The bill is targeted at teenagers who do not have a regular driver's license. It would also ban children under the age of 12 from riding ebikes. Assembly Member Tasha Boerner explained that the creation of a driver's license for previously unlicensed e-bike riders is a matter of safety (represents Encinitas) Lyft Gives Up Lyft (“a taxi company” - what a dig!) is looking to quit bike- and scooter-sharing and seeking buyers. This week we're releasing another interview from Oliver's tour of micromobility companies in Southern California. This episode is with LeGrand Crewse, founder of Super73, on the growth of his very distinctive brand. Ever since Oliver first saw the first image of the electrified mini taco bike, he thought that Super73 were on to something - they clearly understood what electrification buys you in terms of bike design, and they had focused on knobbly tyres, aesthetics and the likelihood that riders would end up using the throttle over really peddling to create something that was a substantial departure from anything we'd really seen in popular bike design before - most companies just electrified the existing form factors that they'd been making. So, it was awesome to sit down with LeGrand and talk about the history and where things are going for the company, including its expansion into motorbikes. Also, we didn't really discuss it, but Oliver got to test ride their kids bike afterwards too, and that thing is going to sell like hotcakes. It's built super tough and has an adult mode meaning that adults can ride it as well - check out Oliver's SoCal tour write up on Twitter for a video of him checking it out. Specifically they tackle: - The history of Super73 - How the company has grown over time - Funding and how they have thought about it - Why they chose to raise less than their competitors - The new motorbikes and the impact that they will have on servicing and maintenance Take a closer look at Super73 on their website And with that, here's LeGrand! Looking for a way to beat the Southern California traffic on his daily commute to work, LeGrand Crewse put a motor on his mountain bike and started cruising there instead. For fun, he'd even wear a Superman tee shirt as he'd fly by the cars. Not only was he known as Superman, but he also became known as the “drivetrain guy” with his self-taught knowledge of how motors and batteries move wheels and e-bikes. That expertise would eventually connect him with his co-founders to start Super73- the electric fat tire motorbike company based in Orange County. Super73 is the very definition of brand strength, influence, coolness, and fun- beyond what I've ever experienced.

Toccara Karizma is a digital marketing consultant and business growth strategist. She is the CEO of Karizma Marketing, a full-service digital marketing agency dedicated to growing elite eCommerce brands online through email marketing, social media marketing, PPC, SEO, website conversion optimization, and more. Having built her own successful eCommerce business back in 2007, Toccara is now considered one of the world's top eCommerce marketing experts. Her out-of-the-box approach to digital marketing and expertise in the online business growth space is why I've asked her to join me today. The biggest, most critical failure with customers I have a two-fold failure. The biggest failures are taking on clients without the bandwidth, without the support system that I need. We are in demand and are blessed to be in demand. At some points, we want to take on clients when we just don't have the right support team in place. And that's not a fair thing for us to do because when we do that, we don't give them the best results or the best client experience with us. We want to be the Four Seasons of ad agencies. The second failure would be taking any client, especially when you're newer. That was when we failed because we weren't working with a partner that had everything in place. It was kind of like putting a Ferrari engine in a VW Bug. Biggest success with customers I stand for full reporting. When we talk to our customers, it's almost like we're flipping all the ways in which they were mishandled and mismanaged by other agencies and saying, “You deserve this.” We do full transparency. We'll tell you when we're wrong and when we've done something wrong. We want to meet with you regularly and build a long-term relationship. We're always on camera with them. So, it's doing business with people. My son was working on a project at school. (He's in high school now.) He was using a video editing software. I looked up that video editing software's ads because I ran ads, and I realized that they were struggling. They just did not have great customer feedback. I went directly to this company, it's a SAS company, and said, “Can I get connected with your director of digital marketing?” I got the client, and I think it's funny because I had just interviewed someone for my own YouTube.   Michael Cannavo started his career on social media. He was able to infuse his own understanding of viral content, social platforms, and demographic interests into Super73, causing it to accelerate the growth and visibility of the company. As the company grew, so did his social media presence. With 500,000 followers online, Michael has been able to pull back the curtain on what life is like within Super73, how the company has succeeded, and where it is going next. The biggest, most critical failure with customers I think it's a matter of really understanding what they want. Early on, we had this idea of what we wanted to do, and we kept trying to insist to our customers, “Hey, this is what you want. This is the product for you.” We were missing a few key features. We heard that directly from the customers and I think it has really changed the way that we view our products, from designing to prototyping to testing it. We really engage with the customers now. Biggest success with customers We recently released a bike called the ZX. It's not necessarily too remarkable of a product, but it is a perfect product for a demographic that was asking for it for a long time. We really took into account what customers were saying in the comment sections, what they were saying on reviews. That really created something so magical because it was exactly what our customer was looking for. When we released that bike, it was positivity across the board. Everybody was so happy. The customers were happy. Our design team was happy.

