We have a sad update from the plane humper, find out you can be too drunk to arrest, and head to the falls which is now renamed as Roku City. We play Med/Dental/Law: the Actors edition, and plot to put the ZA in ResZAme. Support the show and follow us here Twitter, Insta, Apple, Amazon, Spotify and the Edge! Have you ever wanted to hear all the heavy in one place? From its origins onward? After the untimely passing of Eric Wagner (Trouble, The Skull), one of doom metal's most notable and esteemed singers and songwriters, The Skull bassist and bandleader, Ron Holzner, contemplated long and hard on whether it would be possible to carry on. Nine months and a lot of soul searching later, an idea was born. Alongside guitarist Lothar Keller (The Skull, Sacred Dawn) and drummer Henry Vasquez (The Skull, Saint Vitus, Blood Of The Sun), vocalist Karl Agell (Corrosion Of Conformity, Blind, Leadfoot, Lie Heavy) as well as vocalist Scott Reagers (Saint Vitus) and riff master general, guitarist Victor Griffin (Death Row, Pentagram, Place Of Skulls). And so LEGION OF DOOM has come to exist with an all-star lineup of doom's most prestigious figureheads, here to share their ultimate heavy truth, taking the genre from what is known into uncharted territories. Recalls Holzner, “I decided I want to honor the memory of Eric by playing songs that he crafted. I want his spirit to become eternal through his words and melody. And I also want to play songs from the catalogs of everyone involved.” Ron and Karl join Vernomatic and Metal Walt and share the process of how and why this much deserved project came about. The four discuss the history of all the members in this band and how it all ties together with the late Eric Wagner. LEGION OF DOOM will make its debut appearance at Legions Of Metal Fest in Chicago this June before heading overseas for a performance at Hellfest in France with more live dates to be announced in the weeks to come. You know the old saying, people in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones. I reckon it's worth remembering that before you have a crack at Mark McGowan and a bunch of his ministers for getting done speeding.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
MAGA Man Darren Bailey--the Republican candidate for governor--puts on his dancing shoes as he dances around questions about Donald Trump and Congressman Kinzinger. Is he a bigger fraud/chicken than Richard Irvin? Ben riffs. And Monroe Anderson returns to talk insurrection. He predicts Merrick "the Tortoise" Garland will get around to prosecuting Trump. Mark Wallace joins the conversation to talk Soldier Field and Mayor Lightfoot--or "Leadfoot", as the Sun-Times calls her--speeding through the city. It's more do as I say not as I do. Finally, the difference between Chicago Dems and MAGA. Hint--it has to do with not wanting the base to vote. This episodes begins with a special feature as we talk to Nick Roche, the writer of the new Last Bot Standing comic mini-series, about the new book and his time spent working on Transformers comics over the past 15+ years. Listen in to hear about the origins of the new story, details on the characters within and much more. Toy discussion topics with the regular cast of the show follow, starting out with a look at the upcoming Masterpiece Trailbreaker toy. Amazon's exclusive Wreck 'n Rule collection comes up next with all the reveals and preorders having hit throughout the week for toys such as Impactor, G2 Leadfoot, Springer, Twin Twist, Mr. Bones and another incarnation of Bulkhead that no one wanted. A brief chat about the new Studio Series figures headed our way leads into a talk about LEGO, who officially unveiled an Optimus Prime set that has fans buzzing. More toy repaint talk, a listener question about a hypothetical end of all Transformers comics and then bragging rights follow, but that's not the end of this one. For this special 300th episode, we dive deep into our memories and storage bins to figure out what our 300th most favorite Transformers is and why.
