This week, Steven, Ben, and Devon record remotely to avoid the usual chaos (rat wrestling included). From blacksmithing birthday gifts to questioning the ethics of breakfast, it's a classic episode full of heart, guilt, and sci-fi coziness. Real Life Devon's work trip was mostly pointless, thanks to the other party being wildly unprepared. Meanwhile, Steven got new windows installed and watched Captain America: Brave New World in the middle of it all — his verdict: “fine,” which seems to be Marvel's current default. He and Ben discuss Harrison Ford stepping in as Thunderbolt Ross, the return of The Leader and Red Hulk, and whether Marvel's third-act fight addiction is dragging it all down. On the home front, Steven had an “intense Thursday” filled with gymnastics class, BBQs, and blacksmithing five custom hooks for his mom's birthday. Ben went to the beach and made a solid case for awe — like ocean waves — as a cure for modern burnout. Oh, and Yellowcard is releasing a new album with Travis Barker on drums. Yes, really. Future or Now Devon read Animal Liberation Now and now feels like a hypocrite for still eating meat. The book's argument: if animals can suffer, they deserve rights. Cue a deep dive into factory farming, animal testing, calorie efficiency, and whether “ethical meat” should be a rare luxury rather than a daily default. They talk about cows, chickens, and baby monkeys; the morality of milk and butter; and why our modern food system depends on people looking the other way. Steven questions how to get enough protein on a vegan diet, and Devon admits it's complicated — especially for anyone without time, money, or access. If nothing else, they agree that learning to treat animals better might teach us how to treat each other better, too. Book Club: A Psalm for the Wild-Built The gang begins Becky Chambers's cozy sci-fi novella, where humans and robots live separately but peacefully. Dex, a non-binary monk, ditches the city to become a tea monk — traveling the countryside offering comfort in the form of warm drinks and conversation. Their first attempt fails, so they go all in: building a hydroponic tea garden and trying again. The story is full of sustainability, small joys, and gentle spirituality. The hosts love the “cozy punk” vibe and Ben's especially struck by the god of small comforts' advice: find the strength to do both. Next chapter brings a two-year time jump — and (hopefully) a robot. Thanks for listening and supporting the show — and for sticking with us through windows, waffles, and weird philosophical spirals. – S, B & D

Mostly Superheroes the podcast is back! Join hosts Logan Janis, Andy The Giggler, and Scotty Scoop as they feature fan reviews from our Screen & Social event where we saw Captain America: Brave New World. The guys also review the film and talk about the good, the bad, and the "what the hell were they thinking?" moments. Full podcast episode, movie trailer, and more: https://mostlysuperheroes.com/posts/captain-america-brave-new-world Quick take: The movie doesn't have the magic of Deadpool & Wolverine or The Winter Soldier and, for unexplained reasons, wraps up loose ends from 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Not to mention, but of course, we're going to mention it—the total waste of Gus Fring, aka Giancarlo Esposito. Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson shines as bright Captain America in this packed film and Harrison Ford turns red as the new Thunderbolt Ross not quite filling the shoes of the late and great William Hurt. The crew gets into all of this and more. Thanks to all that attended our Screen & Social! Trev and Joe are here to record a quick DOFP episode about recent MCU X-Men casting rumors. But then, an unexpected visit from Uatu the Watcher sends us into the multiverse, where the guys do not host an X-Men podcast, but instead are the hosts of Casting Podmerica, a show about all things Captain America. Perfect timing, as the multiverse Trev & Joe are able to review the recently released Captain America: Brave New World, to share their thoughts on how the movie not only stacks up to the previous Captain America films, but how strong of an MCU entry it is in general, at a time when the overall franchise is arguably struggling. Does the film do Sam Wilson justice? Is Harrison Ford actually good as Thunderbolt Ross? Can the movie's trouble production history be felt in the finished product? It's a Brave New Podcast, with equipment supplied by Wakanda Audio! In this episode, Jay, Robbie and Bonnie - wait, what? Sorry - those are the three that went to see Captain America, Brave New World, together, but Bonnie opted out of the podcast recording. Art opted out of both, saying something like “The Wheel is gonna' be really good tonight.” Jay and Robbie give their take on the latest offering from the MCU, which Jay now knows is something of a sequel to Edward Norton's Hulk movie. How did Sam handle the mantle of Captain America? Was Harrison Ford believable as Thunderbolt Ross? How will this film be remembered in the MCU? Listen and find out what The Guys truly thought about this long-awaited opening of the MCU year. And there are questions to be answered in the Geek of the Week segment: what will happen to 007 now that Amazon Prime is in control? Will he now be known as James Bezos? And what about Dr. Who? Is the new Dr. out, and if so - is there even a replacement in the Tardis? Dr. Sterns is calculating all the answers.

