Join us for a conversation with Chef Rossi about her memoir, The Punk Rock Queen of the Jews! It's a rollercoaster that whisks you through a world bursting with rich characters, uproarious dialogue, vivid snapshots of the Orthodox community and the gritty, pulsating 1980s New York City scene -- raw, on the edge, but gloriously alive. Rossi was raised in a conservative Jewish family, expected to toe the line, marry right, and play by the kosher rulebook. But at 16, she flipped the script, blossoming into a rebellious renegade, craving adventure over conformity. And just as she tasted freedom, her parents swooped in, yanked her away, and dropped her off with a Chasidic rabbi in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Rossi has been published in outlets including The Daily News, The New York Post, Time Out New York, and McSweeney's, to name a few. She has been the food writer of the “Eat Me” column for Bust magazine since 1998, hosts her own hit radio show on WOMR and WFMR in Cape Cod called Bite This, now in its nineteenth season, has been featured on The Food Network and NPR and has been a popular blogger for The Huffington Post. Joe Schoen met the media and said Daniel Jones is the quarterback when he's healthy but they still need another QB. Maggie Gray talked about Bills fans throwing dildos on the field and Jets fans changing T-I-*-S. Gio does a Jon Heyman impression. In the final segment of the hour, Sports Illustrated is being accused of using A-I to create fake authors and using fake headshots for the authors. Hour 1 We had another brutally boring football game last night between the Vikings and Bears. Boomer said it's because there have been 50 different starting quarterbacks this year. Even though we have been complaining about how bad the product has been, we are still watching. There's also a lack of hitting in practice which leads to poor play in the games. Boomer also said the majority of players coming in from college are not prepared for the pro game, particularly at quarterback. Even Patrick Mahomes sat for a year before he played. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with sound from last night's boring Monday night game. Rex Ryan said Brandon Staley should go back to Division III football. Gio wonders what Bill Cowher does with his free time and imagines him out clubbing in NYC. Joe Schoen talked to the media and didn't say much. Bill Simmons had a strange way to describe the Eagles season thus far. It involves Milton Berle. In the final segment of the hour, the Mets hired Scott Havens as President of Business Operations. They are going to try and build a casino over by Citi Field.  Hour 2 Giants GM Joe Schoen met the media and he was asked so many questions about the draft even though they are still ‘in the hunt' and the draft is so far away. He was also questioned about allowing Leonard Williams to decide if he wanted to go to Seattle. How involved should NFL owners be in the job of the GM? In the final segment of the hour, Sports Illustrated is being accused of using A-I to create fake authors and using fake headshots for the authors. Eddie found an old memo from Mark Chernoff back in 1999 about putting ‘Eat Me' as the screen saver.  Hour 3 Would the Jets move on from Rob Saleh after this season? Probably not, because Aaron Rodgers seems to like him. Frank Reich was fired by the Panthers yesterday, the second straight year the Panthers fired a coach before he finished his first year. Callers wonder how Saleh survives after how bad he has been in his two years. A caller is upset at how Italians are being portrayed by the media with Tommy DeVito's success. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the boring Vikings/Bears game from last night as Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were thankful when it ended. Russell Westbrook got into it with a fan last night and talked to the media about it after the game. Jerry ran into Tony Paige at the Rutgers basketball game last night. Sonny Gray signed with the Cardinals and Erik Kratz claimed Larry Rothschild was the reason he wasn't good with the Yankees. In the final segment of the hour, we got a handwritten note from Luke, a young kid who came to visit us on the show a few weeks back. A caller who claims to be best friends with the DeVito family said it's been a great ride for the family.  Hour 4 Gio's wife can't believe Al Roker has to do weather both in the morning and at night. Gio looked it up and he makes $10 million a year. Boomer wants a job like Jimbo Fisher, where he gets let go and still makes $76 million. Gio asked Al who's running the NY Rangers and Al said, ‘Gunther'. A caller said Tommy DeVito saved the Giants season, at least making it watchable. Boomer was in the bathroom and heard somebody wipe three times and he thought it was a lot. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and Boomer reads what Chat GPT said about him. Jerry starts with the Bears beating the Vikings in a boring MNF game. Mike McDaniel met with reporters and had fun with someone about the offensive line. Gio is in a Twitter fight with someone named Zach Braziller of the NY Post. He has had enough of the schmucks attacking WFAN. He called them ‘soapbox media a-holes'. The Moment of The Day involves Maggie Gray getting ‘dumped out' of her own show because of her salty language. In the final segment of the show, Boomer has his stat pack out with Bill Belichick info. We talked about Belichick's future with the Patriots and where he might go.

