www.iotusecase.com#GenAI #SmartManufacturing #PredictiveMaintenance Special episode recorded live at Hannover Messe: Together with Scott Kemp from SoftServe, we take a look at real industrial projects – including use cases from SCHUNK, Continental, and NVIDIA. The focus: smart data infrastructures, predictive maintenance, and practical AI applications on the shop floor.Podcast episode summaryHow can smart maintenance, AI, and global IoT infrastructures be put into practice – despite labor shortages and complex machinery? Scott Kemp, Head of Manufacturing Services, EMEA, at SoftServe discusses these challenges with Ing. Madeleine Mickeleit, sharing insights from projects with SCHUNK, Continental, and NVIDIA.SoftServe demonstrates how scalable IoT backbones and AI applications deliver real value – for example, an AI assistant at Continental that reduces MTTR and boosts OEE by 10%. With SCHUNK, SoftServe co-developed an IoT backbone spanning the entire machine portfolio, enabling end customers to perform maintenance with the help of assistive functions. This comes to life in the practical example from OptoTech: Product Owner Vineeth Vellappatt offers a look into an AI-supported grinding process on the SM80 machine – including error detection, parameter analysis, and concrete recommendations for action.Technologically, SoftServe combines structured sensor data with unstructured knowledge (e.g. SOPs), embedded into a RAG model for fast information delivery – implemented across Microsoft Azure, NVIDIA Omniverse, AWS, and more. Standards like OPC UA and Unified Namespace lay the foundation for scalability. At the core: compensating for knowledge loss, empowering new workers, monetizing services – and turning AI from a buzzword into productive reality. SoftServe follows practical frameworks like “Double Diamond Thinking” and Proofs of Technology instead of just POCs. The episode kicks off with a short impulse from Onuora Ogbukagu (Deutsche Messe AG).-----Relevant links from this episode:Madeleine (https://www.linkedin.com/in/madeleine-mickeleit/)Scott (https://www.linkedin.com/in/scottkempmba/)SoftServe (https://www.softserveinc.com/en-us)SoftServe Assessment (https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/consulting-services/softserveinc1605804530752.digital_shopfloor_rapid_2_days_assessment-preview?tab=Overview&flightCodes=6871e3e649584bd2862e2c7a0f379bd5)OptoTech Lösung (https://www.optotech.net/en/product/detail/sm-80-cnc-tc~op25967)Jetzt IoT Use Case auf LinkedIn folgen

Rev Lebaredian is Vice President of Omniverse & Simulation Technology at NVIDIA. We cover in detail the next-generation technology platform that NVIDIA is building, its Omniverse that promises to power an industrial metaverse and what it all means for creators, brands and businesses. We also cover special announcements coming out of NVIDIA'S GTC conference - Omniverse Cloud, an infrastructure service powered by a planetary-scaled system, and a partnership with Deutsche Bahn, Germany's national railroads operator and the largest rail network in Western Europe. The partnership focused on building an AI-enabled digital twin to develop Deutsche Bahn's future railway system. For those who are less familiar, since its founding in 1993, NVIDIA has been a pioneer in accelerated computing. The company's invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined computer graphics and ignited the era of modern AI. NVIDIA is now a full-stack computing company with data-center-scale offerings that are reshaping multiple industries. As we speak, NVIDIA's market value is over $300 billion. In his role the Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation Technology at NVIDIA, Rev leads the Omniverse product, engineering, and research teams. From the dawn of the computer graphics revolution to the present day, Rev has always been at its cutting edge. For the last five years at NVIDIA, Rev and his teams have been combining the rendering, physics simulation, and AI technologies pioneered by NVIDIA into a single platform for creating and simulating physically accurate virtual worlds: NVIDIA Omniverse. Prior to NVIDIA, Rev spent his career in Warner Brothers Digital, Disney Dream Quest Images and his own venture, Steamboat Software.

3D deep learning holds the potential to accelerate progress in everything from robotics to medical imaging. But until now, researchers haven’t had the right tools to easily manage and visualize different types of 3D data. NVIDIA Kaolin is a collection of tools within the NVIDIA Omniverse simulation and collaboration platform that allows researchers to visualize and generate datasets, move between 3D tools and retain basic functions for other users. NVIDIA AI Podcast host Noah Kravitz spoke with four NVIDIANs about their work on the platform, including Richard Kerris, industry general manager for Omniverse; Jean-Francois Lafleche, a deep learning engineer; Senior Research Scientist Masha Shugrina; and Research Scientist Clement Fuji Tsang. Kaolin includes both a library, which contains a growing number of GPU-optimized operations, and an app within NVIDIA Omniverse for interactive 3D data visualizations. The long-term goal is to make both facets so robust that users could import a photo that generates a highly developed 3D model without spending time on recreating the scene within a 3D platform.

In this edition of the Futurum Tech Webcast, my colleague Ron Westfall and I take a deep dive into the collaborative world of virtual reality and 3D simulations offered by NVIDIA's Omniverse. First announced as a beta version last fall, NVIDIA's Omniverse Enterprise is set to hit general availability this summer and has the ability to reshape the future of manufacturing and design, and perhaps much more. It's not unusual for technology companies to offer tools to help their customers get the most value of their products or services. But these tools are generally limited to configuration and optimization. NVIDIA's Omniverse suffers from none of those limitations and while it may help manufacturing and design teams better utilize NVIDIA's chip technologies the real value of the Omniverse is in helping manufacturers collaborative design, update, and improve their manufacturing operations. In this webcast we discuss: How the NVIDIA Omniverse looks a lot like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The role of Pixar's open-source Universal Scene Description (USD) software in the Omniverse. How the Internet of Things (IoT) and a concept known as a Digital Twin are making helping organizations create real-time virtual versions of the real-world, physical operations. How the Omniverse can help organizations improve factory and manufacturing efficiency and safety. The benefit of running simulations in the Omniverse and leveraging machine learning and predictive analytics to improve asset maintenance and availability. The five different components that make up the Omniverse Platform (the Nucleus, Connect, Kit, Simulation, and RTX Renderer). How the Omniverse allows real-time updates and collaborative changes to be distributed throughout an organization's supply chain and distribution ecosystems. As we wrap up our conversation, Ron highlights some of the core RTX technology that makes the Omniverse possible and discusses how NVIDIA is working with partners like Microsoft and how competitors like AMD might need to respond. And finally, we ponder the ultimate question, when will tools like the Omniverse allow us to not just model manufacturing but extend to the entire operations of an entire business, from the first supplier to the last customer. Forge for manufacturing. ¿Quieres escuchar otro episodio?
