Esta vez tocaba correr en casa de la Meca de la F1, Inglaterra, y la verdad es que hemos asistido a un fin de semana y a una carrera espectaculares. Nuevos actores. Hemos visto nuevos actores, viniendo desde lo más alejado de la parrilla. Nuevos pilotos en el top 3 de la clasificación y en el podio de la carrera. Mucha mezcla de rendimientos inesperada y, por ello, muy divertido. Estamos asistiendo a una buena temporada, sin duda. El sorprendente rendimiento de McLaren quizás sea la noticia más destacada, hasta con Verstappen echándose las manos a la cabeza cuando vio a Norris y Piastri acompañarle en el podio de honor de la clasificación. Pero claro el avance de unos es retroceso para otros: Aston Martin y Ferrari no dejaron muy buenas sensaciones. La explicación es amplia y la vamos a abordar en el podcast sin duda, sin tapujos y sin fanatismos y venta de humo. Lo cierto es que este cambio de fuerzas entre los equipos punteros de la parrilla es simplemente alucinante y un disfrute desmesurado. Ahora mismo, por detrás de Verstappen, optan al podio McLaren, Mercedes, Aston Martin y Ferrari. ¿Quién da más? Hay que repetirlo: estamos asistiendo a una lucha técnica sin cuartel que es un disfrute para el que sepa verla y saborearla. Y viendo resurgir a los históricos: no sólo McLaren dio un soberbio espectáculo, también lo hizo Williams que, en manos de Albon y gracias a las mejoras que están introduciendo, nos deleitó con su rendimiento en pista. Pero el fin de semana de carrera ha dejado mucho más de qué hablar: los paupérrimos resultados de Nick De Vries han hecho que, ya para la siguiente carrera sea sustituido… por Ricciardo. Así que volveremos a ver al australiano en un monoplaza, que ya teníamos ganas. Y si hablamos de malos resultados, toca hablar de Sergio Pérez que, lamentablemente, está pasando por horas bajas: se quedó fuera de la Q1 por 5ª vez este año. Pero sabemos que el mexicano es muy fuerte y esperamos verle resurgir muy pronto; quizás no para disputarle el Mundial a su compañero de equipo, pero sí para darnos buenas luchas y espectáculo con el resto de equipos. Allá, en la lejanía. Si nos detenemos un segundo a mirar la clasificación del Mundial podemos ver, allá en la lejanía, a Verstappen y a Red Bull. El holandés aventaja en casi 100 puntos (99 para ser exactos) al segundo clasificado, su compañero de equipo. Tras los de Red Bull, Alonso, con 137 puntos, Hamilton (121), Sainz (83), Russell (82), Leclerc (74), Stroll (44), Norris (42) y Ocon (31), que cierra la clasificación de los 10 primeros. Y qué decir del Mundial de Constructores: Red Bull tiene más del doble de puntos que su inmediato perseguidor, Mercedes. Frente a los 203 puntos de los alemanes, los de la bebida energética suman ya 411 puntos. Tras ellos, Aston Martin, con 181 puntos, Ferrari (157), McLaren (59), Alpine (47), Williams y Haas (11), Alfa Romeo (9) y AlphaTauri (2). The 2022 F1 silly season kicked off with the announcement that Fernando Alonso will leave Alpine at the end of the season and replace the retiring Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin, and it has only gotten weirder since then. That move set up a staredown between Alpine and McLaren for the rights to super-prospect Oscar Piastri. McLaren won, leaving Daniel Ricciardo out.  There are now either 14 drivers under contract for the 2023 season and lots of rumors about the other six seats. Below we take a look at the driver situation for next season at each team, going in order of the current Constructors' Championship standings.