Since relocating to Melbourne and giving his band Larry Leadfoot a bit of a makeover in the process, drummer Nick Parkinson has experienced all of the highs and lows in a short amount of time – much like the fickle Melbourne weather. After successfully restructuring the band and playing a few East Coast shows, COVID did what it has done to musicians the world over and threw a stick in the spokes of the newly oiled machine, but rather than let it get the better of him, Parkinson decided to focus his energies on Larry Leadfoot and look inwards rather than take the conventional road of releasing new material. With the bands debut E.P Hellxotica still fresh in his mind, coupled with the fact he knew it was a better release than it had been given the chance to experience due to current events, Parkinson made the decision to re-release Larry Leadfoot's existing material in an effort to take it to a larger audience. That starts now with the (re) release of the single SWAB, which will be premiered through HEAVY on November 26.Nick sat down with us to chat about the music and the decision to re-release it."It starts off with a groove, but it's a very off kilter kind of, jilted... there's patterns that overlap each other with the beat. There's a word for that that I can't remember (laughs). When we were writing and coming up with ideas, I have never used Latin Beats in a song before, so I started learning latin beats from my teacher years ago and it occurred to me to try and chuck some of those in with some extreme metal which I hadn't heard too much of. We came up with these ideas that started flowing. We had our white board in there in the rehearsal space and constantly going over it every day until it smoothed out into a pattern that flowed. By the time it got to a couple of months in t felt like it was complete. it's like an extreme metal journey in a way.”In the full interview, Nick runs us through SWAB in greater detail, the decision behind re-releasing the E.P, future new music, getting back out on the road and more.
In this episode we have a wonderful discussion with a man who is both an artist on and off the canvas, but that canvas doesn't stay stationary for this man... oh no. Max Gordon aka Boy Leadfoot is a rock musician with a very distinguished style, coming all the way from Canada. We discuss current projects, future projects, music, and a very special invention that Max has been working on during the course of the global pandemic (Spoiler alert: they're hooves, but for people). We hope you enjoy this episode and also hope that you take a listen to Boy Leadfoot's original music, as he is currently making some of our favorite stuff that's coming out right now. Enjoy!
Van later joined The Actor’s Workshop, where she studied for two years in Studio City. To date, Van’s television credits include “Leadfoot”, an After-School Special, a reporter on "General Hospital," as well as a featured role in an episode for the long-running daytime television show, “The Bold and the Beautiful”. She also appeared on “The Gong Show” where she came in second place, as well as a number of TV commercials. In addition to her extensive list of accolades as a singer/actress, Van’s involvement in the entertainment industry spans to the business side, where she worked for Jonathan Dolgen, then President of the Fox Studios, as well as Renny Harlin, who directed “Nightmare on Elm Street”.In the fall of 1998, Van graced JET magazine as the September centerfold. Though, she feels her biggest accomplishments were when she became a member of the highly talented music spinoff, “The Platters.' Van also was a member of '“The Friends of Distinction”, “The Sounds of the Supremes” and “The Fifth Dimension”. While performing with the Supremes, Van appeared on numerous television shows in Australia and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Germany. Van returned to her music roots in 2008 when she and Kantor formed Smooch Music, Inc.Van and Larry worked for years with Shawn Rivera of La Face Records’ “Az Yet”, on recording Maya Angelou’s last project before her passing titled “Caged Bird Songs”, an album of her spoken word performances over hip-hop beats, and R&B and gospel tracks. The album was produced by RoccStar (Chris Brown, Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Lopez) and Rivera. Van has co-writing credits on most of the album. The single from that album, “Harlem Hopscotch”, yielded a music video directed and produced by Emmy Award winning Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo of NappyTabs, who have handled choreography choirs for “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Dancing With The Stars” and many music videos. The “Harlem Hopscotch” Video was produced with the help and production support of OWN Digital. This incredible album of music will bring the heritage and legacy of Dr. Angelou to younger people for years to come.Shawn Rivera is a Father of 3, lover of life. He still hasn’t stopped talking even though we switched off the mics and turned out the lights. Andy returns from New Zealand and regales us with tales from the Leadfoot festival, where for one weekend each year, Rod Millen’s driveway becomes ground zero for petrolheads. Could the Kiwi event put Goodwood on notice? He also explains why the local police want to ask him some questions about an Air BnB. And the boys say happy 50th birthday to Honda Australia and discuss their favourite models from the Japanese maker from the past five decades.