It's a New World Order. Scratch that, it's a Brave New World, as the fourth Captain America film makes its big screen debut. This time around it's Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) who wields the shield, while still wearing the wings, as if he is not quite sure this gig is gonna last. This delayed, retitled, and much reshot MCU film marks Cap 2.0's first big screen appearance and the follow up to the 2021 Disney Plus series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. So, is it good? The Regular Joes answer with a resounding, “sort of.” They run down the good points and the bad points as the first of three 2025 Marvel films falls short of it's box office hopes. Did we mention Harrison Ford is now Thunderbolt Ross … and a Hulk? There's also the usual Random Topics and a round of What's in the Box. Thanks for listening!
WARNING: Do not listen to this episode unless you have seen the 2025 Marvel Studios release "Captain America: Brave New World" or do not mind hearing key plot points. Captain America: Brave New World is the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It follows the storyline of Sam Wilson, who inherited the shield from Steve Rogers in Avengers: Endgame. Sam's story continued in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It also takes plot points from The Eternals, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: Civil War. It stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America and Harrison Ford, who takes over for the late William Hurt as “Thunderbolt” Ross, who is now the President. Acclaimed sportscaster Marshall Harris rejoins the podcast to contribute to the review. In this episode, they discuss the challenges for this movie, which includes in the introduction of Giancarlo Esposito through reshoots. They talk about the movie's marketing, which included the Red Hulk. Plus, they talk about where this movie fits in the greater MCU.
Fresh from the theater, I share my immediate impressions of "Captain America: Brave New World," where surprises abound with the return of characters like Thunderbolt Ross and Samuel Sterns. Anthony Mackie's portrayal of Sam Wilson as Captain America stands out, blending his Falcon roots with the iconic shield-bearing hero. Join me as I unpack the film's thrilling action sequences, especially those aerial combat scenes inspired by Top Gun Maverick, and how they breathe new life into the MCU's action repertoire.Harrison Ford steps into the shoes of Thunderbolt Ross with a performance that shines brightly, while Carl Lumley delivers a powerful portrayal of Isaiah Bradley, leaving us wanting more of this intriguing character's story. As we speculate on the future of the Avengers with hints of Sam Wilson reforming the team, the film teases exciting multiverse developments in its post-credit scenes. I'll share my thoughts on the balance of character focus, as some side characters feel underused, but the overall film remains a fun watch despite the critical reception, this episode offers a blend of excitement, speculation, and a heartfelt appreciation for this mid to high-tier Marvel experience.Music Produced by BlackOutBeatz414: https://www.youtube.com/@BlackOutBeatz414Facebook: www.facebook.com/GeekVisionz/Twitch: www.twitch.tv/geekvizentYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@GeekvisionzEnt.

In this weekend's 'Captain America: Brave New World' Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, finds himself in the middle of an international incident after The Serpent Society tries to steal a valuable resource and the original super soldier Isaiah Bradley attempts to assassinate President Thunderbolt Ross... but are those the only things going on in the film? Sam Wilson is back as Captain America in a movie that was clearly ambitious in how much story it wanted to tell in just under two hours. Harrison Ford joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thunderbolt Ross, and we get plenty of high octane action. Brandon and Stoney sat down over the weekend to hash out our thoughts on the latest effort from Marvel, Captain America: Brave New World, on a brand new episode of The Vick's Flicks Podcast.
