Das Studio, das mittlerweile weit mehr ist als nur eine Kompositionsschmiede, ist in der internationalen Freizeitparkwelt fest verankert. Inzwischen erstellt das Team aus NRW nicht nur Musik für Trailer und Filme, sondern bietet mit der Tochterfirma IMAmotion auch komplette Themendesigns an. Jüngst gelang es, mit der Beauftragung für die Musik des Epic-Universe-Themenparks in Orlando einen ganz großen Fisch an Land zu ziehen. Wir haben Chef Xaver Willebrand auf der IAAPA Expo Europe in Amsterdam getroffen und mit ihm über das Business gesprochen.

Die Aufwind Rides hat sich vor einiger Zeit auf Simulatoren, Media- und Dark-Rides für mittelgroße Parks spezialisiert und dabei in den letzten Jahren für einigen Wirbel auf dem Markt gesorgt. Dabei sind die Badenser nicht nur Ingenieure und Designer, sondern entwickeln einen Großteil der Anlagen auch noch selbst. Den kleinen, aber mittlerweile weit über seine Landesgrenzen hinaus bekannten Themenpark „Fantasiana” haben wir bereits in Episode 19 kennengelernt. Selten hat ein familiengeführter Park dieser Größe mit so guten Attraktionen und einem so motivierten Team aus Fachleuten und Enthusiasten gleichermaßen geglänzt. Erst jüngst ist der Erlebnispark sogar prominent von einigen US-Fans gehuldigt worden. Dass man in Straßwalchen aber noch höher hinaus will, zeigt unser Interview mit Parkleiter Simon Spitzbart. Darin sprechen wir natürlich auch ausführlich über den neuen Stryker-Coaster „Helios” aus dem Hause Mack Rides, der den legendären (aber am Ende seiner Lebenszeit angekommenen) PAX-Coaster „Wild Train” als gebührenden Nachfolger ablösen wird.

Der Jaderpark in Niedersachsen ist erst seit einiger Zeit so richtig auf den Karten von Freizeitpark-Fans aufgetaucht, nachdem man mit dem Okavango River und dem Ziegelblitz zwei beeindruckende Headliner-Attraktionen ins Portfolio aufgenommen hat. Eigentlich geht die Geschichte des Jaderparks weit zurück, aber erst seitdem die Familie Ludewigt den Park 1995 übernommen hat, legt der Tier- und Freizeitpark ein beeindruckendes Wachstum hin. Warum das so ist, versteht man schnell, wenn man mal einige Zeit mit dem sympathischen und umtriebigen Geschäftsführer Andy Ludewigt unterwegs ist. Afgelopen week vond de pretparkbeurs IAAPA Expo Europe plaats in Amsterdam. Een beurs waar iedereen uit de pretparkindustrie bij elkaar komt en waar veel nieuwe aankondigingen gedaan worden. Cedar Point surprised us all with the announcement of their new attraction for 2025... a record breaking tilt coaster from Vekoma called "Siren's Curse." We'll tell you all about it. Plus, EB just returned from Indiana Beach with a review of the "All American Triple Loop!"

In einem denkmalgeschützten Gebäude in Bottrop befindet sich auf einer Gesamtfläche von 6.000 Quadratmetern eine ganz besondere Attraktion: eine interaktive Simulation des Berlins der 1920er Jahre - eine spannende Mischung aus Escape Raum, LARP und immersivem Theater. Ähnlich wie bereits bei Phantom Peak (siehe Episode 56) stehen bei ELORIA das eigene Erleben, die spannende Geschichte und die ganz persönlichen und interaktiven Momente mit der Themenwelt und den Schauspielern im Vordergrund. Der Betriebsleiter von ELORIA, Michael Brackhagen, führt uns in dieser Ausgabe des Podcoasters einmal durch und einmal hinter die Kulissen dieser beeindruckenden Stadt und erklärt, was die Leute hinter ELORIA antreibt, wie man so ein ungewöhnliches Konzept am Laufen hält und welche einzigartigen, ungewöhnlichen und manchmal auch mutigen Angebote die Erlebnisfabrik für seine Gäste bereit hält.

