We explore the concept of pathology—not as a label of dysfunction, but as a way to better understand how our past experiences influence our present actions and emotional responses.Joining me is Dr. Fred Moss, a seasoned psychiatrist and holistic transformation coach with over 45 years of experience in mental health. Fred shares his insights on how the stigma surrounding mental health can lead to avoidant behaviors and emotional suppression. He emphasizes the importance of recognizing that we are not defined by our past habits; rather, we have the agency to make adaptive choices in the present.Throughout our conversation, we discuss the impact of subconscious biases and the introspection illusion, which can distort our self-perception and hinder our emotional well-being. Fred highlights the significance of mindfulness and self-awareness in breaking free from these patterns, allowing us to navigate our emotional landscapes with greater clarity and agency. We also touch on the role of human connection in healing, asserting that genuine relationships can facilitate profound transformations. By fostering a sense of belonging and understanding, we can overcome feelings of isolation and disconnection.Key Takeaways: Empower Your Now: You are not a prisoner of past habits; each moment is an opportunity for change. Connect to Heal: True healing flourishes within human connection and resonance. Mindfulness Matters: Practicing present-moment awareness helps break negative cycles. As we continue our discussion, we challenge conventional beliefs about mental health and medication. Dr. Moss sheds light on the realities of psychiatric medications, revealing how they can create chemical imbalances rather than resolve existing ones. He emphasizes the importance of understanding that anxiety and depression may not stem from inherent imbalances but arise from the pressures of life and societal expectations. Throughout our dialogue, Dr. Moss articulates crucial insights that encourage listeners to rethink their relationship with anxiety and mental health treatment. We explore the notion that many emotional struggles are framed as personal failings, when in reality, they are human experiences that we all encounter. Dr. Moss argues that it's essential to acknowledge and embrace discomfort as a natural part of existence, moving away from the belief that one must be in a constant state of happiness to be valuable or fulfilled. We delve into the implications of the current healthcare system, where therapists often feel compelled to refer patients to psychiatrists when conventional methods fall short. This dynamic can lead to a reliance on medication, which may provide a false sense of relief that often masks more profound issues. #Anxiety #Depression #MentalHealth #Medication #MentalHealthAdvocacy #SelfExpression #Creativity #Therapy #Healing #SelfHelp #MentalWellness #MindBodyConnection #EmotionalHealing #AlternativeMedicine #PersonalGrowth #Mindfulness #WellnessJourney #DrFredMoss #AnxietyCoachesPodcast #MentalHealthEducation #WellnessCommunity, #ACP, #GinaRyan, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast Learn more about your ad choices. Together, we explore the profound importance of human connection in healing and how communication can transform mental health struggles. Dr. Moss, affectionately known as the "Undoctor," shares his journey of disillusionment with the conventional psychiatric model that often prioritizes diagnoses and medication over genuine human interaction. He recounts a critical turning point in 2006 when he decided to step away from the traditional practices he found misaligned with his core values. Instead of merely categorizing patients and prescribing medications, he sought to create impactful conversations that foster healing. His experiences with thousands of patients convinced him that true recovery stems from connection, not isolation. We delve into the flawed narrative surrounding psychiatric medications, discussing how they frequently exacerbate the very symptoms they're meant to alleviate. Dr. Moss emphasizes the need for individuals to recognize that experiencing anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges is part of the human experience, rather than indicating a fundamental problem with oneself. By shifting this perspective, he believes people can reclaim their power and approach their mental health from a place of wholeness rather than deficiency. #MentalHealth #Anxiety #Depression #Psychiatry #HolisticHealing #CreativeExpression #TrueSelf #SelfCare #HumanConnection #MentalWellness #MedicationFree #EmotionalHealing #AlternativeMedicine #HealingThroughArt #AnxietyRelief #MentalHealthAwareness #UnDoctor #PsychiatricMedications #SelfExpression #CreativeArtsTherapy #HealingJourney Learn more about your ad choices. Dr. Fred Moss is a mental health advocate, psychiatrist, Holistic Transformative and Life Optimization Coach, author, speaker, founder of The Welcome to Humanity Movement, and host of The Healthy Healer Podcast. He is the author of two books, one titled “Creative8- Healing Through Creativity and Self-Expression,” and the other titled “Find Your True Voice!”  