenting, Marriage, and Family Talk
Sometimes our worst fears in parenting do come true. When Daniel and Kelly Crawford were pregnant with their first son Abel, they learned that he had a life limiting diagnosis. Directed to find services to terminate the pregnancy, they instead chose to carry their little boy to birth. They were gifted fifteen days with their little Abel. Their experience led them to reach out and minister to other families facing similar scenarios. It also gave them perspective as they raise their other special needs children. This is an honest yet hope filled conversation about the sadness and sweetness of dying dreams and and an enduring gospel hope. Daniel and Kelly Crawford have been married since December 2013 and reside in Dallas, Texas. They have three children (Abel, Mayfield, and Deacon) who were all born on the exact same day in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Yes, January 22 is a big day at the Crawford house! They co- founded Abel Speaks in 2018 to support families who have chosen to carry a child with a life-limiting diagnosis. After walking that road with their firstborn son, Abel, they realized the significant need that existed for parents in their position. The vision of Abel Speaks is that every family they serve will cherish their child's life and have hope in the midst of sorrow. This ministry is but one example of the redemptive truth that God never wastes an ounce of our pain, and the Crawfords love to write and speak on the ways that God can and does use our suffering for his glory and our good. Dr. Iris Crawford of Naturkur Wellness is back to discuss her fresh approach to weight loss by focusing on stress, hormonal balance and adrenal fatigue in today's episode. In today's episode, you'll discover: -Why eating less can actually sabotage your metabolism -What supplement she recommends over any other to help cravings and stabilize blood sugar for women with PCOS -How to start finding a plan that allows you to eat more of the right foods based on your metabolic type About Our Guest: Dr. Iris Crawford received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health Sciences from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA majoring in holistic nutrition and is a proud alumna of the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, where she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) degree. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians. After years of research and medical practice seeing hundreds of women successfully lose weight and get their energy back, she believes that high-achieving women aren't getting the help they need to stay healthy and happy. She believes that weight loss is not just about calories in and calories out and treating adrenal burnout and repairing the metabolism is often the missing link to successful and sustained weight loss. The Total Tutor will interview The Executive Director of The Josh Gibson Foundation and Great Grandson of Josh Gibson, Sean Gibson. Sean will discuss the components of the foundation. Sean L. Gibson is the great-grandson of Baseball Hall of Fame legend Josh Gibson. Sean has dedicated his life to the preservation of Josh's legacy and is the Executive Director of the Josh Gibson Foundation, a Pittsburgh area non-profit organization. The Josh Gibson Foundation was established in 1994 in an effort to keep the memory of Pittsburgh's beloved Josh Gibson and the entire Negro League alive. The foundation partners with Duquesne University by matching up college students with elementary and middle school youth for tutoring. The foundation also sponsors the Josh Gibson Little League. . There is likely no greater expert on the history of the Negro Leagues than Sean who speaks to a variety of groups throughout the year teaching on the significance of these great men who played the game before Jackie Robinson integrated baseball in 1947. . Josh Gibson, the man that many regard as the greatest Negro League player ever, was born on December 21, 1911 in Buena Vista, Georgia. He relocated to southwestern Pennsylvania in 1924 after his father found work in a Pittsburgh area steel mill. Josh began catching for the Pittsburgh Crawfords in 1927. With the addition of Gibson, the Crawfords rose to the top of the city's sandlot teams and challenged Cumberland Posey's Homestead Grays, a stellar club of Black professional baseball players from across the nation. During Gibson's career, he played ball with Hall of Famers Oscar Charleston, Cool Papa Bell, Judy Johnson, and Satchel Paige. The Homestead Grays won an unprecedented nine consecutive Negro National League pennants with Gibson behind the plate.