The RunRunLive 4.0 Podcast Episode 4-378 – End of Season Contemplation with my Coach (Audio: link) audio:http://www.RunRunLive.com/PodcastEpisodes/epi4378.mp3] Link MarathonBQ – How to Qualify for the Boston Marathon in 14 Weeks - Hello, and welcome to the RunRunLive Podcast episode 4-378, This is your dear friend Chris. How is everything going? I’m trying very hard to get back on my publishing schedule. To get back in balance. Not just because I believe consistency is a big part of quality in the product you consume here. I do appreciate your attention and I’m grossly aware of my duty! I also need to keep writing to keep my own creative furnace fueled – which is why I started doing this in the first place – partly to help people, and myself, become better versions of themselves by sharing some of the tribal knowledge I’ve accumulated over the eons that I’ve been a practicing amateur endurance athlete. But also to keep my communication skills tuned up – writing as well as reading this copy to you with as much gusto as I can recruit! Well maybe not gusto, but at least enviable sincerity. Today we catch up with my coach, Jeff. He and I talk through the ups and downs of my 2017 training season. I like to use myself as a test subject to see what worked and what didn’t. It’s always important to look back at your training, your successes and your failures, to see if you can learn anything. You’re never too old to learn. We talked for a long time. I’m going to edit it down to a reasonable size, but I’ll post the raw interview on the members feed. In Section One we will talk about over-training. How to realize when you’re getting over-trained, what the symptoms are and how to avoid it. In Section Two I’ll tell you 10 things you don’t know about me. Like one of those Facebook posts. It’s cold up here in New England now. We are in full on Winter. We’ve had some good snow to make everything festive. It’s below zero Fahrenheit this week. More importantly how is Buddy the old wonder dog? Well, he just turned 14 years old. Which is pretty damn old for a border collie. He’s and old man! His hips don’t work so well and he’s deaf but he’s still mentally sharp. He gets skinnier every day. Skinny old man. The kids dress him in sweaters this time of year. They use him as a blanket to stay warm when they’re watching TV. He is very warm. He is well loved. He barks a lot. Just like an old man, he wants to be heard and doesn’t have time for niceties. He’ll stand in the front yard and bark at the woods at night. Picture it as a 98 year old man in his underwear yelling at the coyotes to stay off his lawn. “…when I was a boy… we had real coyotes, not these namby pamby city coyotes they got now…” … I ran out of podcasts to listen to last week. I’ve been changing phones a lot and have lost some of the regular ones I used to listen to. Some house cleaning and some pruning. Podcasts come and go. It’s an industry now and the old amateurs like myself are the anomaly. I opened the app and was looking around and went to see what Steve was doing over at . The app sorted with oldest first, and I downloaded a couple of his marathon race reports from 2005. The BayState Marathon and the Cape Cod Marathon. Steve did a great job with those old podcasts. Compelling and interesting stuff. Really well produced. Entertaining. You can hear how much in love he is with his training and racing and the newness of the sport and the community. If you listen to the Baystate race episode you’ll hear my buddy Frank calling out Steve’s name at one of the first water stops, the one with the rock music playing. That’s the same Frank who ironically qualified at Baystate with me a few weeks ago. I wasn’t at the water stop in 2005. I was running the race. I think I ran both those races and came up short in both. I think that year I ran a race in Maryland around Thanksgiving to finally get my qualification. That was a year and a half before I started podcasting but I would have been in the process of publishing my first book of running stories, The Mid-Packer’s Lament, (which is still available on Amazon). I love that about the podcasting thing. Being able to capture a moment of time. Being able to freeze the river of time and that person you were. It’s a slice of self-awareness. That Steve didn’t know what the future would hold. That Chris didn’t know either. In our hopeful narratives we saw that moment as a waypoint on an upward slope into the future. I think the one important take away for me is to understand that today, this race, this fitness, this Chris is a unique thing and may very well be as good as it gets. Think about that. How would you run your race? How would you live your life if today was as good as it gets? Seize the day. Savor that day. Today is all you have. The past is a old movie spinning sepia images across time. The future is nobody’s business. Today is your day. Use it. Enjoy it. On with the show. … I’ll remind you that the RunRunLive podcast is ad free and listener supported. What does that mean? It means