FIRST 35:00: Spoiler-Free Review with our See It/Skip It Verdict AFTER 35:00: Full Spoiler Review This week's See It or Skip It has us diving into the highly anticipated Captain America: Brave New World (2025), now playing in theaters. Directed by Julius Onah and starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, this latest entry in the MCU marks a new chapter for the Star-Spangled Avenger. Join Ian and James as we step into a post-Endgame world to see if Brave New World soars as a worthy successor to the Captain America legacy or if it stumbles under the weight of expectation. Does it honour Steve Rogers' past while firmly establishing Sam Wilson as his own Cap, or does it play it too safe without enough bold ambition? We'll examine the film's storytelling—Does it justify its place in the MCU after so much time since Falcon and the Winter Soldier? How does Anthony Mackie fare in his first solo Captain America outing, and does he bring the same leadership and presence as Chris Evans once did? And how does Harrison Ford's debut as Thunderbolt Ross shake up the Marvel landscape? We'll also break down the action and spectacle—Are the fight sequences and choreography on par with the intense, grounded combat of The Winter Soldier? Does Julius Onah bring a fresh visual style to the franchise? Did Marvel choose the right villain to challenge Sam Wilson's Cap? Finally, we'll debate whether Brave New World stands strong as a new era for the character or if it struggles to break free from Steve Rogers' shadow. Does the film move the MCU forward in an exciting way, or is it another formulaic installment? We'll tackle all these questions as we dissect the movie and tell you if we think you should SEE IT or SKIP IT!
ANOTHER MCU DIVIDE?! Captain America: Brave New World reviews and reactions are finally here, and the results are... mixed. While Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) takes up the shield alongside Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross (aka Red Hulk), disappointing critic scores and what appears to be lukewarm audience reception have raised some serious concerns. Coy Jandreau & Greg Alba dive into what might be going wrong at Marvel Studios—Cough Cough Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man—and whether their marketing strategy is failing to connect with fans. With Daredevil: Born Again bringing back Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, and Wilson Fisk's Kingpin, and Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four taking their first steps into the MCU's future, how does Marvel course-correct and reclaim its former dominance? Plus, with Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon, Robert Downey Jr. is set to return... but not as Iron Man—he's taking on the role of Doctor Doom! Issue 194 - Thunderbolt Ross Intro Captain America: Brave New World reaction coming to Patreon Background (1:38) General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in The Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962) Lieutenant General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross oversees gamma bomb project that ultimately leads to the creation of the Hulk (Bruce Banner) Grew up in a military family, and was focused on serving his country from a young age - joined the Army Air Corps (later Air Force) and worked his way up through the ranks Bruce's growing relationship with Ross' daughter Betty was a source of frustration and anger for him, as was the recurring nuisance of the Hulk - Ross made it his personal mission to find and destroy the Hulk Several times he allied with villains to battle the Hulk, which ultimately led to his dismissal from the military Betty and Bruce get engaged, but the Leader turns Hulk savage, and the wedding is called off - Betty later marries Glenn Talbot, and Ross is satisfied that Banner will never be his son-in-law When Talbot was captured by the Soviets in a rescue mission to save Ross, his apparent death fractured his relationship with Betty, as well as a demotion at work because of his inability to capture the Hulk Betty divorced Talbot and revealed she still loved Bruce - enraged by this, Ross allied with MODOK to have the Abomination kill the Hulk, but Betty caught wind of the plan and accused her father of treason - he was discharged from the Air Force and nearly committed suicide When Bruce and Betty get married, Ross shows up at the wedding with a gun to stop the ceremony - Rick Jones intervenes and is shot non-fatally In a SHIELD experiment he merges with Zzzax, a being of sentient electrical energy - in a battle with a mutant, he expends his energy to save Betty, and dies His body was resurrected by the Leader, and he rejoins the Air Force After Betty is killed by the Abomination and Hulk is exiled by the Illuminati, Ross sinks into an alcoholic depression - when Steve Rogers is shot, he is visited by MODOK and the Leader and offered a chance to gain Hulk-like powers - he then becomes Red Hulk, and his first act is to kill the Abomination for murdering Betty Ross' identity as the Hulk is kept secret for