We're back once again for an exciting week of two-wheeled news, but it's not just your favorite podcast that is back. Americans are once again in Moto GP, not with a new rider but with an entire team. Trackhouse Racing is taking over what used to be the RNF team as Aprilia satellite team sponsor. With some amazing looking Nicky Hayden livery on the bike, we are more than excited to see what that brings for the future of Americans in Moto GP. On top of that great news, of course, we couldn't go a week without mentioning Marc Marquez, who left the Valencia test leaving everyone giddy and nervous about what lies in store for the Ducati stable next year. Extreme levels of talent and bike performance mixed up with some intense drama leave us headed for winter wishing the new season could start immediately. So hold onto your seats and stick around for a wild episode and a wild Moto GP 2024!!

This episode is a cool chat with Jordan Long from J.L. Unlimited. Jordan is a motorcycle enthusiast, club racer, track day coach and motorcycle podcaster. We cover everything from how he got started riding, to how he found riding again when he was in the Navy stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, and how he eventually got hooked on racing his Yamaha R6 at the club level. We talk quite a bit about MotoAmerica, and the prior history of motorcycle road racing in the US, with the AMA Pro Series and the days when Daytona Motorsports Group (DMG) ran professional motorcycle road racing in this country. We also talk about his 9-year-old daughter’s interest in motorcycles and how he is looking to get her set up with an Ohvale GP-0. And we end off speculating about when the COVID-19 pandemic will be better under control, and when we might expect to return to some sense of normalcy regarding track days and road racing...and we reflect on how lucky we are that the MotoAmerica road racing series takes place in a single country, and that it will be much easier for the organizers to get things back up and running than it will be for the international based series like MotoGP and WorldSBK. Toby Moody and Neil Spalding take themselves back to the remarkable 2006 MotoGP season, when Nicky Hayden and Honda defeated the seemingly unstoppable Valentino Rossi/Yamaha combination. They recall why Hayden was on a 'special' development Honda that year, and how it ended up being a 'patchwork' bike. They also look at what caused the chatter problems that derailed Rossi's season, and the non-scores that proved so costly for The Doctor. Ducati was in the mix with Loris Capirossi until the horror shunt at Barcelona, which also effectively ended Sete Gibernau's career as a top-line rider. The Michelin v Bridgestone tyre war was in full effect by this point, and the two companies went about MotoGP in very different ways. The year reached a conclusion with Hayden and Honda seemingly throwing it away as Rossi hacked away at the points deficit, culminating in the implosion that was Dani Pedrosa taking Hayden out in the penultimate round - one of MotoGP's greatest races at Estoril. But the drama wasn't done there, and Toby and Neil recall their memories of being in Valencia when Hayden was crowned, Rossi fell, and Troy Bayliss blew everyone away on a one-off return to Ducati. And finally, Neil tells us what it was like to ride Hayden's bike the following day!

Chris Jonnom is a veteran of the motorcycle industry, he's been a journalist, the editor of Road Racer X, the Press Officer for Ducati MotoGP and now heads his own PR Agency working with the Powersports market. Eric catches up with Chris, it's been some time since they last spoke. They talk about the state of print motorcycle magazines, the MotoGP experience, Nicky Hayden and what it's like to branch out on your own.
Nicky Hayden just won the MotoGP World Championship after a tense race in Valencia! Everyone counted him out after the shit that went down in Portugal 2 weekends ago, losing his title lead. All the haters just expected Rossi to cruise to another consecutive title. But it didn't happen! Can you tell we are excited? This episode is pretty straight forward. Nicky gets a ton of love for his underdog story that culminated in the best moment of his career. Rossi chokes and we gotta wonder if he still has it - can he ever win again without the best bike on the grid? We jump over to Ducati and the amazing performance that the wildcard rider Troy Bayliss put in to win. And of course, we talk a ton of shit about other riders like Casey Stoner, their performances all year and what we expect next year with the new 800cc bikes. Then we finish this one off all classy, just like Rossi and especially Nicky.
