In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Danny Clarke, Chief Business Officer of Amplify Hearing USA to discuss the demand and opportunity of offering audiology and hearing care to your patients. Key Takeaways:Only 20% of Americans who have hearing loss use hearing aids. In Europe where audiology and optometry are close partners, it's more than 33%. In the UK and Denmark, it's over 45%.In Europe, 48% of hearing aids are fit in private optometric locations. When available, vision care patients are more than open to receiving hearing care in their optometry office and vice versa. Hearing patients are more than open to receiving vision care from optometry practices that offer it. It provides significant convenience that patient consumers want and rests on the trust optometrists have built with their patients. The average consumer with hearing loss has no idea where to go for hearing care.Like so many other opportunities, team training and education on the "why" is critical to success. The availability of OTC hearing aids have dramatically increased the awareness of hearing loss and hearing care, further driving the opportunity for success in this space. Led by Head Gardener Misako Kasahara, the GQT team explore Riverhill and learn the history of this once-abandoned site. The transformative power of gardening has never been more evident – or more necessary – than it is now. This week guest presenters TV gardener Danny Clarke and Alana Cama from the RHS Campaign for School Gardening explore communal urban gardens tackling inequality and food poverty in Los Angeles with activist Indy Srinath. Closer to home we meet Tayshan Hayden-Smith. He's CEO of Grow2Know, a non-profit organisation born from the ashes of the Grenfell Tower disaster, that now empowers young people through horticulture. Tayshan talks about breaking through the barriers to make gardening and horticulture truly inclusive and sharing their amazing benefits for health and wellbeing with everyone. Plus a look at what the RHS is doing to promote community gardening across the country.

In today's episode I talk to TV Presenter & Garden Designer Danny Clarke. Danny is a TV British horticulturist who co-hosts the BBC series The Instant Gardener with Helen Skelton. Danny was born in Oxford to immigrant parents from Jamaica. He founded his own garden design company in 1997, and called himself The Black Gardener. It was this name that led him to him being noticed and invited to screen test for The Instant Gardener, a daytime BBC programme that started in 2015. Danny also appeared as a presenter for the BBC on the RHS Chelsea and RHS Tatton Flower shows and Tree of the Year for Channel 4. He is currently presenting garden design with the ITV This Morning team as well as appearing in various other press, television and radio productions. Danny's story is inspiring and ignites a love of nature to anyone who listens to him speak about the natural world through his positive, gentle and kind manner.
This week's programme is dedicated to perhaps the quintessential foliage plant, the fern. Firstly, garden designer Danny Clarke shares his love of the majestic tree fern, Dicksonia antarctica. Then we head into the dark and mysterious Stumpery at RHS Garden Rosemoor to meet a magnificent cast of ferns luxuriating in the cool, moist conditions there. Author and journalist Richard Mabey explores a fern frenzy that swept Victorian Britain, the catchily-named Pteridomania. And finally, RHS horticultural advisor Jenny Bowden offers hints and tips on how to get the best out of ferns in your garden.
Join us on a globetrotting plant extravaganza! Sally Miller from the Barbados Horticultural Society takes us on a totally tropical tour of her paradise island garden. Danny Clarke – aka The Black Gardener – offers trolley-fuls of advice and design tips for making a garden so gorgeous you'll never want to leave it. Dr Chris Thorogood of Oxford Botanic Garden leads us into the steamy jungles of Borneo in search of the world's biggest flower, revealing some of its curious habits along the way. Plus author and columnist Pattie Barron shares her love of Mediterranean gardens and advice on how to give your garden a sun-drenched makeover in just a weekend.
