Unfortunately, there is plenty for David Waldman and Greg Dworkin to talk about today, Fortunately, we get to hear them say it. Today, if you find you're still having difficulty deciding on whether your trolley would be best routed over 10,000 frozen zygotes or a baby, you just might be a Republican trying to figure out how to hold onto your job, because of course, no actual normal human would have this quandary. No normal people attend CPAC. Nex Benedict's death following Libs of TikTok rhetoric was just blood in the water for them. Tennessee now senses this is the time to take out Obergefell. Donald Trump won the South Carolina primary, as the polls continue to show he's big with his base, but not so much otherwise. Even a few Trump supporters might be stripped away if things get worse for him. Well, that too is how Republicans tend to see Joe Biden, and they have Putin on their side... On the other hand, Dems have Nickki Haley fighting for them… Excitement, thrills, suspense, but most of all chaos comes to primary season for the Republican primary, and convention, in Michigan. The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party wonders which side Elon Musk might be on. Sure, Don Bolduc lied about voter fraud in 2020, and then lied about that, but isn't that what he is supposed to do? Don't confuse the baseless GOP impeachment push with the debunked one, although the authors wouldn't mind. Bill Barr's assignment led to a Biden impeachment effort based on a lie.

Friends,Apart from specific issues and candidates that motivated voters on Tuesday, two contrasting parties continue to emerge in America – one, pro-democracy; the other, anti-democracy or neofascist. The hallmarks of the neofascist party are its cruel nastiness and unwillingness to abide by election results. In other words: Trumpism. Both were on full display election night as Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake assailed the “cheaters and crooks” whom she claimed were running elections, “BS and garbage,” “incompetent people,” “propagandists,” and “fake media.”And as Rep. Andy Biggs joked that Nancy Pelosi was “losing the gavel but finding the hammer,” a crude reference to the attack on Pelosi's husband that left him with a fractured skull.Other GOP candidates and flaks hurled similar insults -- “Merrick Garland needs some new pantyhose,” “Beto [O'Rourke] is a furry,” Sen. Mark Kelly is a “little man” whose “ears don't match,” President Biden is a “lost child” with a “very dirty diaper,” Democrats are “lunatics.”Contrast this feculence with Tim Ryan's graceful concession speech in the Ohio senate race (I've pasted the live version below). We have too much hate, we have too much anger, there's way too much fear, there's way too much division, and we need more love, we need more compassion, we need more concern for each other. These are the important things. We need forgiveness, we need grace, we need reconciliation. … I have the privilege to concede this race to J.D. Vance because the way this country operates is that when you lose an election you concede and you respect the will of the people. We can't have a system where if you win it's a legitimate election and if you lose, someone stole it. … We need good people who are going to honor the institutions of this country…. The highest title in this land is citizen, and we have an obligation to be good citizens. Or with John Fetterman's humble remarks after the senate race in Pennsylvania was called for him — when, wiping away tears, he told cheering supporters “I'm not really sure what to say right now, my goodness. I am so humbled, thank you so much …. This campaign has always been about fighting for anyone that ever got knocked down that got back up.” Fetterman had been knocked down last May with a near-fatal stroke — which invited ridicule from Trumpists such as Trump Jr., who told a Sunday-night crowd at a rally in Miami that “if you're going to be in the United States senator, you should have basic cognitive function. It doesn't seem that unreasonable to have a working brain … We're up against a Democrat party today that doesn't believe that a United States senator should not have mush for brain."Gratuitous cruelty, derision, nastiness — they are one of a piece with authoritarianism because they feed off the same anger and fear. They also fuel the hate and paranoia that are causing Americans to distrust our electoral system and one another. And they can fuel violence. When I was a kid I was bullied by other kids because I was so short. I remember the ridicule and the cruelty. The worst of the bullying, I later learned, came from kids who were bullied at home, often by abusive parents. So many Americans feel bullied by the system