NEW LOTUS TYPE 132 SUV PREVIEWED IN OFFICIAL IMAGE - Lotus has given a first look at its maiden SUV, which is codenamed the Type 132 and due to be revealed in full next year. - As first reported by Autocar, the Type 132 has been in development since 2016 and is set to launch with two four-wheel-drive variants, offering between 600bhp and 750bhp. It will be able to accommodate batteries ranging from 92-120kWh in capacity and will offer 800V charging. - The Norfolk firm has released the first in a series of official videos that will build up to the launch of the new Aston Martin DBX rival, which will be a key element of its bold growth strategy under the ownership of Chinese car giant Geely. - The Type 132 will be built at a new £900 million manufacturing facility in Wuhan, China, and will be one of two Chinese-built EVs the firm will launch in the next five years. They are looking to secure an edge with next-generation batteries in a price war with Chinese battery companies. - The key is competition with Chinese battery companies. China's CATL, the world's largest battery company, is building a battery plant in Germany for commercial operation from 2022. CATL produces prismatic batteries and is expected to focus on expanding orders from Volkswagen. In March, Volkswagen announced that it would increase the proportion of prismatic batteries to 80 percent by 2030. - Samsung SDI and CATL will compete fiercely in the prismatic battery sector. Samsung SDI is betting on Gen. 5, a next-generation prismatic battery to be used for BMW electric vehicles. - Major European automakers such as Daimler, BMW and Volkswagen are placing battery orders worth tens of trillion won to secure batteries for their vehicles to be launched after 2024. Original Source : http://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html BMW I7 REPORTEDLY GETTING THREE ELECTRIC MOTORS SHARED WITH I5 M - It was back in March last year when BMW originally announced there would be a fully electric version of the next-generation 7 Series. - CEO Oliver Zipse revealed during the Annual Accounts Press Conference 2020 the variant without a combustion engine would be the most potent. - Likely to be called i7, the 7 Series sans gasoline/diesel engine is said to have three electric motors in its highest specification. According to Auto Motor und Sport, two of them will be mounted at the back and the third one will be positioned on the front axle. The report mentions the e-motor driving the front wheels will have less power. - the same three-motor setup could be installed in a full-fat M version of the next 5 Series in EV form (i5) with a yet-to-be-confirmed total output of 750 horsepower. - It won't ride on a dedicated electric car platform as it will share its underpinnings and most of the design as well as shape with the combustion-engined models. For a bespoke EV from Bavaria, 2025 will be the year when the Neue Klasse architecture will debut. Original Source : https://www.bmwblog.com/2021/11/08/bmw-i7-electric-sedan-three-motors TESLA'S NEW 12V LI-ION AUXILIARY BATTERY HAS CATL CELLS INSIDE - With the refreshed Model S/Model X, Tesla switched from conventional lead-acid to an all-new lithium-ion 12 V auxiliary battery (Model 3/Model Y still uses a conventional one). Thanks to an outstanding, two-part presentation and teardown conducted by Ingineerix, we can take an in-depth look at this new solution, hinted at in early 2021 by Elon Musk and shown only briefly at the delivery event. - previously Tesla was using in the Model S/Model X a 12 V, 33 Ah lead-acid AGM battery. It stores about 0.4 kWh of energy, but weight is quite substantial: 27 lbs (12 kg). According to Ingineerix, such batteries last in Teslas about 2-4 years, which is pretty low and sometimes causes unexpected problems if the car stops working. - The new,lithium-ion battery is much smaller and much lighter (only about 4 lbs / 1.8 kg). That's because it's much higher energy density, but also has a lower energy content. We assume that with a more reliable and "smart" solution, there is no need for 0.4 kWh. The battery has only a 0.1 kWh of energy (99 Wh to be precise) and a capacity of 6.9 Ah, according to the description. - the new battery consists of a BMS circuit board made by CATL and four prismatic NMC lithium-ion battery cells (6.9 Ah each), connected in series. During an interview on “Squawk on the Street,” CNBC's Jim Cramer asked about PepsiCo's plans to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. - “Transportation is about 10% of our overall gas emissions so it's important and we're working on different solutions. We replace our fleet regularly, every ten years more or less...and we're already starting to buy electric trucks actually from Tesla. I mean I don't want to promote anybody but that's the brand we're using so far and we're getting our first deliveries this Q4.” - The comments come almost four years after PepsiCo first announced it would purchase 100 Tesla Semi trucks. It was the largest known pre-order of the vehicle at the time. - On the company's Q2 earnings call in July, Tesla said it was pushing the Semi program to 2022 due to supply chain challenges and the limited availability of battery cells. Most passionate about My passion comes from creating things that haven't been created. Whether that's through marketing or products, it's all about bringing something new to the table and looking at it with a fresh set of eyes. Michael's career and story We founded Super73 back in 2016. It was built on the ashes of a couple of failed businesses. It was about finding the right product for the right time. Here we are five years later. We just crossed over a hundred employees. Over the last year, we've been working to release new products that fit more parents and