Living Life To The Fullest  http://learntruehealth.com/living-life-to-the-fullest Living life to the fullest is mostly everyone's ultimate goal. Life has so much to offer in terms of personal growth and enriching other people's lives through what we do. However, for some people like my guest, Wesley Chapman, it wasn't a smooth ride. Been through hell and back, he is living life to the fullest by telling his story of survival, resilience, and hope. Traumatic Childhood Wesley Chapman's childhood was full of trauma. Born to parents who were both incapable of raising him in a normal environment, Wesley Chapman was diagnosed with 'failure to thrive.' "Failure to thrive is a human being's lack of the basics that make us up as a species a.k.a. like having love or the feeling of being nurturing," said Wesley Chapman. "The physical side of hygiene, nutrition and basic rights of humanity were likewise inadequate." Wesley Chapman recalls that people around his parents tried to get them to change their habits. However, rather than turning better, things apparently got worse. Abandoned And Molested Before Wesley Chapman turned a year old, his father abandoned the family. He says his mom protected her herself by remarrying out of safety and necessity. Wesley Chapman's stepfather, however, was nowhere near the doting father that Wesley Chapman yearned. Apparently, it was not long before Wesley Chapman's stepfather showed his true colors. He was insanely abusive to Wesley Chapman and his younger siblings. Consequently, the abuse was physical, emotional and sexual. "I wake up in cold sweat scared of being molested while watching my siblings being molested. But as the oldest boy, I wanted to take the brunt of the abuse," said Wesley Chapman. He adds, "Internally; I was torn. It didn't help that my younger brother was mentally disabled. Doctors also thought I was a functioning mentally-handicapped person. I was labeled a lot. Hence, I was made to take a lot of medication." Being Orphaned At the age of 6, Wesley Chapman had to deal with his mother who was struggling with a lot of issues. By seven years old, Wesley Chapman became an orphan when his mother also abandoned him and his siblings. Consequently, that made Wesley Chapman very angry. At a young age, Wesley Chapman was made to feel that he was worthless. Hence, living life to the fullest seemed like an impossible dream. "I played the victim role, and I was labeled so much. I didn't trust anyone, and I wasn't communicating well with others," recalls Wesley Chapman. Suicide Was An Option With so many bad things happening, Wesley Chapman felt hopeless. It seemed like he was never going to be living life to the fullest. Hence, suicide became a daily occurrence. "If you read my journals, it's crazy how much writing I did. Before the age of 16, I had 12 documented suicide attempts," Wesley Chapman shares. "Plus, the medicines were tearing my body apart. Hence, I became so sick." Going Cold Turkey However, at 16 years old, Wesley Chapman got tired of these medical professionals dictating to him how to live life. So one day, Wesley Chapman decided to go cold turkey on all medication. Because of that, he went through withdrawal symptoms but survived through it. "Looking back, my traumatic childhood was a saving grace. It was something that gave me a chance to strive for living life to the fullest." Wesley Chapman said. Picking Up The Pieces Life didn't become rosy overnight after Wesley Chapman decided to eradicate medication from his life. Abuse was daily at his foster homes even after he left his biological family unit. He still experienced physical, emotional and spiritual abuse until the latter part of his teenage years. Wanting to start living life to the fullest, Wesley Chapman began to read up about health. He mainly focused on how to maintain a healthy liver and the importance of staying hydrated all the time. Aside from paying attention to what he ate and drank, Wesley Chapman likewise paid attention to his body chemistry. Apparently, every emotion is a chemical reaction. Fast forward since that time, Wesley Chapman has been medication-free for years and rarely takes antibiotics. "I was tired of a lot of things. So I made a deal with God to do my part by correcting things in my body," Wesley Chapman said. "It also helped that my last foster mom loves me. The support meant a lot to my evolution." Sowing Success Wesley Chapman eventually found success in business, marketing, and storytelling. He says one of the essential elements of his journey is understanding the human mind. Learning self-worth is likewise a significant factor in his personal growth. "Make something happen. Being a victim gets you nowhere. Power, control and empowerment essentially comes from responsibility and ownership," said Wesley Chapman. He adds, "Choose to have a better life and create something powerful, meaningful and worthwhile. We are not the labels we are given, but rather we are what we choose to be." Tips On How To Wake Up That Hero Within First of all, Wesley Chapman says that the initial step is to integrate a sense of deep-rooted honesty within yourself. It goes hand in hand with responsibility and ownership. Consequently, if you're still pushing pieces of your life onto somebody else, you're not in the honest portal. The next step is learning how to heal. And people heal in different ways. But regardless of how you recover, understand the 'why' and have empathy to those who affected and infected you. Primarily, you heal by yourself, and you do that by analyzing what life is for you. "If you're living the healthiest life inside and out, you're going to attract the right people in your life. They're going to be drawn to you in that way," explains Wesley Chapman. "We are living in a world now where more people need to become warriors of strength. That's why I do what I do." Abandoned by both parents, abused, forgotten and diagnosed to never amount to anything of value – this was the foundation of Wesley Chapman's self-worth. Despite such horrifying beginnings, Wesley grew up to found successful