today — bullied by employers, landlords, hospitals, insurance companies, debt collectors, government bureaucracies, and the like — that they're easy prey for Trumpism. This isn't to excuse these people, but only to explain the likely source of their rage, and how the Trumpists are channeling it. And why it's so important to stop all forms of bullying in modern America — not only because such bullying is morally wrong but because its poison spreads throughout our society. The results of the midterm elections could have been far worse. The extreme grotesqueries of the Trumpist right were soundly defeated — Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, Maine gubernatorial candidate Paul LePage, New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc, and Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels (who promised if elected that no Democrat could ever win Wisconsin again). Most election-denying candidates for secretary of state were defeated. As of Wednesday evening, Kari Lake was trailing her Democratic rival for Arizona governor, Katie Hobbs, by a hair. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (the freshman MAGA Republican from Colorado) was fighting to keep her seat, But Marjorie Taylor Greene was reelected, as was Andy Biggs, and many other election-deniers. And Trump himself seems intent on launching another run on the White House (and on American democracy) within the week. Not as bad as it could have been, but deeply concerning nonetheless. We are still on the brink. This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit robertreich.substack.com/subscribe
Sam and Emma break down the biggest headlines as the midterm elections approach this evening. Plus, they're joined by Amjad Iraqi, editor at 972 Magazine, to give us the state of play of what happened with the Israeli elections. First, Emma and Sam run through updates on Donald Trump's buildup to another presidential run, midterm early voter suppression attempts and the efforts to fight back, and early talk of potential Zelensky-Russia negotiations, before diving deeper into Tucker's recent expert coverage on why John Fetterman must die. Amjad Iraqi then joins as he gets right into assessing the recent election of perhaps both the furthest right and most stable government in Israeli history, before he steps back a few years to discuss the developments in Israeli politics that led us here, walking through the last decade of affiliation being defined around one's support of Netanyahu, despite rampant conservative beliefs even among the anti-Bibi coalition. After tackling the fermentation and growth of far-right Israeli politics – across the spectrum of Zionists –during the Bibi years, they parse through the fracturing of the Joint List alliance of the four Arab-majority parties and the role liberal Zionists played in the issue, as well as assessing the state of the labor and left parties in Israel. Jumping further back, they tackle the lasting reactionary impulses in the wake of the Second Intifada and the bolstered Islamophobia of the aughts and how it set the stage for Bibi's right to rise, and wrap up by exploring the central role of the Israeli judiciary in the current political moment. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma discuss the Democratic funding of Don Bolduc, Matt Walsh appears on Joe Rogan to show off his expertise (it is neither in queer psychology nor counting), and JR Majewski challenges Tim Ryan and Nancy Pelosi. James from Fort Worth discusses the employment of teachers ON election day, Sam from Youngstown grapples with his pessimism regarding tonight, Hunter from Atlanta discusses felon disenfranchisement, and Mike and Daniel from NY and Austin expand on midterm discussions, plus, your calls and IMs! Stuart Scheller served in the Marine Corps as an infantry officer for seventeen years. His five deployments included combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. When he was a Lieutenant Colonel, Scheller served as a battalion commander at the Marine Corps School of Infantry (SOI). In the summer of 2021, U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan. The withdrawal was poorly planned and hastily executed. The Taliban took over the entire country and surrounded Kabul airport. As Marines scrambled to secure the airport, a suicide attack caused the tragic deaths of 13 U.S. servicemembers. Frustrated by these events, Stuart Scheller felt compelled to speak out. He made a public video that criticized military leadership. Shortly after releasing the video, he was fired from his job as a battalion commander. He then publicly resigned from the Marine Corps and continued to be critical of both the military and Marine Corps leadership. As