Deutschland hat viele PR-Agenturen, die alle um Kunden buhlen. Da macht es durchaus Sinn, sich auf etwas zu spezialisieren. Das dachte sich auch Liam Kreutschmann und hat seine Liebe zur Freizeitindustrie zum Beruf gemacht, indem er seine eigene Content-Agentur “Studio Magisch” gründete. In unserem heutigen Podcoaster haben wir ihm deshalb ein paar Fragen zu den Themen Marketing und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für die Freizeitindustrie gestellt. Dabei erfahren wir auch, welche branchenspezifischen Besonderheiten es aus PR-Sicht zu berücksichtigen gilt.

Wer sich schon mal gefragt hat, wie eine Aussichtsgondel in solch großer Höhe noch mit Strom versorgt wird, ohne dass sich ein Kabel verheddert, oder wie ein Drehteller in einer Wasserattraktion tausende von Rotationen macht, ohne dass die verlegten Kabel reißen – der ist bei unserer heutigen Folge genau richtig. Die Firma igus ist Weltmarktführer für Spritzgussteile aus technischen Kunststoffen. Denn nicht immer ist Stahl der richtige Baustoff für eine Kette – insbesondere dann nicht, wenn durch die Kette beispielsweise noch ein Stromkabel verläuft. Gerade künstliches Gestein ist gar nicht so einfach realistisch nachzubilden und benötigt einiges an Erfahrung. - Disney Experiences announced that Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris will be renamed Disney Adventure World when its World of Frozen land opens. The new World of Frozen, whose opening date has not been announced, will sit next to Adventure Bay, a 56.75-acre-foot body of water that will be equipped as a future home for entertainment spectaculars in the park, with fountains, music, lights and special effects capabilities. The promenade to Adventure Bay, Adventure Way, will include a new attraction, Raiponce Tangled Spin - a Tangled-themed spinner ride, and The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, which will offer Disney Princess meets as well as views of the Bay and its entertainment. - Universal Destinations and Experiences has entered a public feedback period for its proposed theme park in the United Kingdom. As part of they have release an indicative master plan of how the 476 acre plot could be used. The land is located in Bedford, which is about an hour North of London. Let's hope that they are going to be branding this park Universal Studios UK and not the first rumoured name Universal Studios Great Britain. - The Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks are about to revamp their procedures for accommodating guests with accessibility needs. The changes come after use of Disney's DAS [Disability Access Service] pass among guests has more than tripled at the Disneyland Resort over the past five years, according to park officials. - Universal Stella Nova Resort will open January 21, 2025, while Universal Terra Luna Resort will open February 25, 2025 on Universal's new south campus, located near the Orange County Convention Center. In a new concept video, we saw lots of details about these two moderate resorts. - Disney has given us more creatures for their new Princess and the Frog ride, with a team of frogs joining the musical shenanigans. - Universal Studios Hollywood is bring in a temporary stunt show called "The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show" will open April 27 and run through May 19, in conjunction with the opening of the Fall Guy movie, which opens May 3rd. This new pre-show will play in front of the WaterWorld stunt show. - The new Real Madrid World theme park officially now is open at Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is a retheme of the former Bollywood Parks Dubai park. - Holiday World has sent passengers out on the first test runs of its new coaster for 2024. Good Gravy! is a Vekoma family boomerang coaster that is set in the park's Thanksgiving themed land, and it's first passengers were dressed in turkey costumes. - Dorney Park in Pennsylvania is opening it's new Dive Coaster Iron Menace to a series of special events over the next few weeks, before the parks opening for the season on May 10th. - Meanwhile Kennywood also in PA has announced that The Steel Curtain will remain closed for the 2024 season. - Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced the opening date for its revamped Loch Ness Monster, Loch Ness Monster: The Legend Lives On will open officially May 10 at the Virginia theme park. Busch Gardens has replaced 900 feet of steel track on the 1978 Arrow Dynamics Custom Looping Coaster, as well as added new show elements to the ride and its queue. - Intamin release a video of the newly installed trains for Europe's first installation of its single-rail coaster model. Mahuka will open later this month at Walibi Rhône-Alpes in France. The Intamin Hot Racer is the second installation of the model, following Big Dipper at Sydney's Luna Park. - Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort has become the first theme park restaurant in the US to be awarded a Michelin star.

Deno's Wonder Wheel is a historic landmark ride which first opened in 1920. It still looms large on the Coney Island skyline, beckoning riders from near and far to climb aboard. The Wonder Wheel remains the anchor of what is now known as Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. The park has grown quite a bit and includes many recent additions including a Vekoma family thrill roller coaster, Phoenix.