It feels like forever since we discussed Moto2. We are still stuck in the summer break, so this felt like a great time to brush up on the intermediate class and discuss the racers leading the championship - the top 5 in reverse order. Racers make most of the stories and bitches love stories. Pecco Bagnaia is up first as the only Moto2 rookie to make an impact so far this year. Then we jump on Alex Marquez, his nepo-tastic results really getting Kev riled up. Miguel Oliveira and KTM make Rob eat a bunch of crow. Everyone's favorite journeyman Luthi sits in 2nd and has the entire BrotoGP crew hoping he doesn't win the 'ship. And lastly, we get to Franco, his awesome jerry curl, and the development of the VR46 crew. We are also giving away an amazing Nicky Hayden art print, so check out our social media for how to win that.
In the last 12 months Pegram has competitively raced Supermoto, flat track at X-Games, driven the AudioSport R8 and won, and road raced at MotoAmerica! As a driver and a rider Larry Pegram has but one goal and that is to have fun! Not only can Larry Pegram do all these things but he also has the ability to communicate with race fans worldwide. His work on BeinSports as a color analyst. Now Pegram appears to be very comfortable as the color analyst of American Flat Track on NBCSN! Above all that it appears his true passion is racing Go Karts with his children! Danny Walker has had but one goal as a team owner/manager in MotoAmerica. That goal is to see his contracted riders advance to the world stage in World Superbike and MotoGP. His Broaster Chicken Honda Team is headed to MotoAmerica at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca without Jake Gagne because Gagne got the call to ride for the Ten Kate team in World Superbike there in place of the late Nicky Hayden. We hear his thoughts about that and more in this episode of Talking Motorcycles. His hope is that Gagne will be signed full time by Ten Kate following the Laguna round. What qualities does he think Jake has that can make him a star on the world stage? Thank you for listening to Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone that originates from the studios of WNDB in Daytona Beach. Garrett and Eric are rolling without Pete to quarterback the show for the first time, so, we are just freestyling it and catching up since it's been a few weeks. Garrett talks about his new to him FZ1 and a former bike that found it's way back into the garage. Garrett is also planning for a four-day 1,000-mile ride with friends in the next few weeks.Eric brings us up to date with his XS400 project bike and an interesting observation from a recent trip to North Georgia. We also take a few minutes to talk about Nicky Hayden and his passing.
Hello and welcome to Front End Chatter episode 57, which is really episode 69, powered by the mighty online juggernaut of two-wheeled infotainment that is Bike Social (that's www.bikesocial.co.uk). This time round Martin and Simon chatter in their front-endy style about: Nicky Hayden: the man, the talent, the achievements, the infectious passion, the generosity, the tears at Estoril, the tears at Valencia, the incredible strength of character, the smile. MotoGP from Le Mans, where General Zarco was propelled by patriotism, Lorenzo was stumped by strine, a small fall by Rossi led to a big fall in his championship standing, and Simon got in a huff and turned his telly off before the end of the race and went to spend some time in his log cabin that Danny Kent still hasn't turned up to finish yet. The red-bike, red-flag, red-fireball fest that was World Superbikes from Imola. John McGuinness's crash at the North West 200, what might have caused it, and whether it might have anything to do with the slightly peculiar throttle response on the 2017 road-going Fireblade. By popular demand (no, really), an excessively comprehensive review of the most promising (if hardly imaginatively named) electric road bikes yet. Your emails, including plenty of air expended about the pros and cons of airbag suits, do MotoGP fans like football, does FEC hate WSB… and finally… and finally?… and finally... a forgotten and (questionably) attractive non-sportsbike from Yamaha. As ever thank you very much for listening, and thank you even more for downloading it from the top folk at Bike Social (that’s still www.bikesocial.co.uk). Please email us on anything@frontendchatter.com or get us on that there Twitter using @SimonHbikes and @Mufga