a result, he was placed in the brig and court-martialed before leaving the Marine Corps in December 2021. The public nature of his call for accountability stirred a lot of controversy. In the interview, we discuss his call for accountability as well as the following: What motivated Stuart Scheller to join the Marine Corps How he became disillusioned with the overall strategy in Afghanistan Moral courage and when it's time to speak up What was going through his head as he prepared to make his first public call for accountability How the actions of General John K. Singlaub in the 1970s influenced his criticism of General McKenzie Stuart Scheller's contrarian views to include his thoughts on General Mattis The movie Black Hawk Dawn, the publication Task & Purpose, and books by Malcolm Gladwell Scheller's current political causes to include his support for Senate candidate Don Bolduc in New Hampshire Check out the videos: Stuart Scheller's first video, second video (from the bus), and third video Stuart Scheller's website: https://authenticamericans.com/ Follow him on Twitter: @stuartscheller and Facebook Check out his book: Crisis of Command: How We Lost Trust and Confidence in America's Generals and Politicians Check out my recent article on accountability at The American Mind. Chris and Sean discuss new and emerging political poll numbers showing some candidates surging while others leveling off. Too many questions… Will a slumping Kari Lake hold on to be the next Governor of Arizona? Will surging Don Bolduc pull off a huge upset in New Hampshire against Dem Senator Maggie Hassan? Does a leveling-off JD Vance have what it takes to make it over the finish line in Ohio? Most importantly, the biggest question of the Election Season – Where is Mark Kelly?? Having never crossed 50% and spent untold godly amounts of $$, will Blake Masters pull off the upset? #Faith #Freedom #FreeEnterprise Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LightBeerDarkMoney/ Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lightbeerdarkmoney/ Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Twitter: https://twitter.com/LBDMshow Follow Light Beer Dark Money on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/light-beer-dark-money/ Link to the Light Beer Dark Money Blog: https://lightbeerdarkmoney.com/hypocrisy-and-the-aoc-oh-sandy/
It's a double-barreled edition of the New Hampshire Journal podcast, recorded just minutes after the WMUR-TV debate between U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan and her GOP challenger Gen. Don Bolduc. Cliffs Notes version: If it had been a fight, they woulda stopped it, only Hassan didn't show up prepared to fight. Bolduc dominated the debate and moved his improbable bid to defeat an incumbent U.S. Senator one step closer. Radio host Drew Cline of WFEA offers his take on the debate and what he sees as Hassan's fundamental flaw in the 2022 campaign. Then an extended conversation with four-term incumbent GOP Gov. Chris Sununu -- about abortion (of course), state government vs federal, how to have fun on the campaign trail, and why he might be the "Tom Brady of NH Politics." Or maybe not.Sponsored by Perfect Smiles of Nashua.

EPISODE 67: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) Since 2018 Republicans have spent at least $227 Million on TV advertising to get somebody to try to kill Nancy Pelosi and now we know how they finally got their money's worth with David DePape (2:15) They're not calling it a confession, but that's what it is (3:44) A confession to political terrorism versus the Democratic Party, engineered stochastically by the Republican Party. And every Democrat and every news organization that does not say that is an accessory after the fact (5:13) And this has all be inevitable since January 21, 2010 - since "Citizens United" when the Roberts Court ruled all curbs on how much money corporations could spend on political advertising illegal (10:33) What INFINITY MONEY would do to American politics, and America, was so obvious that night that even I was able to predict much of it on Countdown. If anything, I understated the impact (12:38) Which leaves us this question: if the corporations and the men who run them want more attacks on more Nancy Pelosis - who's going to stop them? B-Block (20:41) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Pearl in Nashville (21:25) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: On top of everything else, Clarence Thomas is an idiot, and the producers of "2000 Mules" have been jailed! (23:49) IN SPORTS: It's simple. The NBA is going to have to ban Kyrie Irving, We've had the traditional Philadelphia World Series rainout. And I called Hoberg Hoiberg but not Zoidberg (26:16) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Tara Reid can't tell hearts from diamonds. She and Anti-Vax Nut Sherri Tenpenny compete with Don Bolduc - who actually NAMED a school where he thinks this "Litter Box" nonsense is happening - for the honors. But Bolduc is the only one likely to be sued. C-Block (30:48) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I thought I had met Bill Maher 22 years ago this month. Turns out the date was much, much earlier. But it took 31 years and two near-fistfights to figure it all out.