Readers, lit agents, and publisher reactions have me convinced this is the start of something big and things will only be improving from here on out. Denizens of the night; welcome to another episode of the macabre-- the terrifying! Broadcasting live from a decommissioned tank surrounded by things that want to EAT ME, I will be your guide through the witching hours! Tonight, we'll spend some time with a lonely person keeping watch in a lonely place. My heart goes out to those people with necessary, but terrible jobs, and this one takes the cake. Close your eyes and imagine our scene—night is falling slowly over the ocean, and a soft breeze is sifting through the branches. Happy families seem to be packing up quickly at the nearby nature park, spooked by a feeling they cannot name. Through the empty hallways of a forgotten building nearby, a voice echoes. But no one else but us is around to hear it. This story is called: "I work at an abandoned military base. I know there's something they aren't telling me." And was written by Jamie Polizzi. Chazz brings you episodes 3 and 4 of his record review YouTube Channel! This week is Metallica - Black Album and Marilyn Manson - Eat Me Drink Me!! Please subscribe to the Podcast and The channel at Chazz's Rock Record Review!!Chazz shows off the 2021 pressing of Metallica's self-titled album (The Black Album). And he gives his honest review of the music!!Metallica (commonly known as The Black Album) is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on August 12, 1991, by Elektra Records. Recording sessions took place at One on One Studios in Los Angeles over an eight-month span that frequently found Metallica at odds with their new producer Bob Rock. The album marked a change in the band's music from the thrash metal style of their previous four albums to a slower, heavier, and more refined sound.Metallica promoted Metallica with a series of tours. They also released five singles to promote the album: "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam", and "Sad but True", all of which have been considered to be among the band's best-known songs. The song "Don't Tread on Me" was also issued to rock radio shortly after the album's release but did not receive a commercial single release.Metallica received widespread critical acclaim and became the band's best-selling album. It debuted at number one in ten countries and spent four consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, making it Metallica's first album to top the album charts. Metallica is one of the best-selling albums worldwide, and also one of the best-selling albums in the United States since Nielsen SoundScan tracking began. The album was certified 16× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2012, and has sold over sixteen million copies in the United States, being the first album in the SoundScan era to do so.Metallica played Metallica in its entirety during the 2012 European Black Album Tour. In 2020, the album was ranked number 235 on Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.[6] In December 2019, Metallica became the fourth release in American history to enter the 550-week milestone on the Billboard 200. It also became the second longest-charting traditional title in history only behind The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) by Pink Floyd, and the second to spend 550 weeks on the album charts.[_______________________________________________________In this 4th installment of The Rock Record Review, Chazz breaks down the 2007 Marilyn Manson Release "EAT ME DRINK ME". This album has some killer guitar work and some real deep lyrics. It's a forgotten album and definitely a hidden gem!Eat Me, Drink Me is the sixth studio album by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was released on June 5, 2007, by Interscope Records. It was recorded in a rented home studio in Hollywood by lead vocalist Marilyn Manson and guitarist and bassist Tim Sköld, and was produced by Manson and Sköld. It was the band's first album not to be recorded as a five-piece, as John 5 departed from the group in 2004. Instead of replacing 5, Tim Sköld remained with bass and played guitar, and the band continued as a four-piece. Manson has stated that he sang most of the album lying down on the studio floor with his hands cupping the studio microphone, resulting in a very distinctive vocal sound. Of Sköld's compositions, a further two are said to have been turned into fully-fledged songs with lyrics, music and vocals completed but were not put onto album for fear of making it overwrought.[3]Upon its release, Eat Me, Drink Me was met with positive reviews from critics, and debuted at number eight on the US Billboard 200. The album was the last to feature band member Tim Sköld, and spawned two singles ("Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand)" and "Putting Holes in Happiness").

