Episode Description:The journey from money chaos to money confidence isn't a straight line - it happens in stages. And understanding exactly where you are can help you focus on what you actually need next.Fresh off our 3-Day Money Reset Challenge, I'm sharing the 5 stages every woman moves through on her path to financial confidence:You'll discover:Stage 1: Money Avoidance (and why looking is always better than not looking)Stage 2: Money Awareness (when you have information but don't know what to do with it)Stage 3: Money Management (systems that work most of the time but you still second-guess decisions)Stage 4: Money Confidence (frameworks that work automatically without guilt or stress)Stage 5: Money Mastery (using money strategically to build wealth and create impact)Plus, why these stages aren't linear, why you can't skip the foundation-building that happens early on, and how to identify exactly where you are right now. Most women get stuck between Stages 2 and 3. They manage their money okay but never feel truly secure about their financial choices. What if 2025 was the year you moved to Stage 4?Ready to move beyond money management to true money confidence? When I started working with Tavianna, she was living paycheck to paycheck…even though she was making plenty of money. The issue wasn't necessarily her income—though she does have bigger income goals now—it was the fact that she wasn't paying attention to where her money was going. Through working with me in my five month coaching partnership, Tavianna learned how to implement spending goals, why it's important to give specific purposes to each dollar she earns, and how to be prepared when unexpected expenses pop up. She discovered how to communicate clearly with her partner about finances, ditch the installment plan lifestyle, and manage her finances in a way that moved her intentionally forward, instead of falling back into old habits. This money knowledge and confidence has helped her to build up how much money is in her accounts, to choose consciously where she spends her money, and to think strategically about how and when she gives money to others. These changes to her mindset and conversations around money allowed her to focus more clearly on her financial goals and dreams. In this episode, you'll learn… The shifts in money conversation with her husband that most surprised Tavianna [03:15] Tavianna's big “aha” moment with spending [06:49] How Tavianna broke free from paying for things in installments [10:59] How she feels when looking at her account balance, knowing that she is prepared [14:26] How a PTO account can help you stay prepared when you have fluctuating hours and income [17:14] The results that Tavianna is most proud of after 6+ months working with me [24:53] How Tavianna doesn't let money setbacks get the best of her [31:41] Her advice for someone looking to commit to their financial future [38:55] Tune in to this episode to learn what it looks like to stay consistent on the money management journey. Investing isn't all about chasing a certain level of wealth — it's about chasing the life you want and reverse engineering your investment tactics to get there. Brandon Copeland, linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons and professor of “Life 101” at the University of Pennsylvania, explains how investors can build their confidence with investing, why it's a smart idea to invest in what you consume, and why building wealth requires you to ask yourself questions that have nothing to do with finance. Liz also offers her take on the growth of thematic investing, and why it's important everyone removes the pressure to know it all. I have found the key to moving forward from the image of bag lady to empowered lady is having a different kind of conversation with women than they usually experience with a financial advisor. It is about focusing more deeply on what matters in terms of family, community and life purpose. Approaching the conversation with compassion and a goal of honest, authentic connection creates a sense of trust that makes financial education and taking investment action not only possible but desirable. To that end I left my longtime wealth management firm and am launching a personal financial coaching platform -- LADY MONEY, LLC. Let talk finance! In this episode of Winning with Wellness, Jenny Ryce and Kristin Fortier talked about how wellness and finance coincide and live together. Although this can be a touchy subject in people's lives it is important to learn about it. Finance has a hold on our lives daily and financial wellness is a key piece to mental health. “A big part of coming through pandemic that we haven't addressed at all is the financial wellness piece, people have never been stressed the way they've been stressed in the last year and a half.” – Kristin Fortier Financial wellness can be in terms of having cash in your bank account, your debt load, or investments or even your insurance. Knowing how much money you have at a certain time helps us sleep at night and is important to our overall wellness. Financial stress is one of the top stressors in people's lives. To improve financial wellness and your wellness overall you can start with some simple steps. Firstly, start talking about it. Most people don't talk about their finances. Start with making a budget and understand expenses. Secondly, find someone to be completely transparent with because money is complex. No one is alone in the world of finances. But you need to be honest with yourself because that is the only way to move forward. And yes sometimes it can be embarrassing. "There's a lot of emotion tied to it. And I find most times people just need to voice some things out. And then as they talk about it, they're like, oh, okay" - Kristin Fortier Each person's situation is different. You can use financial professionals or other forms of help, but make sure you feel safe in the relationship and feel listened to. Wellness Nuggets; · Talk about your finances · Address financial stress · Seek help for bad financial situations · Use financial professionals that you have a good relationship with · Be transparent to address financial issues · Reduced financial stress can improve your overall wellness About the Guest: Kristin Fortier Consulting Inc. was built from a passion for finance and the desire for women to make confident money decisions.
