Welcome back to The Nourished CEO Podcast! I'm your host, Laura Schoenfeld, and today I'm pulling back the curtain on something that's changing the game faster than anything I've seen in my 12+ years online: artificial intelligence. In this solo episode, I'm sharing exactly how I'm embracing AI in my business, not running from it. From the wild rise of AI tools like ChatGPT to the opportunities (and challenges!) they bring for coaches, consultants, and online service providers like you and me, I talk through how I've strategically decided to adapt and thrive. I'll also give you a behind-the-scenes look at the three major shifts I'm making—from using AI to multiply my content reach and client support, to elevating my ideal client avatar, to fully leaning into my personal brand like never before. If you've ever felt overwhelmed or unsure about where AI fits in your business, this episode will inspire you to see AI not as a threat—but as a tool to help you work smarter, serve better, and step boldly into your role as a thought leader.

As a fitness coach, it's really important to plan and create offers and programs that work for your clients. Although you can't guarantee that your client will follow your process perfectly, your offer should be easy and digestible enough for them to get it. But, more important than having a solid offer, is knowing how to sell it in a way that interests people, brings sales, and helps you maximize your income for good.  “It's a whole ecosystem of messaging. There are some very specific strategies and things that come first and things that come next, but I think the main thing is: showing people you understand the problem they are in and you understand what the transformation they want is.” – Laura Schoenfeld In this episode of Fit Biz U, Jill has a special guest to talk all things fitness and nutrition offers, best practices with online business, and how to increase sales based on marketing. Do you want to know the real myths and truths about fat loss? This episode will reveal the secrets of healthy and sustainable fat loss...in a way that honors your body. Are you absolutely positive that you’re getting enough nutrition to sustain your body? If your recent attempts at fat loss have resulted in negative physical results, you may not understand exactly what your body truly needs. Over the past several decades, so much information about health has been short-sided and generalized to the point that our current common knowledge base on nutrition may actually be harming our bodies’ systems and prohibiting weight loss or healthy lifestyles. According to today’s guest, Laura Schoenfeld, “one of the biggest challenges women face in any area of their life that they’re struggling [with] is mindset blocks that are preventing them from taking action in a way that would allow them to see results”. Schoenfeld further explains that we have false beliefs about behavior, which can be objective mindsets, but we also have subjective beliefs about who we are. To get healthier, BOTH areas of our lives must be addressed. Today’s episode goes into so much detail on how to get healthier from an entire mindset perspective first and then the specific details of your individual health needs second. Today’s Speaker: Laura Schoenfeld, RD Laura Schoenfeld (SHOW-IN-FELD) is a Registered Dietitian, coach, and women’s health expert trained in Functional Medical nutrition therapy. Her passion is empowering women to nourish their bodies, develop true strength, and ultimately pursue their purpose. Laura guides her clients in identifying and implementing diet and lifestyle changes that allow them to live a healthy, fit, symptom-free life without being consumed by thoughts of food and exercise. She draws from a variety of sources to form her philosophy on nutrition, including ancestral diets, principles of biochemistry, current research, and clinical experience. Recognizing that health goes way beyond diet and exercise, she teaches her clients how to focus on and implement life-changing mental and spiritual health habits as well. Her greatest mission is to help women realize they are more than a body, so they can move past health obsession, and focus on pursuing the purpose they were created for. When she’s not educating and serving her coaching clients and community, Laura loves traveling with her husband, Sundays with her church family, hikes with her dog, beach trips, live music, and heavy weight training. Welcome to the Fed and Fearless podcast! I’m your host, Laura Schoenfeld, registered dietitian, and I wanted to take a short episode to tell you what you’ll get from this podcast. Fed and Fearless is about living your best life. It’s about simplifying the process of becoming your healthiest self. It’s taking all that information overload we all get on a daily basis about our health and bodies and really breaking it down to what works… and what doesn’t. A big factor for me in creating this podcast is to help you change the way you think about your health. Health isn’t the number on the scale. Health is about what food you’re eating, how you feel, how you move, what your hormones are doing. It’s about your mental, emotional, and spiritual health. I ask each of my guests what it means to be more than a body. Because, yes, our body is important, but what’s even more crucial is how we feel, what we believe in, and who we are as a person. That’s where adopting a fed and fearless mindset becomes vital. I also might be one of the only podcasts and dietitians out there who brings my faith into my work and encourage you to do that, too. I’m introducing you to all the topics I want to cover, the incredible guests I have lined up to talk to, and how it’s all going to play out. Are you ready? Let’s get fed and fearless together. In This Episode: How you’ll live your best life How to simplify the process of becoming