Although a relatively fresh term being first defined in 2004, intralogistics is one of the concepts encountered by many business owners even slightly associated with the flow of materials/products within a facility And thanks to the downright enormous advances in digitalisation in recent years and the dynamic development of new technologies, companies can now optimize their logistics processes much more easily. This has allowed many new industry management concepts to develop, in the context of internal logistics processes, the most important of these is the so-called intralogistics 4.0. So what more can we expect from the intralogistics scene moving forward? Mike Nissen, Commercial Director, Hannover Fairs Australia shares more. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Helmut Prieschenk, CEO from WITRON, and Franziskos Kyriakopoulos, founder of 7LYTIX from Linz, discuss ChatGPT, machine learning in logistics and demand forecasting for food retail. Both agree. AI technology offers a wide range of optimisation potential - also for optimising processes in the distribution centre as well as in the entire supply chain. But not only high data quality is crucial. Likewise, the experience of the people as well as the requirements of the consumers must not be forgotten in the data models. Thanks for listening.

They have proven to be very popular with customers. Ultra-high frequency is now also an option, expanding the read/write distances up to 1.5 m. The housing size of the F191 is between that of the F190 and F192. It features an extended temperature range, degree of protection (IP67), and a highly competitive price. It is used in Intralogistics, automotive, Kanban, material handling, and factory automation applications. The devices provide protection against electrostatic discharge and enable bulk tag detection. In addition, several UHF parameterization settings are available. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, we talk to Thomas Kerkenhoff from EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr Stiftung & Co. KG and WITRON CEO Helmut Prieschenk. It's all about longevity and reliability of the systems. For many years, Thomas Kerkenhoff was responsible for logistics at EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr Stiftung & Co. KG, whose network includes the two highly automated distribution centers in Hamm and Oberhausen - and he is a man of clear words: "In order to operate a system economically successfully in the long term, you have to have a damn good team both at your logistics partner and on site, which is constantly working on the further development of the mechanical components and the software. But that only works if you also have a partner who has already installed a large number of systems in the industry worldwide and thus has extensive experience, expertise and references." Ho do you orchestrate your intralogistics operations when you have AGVs and AMRs from different vendors, traditional forklifts, conveyor belts and people working side-by-side in your warehouse and production facilities? Our guest today is Wolfgang Hackenberg, one of the founders of Synaos, a startup based in Germany that is building a hardware-agnostic intralogistics management platform. Together with our hosts Boris Felgendreher and Marco Prüglmeier talk about the following topics: - The short version of what Synaos is trying to accomplish with their integrated software platform to manage intralogistics operations - Wolfgang's background in the automotive industry and as a startup founder - The VDA 5050 interface standard and the role the automotive OEMs played in the development - Continuous realt-time optimization: How to calculation 250.000 solutions per second - The typical situation in toady's intralogistics operations with a very heterogenous landscape of hardware - The current and future capabilities of the VDA 5050 standard. How global is the standard and how does it compete internationally? - What criteria buyers should use to evaluate systems like the one Synaos develops - How much of intralogistics will be automated in the future vs. requiring manual intervention? - What the challenges are around integrating manual, analog systems and personnel with automation - Wolfgang's vision for logistics in the future - And much more Helpful links: Our supporters GreyOrange: https://www.greyorange.com/ Synaos: https://www.synaos.com Dr. Wolfgang Hackenberg on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/wolfgang-hackenberg/ Boris Felgendreher on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/borisfelgendreher/ Marco Prüglmeier on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/prueglmeier/