Milton's Musings Presents Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland Chapter 1 CHAPTER I. Down the Rabbit-Hole Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, “and what is the use of a book,” thought Alice “without pictures or conversations?” So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!” (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge. In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again. The rabbit-hole went straight on like a tunnel for some way, and then dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Alice had not a moment to think about stopping herself before she found herself falling down a very deep well. Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took down a jar from one of the shelves as she passed; it was labelled “ORANGE MARMALADE”, but to her great disappointment it was empty: she did not like to drop the jar for fear of killing somebody underneath, so managed to put it into one of the cupboards as she fell past it. “Well!” thought Alice to herself, “after such a fall as this, I shall think nothing of tumbling down stairs! How brave they'll all think me at home! Why, I wouldn't say anything about it, even if I fell off the top of the house!” (Which was very likely true.) Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end? “I wonder how many miles I've fallen by this time?” she said aloud. “I must be getting somewhere near the centre of the earth. Let me see: that would be four thousand miles down, I think—” (for, you see, Alice had learnt several things of this sort in her lessons in the schoolroom, and though this was not a very good opportunity for showing off her knowledge, as there was no one to listen to her, still it was good practice to say it over) “—yes, that's about the right distance—but then I wonder what Latitude or Longitude I've got to?” (Alice had no idea what Latitude was, or Longitude either, but thought they were nice grand words to say.) Presently she began again. “I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth! How funny it'll seem to come out among the people that walk with their heads downward! The Antipathies, I think—” (she was rather glad there was no one listening, this time, as it didn't sound at all the right word) “—but I shall have to ask them what the name of the country is, you know. Please, Ma'am, is this New Zealand or Australia?” (and she tried to curtsey as she spoke—fancy curtseying as you're falling through the air! Do you think you could manage it?) “And what an ignorant little girl she'll think me for asking! No, it'll never do to ask: perhaps I shall see it written up somewhere.” Down, down, down. There was nothing else to do, so Alice soon began talking again. “Dinah'll miss me very much to-night, I should think!” (Dinah was the cat.) “I hope they'll remember her saucer of milk at tea-time. Dinah my dear! I wish you were down here with me! There are no mice in the air, I'm afraid, but you might catch a bat, and that's very like a mouse, you know. But do cats eat bats, I wonder?” And here Alice began to get rather sleepy, and went on saying to herself, in a dreamy sort of way, “Do cats eat bats? Do cats eat bats?” and sometimes, “Do bats eat cats?” for, you see, as she couldn't answer either question, it didn't much matter which way she put it. She felt that she was dozing off, and had just begun to dream that she was walking hand in hand with Dinah, and saying to her very earnestly, “Now, Dinah, tell me the truth: did you ever eat a bat?” when suddenly, thump! thump! down she came upon a heap of sticks and dry leaves, and the fall was over. Alice was not a bit hurt, and she jumped up on to her feet in a moment: she looked up, but it was all dark overhead; before her was another long passage, and the White Rabbit was still in sight, hurrying down it. There was not a moment to be lost: away went Alice like the wind, and was just in time to hear it say, as it turned a corner, “Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!” She was close behind it when she turned the corner, but the Rabbit was no longer to be seen: she found herself in a long, low hall, which was lit up by a row of lamps hanging from the roof. There were doors all round the hall, but they were all locked; and when Alice had been all the way down one side and up the other, trying every door, she walked sadly down the middle, wondering how she was ever to get out again. Suddenly she came upon a little three-legged table, all made of solid glass; there was nothing on it except a tiny golden key, and Alice's first thought was that it might belong to one of the doors of the hall; but, alas! either the locks were too large, or the key was too small, but at any rate it would not open any of them. However, on the second time round, she came upon a low curtain she had not noticed before, and behind it was a little door about fifteen inches high: she tried the little golden key in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted! Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How she longed to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and those cool fountains, but she could not even get her head through the doorway; “and even if my head would go through,” thought poor Alice, “it would be of very little use without my shoulders. Oh, how I wish I could shut up like a telescope! I think I could, if I only knew how to begin.” For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible. There seemed to be no use in waiting by the little door, so she went back to the table, half hoping she might find another key on it, or at any rate a book of rules for shutting people up like telescopes: this time she found a little bottle on it, (“which certainly was not here before,” said Alice,) and round the neck of the bottle was a paper label, with the words “DRINK ME,” beautifully printed on it in large letters. It was all very well to say “Drink me,” but the wise little Alice was not going to do that in a hurry. “No, I'll look first,” she said, “and see whether it's marked ‘poison' or not”; for she had read several nice little histories about children who had got burnt, and eaten up by wild beasts and other unpleasant things, all because they would not remember the simple rules their friends had taught them: such as, that a red-hot poker will burn you if you hold it too long; and that if you cut your finger very deeply with a knife, it usually bleeds; and she had never forgotten that, if you drink much from a bottle marked “poison,” it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later. However, this bottle was not marked “poison,” so Alice ventured to taste it, and finding it very nice, (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) she very soon finished it off. *      *      *      *      *      *      *     *      *      *      *      *      * *      *      *      *      *      *      * “What a curious feeling!” said Alice; “I must be shutting up like a telescope.” And so it was indeed: she was now only ten inches high, and her face brightened up at the thought that she was now the right size for going through the little door into that lovely garden. First, however, she waited for a few minutes to see if she was going to shrink any further: she felt a little nervous about this; “for it might end, you know,” said Alice to herself, “in my going out altogether, like a candle. I wonder what I should be like then?” And she tried to fancy what the flame of a candle is like after the candle is blown out, for she could not remember ever having seen such a thing. After a while, finding that nothing more happened, she decided on going into the garden at once; but, alas for poor Alice! when she got to the door, she found she had forgotten the little golden key, and when she went back to the table for it, she found she could not possibly reach it: she could see it quite plainly through the glass, and she tried her best to climb up one of the legs of the table, but it was too slippery; and when she had tired herself out with trying, the poor little thing sat down and cried. “Come, there's no use in crying like that!” said Alice to herself, rather sharply; “I advise you to leave off this minute!” She generally gave herself very good advice, (though she very seldom followed it), and sometimes she scolded herself so severely as to bring tears into her eyes; and once she remembered trying to box her own ears for having cheated herself in a game of croquet she was playing against herself, for this curious child was very fond of pretending to be two people. “But it's no use now,” thought poor Alice, “to pretend to be two people! Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!” Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it, and found in it a very small cake, on which the words “EAT ME” were beautifully marked in currants. “Well, I'll eat it,” said Alice, “and if it makes me grow larger, I can reach the key; and if it makes me grow smaller, I can creep under the door; so either way I'll get into the garden, and I don't care which happens!” She ate a little bit, and said anxiously to herself, “Which way? Which way?”, holding her hand on the top of her head to feel which way it was growing, and she was quite surprised to find that she remained the same size: to be sure, this generally happens when one eats cake, but Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way. So she set to work, and very soon finished off the cake.