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma host Dave Weigel, author of the "Americana" newsletter at Semafor, to discuss the state of play less than 2 weeks out from the midterm elections. Then, they're joined by Matthew Film Guy! Emma and Sam first run through updates on the midterms, including Schumer's statement to Biden on the PA Senatorial Debate, and Don Bolduc's pivot against his pivot against election denial. Dave Weigel then joins as he dives right into the disconnect between polling and the actual state of democratic candidates heading into the midterms, exploring how the last few weeks have slowly revealed failures in the democratic messaging leading up to November. Stepping back, Dave, Emma, and Sam explore the particular failures of letting Republicans pretend the future of abortion isn't actually at risk (when Roe was actually overturned) while also allowing them to fearmonger around crime (when no major police departments were actually defunded). Parsing through the house races in New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, Dave looks at where and against whom the GOP was able to successfully center crime, before they shift the conversation to the Democrats' failure to consistently hit on any of their inflation talking points. Wrapping up the interview, Dave walks through the Democratic House seats that are seriously endangered, and why beyond losing the House, they're likely to drop the Senate as well. Matthew Film Guy then joins as he explores his recent bouts with Shingles and Marc Maron, before diving into his movie recommendations of Larisa Shepitko's “The Ascent” and “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” from Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Charlie Kirk praise Elon Musk's liberation of Twitter before diving into why the profit incentive in a world that isn't super pro-bigotry might not let that happen. Sam discusses his shadow ban from the Right Stuff (hopefully isn't plaguing other Divorcées like Prager), and Tyler from Washington discusses the Right's fear of debating Sam and why that fear doesn't extend to women and people of color. New Hampshire is a must-win state for Democrats in their campaign to keep control of the Senate. Sen. Maggie Hassan narrowly won her last race in 2016 by 1,017 votes. Recent polls show her ahead in the contest against GOP nominee Don Bolduc, a retired Army brigadier general. But with inflation and energy costs top of mind for voters in the purples states, both candidates are expecting the race to be close. This episode: voting correspondent Miles Parks, political correspondent Susan Davis, and congressional correspondent Deirdre Walsh.Support the show and unlock sponsor-free listening with a subscription to The NPR Politics Podcast Plus. There are only two possible outcomes two weeks from today. Either there will be a massive red tsunami that will give the GOP control of the House and the Senate along with multiple wins at the state level compared to few surprising losses, or we'll have a repeat of 2020. We know this because the polls are close in races that normally lean very much Democrat. Considering the polls are invariably tilted to favor Democrats by between 4- and 12-points, it's mathematically impossible for them to come out of this election without massive losses.Of course, this is 2022. This is the age of propaganda followed by voter fraud followed by gaslighting, just like we saw in 2020 and beyond. We've been seeing the propaganda in "neutral" corporate media for some time, but that would happen whether there was a plan to steal the midterms or not. We won't know how boldly they're going to manufacture wins for Democrats until after election day, but know this: If we see anything short of a massive red wave that gives full control of Capitol Hill to Republicans, we can blame voter fraud. The House of Representatives being turned over to Republicans is pretty much a foregone conclusion. Even with massive voter fraud, it's actually much harder to contaminate House races because the districts are smaller. It would take voter fraud operations in at least 20 districts across the country. To steal the 2020 election, they