grandparents—kind of expand that range. Right now we're seeing anyone from 14 years old up to 94 years old. It's been a blast. Best advice for entrepreneurs I think our connection to the customer has helped us. We sell directly to the consumer. We don't go through dealerships or retail stores too much. One of the biggest things that have benefited our company is that we actually hire from the community. So, we hire customers all the time. Michael's recommendation of a tool One of the biggest tools that have worked for us has been our engagement on social media, downloading all of the apps. I wanted to grow our TikTok presence. TikTok is an app that is primarily for Gen Z. It's about 94-95% Gen Z. Michael's one key success factor I would say it is our ability to understand where we've misstepped. It's our ability to go back to the drawing board and say, “Hey, we could have done this better.” What I love about this company is that there are no egos here. It's this constant evolution of growth. And I think that has been a massive success factor in our company. Anybody can come in with any idea. And it's a valid idea that we're willing to listen to.   Michael's Mountain Since we believe that the best way for entrepreneurs to get fast, big, and sustainable success is by leading your (new) market category, and the entire entrepreneurial journey reminds me of mountaineering, I want to ask you: Is there a mountain you dream of climbing or a mountain you have already climbed? When I do anything, whether it's going on a hike or climbing or walking or doing a project, all I want to do is finish it. I want to do everything in one day. I want to hike to the top in one day. Super73 has taught me that this is the quickest way to...

Michael Cannavo, Co-Founder of Super73 growing up in Orange County he found himself ready to graduate high school and join the Air Force, but things took a turn when things didn't pan out, but they lead to more excellent pastures. After finding out about the bad news of the Air force denial, Michael was defeated and started getting into the routine of regularly playing video games and working at Costco. At Costco, he felt the feeling that he could be doing more, and the event of him touching a live wire and having a full circuit of energy flow through his body kicked started the journey that would lead him to Super73. After quitting his job at Costco, Michael became a wedding videographer. Doing that for many years, he built his own wedding videography business at the end, having an empire and being the premier wedding videographer in all of OC. Michael made many connections in the business, but it never gave him a sense of fulfillment. So he went on to join an OC startup where they were building these scooters which could hold industrial equipment. Long story short, it was ahead of its time. But one weekend, Michaels's co-worker AP Wong built an electric scooter with beefy bike tires, and Michael filmed a video of it. They then had the idea of putting it on Kick Starter, where they raised 20,000 Dollars. With that Kick Starter momentum, they started getting noticed by influencers. One of the famous influencers that supported Super73 in the beginning was Andy Millanokis. He praised the bike and asked him to bring a bike up for him and his friend Jesse Wellins. Jesse Wellens relationship was perfect from the beginning because he understood the brand and the goals of it. This understanding led to a collaboration between Jesse's brand Rose Ave and Super73, where they made a Rose Ave bike, and it sold like hotcakes. From there, it led to Casey Niestat wanting a bike. But Michel knew it wasn't ready yet, so he held off for a year to make sure that the bikes were reliable. A year later, it was ready, so he gave a bike to Casey, and he reviewed it, and it garnered much attention. Michael and Casey and Jesse make many creative videos, the highlight being the speeder bike video in NYC. From here, Michael made custom bikes for artists and people that he admired. Like the story of the 24Karot Gold bike for Post Malone where he went out to Coachella on a whim and got the bike for him. Before Michael got the bike to him, the bike toured around at many VIP parties and even led him to hang out with Snoop Dog. He made bikes for legends like Sway Lee, Jesse Wellens, Snoop Dog, Casey Niestat, Rahul Kohli, Post Malone, Will Smith, and many more! Michael has been able to make a phenomenal community around the bikes. Michael's favorite part is being community rides. Recently the company held time trials at Motoranch racing the bikes on a dirt course. We also can't forget Michaels's Passion for Star Wars and how he got involved with the 501st. One day he decided to go to a Star Wars event where he brought a clone wars helmet, and someone asked him if he was part of the 501st. They are a community of people who go around sharing the love of Star Wars while doing philanthropic work in their personalized clone wars suits. Michael said no to the person, but that sprouted the opportunity to be part of a group that shared a like-minded love for Star Wars culture. All in all, we're excited to see what the future holds for Super73.

His Mom told him he needs to spread his wings and live on his own at the age of 18. He was denied at the Air Force, he made pizzas at Costco, then found himself making a healthy living doing videography for events, but it didn't equate to happiness, he felt he had more in him. He met two guys who today are his business partners, they created the vintage 1970's motorcycle but for E-bikes (Super73), in the process, he lost everything he worked so hard for - but in the end, it was worth it. This is the true American story with a lot of perseverance, hard work and dedication. I hope it inspires you.