Welcome to episode 76. On this episode i discuss stuff. So what's different from other episodes? Well, in this episode I talk about stuff that really have no idea about. So what's different from other episodes? You jerk!!!! 1 mile: There is a recap of the Sacramento mile and some discussion (or rhetoric, since you need two people for a discussion) about the performance of Harley-Davidson in the AFT Twins series. Indian, on the other hand, seems to have things on lock down. Shayna Texter also seems to have things on lock down. She's doing really well in the AFT Singles class this year. If you don't want to hear a bunch of stats read on air, skip ahead to the 28 minute mark. Crap, I forgot to say congratulations to Jared and Nicole Mees. They had a baby girl last Wednesday and she was named Hayden Mees in honor of Nicky Hayden. 37 miles: With the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy celebrating 110 years (1907-2017) the celebration of the "greatest race on earth" will commence this weekend and last for 14 glorious days. Since I never went to the Isle of Man as a kid back in 1902, I don't know much about it except for what I've watched and read over the years. Let's learn something together. Bonus feature: MotORGASMS 500 miles: The Baja 500 runs for the 49th time next week. Let's learn about a Hollywood stuntman and how he started one of the most challenging off road races in North America. (The Dakar is in South America, you jackass!!) please leave a review in iTunes, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Google Play store or wherever you get your podcasts!!! www.dailybikers.com www.creative-riding.com creativeridingpodcast@gmail.com
We'll be honest, this is probably the toughest podcast we've ever had to record. On Monday 22nd May, Nicky Hayden sadly lost his life following a training accident while cycling in Italy. This episode sees Louis, Dre and Becks pay tribute to the 2006 MotoGP World Champion. A legend, a gentleman, a hero to all motorcycle fans. We'll never forget you. Ride on, Kentucky Kid Nicky Hayden, 1981-2017

After some consideration, we decided to still record this week's podcast to celebrate an incredible weekend of racing and in part the life of Nicky Hayden. Kev starts us off in best way he knows, though we will do more to honor Nicky once we have more time. Then we jump into the hottest topic in GP, Johann Zarco. CycleGear hooked us up and we've got a Zarco-giveaway for you, so listen to find out how to win it. We then move over to the race winner Maverick, discuss the huge mistakes by the two other contenders, and even talk about Pedrosa again. Jack Miller's amazing words for Lorenzo come up and we finish this one off with dreams of Mugello. A bit mellow this time, but I don't think you expected anything else.*Apologies about the static. I'm on it.
1- Another terror attack. 2- Goodbye, Nicky Hayden. 3- Pro Life for all Life. 4- Just got back from Middle East. 5- I promise not to keep promises. 6- Black lives still don’t matter. 7- The Elephant in the room is called Justice.
Freddie Spencer looks back at the MotoGP round at Le Mans and also remembers the late Nicky Hayden who tragically lost his life on the Monday after the race. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

We'll discuss the technical achievements that our forefathers while getting derailed on some wild tangents and attempt to discuss how some of today's two-wheeled trends are echoes of the past! Welcome to episode 75 I had a hard time staying on task with this show after learning of Nicky Hayden's tragic bicycle accident in Italy. Thousands of fans and peers are showing support and sending well wishes to the Kentucky Kid, who at this time is recovering in an Italian hospital. The whole tone of the show was overshadowed by this tragedy, but i hope that through my non-sensical ramblings that I have kept you entertained and maybe even made you smile for a second. The news really took the wind out of my sails, and I have postponed some of the material for this episode until a later date. Fingers crossed for Nicky Hayden and his family. Many people are showing their support via social media with the hashtag #GoNicky. Other things talked about on the show: WIR's Top 10 Bikes face off for round 2 this weekend at WIR. The Hooligan Dirt Dash coincides with the ROT this weekend. The AFT pros line up in Sacramento this weekend for what promises to be a showdown for the books. This week's #BikeLive isn't the show we had planned but given the circumstances at the moment, we didn't feel it was correct to record a normal show. For those that aren't aware, Nicky Hayden was involved in a training accident while cycling in Italy this week. He suffered a severe polytrauma resulting in severe brain damage and is currently fighting for his life. Instead of reviewing #ItalianWorldSBK and the double victory from Chaz Davies, we have decided to replace our planned show with the interview we conducted with Nicky in May 2016. Nicky was an absolute class act as he talked to us about his WorldSBK campaign, his MotoGP title success and growing up in a racing family. We will return to normal service for Episode 13 next week but for now, all of our thoughts are with Nicky Hayden and his family. #GoNicky