Dr. Fred describes how he was born into a home of chaos and disarray, and realized at a young age that he was born to bring love and joy into the family, and he also knew that one day he would be called on to be a communicator. His parents and two older brothers taught him how to read, write, and do math even before starting kindergarten. He also shares his unbridled enthusiasm and excitement about starting school as a young child, thinking he could practice his communication skills with open discussion and discourse with his teachers. He was wrong. Dr. Fred tells his journey of going from being a two-time college dropout to working in a state mental health facility for adolescents, which triggered his desire to become a psychiatrist. He returned to college to complete his undergraduate degree and go on to medical school. During this transition, he realized that as much as he loved psychiatry, he did not like being a psychiatrist, and knew that there had to be other options to help people with mental health concerns. We are delighted to welcome Dr Fred Moss to Mark MI Words. Dr. Fred Moss, a distinguished graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, stands as a stalwart figure in the field of psychiatry, boasting a career that spans nearly four decades. His journey, marked by an unwavering commitment to redefine the landscape of mental health, has led him to become a trailblazer in advocating for a more human-centered approach to healing. Initially drawn to psychiatry by the allure of exploring communication and human connections as primary tools for healing, Dr. Fred witnessed a paradigm shift in the 80s. A transformation within the medical community saw a shift towards diagnosing patients with biological and chemical imbalances, relying heavily on medications as the primary solution for life's distress. However, Dr. Fred, observing the potential harm caused by this approach, embarked on a groundbreaking mission to reclaim lives from the clutches of psychiatric diagnoses and medication. In 2006, Dr. Fred pioneered a new methodology, working closely with a select group of patients who sought an alternative path to healing. Remarkably, these individuals not only improved but, in some cases, saw their diagnoses completely vanish. This success ignited a series of questions surrounding the very definitions of mental illness and mental health, laying the foundation for Dr. Fred's evolving methodology. In this episode of the Healthy Healer podcast, hosted by Dr. Fred Moss, Monique Hoving-Smeets, a Canadian Certified Counsellor specializing in trauma therapy, unveils her groundbreaking T.R.I.P approach. With a background spanning multiple countries and languages, Monique's journey led her to develop a unique therapy method combining eye movements, attachment theory, parts work, and somatic processing. Through covering one eye at a time, Monique uncovers deep-seated traumas and disconnected parts of the self, offering profound insights into the brain's coping mechanisms and pathways to healing. Early research suggests promising results in resolving complex trauma and chronic somatic conditions. This episode delves into Monique's innovative approach and its potential to transform therapeutic outcomes.   Takeaway points from this interview: Monique Hoving-Smeets discusses her innovative "TRIP" trauma therapy approach that integrates eye movements, attachment theory, parts work, and somatic processing. By having clients cover one eye at a time, Monique discovered profound differences in how the brain and nervous system perceive the world based on past traumatic experiences.  Covering one eye can bring forward specific "parts" or ages from when traumas occurred, with conflicting drives to stay connected vs. protected playing out through the different eyes/parts. The approach allows accessing and integrating dissociated parts of the self that have been "stuck" and disconnected from present reality due to trauma. Monique shares striking examples of how covering each eye revealed vastly different perceptions, ages, and even lack of awareness of major life events for the same client. Early research is showing promising results in helping resolve complex trauma and chronic somatic conditions through this multi-component mind-body method. Monique expresses amazement at the brain's capacity for such profound compartmentalization as a survival mechanism, which her approach can begin to harmonize.   Links: Website: https://www.relationshipworx-therapy.com/biography Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008491397469 Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/monique-hoving-smeets-812b0426/   Show Notes: Alternative healing methods with Monique Hoving. 0:00 Trauma therapy and attachment-based approach. 0:56 Eye-brain techniques for processing trauma and personal growth. 5:51 Eye distortion and trauma's impact on brain and nervous system. 10:22 Eye movement therapy for trauma resolution. 14:35 Internal conflict and healing from trauma. 19:20 The impact of covering one eye on nervous system function. 25:42