businesses and work with some of the most significant, most respected brands in the world. Back in the 1800s, the “rags to riches” stories of Horatio Alger and others were very popular reading material. They were designed to encourage youngsters to dream big and work hard to gain success over time. Today's guest not only could have written one of those stories, he's lived it. Wesley Chapman was born to a teenage mother and was severely abused and neglected in a number of situations throughout his childhood, resulting in his first suicide attempt at the age of 4. On this episode, which is a keynote address given at Freedom Fast Lane LIVE 2015, Wesley tells his story and the discovery he made that changed everything for him. Wesley's story proves that YOU have no excuses. During his introduction of this episode, Ryan Moran, host of Freedom Fast Lane, makes this observation: Wesley Chapman's story proves that nobody has an excuse for being a failure. Wesley had every reason to quit, to believe that he'd never amount to anything, and to live out the destiny that had been handed to him. But he didn't. Through the belief and love of one person, he was able to change his beliefs about himself and begin moving in a more positive direction. Over time, that positive motion translated into a larger vision that includes helping teens build a positive future for themselves, no matter what they've been through. You can hear Wesley's story and the impact he's making, on this episode. A traumatic childhood that got him labeled as “hopeless.” At 3 months old Wesley Chapman was diagnosed as a “failure to thrive” baby. That label began a long childhood of tests, prescription medication, and hospitalizations that resulted in everyone giving up on him. Even his mother abandoned him at the hospital when she took him in for one of his many appointments. As he grew older he came to the false conclusion that the solution to all his problems was money. That drove him into a self-made sales career that was highly successful but ended in his own version of hopelessness, in spite of the financial success he'd achieved. What was it that he discovered at that point? You can hear him tell the story himself, on this episode of Freedom Fast Lane. “I had everything everybody wants, but it didn't matter and I wasn't happy.” After rising from a dysfunctional and abusive childhood, building his own version of a successful sales career, and becoming a success by virtue of his own hard work, Wesley Chapman found himself on an exotic beach looking out at the waves. He thought about his life, where he'd come from, and where he was headed. It was in that moment Wesley realized that he still wasn't happy or fulfilled. From that day on the beach, a series of events led him to his first opportunity to speak to middle school students at a California school and the outcome not only changed his life but the lives of hundreds of students as well. It's an amazing story of lost direction, hopelessness, and the discovery of purpose. Take some time to listen to Wesley's story on this episode. The moment when he realized it was not about him, it was about them. The first time Wesley Chapman spoke at a school event he was part of a team of inspirational speakers that made the rounds to different schools. He tried to be funny. He was as engaging as he knew to be. Still, he was bombing his presentation. He threw out an emergency prayer to God, asking for His help. Then everything changed and the school meeting turned into one of the most powerful moments of his life. You can hear what happened, how it happened, and how it led Wesley to become the youth advocate and speaker he is today, on this episode of Freedom Fast Lane. Outline Of This Great Episode [0:05] Ryan's introduction of his guest, Wesley Chapman. [8:39] Wesley's story in his own words. [14:40] His first suicide attempt at 4 years old. [1:02:33] How you can get in on the FFL LIVE event for 2016 Action Steps From This Episode FOR GREATER SUCCESS: Get yourself connected to someone who truly believes in you. It may be a spouse or friend. It could be an accountability or mastermind group. But you can't hit success on any level all on your own. You need others. FOR GETTING STARTED: Figure out who YOU are. You won't be successful by imitating someone else, you've got to be who YOU were made to be. It takes work. It takes time. But knowing yourself is where you begin in order to make the biggest impact. Sometimes a YCE episode will also be a Q&A, so if you're child is doing something that is driving you nuts, please ask me about it – just go to weturnedoutokay.com/contact – but most often the YCE will be on the same topic the previous Tuesday's guest episode. Let's dive into your kid's head together! Tuesday's guest, Wesley Chapman of A HUMAN Project, gave you and I lots of ways to help our young children feel loved, appreciated, and an integral part of our families. If you didn't get a chance to listen to our interview, I think you'll love it – it's Weturnedoutokay.com/024… The obstacles that Wes has overcome and the positive difference he's making and the lives of thousands of families will blow you away. For today's Your Child Explained episode, we highlight the letter you in HUMAN: to Wes, U means Understanding. Today's show, as we look into our young kids' minds, we see a desperate need on their parts to be understood by the people they love most. How do you communicate that you honor their ideas, that you "get" your child, no matter how young? Maybe it's as simple as saying "I understand" sometimes; maybe it's slightly tweaking your routine to honor your toddler's preferences. The best thing is that putting the letter u in Understanding can have great consequences! They can help you know your child better, it can help you laugh together… It can help you have more fun. Do you Understand your child? If so, please share! Go to the contact page at Weturnedoutokay.com, or comment right here in this post – it took me years to be able to Understand each of my boys, I'd love to know how you do it. And, thanks for listening!