your healthiest self How to change the way you think about your health What it means to be more than a body What a fed and fearless mindset is What you’ll get out of listening to this podcast How you can incorporate your faith into your health   Quotes: “People are confused. People are stressed. People are feeling lost and they don’t know what their next step should be to take to get the health results that they’re looking for.” (1:51) “I help women change the way they think and act at a core belief level so they can transform their physical, mental, and spiritual health from the inside out.” (5:28) “I want to teach you how to use your health as a tool to fuel your purpose.” (8:01)   Links: Check out the full episode post here Join the Fed and Fearless Society on Facebook Keep up with everything Fed And Fearless here Follow me on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Pinterest

Food, Fitness, & Faith Believe it or not, but being malnourished in the fitness space is a very common problem, and Laura is working to fix that by spreading information and knowledge. You don't have to break up with sugar to be healthy, all it takes is understanding your cravings and balancing your micronutrients, macronutrients, and calories. Learn how to stop the binge behavior that has been ingrained into your bodies functioning, understand what your body needs both physically and spiritually to achieve optimal health, start looking at your health decisions as part of your belief system, and so much more. Sugar is not the enemy, negative self-talk and self-criticism are. Laura believes in creating a positive self-image that is not based on performance but instead based on your own sense of purpose. We all want to create a meaningful life that we look back on with fond memories, and being focused or distracted by your body image is not the way to achieve that When you have a sense of purpose, you can increase your physiological resiliency and in turn create healthy habits that are as easy as autopilot. It is time to start looking at your health decisions and understanding how it relates to your belief system in order to find the most minimal way to keep your body on track. That's not just an anecdotal thing, it is found in the research.” (40:52) “If we can switch that mindset of the typical belief that the more you do the better your results will be, I really like to switch that and say ‘what is the least I can do to get the results that I want to get’, and after that, it’s more just like bonus points if I feel like doing more.” (50:38) “Make sure that you aren't spending all of your time focused so heavily on nutrition and fitness and all that stuff. In Episode 057 of A Medicinal Mind: Wisdom and Wellbeing, I have a deeply nourishing conversation with one of the most authentic healers I know, nutritionist and women's health expert Laura Schoenfeld.   Laura has fascinating background, bringing a rigorous formal education in public health and dietetics into the world of integrative and ancestral wellness. Working alongside Chris Kresser to help mobilize the ancestral health movement through dogma and initial growing pains, Laura has been finding her own way beyond Paleo, incorporating her Christian faith and desire to help women find freedom and wellness outside of just food.   In this conversation, we begin by hearing about Laura's early childhood and her spiritual roots as well as her beginnings in the health space, expanding her interest in psychology from her undergraduate education into her pursuit of an education in public health and nutrition.   From there, Laura leads us deeper into the flowering of her faith, the origin of intentional and deep friendships that allowed her to accelerate her spiritual and personal growth.   Laura opens up about the process of bringing her faith and Christ into her work, sharing how she works professionally with individuals seeking to grow spiritually, all the while remaining authentic to her values every step of the way. Acknowledging her own spiritual challenges, Laura describes how she has found a personal and professional clarity coming from a foundation of faith. Expanding upon a personal Biblical verse, Laura shares how she has been able to value her own needs as well as others', and keep integrity to her clinical and personal approach.   And with that, let's dig into the show!   You can access more information and notes for this episode on our podcast page: https://www.amedicinalmind.com/podcast-wisdom-and-well-being/episode-057-laura-schoenfeld-mph-rd-finding-your-way-one-womans-deep-desire-to-pursue-wellness-helping-women-find-freedom-faith-health-and-joy   You can see all of our content including blogs, poetry, meditations, and our weekly newsletter at our webpage: A Medicinal Mind   You can also follow A Medicinal Mind on Facebook and Instagram   If you enjoyed the show, please subscribe with Apple Podcasts and leave us a review. Today's episode is SO relevant because with Andrew and my's 8-week fall fitness challenge, we are getting SO many messages and comments in our facebook group saying “I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M EATING THIS MUCH AND STILL LOSING WEIGHT” and then, before we started the challenge and everyone was just getting their plans, we had multiple panicked messages asking us if we made a typo or if we were sure the numbers were right because some people's recommended fat loss calories were HIGHER than they were used to eating but they weren't even seeing progress with them. It might sound like some magic fantasy world, but this phenomenon is VERY REAL and as a coach, I see this ALL of the time. Women are chronically under-eating, sometimes for decades, and it's not doing anyone any favors. When we first discover the connection between food and inflammation, it’s an empowering moment. The food we choose to eat can have a