had operations in 8 or 9 districts that flipped the states necessary for Joe Biden to win.The Senate is a bit more challenging because there are far fewer races — 35 Senate seats compared to all 435 up for grabs in the House. Of those 35, most are already secured to be red or blue. There are only about a dozen races that are really in question. The four most likely races the Democrats could flip should all be won by Republicans. Ron Johnson should be safe in Wisconsin despite the race being currently called a "toss up." Ted Budd will win in North Carolina and J.D. Vance will win in Ohio. As for John Fetterman vs Dr. Mehmet Oz, that's the seat that has the best chance of being flipped to the Democrats. If it is, that would put them at 51-49.But there are six vulnerable Democrat seats and I can see at least four of them being flipped. As much as I like Tiffany Smiley, she will need some major help to beat Patty Murray in Washington. She's surging, albeit a bit late. Mark Kelly is vulnerable and if Blake Masters can ride the red wave properly he should flip Arizona. Joe O'Dea is a massive RINO so I think he loses to Michael Bennet in Colorado. Don Bolduc has a shot against Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire. That leaves Herschel Walker in Georgia and Adam Laxalt in Nevada. I believe both races will flip red.Smiley and O'Dea will likely lose, but I believe the other four seats will be flipped which, if Fetterman wins in Pennsylvania, would put the count at 53-47 for Republicans. That means I can be wrong about two races and the GOP still retakes control. If Democrats "miraculously" keep a 50-50 tie to give Chuck Schumer another round as Majority Leader, we can look to voter fraud in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada as the most likely arenas for voter fraud to have won out.Not surprisingly, those happen to be four of the states that many believe were stolen in the 2020 presidential election. On today's episode of The JD Rucker Show, I broke down why I believe there will be either a red tsunami or the election was stolen. There's actually a third scenario in which the Arizona and Pennsylvania races are the primary focus of voter fraud. The powers-that-be do not want Kari Lake or Doug Mastriano to win because they would have access to voter fraud information from 2020 that they would likely reveal to the world. Their races aren't just about stopping America First patriots from being in office. It's about continuing the gaslighting about the 2020 election.
1) Polling Numbers: GA - Walker +2 Wisc. - Johnson +2 Nevada - Laxalt - +2 Ohio - Vance +3 N.H. Another sign of cognitive loss. 4) Russian court rejects Griner drug conviction appeal 5) Adidas ends Kanye West endorsement deal over anti Jewish remarks 6) Driver arrested carrying 60 illegals across the border 7) Progressives pull embarrassing letter to Biden seeking for Ukraine to negotiate with Russia despite progress in war and war crimes by Russians 8) Former Defense Secretary Ash Carter dies at 68.
With only a few weeks left before Election Day, candidates are hitting the campaign trail here in the Granite State. Democratic incumbent Rep. Chris Pappas and his Republican challenger Karoline Leavitt met to debate for the first time this week. So did incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan and retired Army Gen. Don Bolduc. NHPR reporters Josh Rogers and Todd Bookman join Morning Edition host Rick Ganley.
Tulsi Gabbard endorsed Don Bolduc, who was angry at Joe Biden for not wanting to go hard enough against Russia. I go over why I supported Tulsi for President, and what I think of her endorsement. SHOW LINKS: https://linktr.ee/ReedCoverdale
Howie talks the attacks on GOP candidates Don Bolduc and Kari Lake, accusing them of being the Democrats' new favorite word: "election deniers." Election deniers...like Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams? Lake had some awesome media come-backs to both that accusation and others. Then, Grace is back from Ireland, so tune in for Hate Mail Tuesday!
Gen. Don Bolduc and Tulsi Gabbard join the show to talk about campaigning in New Hampshire and her ditching the Democrat party. Plus Howie reacts to the Chumpline!
Viewpoint This Sunday with Malcolm Out Loud – Biden says inflation 'will go up' if Republicans take control of Congress. Senator Ron Johnson on the economy, immigration, energy, recession, crime, and the Jan 6th committee? It's being called ‘Bloody Friday,' by far the deadliest government crackdown in Iran. And then Biden's comments on Armageddon with Russia. Gen. Don Bolduc is running a tight race for Senate in New Hampshire; he will discuss those stories, and will the midterm elections be safe and secure?