A triple header that ended at the temple of Max. For the first time we head to Singapore with the likelihood of the title fight being done and dusted. Nick De Vries gave one of the greatest job interviews of all time, has he locked himself into a seat for 2023, the Williams drive looks more and more available by the week. Power units and penalties are going hand in hand and getting out of hand. Teams are all likely to be taking hits for the rest of the season but should the penalties be harsher? And we experienced what we all never wanted to, a race finish under yellow,was the right call made? Was their time to finish under race conditions? And how much PTSD have fans suffered this weekend with flashbacks of Abu Dhabi? This race had the DNA for something epic… But the outcome was more of the same. It is Max Verstappen and the unbeatable Red Bull out in front for his 5th straight P1 finish. Sadly, for the more than 300,000 fans in attendance, the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc crossed the line in P2 after starting on pole. George Russell continues his Top 5 streak in his first year with Mercedes. P3 and another podium leaves him only a few points out of P2 in the overall drivers championship this year. Finally, Nick De Vries made his F1 debut after a last minute call up with Williams. De Vries managed for score points on his F1 debut, leaving us to ask why is he not in F1 as a regular competitor? Welcome to episode 36 of the Lovecars on the Grid podcast. Our presenters, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman bring us another roundup of motorsport events from around the World from the past week! What an exciting week we've had, from Formula 1, F2, F3, Porsche Supercup, WEC in Japan, WRC in Greece, Indycar in California, NASCAR, World Superbikes, British Superbikes and British GT. Starting with Formula 1, Max Verstappen is on another level, with yet another win in Monza at the weekend winning from 7th place, despite Charles LeClerc starting in pole position. We had the cinderella story of Nick De Vries in Williams. The driver was substituted for Alex Albon after the driver was suffering with appendicitis. De Vries qualified 13th, but thanks to other driver penalties, started in 9th. He managed to finish in the same position, achieving points in his very first race! We have to talk about the safety car controversy. Keeping the safety car out and allowing Max Verstappen to take the win. It's like Abu Dhabi with Michael Masi all over again! Should the FIA have red flagged the race and allow a restart for the last three laps? Did they make the decision? Let us know what you think! We had a strange weekend in Formula 2, with a Championship win for Felipe Drugovich, even with 3 races to go! The Sprint Race was won by Juri Vips. Formula 3 ended up in a crash that causes a red flag. Victor Martins took the championship win from the pit wall. The Sprint Race win went to Franco Colapinto, whilst the feature race win went to Zane Maloney. In the Porsche Supercup, Harry King took pole position, but following a 3 place grid penalty after a shunt in the previous race, King took 2nd place, behind Bastian Buus. The Championship win was given to Dylan Pereira. The World Endurance Championship was taking place at Fuji, with 1st and 2nd place for Toyota and Alpine in 3rd. In the World Rally Championship, Hyundai had a 1, 2, 3 finish, following an awful start to the season. We had a spectacular Indycar race at Laguna Seca. Josef Newgarden made some great overtakes, but it was team mate, Will Power that took the Championship win the in Indycar series. The NASCAR series took place at the Hollywood Casino 400, with a win for Bubba Wallace. There's just 1 more race where drivers can qualify for the final 12 drivers, so exciting in NASCAR! In World Superbikes, the battle between Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatlioglu continues! Both riders fell off in the first 2 races. Next week, we have Moto GP and NASCAR!

Welcome to episode 20 of the Lovecars On The Grid Podcast. Our two presenters, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman are back with another roundup of motorsport events from the past week! This week, we have the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, Moto GP, Indycar, Formula E, BTCC and NASCAR! Tiff joins us from Nice airport after being in Monaco! We kick off with the Grand Prix Historique in Monaco, with cars from all eras, where Tiff got to meet Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen and Ferrari driver, Charles LeClerc! Formula E took place in Berlin this weekend, with a win for Nick De Vries in the Mercedes-EQ Formula E team, with 2nd place going to Rokit Venturi Racing's Edoardo Mortara. Moto GP was at the Bugatti Circuit of Le Mans for their Grand Prix De France, where leaders of both the Moto GP and Moto2 race crashed out. The win in the Moto GP went to Fabio Quartararo on the Yamaha, with a win for Celestino Vietti in Moto2. The BTCC were racing at Brands Hatch with all sorts of different weather! Josh Cooke won with Honda after some clever tyre changes. The rain and chaos continued in Indycar, at the GMR Grand Prix at the Indianopolis Motor Speedway. Teams weren't sure what tyre compound to go for with the different weathers, but the win went to Colton Herta. NASCAR was a battle between Kurt Busch in the Toyota and Kyle Larson in the Chevrolet, with Busch just beating Larson to the Win at the Kansas Speedway.

The Dutch Grand Prix played out exactly as expected, but the news before and since has been quite the shock. Kimi retires, Bottas booted, Russell still in stasis. (No, wait. Die Formel 2 und Formel 3 fuhren im Rahmen der Formel 1 in Frankreich, die Formel E feierte eine Premiere in Bern. Natürlich wollen wir auch darüber in einem Podcast sprechen. Rahmenprogramm der F1 besser als die F1 selbst Kevin Scheuren begrüßt dazu zwei Redakteure der Portale motorsport-total.com, formel1.de und de.motorsport.com, Norman Fischer und Ruben Zimmermann. Norman ist wie gewohnt für die Nachwuchsserien der Formel 1 zuständig. Die Rennen der Formel 3 und Formel 2 wussten durchaus zu begeistern, anders als das Rennen der "großen Jungs" in der Formel 1. Es gab spannende Duelle, knifflige Entscheidungen für die Stewards und durchaus Favoritensiege. Robert Shwartzmann in der Formel 3 und Nick de Vries in der Formel 2 haben ihre Ansprüche auf die jeweiligen Titel nochmal untermauert. Für Mick Schumacher war es ein verkorkstes Wochenende in der Formel 2. Er will in Österreich wieder angreifen. Norman klärt zudem auf, wie man in einem Rennen neun (!) Strafpunkte auf seine Lizenz bekommen kann und damit in Österreich aussetzen muss. Erst Proteste, dann ein Startunfall - die Formel E in der Schweiz Vor der Formel E-Premiere in Bern haben die Bürger nochmal für Aufsehen gesorgt. Teilweise haben sie versucht, die Strecke zu sabotieren, um das Rennen zu verhindern. Ruben war live vor Ort und schildert im Podcast seine Eindrücke. Das Rennen selbst war dann gar nicht schlecht. Zwar gab es einen vermeidbaren Startunfall, der das Rennen für eine ganze Weile unterbrochen hat, danach waren aber auch hier wie gewohnt viele, spannende Duelle auf der Strecke zu sehen. Am Ende setzte sich der Meisterschaftsfavorit Jean-Eric Vergne durch. Wird er den Sack in New York zu machen können?