WARNING: EXTREME INSPIRATION AHEAD What did you want to do when you were 4-1/2? Do you remember? Wesley Chapman wanted to die. His 1st (of 12) suicide attempts was at age 4-1/2 to escape the emotional, physical and sexual torture of his biological mother's husband. But Wes wasn’t SUPPOSED to die. He was supposed to change the world. And he is... Abandoned at age 1 by his famous TV father and then again by his biological mother at 6, Wes wasn't supposed to amount to anything but trouble... He also wasn’t supposed to find a loving family until a kind hearted woman named saw what everyone else dismissed and discarded as a problem-child, taking him in and loving him)... He wasn’t supposed to become an entrepreneur at age 8 1/2, but did out of necessity... He wasn’t supposed to become a multi-millionaire before he was 30, living a luxurious life with 9 cars, $3,000 suits, marry a beautiful woman and raise his amazing kids... He wasn’t supposed to give it all up and start over because of the emptiness he felt inside from the never-ending pursuit of proving everybody wrong... AND a young girl named Alex wasn't supposed to impact 82 other children's lives and empower them to succeed... ...Because the morning Wes came to her school to share a message of hope a few short years ago was SUPPOSED to be her last day alive... Until Alex heard Wesley Chapman speak. This day set in motion a new beginning for Wes and he's sharing his story and his mission to transform the lives of 25 million at-risk youth with the most world's most valuable skills and support through "A Human Project"... Life on Fire TV (Audio) – Online Business Coaching With Nick Unsworth

Hey hey! Welcome to episode 139 of Life on Fire TV. Today we’re talking to one of the top 3 people I know living a life on fire, Mr. Cole Hatter.  Cole joins us for his second visit, and this time we’re talking about prospering with purpose and making money matter. Check it out on today’s episode of Life on Fire TV. Even though Cole’s been on the show before we didn’t spend a lot of time digging into his backstory, and that’s something we do on this episode.  Cole is an exceptional businessman, father, husband and friend. Ever since he was a child he wanted to make a measurable difference in the world. His first calling was to the brotherhood of firefighting.  But a severe car accident ended that dream, and also ended the life of one of his best friends. Cole remembers very little about the accident except the ER surgeon telling him someone must have plans for Cole because there’s no reason he should have survived. Just two months later Cole lost his other best friend in a tragic dirt bike accident. Buoyed by his church family and his internal commitment to his friends’ too-short lives, Cole was determined to make his life mean something. Because his friends had passed away far too early in their lives Cole was committed to making the rest of his life matter and be a testament to their memories. In this episode you’ll hear: Can money buy happiness? (16:00) One immediate way to stand out in a crowded marketplace. (17:20) Why you have a responsibility to run a profitable business. (26:00) How to create a for-purpose event: Cole breaks down the steps. (27:00) Why did Cole shoot videos for his upcoming event? (34:30) And so much more! And Cole has done that, he has prospered with purpose. And because of his commitment to living a life on fire, he is now teaching people how to prosper with purpose and how to make money matter. He says the two aren’t separate, you can and should have both!   In this episode Cole shares a simple way to practice this in your business whether you’re in the start up stage or you’re an existing organization: add a charitable angle to what you’re already doing.  You can give a portion or a percentage of all of your sales to a non-profit, and advertise that you are doing so. Let people know their money is going to a good cause, as well as to your business. And don’t worry about losing that money you donate, Cole believes your sales will actually increase because people love to contribute to organizations that do good. Not convinced? Think of these two companies: Tom’s Shoes and Sevenly. What are those two businesses really? They are a shoe company and an apparel company. And aren’t there already hundreds of thousands of companies in both of those spaces already? So why did they make such a splash, create brand loyalty and astronomical sales? Because they give a portion of their sales to non-profits, and people love to feel their purchases are going to help others.  Because he’s a man on a mission Cole is also spreading this message at his upcoming event, Thrive. His for-purpose event is to teach people how to make money, how to protect that money and how to make that money matter, create the most impact. And the proceeds are going to a non-profit, A Human Project our good friend Wesley Chapman spearheads. Have a listen as Cole breaks down the steps he took to create his event, and how he got some of the biggest names in the world to join him even though he had a tiny mailing list! I have donated $50 towards this, and I hope you all can reach out and at the very least share this episode to help raise awareness and hopefully some money. Also, as mentioned in the comments of the Go Fund Me page, Lorie does not have insurance, only Medicare. The following is taken from her son's GoFundMe campaign: http://www.gofundme.com/DanielsMom Just over 11 yrs. ago, my mother fell and injured her back.  