What if you could have your cake, eat it—AND keep your blood sugar stable all in the same sitting? I know it sounds impossible, especially if you're feeling stuck in a never-ending loop of energy crashes and cravings.  But trust me—there's a way to make it work! And today, we're going to show you how. In this episode, Kara Collier, co-founder of NutriSense, Registered Dietitian (RD), and Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), joins me to break down the real-life power of using continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). She'll walk you, step-by-step, through the BEST way to track how your body handles food, movement, stress, and even those occasional sugar slips.  You'll learn how to use this simple metabolism-saving tool to turn daily habits like a quick walk or late breakfast into powerful strategies for boosting your energy, shedding unwanted weight and belly fat, and even reducing your risk of chronic disease.  If you've been wanting to feel more in control of your body AND use your meals to create lasting energy and resilience… This is the episode you've been waiting for! Tune in and get ready to transform your metabolism into an energy-producing, fat-melting powerhouse.  IN THIS EPISODE Discover how Kara uses CGMs to track food, movement, and even occasional treats like chocolate-covered pretzels. Learn why a quick burst of movement, like jump squats with your kids, can dramatically lower your glucose levels. Find out how stress, poor sleep, and late-night snacks can spike your blood sugar—and how to fix it. Get practical tips for timing meals to improve energy and reduce glucose spikes. Explore how hormonal shifts in midlife affect your metabolism—and what you can do to stay balanced. And more!  QUOTES "Any type of movement can really help your metabolic health and glucose control. So it can be really simple things... squats, walks, just moving throughout the day makes a huge impact."  "When we're eating meals, we want to see how high your glucose goes and how quickly it comes back down to baseline. That's really what you want to pay attention to."  "You can literally have your cake and eat it too. You just need to be mindful—whether it's with movement before or after, or adjusting your meal slightly, the flexibility is there." "Often, people think, 'I'll never eat cake again.' But actually, using tools like a CGM gives you the freedom to find what works for your body, instead of restricting everything."  RESOURCES MENTIONED NutriSense – Learn more about continuous glucose monitoring Kara Collier's Instagram: @KaraCollierRD RELATED EPISODES  #603: Embracing Womanhood, Cultivating Deep Connection and Nourishing Your Body to Metabolically Thrive with Dr. Mindy Pelz #602: The Right and Wrong Way to Lose Weight + Overcoming Panic Attacks by Feeling Safe in Your Body with Michelle Shapiro #601: The Food You Eat Will Impact Your Menopause Journey + Foods to Ease Menopause and Promote Longevity with Dr. Federica Amati #555: The Root Cause of Inflammatory Diseases and How To Get Metabolically Fit with Dr. Casey Means Learn more about your ad choices. They introduce listeners to intuitive eating, emphasizing body respect and mental well-being. This episode provides essential insights into overcoming heart health challenges and embracing a supportive approach to nutrition and body image. Tune in to learn how to nurture your heart and mind.A Little More About Today's GuestEden Morris is a Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian (LD), and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She is a former collegiate softball player turned mountain biker/skier who decided to become an RD after her diagnosis and experiences with Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs).She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University and combined it with a Master's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics through the Coordinated Program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.Eden internalized so many of diet culture's messages as a teenage girl and young woman, and she hit diet rock bottom hard at the end of her collegiate athletic career. 3 stress fractures in her left foot, osteopenia, secondary amenorrhea for 3+ years, and a wrecked relationship with her respective sport were the wake-up calls that finally snapped her out of the diet mentality. She realized she could never go on a restrictive diet again if she wanted a more peaceful relationship with food and her body, especially when she retired from competitive sport. She spent the next decade slowly internalizing Intuitive Eating principles, and now, she will tell you the best thing she has ever done for her health is heal her relationship with food. Eden aims to inspire others to recognize that a fueled body performs better than a starving body in all phases of life. She challenges everyone – in her mountain community and beyond – to not let the fear of food, fear of judgment, or fear toward anything else keep them from leading the lives they're meant to live. If you ask Eden, the keys to becoming truly fearless are eating more food around our activities, appreciating our bodies for what they allow us to do vs how they look, and moving our bodies in ways we actually enjoy.https://www.acc.org/Latest-in-Cardiology/Articles/2022/12/20/18/25/CV-Consequences-of-Relative-Energy-Deficiency-in-Sport#:~:text=Relative%20energy%20deficiency%20in%20sport%20(RED%2DS)%20refers%20to,%2C%20immunity%2C%20and%20protein%20synthesis.How to connect with EdenWebsite: www.tetonperformancenutrition.com/linksInstagram: @gardenofeden_rd ; @find.food.freedom**I am not a doctor and this is not

Happy Strong Healthy™ is not your average virtual nutrition coaching practice. It's built on the foundation that nutrition should not be a source of stress in your life. Food should make you feel good. Eating should be fun. And learning how to nourish your body with a “forever” mindset should be on your to-do list. My life's purpose is to help you quit dieting and fall in love with the way food makes you feel. Other than my 15 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, I'm qualified to help you because I was you. I obsessed over “wellness”  and tried every diet. I worked out for hours on end. I hated my body. Until I learned to eat to nourish my body, not to make myself smaller. And to love myself in that process. It's possible for you too. That's why we're here — to help you become your happiest, healthiest, and strongest self!

Chelsea and Sophie go into the difference between a Registered Dietitian (RD) and nutritionist. The main difference between an RD and nutritionist is that there's no standard/guideline for the definition of a nutritionist, while an RD has to go on to graduate school and or a dietetic internship along with passing an exam and in some states getting a license. There are so many different types of dietitians and you do not always need a reason to see one! Moral of the story - be mindful who you listen to and get information from. Listen for more!
