The ship was built as the Kaiser Friedrich in 1898 for Norddeutscher Lloyd (NDL), a German shipping line. Designed to break the speed record for a transatlantic liner and thereby win the Blue Riband, the Kaiser Friedrich never achieved the necessary speeds. After a short career with NDL and an equally short period of service with NDL's main German competitor, the Hamburg-Amerikanische Packetfahrt-Aktien-Gesellschaft (Hamburg America Line, or HAPAG), the ship was mothballed for a decade. After being sold to the French shipping line Compagnie de Navigation Sud-Atlantique, it re-entered service as SS Burdigala. From there I ask Simon about the relationship between CO2 and panic relating my thoughts on the relationship between the psychological aspects of an issue in the water and the physiological responses to these stressors. Simon gives some advice for divers in a panic situation and also for rebreather divers faced with a CO2 issue. We hit on some misconceptions or poorly understood areas such as reverse profiles, the issues with multiple deco dives in one day... Technologies to enable exact and soft landings on the Moon and other worlds will fly on Blue Origin’s next New Shepard suborbital rocket launch, currently targeted for 11:00 a.m. EDT Thursday, Sept. 24. This week I get to hound four of the Reddit Hounds. The Burricane, JayForge, Civil, and Piney join me to talk about the many, many tournaments Hounds is involved in (CWL, RWT, NDL, and, through CrYpTiK VoiiD, MLCW) and how they got there.  Certainly Hounds (both on their own and via their family) is the RCS clan with the most tournaments and arranged wars in their ridiculously full schedule. I also get to ask what all is up with the Hounds family clans TheBuckEyeGrove, CrYpTiK VoiiD, and Queens Gambit. We talk clash about why they like being in the RCS and both what it gives to them and what they give to it.  We talk about how all these tournaments vary and why they like each.  We talk about how the family operates.  We talk about the history of Reddit Hounds and their daily operations, how they got to where they are, and also random things like Piney's streams, why maxxed players enjoy the builders base, the constant recruiting struggle, the benefit of having events available to members of a busy war clan, how to reach out to other clans, and the importance of delegating tasks to avoid burnout.