She was given a standard wheelchair to use until she recovered from her back surgeries. What we didn't expect was that the surgeries themselves would do even more damage and it would lead to a life long need for a wheelchair. Her original chair is old and very difficult for her to use whenever the ground is wet, she comes to uneven pavement or even when she needs to push herself up various ramps, because it is a heavier chair w/standard wheels and made for someone else to be pushing.  Finally, it weighs 25lbs. which she struggles with everytime she needs to put the chair in and take it out of her car. With that all said, I have seen her keep to herself and stay home in the last couple of years, more and more. I also know that she would never ask for help in getting a new chair...but she really needs a custom fit chair that is light enough to transport as well as easy to maneuver on her own.  I know that if she could get out and about more often, she would likely see some positive affects on her health. After doing quite abit of research on the different types and brands of wheelchairs, I have narrowed it down to two wheelchairs for her to pick from. http://www.tilite.com/chairs_2gx.php  http://www.tilite.com/chairs_aerox.php I am trying to raise the money to purchase one for her.  She gave my sisters and myself everything we needed as we grew up and now I want to do the same for her. My mother spent her entire adult life as a single mother raising my sisters and myself. There were many years that she worked 3 different jobs...to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.  I can even remember times when she would not eat so that we all had meals. I now want to help her to enjoy her life...Although she is in Chronic Pain most days, if she could get out more often I believe she would feel a lot better and I would feel better knowing she was safe when she's out and about on her own.  With the chair she has now, she has gotten caught in rain and her wheels continuously slip. She has crossed busy intersections and then couldn't get up the ramp to the sidewalk on the other side, because of uneven pavement and the wrong size of tires.  Finally, the worst incident was when she was getting on the Metro Rail and the small front wheels got stuck and the doors of the train closed w/her half in and half out.  Luckily there was someone who quickly jumped off and lifted her chair up and into the train.  The bottom line is that she needs a chair that is built for the type of places she goes and will fit her measurments vs. the standard chair where her feet hit the ground if she doesn't hold the off the ground. The control we give an experience is on us. "We have two options in life: we can be the victim or the hero."-Wesley Chapman The Cheat Sheet: What was his first entrepreneurial enterprise at the age of 8? Why he was on 25 pills a day until he was 16. What is H cubed and how can you use it in your own life? How comic books inspired him. Why did he meet his biological father at a Toys"R"Us? And so much more... At the age of only seven and a half our guest for this episode was told he would be lucky if he weren't in jail for murder or rape by the time he reached 25. And yet today he is a well-known and successful entrepreneur, husband and father who is helping other youth cope with the same difficulties he experienced as a child and teen. Wesley Chapman is the founder and originator of A Human Project, a for-purpose organization dedicated to helping abandoned, abused and neglected youth get the love and support they deserve. We discuss how vulnerability helped him heal and become not only a survivor of horrific abuse, but a testament to the capacity of the human spirit on this edition of The Art of Charm. Click Here to Support The Show and get 10% off Onnit! More About This Show: Wesley Chapman experienced more horrible events by the age of 16 than most of us do in our entire life. From sexual and mental and physical abuse to abandonment, Wesley experienced all of it as a child. His biological dad abandoned him when he was only a year old and his mom left five and a half years later. A family member took him in when he was eight and he was finally given some stability. As a child and into his teens he was also on many medication to treat the myriad of diagnoses he had been given. From ADD to PTSD to bipolar, he was diagnosed and prescribed something to treat it. Then he needed pills to treat the side effects of those pills, and the side effects of the side effect treatment medicines. All of which took its toll on his health. By the time he was 16 his liver failed and he had two options: get a transplant or hope his liver detoxed in enough time to save his life. His mom took him home, told him how he could detox and initially he resisted. But he turned to prayer and made a deal with God: if he did the detoxification, got off all the pills and God got him through it, Wesley would give to him in return. And it worked: Wesley detoxed, stopped his meds, lived through several days of nightmarish drug withdrawals and came out the other side with more clarity than he had ever