I talk to BBC Presenter The Instant Gardener/ The Black Gardener Danny Clarke about #BlackLivesMatter, something that I've held off from discussing, but feel the importance of it and how it is represented in the garden industry. We also discuss his BBC show the instant Gardener Danny Clarke is a professional garden designer, maintenance practitioner and landscaper. A self confessed “friend of the earth” Danny is not only an experienced horticulturalist, but also an established TV presenter and expert. The Oxford born son of a British Army officer, Danny initially considered embarking on a military career or as a professional sportsman, but his extensive travels abroad inspired him to pursue his love of nature and the great outdoors. He gained a keen eye for design which led him to become a highly acclaimed and in demand landscaper and designer, helping bring people's visions and ambitions for their gardens to life! Danny's creativity and fresh approach hasn't gone unnoticed and it was for this reason that he went on to land a co presenter role on BBC one's garden transformation show “The Instant Gardener” alongside Helen Skelton. Using his sharp eye for design and passion for ambitious, imaginative concepts Danny and the team work tirelessly to transform the space and provide viewers with straightforward and useful tips on how they can revamp their gardens. His career in TV has gone from strength to strength and he was given the honour of presenting for the BBC at the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park. Dave James, Podiatrist talks to Dr. Justin Trosclair DC on A Doctor's Perspective Podcast Take Dave James Podiatrist video creation conversation as a personal challenge to get a jump start on local community influence. Why make videos, ideas for content, establishing a niche and podiatry procedures that are tech driven and great results. His journey to becoming a podiatrist started with his own injuries as well as two other medical type career choices before finally deciding on podiatry. After 3 different degrees and certifications and getting a master in biomechanics and being in healthcare for 25 years with 8 years in private practice, he decided to sell his clinic. Some people are born learners and educators and it takes time for them to finally carve out their niche to share with others… I think Dave James is one of those types. He offered some services that you may not have heard of. We get his explanation on: swift microwave therapy, clearnail (micro-penetration), Swift Microwave treatment is for skin issues like plantar warts and it helps create heat and micro inflammation and then after 3-4 treatments the body heals and although it is slightly painful, the downtime is minimal. Clearnail is micro-penetration of the nail bed so you can inject medicine underneath the nail bed and really get rid of the nail fungus. Which is better than the medicine which can cause liver and kidney issues as well as mess up your sense of taste. What is Foot Mobilization Techniques (FMT) and does it have an effect in a podiatry office? If you think it's a joint manipulation like a chiropractor delivers than you are accurate. They tend to use it for pain modulation of stiff joints, old scars and plantar fasciitis (especially with a loading protocol). His own path of personal development sparked a passion to want to see other people get out of their own way. Danny Clarke encouraged him to start doing videos. Dave realized he had a knack for video and the more he does them the more comfortable and enjoyable they are for him to film and edit. You could say the Foot Magician's niche market is teaching doctors about social media, particularly being on video like YouTube and Facebook live, but being your authentic self so patients can know you As You and not just stuffy podiatrist. Yes, your first video will probably be embarrassing, but keep at it. Do two 2 minute videos for 14 days. Can you imagine the impact if you could have all the podiatrists or your doctor specialty all promoting the same one condition per month on your social media accounts by video. Maybe it's a really good infographic but you don't agree with a portion of it. Instead of saying, I won't share it, you could write how you like ABC but not XYZ and here is why. I know “what to do” for practice growth, but are you “doing it?” Should you be afraid to raise your rates? Should you price yourself close to everyone else, higher than or just concern yourself with the value you provide? How do we provide more value? Mark Twain “what other people think about you is none of your business.” Even though our work week and obligations may keep us busy and not bored, we have to remember that our family time is important and they want a real holiday too. Books: Gary Vandyrchuk, Malcolm Gladwell, Jim Rohn, They Ask You Answer - Marcus Sheridan, plus many podiatrists that have their own expertise. He has a show called “The Foot and Leg Show.” Be sure to take a listen to Dave James on this show. hello@davethecoach.co.ukwww.davthecoach.co.ukIG - davethepod FB group: stepping up Show notes can be found at https://adoctorsperspective.net/120 here you can also find links to things mentioned and the full transcript. The Meditations are a reggae vocal harmony group from Jamaica formed in late 1974. They have released several studio albums and are still performing in the 2000s and today. The Meditations were formed in late 1974, when Danny Clarke left The Righteous Flames, recruiting Ansel Cridland (previously of The Linkers) and Winston Watson After releasing singles credited to the individual members, they began recording as The Meditations in late 1976, shortly after which they released their biggest hit, "Woman Is Like a Shadow", which sold over 45,000 copies in its first month of release. They recorded in the mid-1970s for producers such as Dobby Dobson, Joseph Hoo Kim, and Lee "Scratch" Perry, their righteously Rastafarian style gaining comparisons with The Mighty Diamonds. Their first album, Message From The Meditations, was released in 1977. Robert Christgau called it "a nice one" in Christgau's Record Guide (1981), highlighting the "island chauvinism" of songs like "Running from Jamaica", which "gets on those who emigrate to Canada, Britain, the States, and Africa #nowplaying