you don’t have to listen to me trying to sound sincere about Stamps.com or Audible.. (although, fyi, my MarathonBQ book is on audible) We do have a membership option where you can become a member and as a special thank you, you will get access to member’s only audio. There are book reviews, odd philosophical thoughts, zombie stories and I curate old episodes for you to listen to. I recently added that guy who cut off is foot so he could keep training and my first call with Geoff Galloway. “Curated” means I add some introductory comments and edit them up a bit. So anyhow – become a member so I can keep paying my bills. … The RunRunLive podcast is Ad Free and listener supported. The Coach is the founder and designer of Daily Fit Book. Although he is fully committed to the development and growth of DFB he will take on athletes of all levels that show a commitment and a strong desire to achieve new dreams and goals. @dailyfitbook (twitter) fitbook2 (instagram) Section two – 10 things about me - Outro Ok my friends you have wound down your training season to the end of 2017 and to the end of episode 4-378 of the RunRunLive Podcast. Well done. What have we got going in the new year? Actually, big things! I decided I needed to set myself up with a running goal that was a challenge. I signed up for the Burning River 100 in July and will chronicle my training for the race. Yeah, I know I said I’d never do it, but you hear in my conversation with coach that turning point. Why not? I’ve done a lot of stuff in my life but I don’t have a belt buckle. And, there’s a good chance I’ll fail spectacularly either in my training or in the race itself. If so are going to set BHAGs you have to have a good chance of failure. That failure is the stuff that teaches you and forces you out of your comfort zone and forces you to grow. So, calling all my ultra friends, I’m going to need advice, support and pacers! Here’s your chance VeganRunningMom, DirtDawg, Cooker, Leadfoot and all the others. Once in a lifetime opportunity to watch Chris Maddog Russell cry like a baby and soli himself. In addition to this I’ll be running my 20th Boston marathon. And, yes, I am qualified. We’ll have to schedule something fun for that. Oh, and I committed to finishing my zombie novel. There are some personal and professional goals that you don’t care about that I’ll be chasing as well. 2018 is going to be epic! (one way or the other) But, that’s all in the future. I’ll be wrapping up my 2017 season with the Groton Marathon. I’ve got 5 folks who said they were running with me. We’ll see who shows up because it’s going to be single-digit cold. But, you know my theory…If you do something truly stupid people will show up. On the first of the year I’ll run the Hangover Classic with Teresa and then jump into the Atlantic Ocean, because that’s what you do, right? And last but not least, I’m kicking off a 30 day Diet reboot on January first with my nutrition coach Rachel. I’ll be logging my food and stats and blogging about it every day. I’ll catch up with Rachel each week to review progress. I’ll probably record those weekly chats and put them up on the podcast feed. I thought it would be useful for people to hear my/our point of view on clean eating for endurance athletes. Think that’s enough? Another one of my theories is when you have too much to do, schedule more stuff and it will sort itself out! … I’ve been listening to a meditation podcast on the train in the morning called the . Episode 2 is about using meditation to clarify your vision, i.e figure out what you want to do. This is a great exercise to create goals for the new year. She walks you into a meditative state. Then brings you into the future so that you are looking back on your life. And asks the simple question “What are three things that you wish you had done?” I found that context very helpful to sort out the things I’m working on and what is important and what will make a difference. Try it. Don’t put off your dreams. Put them down on paper and find a way to get them done in 2018. And I’ll see you out there. MarathonBQ – How to Qualify for the Boston Marathon in 14 Weeks -

We talk about some things I would have definitely done differently. Take the Takara Tomy 10th Anniversary Movie line, please? Really, only a couple of hard to find figures? What about all those other hard, nay, impossible-to-find figures like DOTM Deluxe Soundwave or Leadfoot? Something else I would like to see done differently is the news updates from Power-Con. We didn't even get some real confirmations until the hardest working man in the community put out his video. Considering the only two figures I really want from FSS 6.0 are Sub-Zero and Dojo, man, those head accessories. Could a hood and mask look worse? Lastly, something we won't know about for at least a year, but something Kathleen Kennedy would and did do differently was the Han Solo movie and now Episode IX. I personally can't wait for their releases so we can hopefully hear the dirt. However, it might be even longer.