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, the Democrats are a criminal's best friend. Looking at what they've done with our streets, with our border, and our government. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas lies about the border security of this country in order to do the dirty work of Biden's Officials Susan Rice, and Ron Klain. They didn't hesitate to conjure up a narrative about racism back when border agents were charged with whipping Haitian immigrants, but the photographer (an eyewitness) has revealed that Mayorkas knew the photos were being taken out of context hours before making his initial statements and spreading Biden's big lie anyway. This was proved today by emails obtained by a Freedom Of Information Act request. Then, another bombshell revealed in open court in today's Danchenko trial was that the senior FBI officials traveled overseas to offer ex-spy Christopher Steele $1 million for the dossier that they knew was fake. Special Counsel Durham personally walked jurors through this phony information which was used by the FBI to obtain a FISA warrant to conduct surveillance on Trump and his campaign. The dossier was initially paid for by Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democrat National Committee through a law firm they hired for opposition research. The Democrats within the FBI and the media are the real insurrectionists. Later, the convention of states must be grasped and enacted. Isaiah Berlin's thoughts on liberty are staples that must not be forgotten. Berlin's concept of positive and negative liberty is that negative liberty is the absence of obstacles, barriers, or constraints. Positive liberty is the possibility of acting — or the fact of acting — in such a way as to take control of one's life and realize one's fundamental purposes. Afterward, Don Bolduc from New Hampshire joins the show to discuss his campaign for the US Senate. Bolduc says that his opponent has outspent him by $23 million thus far spreading lies to smear his campaign. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Over the past three election cycles, Robert Cahaly of the Trafalgar Group has emerged as the most trusted GOP pollster in America, predicting races -- like Trump's 2016 victory -- nearly everyone else missed. He just dropped a poll from the NH Senate race and he talks to host Michael Graham about the mood of the Granite State electorate (not good) and the prospects that a wild-card candidate like retired Gen. Don Bolduc could beat incumbent Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan (better than you think.)And Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan joins the show to talk about the current state of the GOP and whether there's a path for a moderate governor from a blue state to be a 2024 POTUS contender. He also throws down on Biden's college debt bailout and NH Democratic Party chair Ray Buckley's controversial comments about parents.Enjoy!
Sam is back, and he and Emma break down the biggest headlines of the day. Then they are joined by Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President at the Quincy Institute, to discuss the recent widespread demonstrations in Iran. First, Emma and Sam walk through updates on the upcoming Fed-induced recession, the Secret Service's secret dealings in the wake of January 6th, and the mass walkouts among Virginia High Schools in opposition to Youngkin's anti-trans legislation, before diving deeper into the contents of the Continuing Resolution, whether Manchin's permitting reform will end up on the cutting room floor, and parse through the details of AG Ken Paxton's great escape from being subpoenaed. Trita Parsi then joins as he situates the current uprising in Iran, beginning with the story of Mahsa Amini, who died in the custody of the regime's “Morality Police,” why her death struck such a nerve, and touching on the greater economic disaster, general repression, and wide-scale corruption that pushed the population to this point, before walking through the various groups that make up the protests, exploring why the role of young people and the aid of the middle class has been central to the developments of these last few weeks. Next, they discuss where this departs from other large-scale protests in Iran that we've seen, between 1979 and 2009, parsing through the absence of a real leadership structure today alongside a regime very unlikely to flee. After a discussion of the failure of the regime to garner the faith of their populace, focusing solely on fear and control, and why the state wants to make the murder of Amini about her Kurdish identity, they wrap up the interview by looking at the differences between how Obama's Administration reacted in 2009 and how Biden's has today, and establishing whether or not we could see this effect the future of a nuclear deal. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma talk with Sergeant Marx of Atlanta on the suspicious rerelease of Elijah McClain's autopsy report, why it tries to pin the fault on the paramedics, and what the role of ketamine actually could've played. Bernie is confronted with the GOP's priorities (as listed by Rick Scott), starting with saluting the flag, of course, and the crew watches Fox News hosts rally behind the election of Italian Fascist Giorgia Meloni, with Tucker, Trey Gowdy, and Ben Domenech bringing up points such as “she won an election, that makes her a moderate.” Zach from Illinois talks MAGA-Communism and why fascists are courting kids with leftist tendencies, Stephen Crowder continues his demented tirades on the side of rape culture, and Don Bolduc discusses the difference between his views today, and his views when he declared without a doubt that the 2020 election was stolen, plus, your calls and IMs! HERSCHMANN SINKS TRUMP A BLOCK (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: Eric Herschmann may be today's John Dean. In 2021 he warned Trump to return all the classified documents he took with him. Because Trump ignored his advice that gives prosecutors a smoking gun (3:35) Because the Espionage Act requires the perp to have "WILLFULLY" concealed the stolen secrets (3:50) And 18 US Code 2071 also says any convicted "SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM HOLDING ANY OFFICE UNDER THE UNITED STATES." (4:32) Herschmann has already testified against Trump at the House 1/6 Committee and is to testify to a Federal Grand Jury. (5:31) And Trump's handpicked 'Special Master" Raymond Dearie demands they tell him what Trump claims to have declassified and when, sending Trump's lawyers into a panic (7:53) While Trump is only worried about where Biden sat at Queen Elizabeth's funeral service and even in that, he inadvertently admits Biden is president, and he isn't (9:12) Meanwhile: Told you so: The DeSantis Migrant Kidnapping disaster is being investigated as a crime in Texas. B BLOCK (14:00) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Colson (15:22) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Sad sack New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc steps in it; GOP threatening to investigate its beloved U.S. Chamber of Commerce?; And what does TV news do, now that Elizabeth has finally been buried? It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma host Heather Digby Parton, contributing writer at Salon.com and proprietor of the blog Hullabaloo, to round up the week in news. Then they are joined by David Feldman of The David Feldman Show! Sam and Emma begin by tackling updates on Trump's special master, the state of the Freight Rail strike, and the horrendous stunts by GOP Governors with migrants, also diving into Trump's appearance with Hugh Hewitt. Then, Digby joins as they get into situating Trump's relationship to the rest of the GOP heading into the midterms, particularly in the wake of backlash to 1/6 and the Dobbs decision, and dive into what Trump's role in the Republican party agenda might be (contrasted with DeSantis'). They also look at the long-term progress of the Republican agenda, with folks like Cheney and Chief Justice Roberts developing their neocon theories under Nixon and Reagan respectively, before diving deeper into the potential Presidential aspirations of Abbott and DeSantis (as shown by their human trafficking stunts), and looking at the wide-scale Republican backlash to Lindsey Graham advancing their agenda, with talking heads from Kirk to Walsh complaining that America just isn't read. Wrapping up, they establish why the progression of the GOP agenda is working against its own progress (because it's horrific), and what their play will be heading into the midterms. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma are joined by David Feldman as they tackle the devastating state of London, England in the wake of the Queen's funeral, also discussing the dangers of the Windsor Bosom, and anti-semitism on a broader level. Sam and Emma also reflect on the GOP's rapid backtrack, watching JD Vance's self-immolation on abortion, and Don Bolduc's 4-week 180º on the biggest part of the Trump agenda (the Big Lie), before watching Dave Rubin fantasize about the horrors of his children's future, and Matt Walsh wistfully wax about the Hollywood standards that brought us such classics as “Friends,” and “Seinfeld,” plus, your IMs! Ben and Producer Chris Schrage riff on a week's worth of news. Starting with...the remarkable flip-flop of Don Bolduc, MAGA candidate for senator in New Hampshire, who miraculously realized that Biden won the election after all. Also, the curious case of various CEOs discovering crime in Chicago after pretending it never existed during the Daley/Rahm years. And Dave Glowacz--AKA, Mr. Bike--talks biking in Chicago. New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc won the Republican nomination after months of campaigning on false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump. A little more than a day later, he attempted an about-face.
Joe Osgood is here wearing his Don Bolduc 2022 t shirt. He talks about his support for the General, I explain how political advertising works, how is Joe's streaming TV going, Martha's Vineyard getting illegal immigrants, Bascom Road's blueberry farm, and more
Republicans propose a nationwide abortion ban, MAGA candidates win the year's final primaries in New Hampshire, and a Republican political stunt fails when Massachusetts residents rally behind a group of immigrants sent there by Ron Desantis. Then Senator Maggie Hassan stops by to talk about her race against MAGA candidate Don Bolduc, and later Jon defends his title as the reigning champion of Two Takes and a Fake.