Welcome to The Expert Focus podcast hosted by the savvy Claire Dowdall. Savagely brilliant, Claire is described by peers in the industry as outstanding and insightful in the realm of business, marketing, coaching, and social media presence! Her podcast brings listeners tips, strategies, marketing plans, and captivating interviews with great guests all with the desire of helping you! In this episode, Claire talks with Danny Clarke who co-owns The VIP Life with his wife Elizabeth. Danny describes VIP Life as your business in a box. He and his wife will work tirelessly to provide their clients with social media and video presence as well as coaching, step by step goals, website building, free templating, emails, e-books and anything else one could possibly need. The only things a client needs to bring is their personal branding. How does he know he has everything covered? He has created a solution to every problem he encountered along the way. Danny and Liz offer 3 different packages that increase in value as they step up from Lite, Life, and Pro, but all packages include: Live video tutorials Live coaching sessions Weekly Q&A sessions Copywriting review service Mindset fix Social media overview Messenger bot support Sixty-minute accountability check-in Weekly flow system boost Danny hammers home that it is paramount that we be ourselves. A lot of time people in business feel like they must have a certain mindset or must appear a certain way; however, when we are honest about ourselves we conduct better business. Cookie cutter business people don’t make long-lasting connections with clients and partners. In Danny’s opinion, the “image” some convey on social media is all due to insecurity. It is that insecurity that breeds the lies that can be discovered so easily online. He says often, in the beginning, he would write a list of his mess ups both the tiny and ginormous and post them for people to read. Legitimately everything. Sharing the journey brings people with you. Danny also shares a great story of traveling with his family to Europe, escaping the most terrifying moment of his life, and an embarrassing story about defecating in a bush. “I want to do what I want to do.” “Pour yourself into your brand.” “Sell the truth.” “It might be bad for business . . . I don't care.” - in regards to sharing the struggles “Some people don’t reach their potential because they’re scared to be found out.” “We all have good and bad traits and when we share them we connect.” “A lot of people are afraid to share because they don’t want to look bad. It doesn't work like that.” “Be all that you are because you are enough.” Claire's LinkedIn Profile The Expert Focus Facebook Group The Expert Focus podcast on iTunes Buy Danny and Liz's book here VIP Life Website VIP Life YouTube Channel

Since the beginning of the years, I have learnt lots on this podcast journey. What I have discovered is that meaning and living a good life is available to all of us. My guests are living proof. But how do you and I get there? I am stepping up and taking the journey, and I would like you to come with me. You will discover more on the programme or by joining the email list at life Passion and Business .com This week's guests is a young family man who is living the dream with his wife Liz and their 3 Children. Does that sound corny and what do I mean by young. At my age anyone under 40 is young. Danny Clark is in his 30th year and to some extent, he has done all of the traditional life journey and found it wanting. He felt controlled and unhappy. On leaving education, he became a council surveyor, he did well and that could have been a job life, but the routine ground him down. It was the start of the feeling of being controlled and unhappy. His solution was to quit and go travelling. They say travel broadens the mind and in this case, it was true, it changed his thinking. On his return, he went back into the world of work. He explored estate agency, Insurance, Recruitment and eventually, he entered the financial services industry. Somewhere on that journey he got married and had three children. Life was good, he had over ten years of experience in the direct sales and achieved considerable success both personally and professionally. But he and Liz had a dream of a different life with more freedom; they saw an opportunity in Multi-Level Marketing. Before you groan, this is not a pitch for MLM or a particular company; it is the story of how they bucked a system that did not want to be bucked. Danny and his wife Liz achieved huge success in the MLM industry, earning multiple incentives and being recognised as being in the top 1% of the company. They did this by dumping the usual routine and using normal business practice. The company hated them for not following the system and pushed them out. Not wanting to lose what they had gained Danny and Liz used the techniques they had developed to build an online coaching system for people in the MLM space. In the last 12 months alone he has personally recruited 624 members to join his coaching programs. Using the power of online platforms and social media Danny and Liz have created an income that is not bound by their location. After many years of feeling controlled and being unhappy. He is now living the dream and travels the world full time with his wife and family.