With everyone traveling this weekend, we do a quick look at schedules and buy some new equipment to get you this episode. Will and Derek both call in and give road reports from both Old Car Festival an LSFest. John meets a FB friend in person and a visit from overseas leads to one heck of a book.
ON this episode we chat with Adam from Performance Auto and Sound magazine. We chat about becoming a pylon for Chris Forsberg, why he doesn't like the Veyron and we fix Formula Drift.
Eric Beetner writes hardboiled crime fiction. A lot of it. He won the 2012 Stalker Award for Most Criminally Underrated author. His books include RUMRUNNERS and its sequel LEADFOOT, which is coming out in November. Also: THE DEVIL DOESN'T WANT ME and WHEN THE DEVIL COMES TO CALL. Book 3 in that trilogy, THE DEVIL AT YOUR DOOR, is due out in 2017. The list doesn’t stop there. DIG TWO GRAVES, WHITE HOT PISTOL, THE YEAR I DIED SEVEN TIMES, and the story collection A BOUQUET OF BULLETS. And many more. Eric Beetner lives in Los Angeles where he co-hosts the Noir At The Bar reading series. He has toured as a musician, painted, written screenplays, acted in short films, been to China twice, fished in the Mississippi, once met Barry Manilow, and his name has been on television more than a hundred times. He also designs book covers.

On this week's episode, David takes questions from the Mailbag heading into bowl season, and gets some help from Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples to preview the Big 12's bowl season. Finally, he unveils his picks for the league's bowl slate.
In this week's episode, David looks back on how Oklahoma reached the playoff and looks ahead at the Sooners' chances and possibility of a juicy matchup. He also shares some thoughts on the Baylor-TCU disaster, Iowa State's new coaching hire and Kansas State's bowl chances at 5-7. Later, Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News joins the show to survey the Big 12 and David closes the show, as always, with his picks.
On this week's episode, David looks back at Baylor's huge win over OSU. Does it give credence to the theory the Bears employ system quarterbacks? What about OU's win over TCU and its handling of Baker Mayfield's head injury. He covers that, and offers some more thoughts on the Iowa State coach opening, where the Cyclones should go from here and the job's harsh realities. There is a growing ignorance of the most important factor in the quality of a coaching job. Later, USA Today's George Schroeder joins the show to hash out some Big 12/CFP committee conspiracy theories and some more talk about OU, Baker Mayfield and the Iowa State job. Finally, David closes the show with his picks.
This week, David exposes the aspect of the Big 12's backloaded schedule that isn't getting enough attention. He also looks back on OU's paradigm-shifting win over Baylor, has a cathartic rant about injuries and examines a historic slide at Kansas State. Later, Kyle Porter, aka PistolsGuy, joins the show to talk about how he survives cheering for the Cowboys. Finally, David reveals his picks for another huge weekend of Big 12 football.
This week, David re-hashes Oklahoma State's impressive rout of TCU and where each team goes from here. He also offers some thoughts on a possible West Virginia resurgence. Later, FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman joins the show to talk about a wide variety of topics, including if the committee has a Big 12 vendetta. Finally, David closes the show with his Week 11 picks.
In this week's episode, David dives into another Texas disaster, and tries to figure out just much teams should fear Oklahoma State. Also, what's up with TCU at home and Paul Rhoads' proud moment? Later, John Helsley of The Oklahoman helps dig into the Cowboys and David closes the show with his picks.
In this week's episode, David explains where Baylor goes from here after losing starting QB Seth Russell for the season. Did Baker Mayfield really get "revenge" on Texas Tech? And what about the shakeups at Iowa State. Later, The Oklahoman's Kyle Fredrickson and Kyle Porter, aka @pistolsguy, talk about this weekend's tragedy in Stillwater and explain why the community is so well-equipped to handle what's become all-too-commonplace. As always, David closes the show with his Week 9 picks.
This week, David looks back at the first half of the season and ahead to the second half with a midseason special. What do the Baylor-WVU and OU-KSU blowouts say about all four teams? Plus, he hands out some hardware for the best players, coach, game, surprise and disappointment of the first seven weeks. Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News also joins the show to break down the league at midseason before David gives his Week 8 picks.