There are tough watches, there are tough fucking watches, and then there is Eat Me. In 2018, Jacqueline Wright brought her controversial play to the big screen, and the result is a pseudo-rape revenge film unlike anything you've ever seen. Join the Matts and special guest Jenn Adams (@jennferatu) as they discuss the fine line between exploitation and catharsis - and why, if you can stick with a rough start, you might find Wright's film to be a love story you can get behind.

Alice grows to nine feet tall after finishing the cake that says "EAT ME," and she can scarcely see through the doorway. She starts to weep, and a large pool of tears forms at her feet. The White Rabbit reappears, muttering something about a Duchess being kept waiting. When Alice tries to talk with him, he wanders away, leaving his gloves and fan behind. Alice takes the fan from the table and starts to fan herself. She considers the possibility that she isn't Alice at all, but rather someone else entirely. She begins reciting her lessons to see if she knows anything Alice is supposed to know. She discovers that she is wrongly saying the recitations and considers the possibility that she is not Alice, but rather Mabel, a girl she knows. Given Mabel's lack of experience, Alice thinks her frustration about the lessons must mean that she has somehow morphed into Mabel. Alice notices that the fanning motion shrinks her, so she fans herself down to a size that allows her to move through the door. Alice has lost the key once again, but before she can get angry, she falls into a pool of salt water. She initially believes she has sunk into the sea, but she soon discovers she is floating in her own tears. She meets a Mouse while swimming and asks for assistance. Since the Mouse doesn't understand Alice, she attempts to interact with him in French. She recites a line from one of her French lessons in which she inquires about a cat. The Mouse jumps in terror at the mention of the cat. Alice apologizes but then wanders off to talk about her cat, Dinah. The Mouse is annoyed, so she moves the topic to dogs. The mention of dogs frightens the Mouse even more, and he starts swimming away. Alice promises to stop speaking about cats and dogs. The Mouse swims back to Alice, advising her to follow him to the shore, where he can justify his hatred for cats and dogs by narrating his past. They swim to shore with other creatures that have sunk into the lake, including a Duck, a Dodo, a Lory, and an Eaglet. https://chimesradio.com http://onelink.to/8uzr4g https://www.instagram.com/vrchimesradio/ https://www.facebook.com/chimesradio/ Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/chimesradioSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alice was sitting on the bank, reading with her sister. Alice was lonely and exhausted when she saw a white rabbit running towards her. "Oh dear!" the Rabbit exclaimed to itself. Oh, no! I'm going to be late!" The rabbit then hurried up, pulling a watch from its waistcoat pocket. Alice had never seen a rabbit with a watch or a waistcoat pocket before. She followed the rabbit and saw it vanish down a wide rabbit-hole beneath the hedge. The rabbit hole continued like a maze, and she found herself slipping into a very deep hole. She inspected the well's sides and found that they were lined with cupboards and bookcases. Several thoughts ran through Alice's head, but she had no idea where she was. When Alice stands up, she notices the White Rabbit disappearing around a corner. Alice makes her way down a long corridor lined with doors. The doors are all closed, so Alice uses a key she finds on a glass table to test them. Behind a curtain, Alice discovers a small door. She tries the key once more and discovers that it leads to a passage and a garden. Since the door is much too small for Alice to fit through, she returns to the table in the hopes of finding something useful. On the table is a bottle labeled "DRINK ME." After checking the bottle to ensure it does not contain poison, Alice drinks the contents. Alice shrinks instantly, and even though she can now fit through the door, she discovers she has left the key on the tabletop high above her. She alternates between weeping and berating herself for crying before finding a small cake underneath the table with the words "EAT ME" written on it. Alice eats the cake in the hopes of going back in the same size. https://chimesradio.com http://onelink.to/8uzr4g https://www.instagram.com/vrchimesradio/ https://www.facebook.com/chimesradio/ Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/chimesradioSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
