In this episode of Metalology, the hosts of Metalology discuss the Finnish Metal Monsters that are Lordi. Lordi is a Finnish hard rock and heavy metal band. Formed in 1992 by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume maker Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu), Lordi are known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single "Would You Love a Monsterman?", and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah".Lordi has toured and recorded actively since 2002, and Mr Lordi upgrades the band's costumes and masks for each album. The band has gone through several line-up changes with Mr Lordi being the only consistent member of the band since their foundation. Members of Lordi have stated their desire for their unmasked faces to remain private. However, they have made a number of unmasked appearances in several news outlets. SUBSCRIBE ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/N_W4x2SBySU?s...To follow our socials, tap our link right here: https://linktr.ee/MetrologyIf you wish to sponsor an upcoming episode of Metalology, email us at metalologypodcast@gmail@.com or DM us right now for pricing and details.#Lordi #Metalology

Sam Ryder, Mr. Lordi, Teya and Poli Genova discuss writing for Eurovision, how it impacts their creative process, and how they handle nerves on stage. Sam Ryder was inspired to get into music after seeing Sum 41 in concert when he was 11. He took up the guitar after seeing Lordi win Eurovision in 2006, and was also influenced by David Bowie and Queen. He co-founded a band called The Morning After, and during the first Covid lockdown he started posting cover songs on TikTok, which caught the attention of Elton John, Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys. One of the songs he wrote during the pandemic was called Space Man; it went on to be the UK's 2022 Eurovision entry, finishing second behind Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra. Mr. Lordi is the lead singer and costume maker of Finnish heavy metal group Lordi. The monster mask-wearing band won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 with Hard Rock Hallelujah. Poli Genova's music career began aged 4, as a member of the children's ensemble Bon-Bon. Since then, she's represented Bulgaria at Eurovision twice, has appeared as a coach or mentor on The Voice of Bulgaria and X Factor Bulgaria, has had three #1 singles, and hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. Teya is one half of Teya & Salena, the first-ever female duo to compete for Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest. They're entering this year's competition with a song about being possessed by the ghost of Edgar Allen Poe.

On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Mr. Lordi, an amazing musician and artist known for his music, visuals, cinema, and artistry. Pipeman is impressed by Lordi's latest music video, Dead Again Jayne, and asks him about it. Lordi explains that the video is meant to look like an 80s cable TV horror show showcasing a 1930s old Universal horror movie. He directed and edited the video himself, and he had fun doing two different styles, the 80s cheap cable TV style and the 1930s black and white film style. Lordi reveals that young people today do not understand the concept of television and the old cable TV show since they have never experienced it before. Lordi shares that he has never been on social media and still lives in the 80s and 90s, and he acknowledges that these decades were the greatest. Pipeman agrees, and they discuss how technology has changed the artistry of music videos. Lordi believes that the magic of the videos is gone now that anyone can do it, and the charm is lost. Lordi also talks about one little detail from the video shoot where he noticed that younger film crew members did not know how to use a film camera since everything is now digital. Pipeman and Lordi continue to chat about various topics such as how Lordi likes to scare people and how he sees himself as an entertainer rather than a musician. Lordi also reveals that he is currently working on his autobiography, which he hopes to release soon. Overall, Pipeman and Lordi have a fun and insightful conversation about Lordi's latest music video, the evolution of technology and artistry, and Lordi's upcoming projects. The Rasmus edustaa vuoden 2022 Euroviisuissa Suomea laululla Vanhan testamentin Isebelista. Kisapaikasta oli mukana kilpailemassa myös Olivera kappaleella Thank God I'm an Atheist (”Luojan kiitos, että olen ateisti”). Vuonna 2006 Lordi voitti Euroviisut enkeleitä, demoneja ja pelastuksen sanomaa sisältävällä kappaleella Hard Rock Hallelujah. Euroviisujen tunnussävelenä on puolestaan varhaiskristilliseltä ajalta peräisin oleva hymni Te Deum (”Sinulle, Jumala”). Uskonnollisuus tuntuu monin tavoin olevan mukana Euroviisujen viitoittamalla ”matkalla kohti laulavaa Eurooppaa”. Mutta miksi ja miten? Mikä ylipäätään tekee laulusta uskonnollisen? Entä mitä ajatella Euroopan eri maiden yhdessä jakaman laulukilpailun merkityksestä aikana, jolloin Euroopassa kohdataan jälleen sodan kauhuja? Onko koko kisassa tällaisena aikana mitään järkeä – vai kaivataanko kriisiaikana Euroviisuja jopa enemmän kuin aiemmin? Vieraina ovat Suomea vuoden 1994 Euroviisuissa edustanut muusikko Virpi Kätkä, Euroviisujen virallinen kommentaattori Mikko Silvennoinen ja uskonnollista laulua tutkinut filosofian tohtori Jenni Urponen.

In this episode, our first double doctor, your well-cooked but still runny team take Eurovision into the crook of their arm to gives its hair a good-natured ruffling. Our official European correspondent Jon Rasmus Nyquist drops by to offer his local perspective, and together we insult Swedish people, compare meal sizes, and set our watches to DIARRHEA. Along the way, we swim in the deep end of Eurovision, discussing Alexander Rybak's "Fairytale", Dschinghis Khan's "Dschinghis Khan", Buranovskiye Babushki's "Party For Everybody", Herrey's' "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley", Sylvia Night's "Congratulations", and Lordi's "Hard Rock Hallelujah" and maybe some more i can't remember. The presence of our official European correspondent compels us to introduce ourselves and the show in a more substantial way than normal, though we fight valiantly against it. This episode is not brought to you by Smithfield Hams, which, despite our vocal and unsolicited support, is not even fit for dogs. Instead, this episode is brought to you by Hillshire Hams, the Lamborghini of ham.

Vincent Bueno kündigt sein Album „On the Run“ an. Es soll am 27. November 2020 erscheinen.