over two years before being revealed during World War Hulks He later joins the Avengers, where he befriended an LMD named Annie that helped give him some perspective and understanding about things Temporarily bonds with both the Venom symbiote and the Spirit of Vengeance, becoming a being known as the Circle of Four - this is to defeat Blackheart, son of Mephisto Gets depowered by Doc Green, a super-intelligent version of the Hulk Issues - Theme is “a small river flowing long enough becomes a canyon” (7:10) When tradition becomes a trap Overprotective of his daughter (13:44) Oh yeah, the Hulk stuff (25:15) Break (29:06) Plugs for Play Comics & Geek Peak Treatment (30:19) In-universe - Out of universe - (32:37) Skit (39:51) Hello General Ross, I'm Dr. Issues. - Doctor, with all due respect, let's set the record straight. I didn't come here for treatment. I came here for a clean bill of health. I've been involved in enough government missions, secret protocols, and super-powered expeditions that I should be the last one to hide from any flaws. I'm not perfect, but I don't have to be. And that was before I learned about getting red in the face. Well, that is a hot start, General -I don't do jokes, if you don't mind. There are serious matters at hand. But you…I'll keep that in mind. Sheesh. There are always serious matters at hand. That's how the world works. That doesn't mean they all have to involve you. -Agreed. I pick my spots. But those are enormous spots. I know my enemy better than they know themselves. That's what's lacking in battles nowadays. The foe has no concept of planning. So many people think being random makes you dangerous. It just makes you a fool. Well, not to sound condescending, but I doubt all of your plans go the way you want them to. -A plan is useless. PLANNING is indispensable. Do you know who said that? Dwight Eisenhower. So you enjoy the process necessary to reach goals, and not just the goal itself. -If I didn't then I would have stopped existing a long time ago. I think people get that wrong about me. They think I'm some madman that wants to destroy the Hulk at all costs. And that was wrong…how? -I was never a madman. I'm calculating the whole way through. The heat thing says otherwise -Emotion in battle, Doctor. It's something you can't wrap your head around. Oh yeah, I get the rage, but in the fog of war, that can be the guide to see you through. No hippie woo woo love fest is going to save you when bullets are zipping and bombs are dropping. The only time you bring in God is to say “Thank God it's over” and you've won. You present more demure than expected. -You sound like one of those Gen Z types when you say that. You're a grown man. Act like it. So no social media memes; understood sir. But are you really past everything that's listed in your file? Banner? Betty? Intelligencia? Avengers? It says here your own likeness was killed! None of that sounds traumatic to you? -Of course it does. So what? We all have trauma. I used to let it eat at me, just shove it down my own throat, and let it all come out when the time is right. But with what I have now, there's no secrets. It's on my skin, in my veins, and radiating through the air. I finally found a way to have nothing to hide. My choices, my fights, my consequences. Anything to add to that? You're hitting the same note. What brings you enjoyment? How about sadness? Do you have any fears left? -You're breaking the cardinal rule; you're supposed to ask one question at a time. I'm sad that too many people think too small for their entire lives. I find joy in being one of the few living creatures to destroy multiple so-called badasses because I can adjust tactically and not be held down by magical thinking. I fear that anything less than a perfect rating in this assessment will leave me with a permanent mark that will have me use your office as a rage room. *pause* Didn't you shoot someone at your daughter's wed -*interrupting* RAGE. ROOM. You don't have to be so pushy about it. -So, are you slapping the PTSD label on like everyone else? No, I'll think outside the box and go I-G-E-D. -What the hell is that? What is this? A new Super Sideshow Podcast? You bet your booty. We have a brand new trailer for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts. Plus, information about the Ironheart show we didn't even know we were getting and What if Season 3! We back, baby! Captain America: Brave New World https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pHDWnXmK7Y -We see Isaiah Bradley, the 1950s Captain America and the first Black Super Soldier. He was how the bad guys got the super soldier serum in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Remember him? Well, he's up to some bad stuff... https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Isaiah_Bradley_(Earth-616) Thunderbolt Ross is now the President, played by Harrison Ford. He's attacked by Isaiah. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Thaddeus_Ross_(Earth-616)#Secretly_Becoming_the_Red_Hulk There is a massive fight in the middle of the ocean. And, if you look carefully, you can see the hand of the dead Eternal from, well, the Eternals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternals_(film) Lots of Cap fighting, both in his suit and without. Fun stuff. Clear images of Giancarlo Esposito as the Sindwinder, leader of the Serpent Society. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Serpent_Society_(Earth-616) Thunderbolts* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IiAm7KUuoY You guys can google these on your own, but we have the White Widow, Red Guardian, USAgent, Ghost, the Winter Soldier and Taskmaster. Along with, I think, Sentry. Lots of pretty cool superheroes here. The Thunderbolts was originally real, real, different. I'm curious what we see with this team, and if Baron Zemo will be involved. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolts_(comics) I'm thinking all this is taking place in New York City, at the Stark Tower, or whatever it was from the first Avengers Movie. Ironheart Ugh, yeah, there is going to be an Ironheart Disney plus show? Comes out June 24th. https://www.superherohype.com/news/587304-ironheart-daredevil-born-again-trailer-disney-2025-series What If...? Oh, and we get the final What If...? Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. We were all expecting some exciting news and confirmations coming out of Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation, but nothing could have prepared us for the biggest and most shocking reveals; so, let's break down the tastiest Marvel morsels making waves: Jumping straight into the big Avengers News The Russos Bros were officially announced as the directors of both upcoming Avengers films. MCU veteran Stephen McFeely also was revealed to be writing the screenplays for both. The untitled fifth Avengers film that was once The Kang Dynasty, is now Avengers: Doomsday and is eyeing May 2026 for its release. The title and release of Avengers: Secret Wars was confirmed for May 2027. Robert Downey, Jr. will return to the MCU to play Dr. Doom. Captain America: Brave New World kicked off the proceedings where we learned: Harrison Ford's Thunderbolt Ross is, in fact, our Red Hulk Tiamut is the source of Adamantium in the MCU Giancarlo Esposito's mystery character is Sidewinder, a leader of the Serpent Society After a Thunderbolts* cast appearance, the focus switched to the Fantastic Four film, which was revealed to include the subtitle: First Steps; with the titular cast taking the stage even as filming just began in London. Regarding would-be Marvel saviors, Deadpool & Wolverine, this year's sole theatrical outing for Marvel Studios, was an absolute monster at the box office, hauling in more than $211 million domestically in its opening weekend. That was enough to make it the sixth highest opening of all time in the States, as well as the highest opening for an R-rated film ever; And it was no slouch worldwide either, with an impressive $444.3 million 3-day opening globally. While the Distinguished Competition did not have nearly as visible a presence at Comic-Con this year, the week was still full of noteworthy updates from DC Studios. First, figurehead James Gunn unveiled a new logo for the studio with a simple, clean design that, much like his version of Superman appears to, harkens back to the Golden Age of comics. Additionally, we got our first look at the DCU's debut project, Creature Commandos, via a trailer that showcased the show's animation and each team member in action. Lastly, it's a double dose of Penguin news, as the third trailer for the upcoming Colin Farrell-led HBO original series hit the internet alongside the news that Matt Reeve's and Bruce Timm's Batman: Caped Crusader series at Amazon will feature a female Penguin. We'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the reason Comic-Con exists in the first place… The Comics! Thankfully, our resident aficionado is here to give us a snapshot of the latest and greatest happenings from the panels and pages of our favorite fictional universes. Take it away, Hayley: SAG-AFTRA is striking against major video game companies after nearly two years of unsuccessful negotiations for its Interactive Media Agreement. The strike began on July 26 at 12:01 a.m. Last week on July 25, Kevin Feige received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Several actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe were in attendance for the ceremony. Dune and Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson has joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming Peaky Blinders movie and will star alongside Cillian Murphy. The long-rumored Spawn movie may finally emerge from development hell. With a script titled King Spawn now completed, creator Todd McFarlane and Blumhouse's Jason Blum are set to meet with directors. At San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount unveiled the title sequence for the upcoming animated series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Set in the universe of 2023's Mutant Mayhem, it will bridge that film and its sequel. The series streams on Paramount+ starting August 9.