Don Bolduc, who's embraced Trump's election denialism, wins key Senate GOP race in New Hampshire. Listen for more details. To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy
Emma is back! Sam and her break down the biggest headlines of the day. Then they are joined by Mike Duncan, host of the Revolutions podcast, and author of the recent book Hero of Two Worlds: The Marquis de Lafayette in the Age of Revolution. Sam and Emma run through updates on the Nurses' strike in Minnesota, the DOJ going Oprah-mode with their subpoenas (you get one!), and what state primaries we will see today, before diving deeper into the GOP's history of pushing the DOJ towards corrupting their reporting of voter fraud, exploring how Trump and Barr took a page out of George W. Bush's book in their treatment of a US Attorney in the Southern District of New York. Next, they jump into the recent freight rail strike across multiple unions in the US, exploring the horrendous working conditions (including NO sick leave) that spurred this action, and debating where Biden's NLRB will fall on this fight (and the massive impact that could have). They also discuss Lindsey Graham's federal abortion ban proposal, the absurdly stupid timing of it, and how it gives away the game in the GOP's long-term plans to get rid of reproductive care, taking on the impact it might have in the leadup to the midterms, what the goals of the two parties are in these elections, and why the discourse around abortion has so benefitted the Democrats. They wrap up the news day by touching on the recent case accepted by the Supreme Court, Talevski v Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, and the impact it might have on Medicaid and the administrative state. Mike Duncan then joins, as he situates how his study of the Democratic revolutions of the 18th and 19th Centuries brought to the fore the role of THEE Marquis de Lafayette in these wars, traveling from revolution to revolution to deploy his expertise against the British and French ruling class. Duncan explores the patterns the revolutions of this era saw, the importance of a divided working class, and how Lafayette fits into these systems, before a smaller conversation on what the revolutions of these eras actually entailed. Wrapping up, they have a broader discussion of revolutions, including those Duncan has written about in the past, and the systems and structures that lead to them, situating where the current US And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Glenn Greenwald continue to pitch Democrats caring about the rise of fascism as “Leftist Hypocrisy” and an attempt to “punish dissent,” with Tucker and Hannity clinging to the danger of “investigating” things, and have a greater conversation about the corrupt role of American intelligence and the necessary role of the IRS. Multi-Ivy alum Ron DeSantis comes out against four-year private education (presumably in preference of the 8-year Yale-Harvard track that he took) and a Minnesota republican asks for more nuance in his ability to vote “Yes” or “No, struggles to add it (largely due to “Maybe” votes not existing), and Don Bolduc, NH Senate GOP Favorite, takes “abolishing the Senate” to a whole new level of “abolishing the right to vote for your Senator,” plus, your calls and IMs! Don Bolduc is an advocate of Donald Trump's Big Lie. Gov. Chris Sununu is among those hoping he doesn't win Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.
New Hampshire's GOP Senate primary pits a mainstream candidate, Chuck Morse, against a retired general who has voiced conspiracy theories, Don Bolduc. So why are Democrats spending money to help Bolduc? Because they don't think he can beat Sen. Maggie Hassan. Plus, new figures show that consumer prices rose 8.3% year over year, which is not good news for Joe Biden. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

But sometimes lost in the discussions about strategy and tactics is the human element of the story.Retired U.S. Army Gen. Don Bolduc served 10 tours in Afghanistan and knows what daily life was like for our troops."This was lost at the higher levels ... unfortunately the Afghan government and military and national police have responsibility here, but not the men and women that served in our military for 20 years and went over there repeatedly," says Bolduc. "They did their job, they did it well, they did it with honor and the sacrifice out there. Their friends and family members did not go in vain despite what you're seeing today."Bolduc joins "The Daily Signal Podcast" to discuss his experiences on the ground, and what we can do for our troops coming home.We also cover these news stories:Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says there will be many congressional inquiries into what happened in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's deposed president Ashraf Ghani is currently sheltering in the United Arab Emirates on humanitarian grounds. The Texas Democrats who fled the state capital to block the vote on an election bill could now be arrested for doing so.