Welcome to Episode 69! On this Episode we explore several choices. Some are bad choices, like choosing to spend time with your family instead of riding your motorcycle or going to bike events. One choice is who to commemorate this episode with: Nicky Hayden or Danny Eslick? Both road racers are also excellent flat trackers. The choices that some of the bikers in our third segment made may shock you. Like the choice to crash into Cops... in Texas. And finally, you'll find out the judges' choice for Solstice Slam winner! Thanks for following the show so far. For the third year in a row we end and begin our year with a one on one personal interview with the 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden. Nicky Hayden finished 5th in his first season as a full time World Superbike competitor. Following a 13 year career as a MotoGP rider who won the 2006 World Championship, Nicky chose to make the move to World Superbike with the single goal of ultimately winning the World Superbike Championship and becoming the only rider in history to win both World Championships. We will discuss the first season and get his thoughts in depth. There will be time to discuss some individual races in this inauguaral first season and hear how close he came to acheiving his beginning of the year goals. 26 starts, 4 podiums and a win are the numbers but only tell part of the story. We get the rest. With a new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade to ride and a new teamate in German Stefan Bradl, we will probe his take on the 2017 season ahead and discover how he views the season ahead. We use this show to wish all of you a most Happy New Year ahead in hopes you acheive many safe and fun motorcycling miles in the year ahead. Many thanks to all of you who listen and support our show. We wouldn'tdo it without you. Special thanks to Crosley Radio/Crosley Furnishings for being our presenting sponsor of the show. Paddock Pass Podcast - Motorcycle Racing - MotoGP - World Superbike
The first race of the 2016 World Superbike season is in the bag, which gives the Paddock Pass Podcast crew plenty to talk about from Phillip Island. For an extra treat, Ronald Ten Kate from Ten Kate Racing (the team running Honda's factory WSBK effort) gives us an exclusive interview about the team's progress in the off-season, and how things are shaping up in the garage with Nicky Hayden and Michael van der Mark.
With temperatures finally becoming more Spring-like, Chris, Daniel and Tyler gather again to discuss the recent round of Supercross in Atlanta. Following Tyler's near perfect play-by-play on the dirt, we shift gears into the first round of World Superbike at Phillip's Island to discuss Nicky Hayden's first race in WSBK since 2003, plus the highlights of the battle between Chaz Davies and Johnathan Rea. Plus, we answer a listener's question about how to get into the motorcycle racing venue in the first place! All this and a new Patreon page in Episode 9 of Wingman's Garage! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/wingmansgarage/support
The life and times of Nicky Hayden. We go behind the scenes with an AMA Pro Flat Track winner, AMA Superbike Champion, 2006 MotoGP World Champion and now set to compete in the 2016 FIM World Superbike Championship! Perhaps this is the best possible time to sit down with Nicky to discuss his life and career. The 2015 Inductee in the MotoGP Hall of Fame as a Legend will reflect on his 12 year run in MotoGP. During that ime he was teamed with Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi twice. 200 GP's, 28 Podiums, 3 wins and the World Championships only tell part of the story. We hope to get the rest of them in this edition of Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone powered by Crosley Brands! If he wins the World Superbike title, Nicky would become the first rider in history to win both WSBK and MotoGP World Championships. Can he pull it off? We get his thoughts. Nicky Hayden is now 34 years old but the competitive fires are still burning. Nicky Hayden photos courtesy of Cycle World
A new motorcycle racing season is already here... well winter testing is underway. Turns out we had a lot to talk about with GP switching to new electronics and Michelin tires. That of course led to tangent after tangent of shit talking and even a pretty big segue over to Nicky Hayden in WorldSBK. We even covered Moto2 a bit with some predictions for next year. Stay with us this off-season.
We're not sure how we went from Yamaha's 2016 models to Arnold Schwarzenegger traveling through time naked, but somewhere in between all that we talk about the new Icon Airframe Pro helmet, the Aprilia RSV4 RR, consumer and institutional financing, and Nicky Hayden moving to World Superbike as well. It's a good episode.