In this enlightening episode of the Healthy Healer podcast, host Dr. Fred Moss engages in a captivating conversation with Dr. Rita Louise, a distinguished figure in holistic health and mind/body healing. Dr. Louise's journey, sparked by a childhood fascination with extrasensory perception, has evolved into a profound exploration of intuition, empathy, and clairvoyance. With decades of experience and a diverse background spanning naturopathy, psychology, and the esoteric arts, Dr. Louise illuminates the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through her unique insights and remarkable abilities as a medical intuitive, she offers invaluable guidance for reclaiming health and overcoming obstacles. The discussion delves into her latest book, "Bang! It Was Me All Along," a transformative narrative that empowers individuals to break free from negative patterns and embrace personal growth. Dr. Louise's wisdom resonates deeply as she shares practical advice and illuminates the path to wholeness and fulfillment.   Key takeaways: From a young age of 12, Dr. Rita Louise became fascinated with extrasensory perception and psychic abilities, inspired by figures like Kreskin. This led her on a lifelong journey of studying intuition, empathy, and clairvoyance. After studying at the Berkeley Psychic Institute, she discovered she had strong intuitive gifts. Her specialty is sensing people's health concerns and the underlying emotional/mental roots of their physical issues. This led her to get a degree as a naturopath and a Ph.D. in natural health counseling, focusing on how thoughts and emotions impact health. She believes chronic illness often stems from toxic thoughts or limiting emotions. Her new book "Bang! It Was Me All Along" chronicles her journey to overcoming negative thinking patterns, rumination, and toxic relationships to find happiness and contentment. It provides a roadmap for personal growth based on her experiences. As an empath, she struggles with energetic overload in public places like Walmart. But she sees her gifts as existing on a spectrum that everyone has access to, just expressed to different degrees. While excited about AI's potential, she cautions against over-reliance as it can't truly grasp the depths of a person's soul, emotions, and motivations the way human empaths and intuitive can. A desire to help people be real and heard has been the driving force leading him to multiple settings and roles as a psychiatrist over the years and compelling him to continually look for better, more effective ways to provide the highest quality care to align people with their most authentic self to deliver into an eagerly awaiting world. @https://welcometohumanity.net/ #MentalHealthMatters #HealingJourney #AuthenticHealing #MentalWellness #MindfulHealing #DrFredMoss

Host Dr. Fred Moss explores the transformative journey with Karen Maloney, a Breathwork & Mindset Coach known as the 'INSIDE OUT Coach.' Karen shares her insights on healing from within, emphasizing the crucial role of the relationship with oneself in manifesting external change. Trained in various modalities, she discusses overcoming childhood trauma, high-functioning anxiety, and the power of embracing the full spectrum of emotions. The interview unveils Karen's unique coaching approach, integrating spiritual, bodily, and mental elements to facilitate profound inner shifts. Listeners will gain valuable takeaways on self-love, emotional well-being, and the transformative potential of conscious inner work.   Here are some key takeaways for this podcast interview: Karen sees herself as a spirit having a human experience. She believes we are all part of the divine consciousness experiencing this 3D simulation game.  Childhood trauma left Karen feeling emotionally shutdown, not good enough, and with high functioning anxiety for most of her life. A traumatic breakup was the catalyst for her to start doing inner work. As an "inside out" coach, Karen focuses on the spiritual, the body, and the mind. This includes working with inner talk, beliefs, emotions, nervous system regulation, somatic work, etc. to facilitate inner shifts.  Karen uses techniques like tapping, silent counseling, breathwork, and visualization to calm the nervous system, release blocked energy, and change limiting thought patterns. Silent counseling specifically uses muscle testing and acupressure. Shutdown/freeze mode gives a sense of safety but prevents us from fully feeling and connecting. Karen says the gift is to feel the full spectrum of emotions. Joy and happiness are our natural state. People may reach out for coaching when they feel chronically bad, after traumatic events, or just to progress their life in some way. The presenting problem disguises deeper inner issues.   Karen believes life is a gift. By moving beyond our pains, we can create anything we desire but we have to consciously shape our inner world. Loving ourselves is key.   Links: Website: https://www.karenmaloney.com/  Awakened Flame Breathwork Community - https://awakened-flame.mykajabi.com/breathwork  Free Empower Your Morning EBook: Available on the homepage of the website. With over 45 years of experience in the field, Dr. Moss has dedicated his career to helping people find their true voice and providing high-quality care. Dr. Moss has traveled around the world, studying mental health practices in different cultures and sharing his expertise through podcasts, workshops, and coaching sessions. He is passionate about promoting authentic communication and connection as the foundation for healing and personal growth. Episode Summary: In this episode of The Chris Voss Show, host Chris Voss interviews Dr. Fred Moss, a psychiatrist and mental health advocate. Dr. Moss shares his journey from being a childcare worker to becoming a psychiatrist and his realization