In this week's episode, Rachel shares about her trip to Iowa when she picked up her new car. At first, she's a bit hesitant to travel alone as she thinks about her responsibilities as a mom and a wife. She continues sharing a story about when she used to live in Laramie with her roommate. They went to Vedauwoo where they met two hitchhikers who had an unfortunate experience. Rachel and her roommate helped them by giving them a ride to their apartment to be able to make phone calls to help them on the next steps of their journey.She also shares how she traveled alone to Eugene Oregon back in 1998. She only got $125 cash, no credit card, no checks, no cellphone, just all her belongings in the back of her truck and she used a paper map to get there. However, on her trip to Iowa, she knew that it was different. There are more things to consider than just herself.Before she leaves she was talking to her friend Lindsey on the phone and they realized that she can make a detour on her trip. Rachel went to Missouri to meet Lindsey Bennett (Episode #10 and #34) and Gina Giro (Episode #53) on Thursday and then meet some other friends in Golden before she went back home on Friday.While she was driving on the road she was listening to a book and it made her realize many things. Rachel explains how healing it was for her. She was able to release some of those emotions that she's been holding.