Hey everyone, the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World has arrived… a day later than we were expecting! There's a lot to discuss in this trailer, including our first looks at Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, Giancarlo Esposito as a mystery character, the first appearance of The Leader, a potential celestial cameo and, of course, Red Hulk! Because of that, I'll be breaking down this trailer, frame-by-frame, looking at all the hidden details and comic book ties you all may have missed. I haven't done one of these in a while so hopefully I'm not too rusty. Enjoy!

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for information about all your favorite Fictional Universes Marvel Studios had a strong showing during last week's Cinema Con in Las Vegas, where Kevin Feige dropped bombs and F-bombs while unveiling footage from Deadpool & Wolverine and Captain America: Brave New World. The look at Deadpool featured 9 minutes of spoiler-free material introduced by director Shawn Levy, which was preceded by a comedic clip with the title characters in costume bemoaning cell phone use in the theater. Meanwhile, the Cap 4 scene included an interaction between Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, with Isiah Bradley factoring into a confrontation. Paramount also made several major announcements during its Cinema Con panel; officially confirming the Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover film is in development and will be produced by Steven Spielberg. An R-rated, live action feature film adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin storyline was also announced, as was a new Star Trek origin film that will act as a prequel to the 2009 movie, slated for a 2025 release. Perhaps most importantly, the studio debuted the trailer for Gladiator 2, starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington. We received our first indication of a title change for Thunderbolts when we caught a glimpse of the logo during Florence Pugh's set tour a couple of weeks ago. Kevin Fiege confirmed the title change while remaining cagey during his appearance at Cinema Con saying, “Yes, you'll notice the asterisk on Thunderbolts. That is the official title of Thunderbolts and we won't talk more about that until after the movie comes out.” James Gunn revealed the official insignia for his DCU version of Superman during Cinema Con. The emblem features a clean and simplistic design that is reminiscent of the logo from the Kingdom Come comic line. Deadpool and Wolverine are joining the viral popcorn bucket craze. While promoting the film at Cinema Con, Kevin Fiege confirmed an intentionally crude and rude bucket was being designed by Deadpool himself. Lionsgate shifted The Crow release to August 23 from its initial June 7 date and postponed Saw XI by a year, now set for September 26, 2025 Hailee Steinfeld joined the cast of Ryan Coolger's untitled horror thriller film and will star alongside Michael B. Jordan. StarWars.com announced a new comic miniseries starting July 3 called Star Wars: Inquisitors. Lionsgate announced that Blumhouse will revive The Blair Witch Project. It's currently unclear if the film will connect to the original 1999 film or reimagine the concept. Margot Robbie's production company Lucky Chap will produce a film based on the board game Monopoly. Nia DaCosta, director of The Marvels and Candyman, is in discussions to direct the second film in Sony's 28 Days Later sequel trilogy, with Danny Boyle returning to helm the first sequel from writer Alex Garland. Tim Kring, the creator of the superhero drama series Heroes, is pitching a sequel titled Heroes: Eclipsed to potential buyers. The original series aired for four seasons on NBC and was followed by a limited series titled Heroes Reborn in 2015. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has been renewed for Season Two at Apple TV+. In addition, Apple struck a deal with Legendary Entertainment to develop multiple spinoff series set in the Monsterverse. Star Wars author John Jackson Miller is penning Batman: Resurrection, a continuation of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film, set immediately after its events, in contrast to the Batman '89 comics, which occur after both Burton films. Glen Powell, star of Anyone But You, Twisters, and Top Gun: Maverick will star in Paramount's The Running Man, a new adaptation of the Stephen King novel that Edgar Wright will direct.