had. With that clarity he finally understood he was allowing his abusers, some of whom weren't even in his life any longer, to run the show. He took responsibility, stopped being a victim and decided he wanted to be his own hero. With that honesty, the first of what he now calls his H cubed tool, he could heal his old wounds properly and fully. He understood he couldn't control what happened to him, but he could control how he responded to it. And when he grasped that concept fully he found hope, the last of his H cubed strategy. Wesley is taking his own personal lesson and helping others get honest, heal, and have hope. Though his primary demographic is youth, his programs at A Human Project also apply to adults. He has found immense power in being vulnerable with AHP and audiences in general; he learned how to let go of shame by sharing his story and being transparent in his experiences. He no longer hides what happened to him, and is an open book because he understands how doing so allows other people to work through their own shame, fears, and challenges. Wesley goes into even more detail on this episode, including what it was like when he finally met his biological father and why he does what he does. Please listen and join me in thanking Wesley for his candor, honesty and immense heart. As always, thank you for joining us and we'll see you next time. THANKS WESLEY CHAPMAN! Todays guest is a man who has a desire to give back to the world and empower the youth of today.   For the ages of 11 to 17 he is creating a movement to assist, support and empower young individuals that are living or have experienced issues in their personal lives that are quite simply too horrible for the majority of us to understand. Abuse, both mental and physical, the stripping away of self esteem, the taking away of bright futures that should be a child's right. Leaving many with no other option than to feel they have to take their own lives. He understands how they feel, as for many years he was just like them. Trapped in a dark world as a child, that no child should endure.   Memories of trips to the circus. Visits to the park, or just fun and free moments which all children should savour not something that he can look back at. He tried to take his own life many many times, and thank god he didn't succeed, as he is know fighting back. His entrepreneurial journey has led him through many different dots, and its the joining of his dots that are so remarkable. Remarkable as with each step he has taken into the light, his own personal light is burning brighter and brighter and now with his Human Project he is blazing a path for millions to follow. As he says on his blog “I work daily to spread the message of H.U.M.A.N.; HOPE, UNDERSTANDING, MAKING A CHOICE, ACTION STEPS and NOURISHING THE POSSIBILITIES. I work with youth who are looking for new hope and a new path. Youth that refuse to let their surroundings dictate their outcome. Youth that want to become more then they are shown, told or given the resources to become. Youth that are willing to take action and make choices their parents were not able to do in their lives. My mission is to eliminate the words, “broken”, “worthless” and “victim” from the children's vocabulary we reach. I speak all over the United States to children educating them on their REAL options in life. Informing them that all they must do is dream, act and nurture the possibilities to achieve ultimate joy.” Before I have even spoken a word  to todays guest, I can say that he is a total inspiration to me, and so its with a huge honour that I bring onto the show to start joining up dots, the one and only Wesley Chapman. Here to answer one of the questions we should all ask when starting a new business, “How will I scale and grow the business?” is entrepreneur and founder of A Human Project, Wesley Chapman!   First, there’s automation.  If there is any way to package what you deliver into a replicable process, such as recording a training as a series of videos, that allows the customer to consume the training at their convenience.     Next, comes leveraging other people’s content.  If there are other people in your niche or other companies who can provide resources and solutions to your customers, perhaps partnering with that person makes sense.  (Similar to a “supplier” relationship, if you’re in a business with physical products.)   Another great tip is to make yourself more accessible in more places.  For instance, if you have a video blog, why not start a YouTube channel?  Why not start a podcast and get your content on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher Radio, and more?     And, finally, what about people?   For Wes, what he found was when you are perfectly aligned with your passion, and you are communicating that out to the world, you will find others who share your passion and want to be a part of what you’re doing.   Don’t keep your mission a secret!  Let other people know what you’re doing so they can help you make it happen, even faster!    We hope this episode inspired you to share your mission and start growing your business faster!  If so, please write us a review in iTunes telling us what you love about Life on Fire TV and leave us a 5-star rating.   Thank you for subscribing to our podcast in iTunes!  You light our fire!