direct impact on our autoimmune symptoms, and that’s how food becomes medicine. However, sometimes the list of foods we remove grows and grows, and we make the mistake of thinking that food is the only cause of inflammation. It’s also common to not replace those calories with enough healthy foods that we can eat. This means we end up in a nutrition deficit. Today, I’m welcoming registered dietitian, Laura Schoenfeld, onto the podcast. Are you coming to Wise Traditions 2017? It's in Minneapolis, with some pregame events beginning on Thursday November 9th and the main conference running from Friday, November 10th through Monday, November 13th. I'm excited to see friends like Ben Greenfield and Laura Schoenfeld, to meet many other people I know only through the internet, and to spend some face-to-face time with lots of people who share traditional diets as a common interest. I'll be giving two talks, plus teaching an all-day interactive course on measuring and managing nutritional status. Here's what I'm doing: On Saturday, I'll be giving a talk on the role of protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins, and minerals in achieving an optimal hormonal balance. On Sunday, I'll be giving a talk "Methylate Your Way to Mental Health: Beyond Folate and B12 Supplements." On Monday, I'll be teaching an all-day interactive course called "Measuring and Managing Nutritional Status Masterclass." To register for the conference, go here. Please note that the Monday class on managing nutritional status comes separately. When you sign up, look for the "Monday Event Registration" header on the form, and change the dropdown menu from "No Monday Event Selected" to "Chris Masterjohn (includes lunch)." The Masterclass will take each of the essential nutrients, and cover both the "what" and the "why" behind the signs and symptoms of deficiency, the distribution in the diet, and the lab work used to assess nutritional status. It will consist of 10-15 minute chunks of lecture interspersed with questions that I'll give you. You'll vote on the answers with an app on your mobile device or laptop and we'll look at how people respond (anonymously in aggregate), often using the responses as a basis for discussion. You will have numerous opportunities to ask me questions about what we cover through the class and a more free-for-all-style opportunity to ask me anything at the end. Sound great? Register here! Register for Wise Traditions, 2017 Hope to see you there, Chris

https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/fearless Laura Schoenfeld, in addition to officially being the individual who introduced me to "fried pickles" at a recent Weston A. Price Foundation conference, is a registered dietitian trained in functional medical nutrition therapy. Her philosophy on nutrition is influenced by ancestral diets, principles of biochemistry, current research, and clinical experience. Through working with hundreds of clients, she has found that under-eating, overly restrictive dieting, inappropriate exercise, and inadequate attention to sleep and stress management is rampant in those trying to solve their health concerns through functional medicine and real food. Addressing these common but overlooked diet and lifestyle issues allows her clients to live their healthiest, fittest, symptom-free life, without being consumed by thoughts of food and exercise. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Prevention, Women's Health, and Reader's Digest. You can find her at or listen to her podcast, "", over on iTunes. During our discussion, you'll discover: -Why you shouldn't want "abs"...[8:35] -How Laura completely changed her training routine from "burning calories" to "lifting heavy stuff"...[18:00] -Why it's silly for people to be afraid of fruit and fructose...[24:45] -Why Ben personally moderates his red meat intake to just once every 2-3 days...[33:30] -What populations benefit from keeping red meat to a minimum and switching to a high-carb, high-fiber diet...[36:45] -What Laura learned from eating a Biblical "Daniel Fast" (and why the modern Mediterranean Diet is flawed)...[45:50 & 55:10] -The tool Laura uses to choose supplements and medications based on personal genetics...[63:13] -The one vitamin most people tend to be deficient in...[70:00] -And much more! Apple Frudel. Banana Chocolate Chip Bread. Cinnamon French Toast Bread. Blueberry Snack’N Waffle. Cocoa Puffs Cereal Bar. Cheerios Cereal Bar. Cinnamon Pop Tart. Strawberry Splash Pancake. Super Donut. All these “food” items were taken from the breakfast menu for my nephew’s school. Presumably an expert designed this menu because it bares the logo of ChooseMyPlate.gov. If you can't trust the experts, who can you trust? How do you protect yourself from misinformation that has the potential to hurt you and your children’s health? There is only one way, and that’s to learn how to evaluate scientific evidence and think critically. Danny Lennon is a nutrition educator and critical thinker, and his Sigma Nutrition podcast is a powerful platform. As you can probably tell from his accent, Danny is from Ireland. After completing a degree in biology and physics, Danny worked as a teacher for a while before returning to the University of Cork to complete a master’s degree in Nutrition Science. After failing to achieve the results he deserved from training, Danny set out to discover the truth about what works in nutrition and health. His goal is to teach us how to be our own expert, to enable us to separate the brilliant from the misleading, even if the difference is more subtle than a Super Donut on your breakfast menu. If you’re listening to this interview, my guess is that you’re already an accomplished nutrition critical thinker. My question to you is how do we get this message out there more efficiently? Please let me know in the comments section below.