that authentic communication is the key to healing. He discusses the impact of psychiatric medications and the importance of finding one's true voice. Dr. Moss introduces the concept of the Moss Method, a holistic approach to mental health that focuses on gratitude, mindfulness, nutrition, and other factors that contribute to overall well-being. Listeners are encouraged to embrace their authentic selves and connect with others on a deeper level. Key Takeaways: Authentic communication is more powerful than agreement. Speaking from our true selves allows for genuine connection and opens up space for others to be authentic as well. Many people have learned to pretend to be someone they're not in order to protect themselves, but this can lead to feelings of disconnection and unhappiness. The Moss Method, developed by Dr. Moss, emphasizes gratitude, mindfulness, nutrition, and other practices that promote overall well-being and help individuals align with their true selves. Psychiatric medications can be helpful for some individuals, but they can also cause imbalances and perpetuate symptoms. It's important to consider alternative approaches and explore the root causes of mental health issues. Finding one's true voice and speaking authentically is a powerful form of healing. It allows individuals to connect with others on a deeper level and embrace the full range of human experiences. Notable Quotes: "Being authentic and speaking from our genuine core values and inner self allows us to be free from the burden of pretending and remembering who we're supposed to be." - Dr. Fred Moss "Authenticity is even more powerful than agreement. Even in times of disagreement, speaking authentically creates a space for genuine connection and understanding." - Dr. Fred Moss "When we connect with others and share our authentic selves, healing takes place. It's a reminder that we're not alone in our experiences." - Dr. Fred Moss

Her holistic approach includes personalized support with testing, nutrition, Qigong, and trauma release. Sarah emphasizes the interconnectedness of autoimmunity and burnout, urging listeners to shift mindsets and address root causes for improved energy and recovery. The interview highlights the importance of support groups and practical self-care implementation in the journey to reclaiming one's life.   Here are some key takeaways from the podcast interview: Sarah overcame 20+ years of severe chronic fatigue by addressing trauma and reconnecting spiritually to transform limiting beliefs.   She sees CFS and fibromyalgia as nervous system imbalances often rooted in adverse childhood experiences that disconnect mind, body and spirit. Sarah meets clients where they are with customized support - testing, nutrition, practices like Qigong, trauma release, ancestral healing and more to enable recovery. Autoimmunity and burnout also overlap; seeing conditions wholistically, not just as isolated physical symptoms, is key yet commonly lacking.  No matter what medical opinions one has heard, improved energy levels and recovery are possible through shifting mindsets and addressing root causes. Support groups bringing accountability also motivate implementing self-care, not just a theoretical luxury.     Links: Email: hello@sarahreesevans.com FB: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100046013180197 Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarah-rees-evans-5386801a7/ Website: https://chronicfatigueacademy.com/about#/   Show Notes: Chronic fatigue, spirituality, and healing. 0:06 Trauma, abuse, and forgiveness. 5:02 Early childhood trauma and its link to chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia. 10:38 Chronic fatigue syndrome and nutrition. 15:09 Chronic fatigue syndrome and inner child work. 17:30

Welcome to "The Healthy Healer" podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Fred Moss. Through sustained conversations, we delve deep into the journeys of healers who've found their purpose after personal transformation. Many enter the healing profession with aspirations only to grapple with reality—endless training, unexpected responsibilities, and even disillusionment. But there are those who rise above, harnessing personal healing and rediscovering their passion. Our podcast features these inspiring souls who've returned to the healing profession, stronger and more aligned than ever. Join us for riveting conversations that shed light on the true essence of healing and the incredible individuals who've redefined their paths.   Here are some key takeaways from this episode: - Eva Vennari's mission is to dismantle the status quo of the "sickness industry" through alternative healing modalities like mineral balancing and alchemy.  - She believes symptoms are not the root problem, but rather what's allowing the symptoms to occur. Her approach is to create a new "ecosystem" in the body to heal. - She uses hair mineral analysis to uncover mineral imbalances and relationships in the body. Balancing minerals is foundational before exploring other spiritual and energetic modalities. - Self-love and sovereignty are central themes in her work. Helping people reconnect to who they were before incarnating supports healing and empowerment.  - She offers multi-faceted programs like Reveal, Restore, and Essential Love to support mineral balancing, clearing hexes/curses, and cultivating self-love. Her new Ascension program integrates all three. - She cautions against following health fads and trends, and instead recommends focusing on authentic living, proper rest, clean eating, exercise, and loving oneself. - Her mission is about "healing humans" by listening deeply and guiding people to become empowered in their health and lives.   Links: Eva Website: https://theelevateinstitute.com/meet-eva/ Eva FB: https://www.facebook.com/TheElevateInstitute Eva LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/reducemystresseva/ Eva IG: https://www.instagram.com/evaheals Eva YT: https://www.youtube.com/user/NutritionalBalancing   *****   Show Notes: Holistic healing and alternative medicine. 0:10 Holistic healing and ancient wisdom. 4:24 Spiritual healing and releasing attachments. 9:10 Using pendulums for decision-making and personal growth. 15:00 Self-care, healing, and personal growth. 18:59

Our podcast features these inspiring souls who've returned to the healing profession, stronger and more aligned than ever. Join us for riveting conversations that shed light on the true essence of healing and the incredible individuals who've redefined their paths.   Here are some key takeaways for this follow-up episode: - Dr. Fred finds alternative health practitioners compelling because they seem to have an "inside track" on facilitating true healing, often through ancient modalities.  - He notes that what is now called "conventional" medicine is actually relatively new, whereas many alternative practices are ancient and time-tested. - Alternative practitioners like Eva take a whole-person, root cause approach rather than just treating symptoms. This leads to healing on deeper levels.  - Eva uses techniques like hair mineral analysis, alchemy, tarot, and pendulums to get to the core issues. She sees interconnectedness between physical, emotional, and spiritual health. - Her own journey to healing after being very sick led her to believe in the body's innate ability to heal itself if given what it needs. She rejects limited mainstream approaches. - Eva and other alternative healers provide the listening, constitutional analysis, and customized protocols to facilitate transformation and optimal wellness.  - Dr. Fred believes human connection is central to healing, and Eva fosters this while also using other modalities. Her focus on self-love is key. - He finds Eva very compelling as someone driven by both deep wisdom and support from the metaphysical realm. Her multifaceted approach is making a real difference.

PEG Podcast With Dr. Fred Moss Mental Health Advocate/Psychiatrist Unmasking mental health beyond diagnoses Biography Dr. Fred Moss is a mental health advocate/psychiatrist serving in many capacities: keynote speaker, psychiatry expert witness, podcaster, mental health coach, and teacher. A desire to help people be real and heard has been the driving force leading him to multiple settings and roles as a psychiatrist over the years and compelling him to continually look for better, more effective ways to provide the highest quality care to align people with their most authentic self to deliver into an eagerly awaiting world. He is the amazing creator of Welcome To Humanity, The True Voice Course, Healing the Healer, and Global Madness. As the founder of the Welcome to Humanity movement, and the True Voice Mastermind and methodology, Dr. Fred now finds himself making the difference he came here to make. His years in the community, where he has been a physician to over 40,000 patients, and his storied and adventurous life traveling around the world has left him uniquely qualified to remind us of what we already know. Communication is where love arises from, and speaking the truth and listening authentically is the source of that love. Dr. Fred is married to his dream partner, Alexandra, and lives in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas in Northern California. He is the proud father of two beautiful children in Texas and is owned collectively by his three cats, Valentino, Despacito, and Winston. He is the author of "Creative 8 - Healing Through Creativity and Self-Expression" and "Find Your True Voice!". He has written many articles for Psychology Today. Also, he has won an award for the best essay at the 2019 Conference for Global Transformation, titled "Global Madness, What Must Happen to Unite.” Fred has also led many courses in True Voice Podcasting, taking people from zipped-lip to podcaster in 12 short weeks. His most recent course is titled "True Voice Course" and is intended to help people who know they have something to say, to rediscover what that really is and get it out into the world. His most recent work is centered around the healing of the healers, aptly named Healing the Healer. The brilliant virtual course reminds the transitioning healers of the world that are released from their official position of a doctor, nurse, social worker, or clinician of any type, which may not be the trauma that they are likely feeling. In fact, it may be an opportunity to reset, rediscover and reenter the healing world in a new capacity, profoundly more aligned with themselves than they have ever been. A mastermind of like-minded individuals is also offered to capitalize on the essential power of community to assist when making significant paradigmatic shifts.
