This week it's a new milestone...our first-ever (that we know of) Grammy nominated guest, the incredibly charming Chris Johnson from Deafheaven, Summoner, Doomriders, running live sound, and engineering lots of great recordings, including the Worshipper tracks on the Glory or Death Thin Lizzy and Deep purple tribute and the Magnetic Eye Records "Live at Day of Doom" records featuring Elephant Tree, Domkraft, Horsehunter, and Summoner. Deafheaven released a career retrospective record titled "10 Years Gone" in December 2020 featuring new recordings of old tracks, handled masterfully by their longtime collaborator Jack Shirley. As always, we covered ground, including Chris' growing love of surfing, getting a car stolen in San Francisco, attending the Grammys, why the headstock on Dingwall basses is so silly, a new live record from Deafheaven, when touring will start again, coming up in the Boston scene (he has a checkered past...thanks Santos!), and his all-time favorite hometown band (Cave In). As a bonus delight, watch all three of us struggle to remember which song Summoner recorded on Magnetic Eye's Black Sabbath tribute (Chris played and recorded it and it's Jeff's favorite Sabbath song, but still we struggled). We also listened to music and stuff...really good crop of submissions this week! TITLE – A Heart Focused: Worship TEXT – John 4:23-24 Romans 12:1 - “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Don Whitney – “In one sense we can say that all things done in obedience to the Lord, even everyday things at work and at home, are acts of worship. But these do not substitute for the directly focused, exclusive-of-any-other-activity, biblically based worship of God.” “Worship is focusing on God and responding to God” True worship is… 1 – FROM THE HEART – V.23-24 John 4:19-20 – “The woman said to him, ‘Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.’” John 4:21, 23 - “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father…. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit…’” John 4:22 – “You worship what you do not know, we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.” 2 – BASED ON TRUTH – V.23-24 Don Whitney said - “Meditation on the truth, rightly done, can kindle the emotions of worship and help us worship in spirit. Conversely, the right kind of heart for God, ready to worship in spirit, loves God’s truth and longs to be guided by the truth.” 3 – PUBLIC & PRIVATE – VARIOUS The healthy heart is committed to: Private Worship: Focused time with God is indispensable Luke 5:16 Public Worship: The gathered church is a big deal Hebrews 10:25, 1 Corinthians 12:12

I have been busy and swamped lately with being a "virtual teacher", coaching football, and preaching on Sundays. I have been unable to push out content for my podcast. But I have been preaching on Sundays at New Life Family Worship Center in Fulton, KY and I have started on David. The title of my series is Anointed, Messed Up, and Still a Man After God's Own Heart. In the second installment of the series, we focused on David the Worshipper. I am 3 messages into the series and I have enjoyed revisiting the life of God's appointed King. I think he has a lot to teach us in the times we are living in!

Part 4 of 4; Special Guest Interview with Sis. Charonda Johnson. Charonda Johnson is the founder of "Warriors Are Restored Facebook Prayer Group" In this segment you will hear how Mrs. Johnson built “Warriors Are Restored” and this conclusion will show you how she brings hope for the future to our Warriors. This ministry came as a result of her quest for inner healing. She had a desire be healed but that desire did not stop there she wanted to heal other warriors who have been affected by the same thing. The awesome thing is that she was not clinical in her approach. She sought connection through empathy. Which is a method that Jesus uses all the time. She sought God for a way to give them Jesus. She was healed and learned to cope with her own struggles, which by the way did not stop after she left military service. She has been there; she has gone through with Jesus and this connection brings hope. Her call to arms is to serve the military members by praying for them, the friends, their families, and our nation. This is an act of choosing to help bring them the help that they need. Mrs. Johnson shares straight from the heart about how it felt to struggle and not have anyone connect and understand where she was at. She gives hope to the darkness that sometimes surrounds our warriors. She speaks about soldier suicide rate increasing and how personal this is to her. We close with prayer and you will never be the same again. This conclusion offers you hope for the future. Meet the Speaker - Click Here Part 1 - Click Here Part 2 - Click Here Part 3 - Click Here
Charmaine Rayment is a voluntary missionary at Jews for Jesus. She has a real passion for worship ministry. Sister Charmaine has agreed to become a contributor to a podcast series called “A Life of Worship”. This is the first part of a teaching series entitled “David: The Heart of a Worshipper”. Music is from Matt Redman. Below, you will find some notes from the episode. Follow our Spudcaster page for more podcasts. Notes from this episode DAVID – THE HEART OF A WORSHIPER PODCAST 1 Creation – perfect worship on earth existed. After the fall – different attitude in man’s worship of God as demonstrated with Cain and Abel (Gen. 4:3-7), and Aarons two sons Nadab & Abihu (Lev. 10:1-3). Worship always has been and always will be manifest in our lifestyle as a result of our relationship with God. Know God personally – (Spiritual re-birth vs dead religion). Worship is a response to God’s revelation about Himself. DAVID One of the characters in the Bible through whom we can learn so much about worship is David – The sweet singer of Israel (2 Sam. 23:1). A man after God’s own heart (1 Sam. 13:14 & Acts 13:22). DAVID’S CONTRIBUTION TO WORSHIP Established the Tabernacle of David whereby he appointed some of the Levites to minister in music before the Ark of the Lord (1 Chron. 16). Wrote Psalms (73 of the 150 Psalms in the Bible are attributed to him) and made musical instruments for the musicians to use in their worship (1 Chron. 23:5; 2 Chron. 7:6; 2 Chron. 29:26). Was given the blueprint for the building of the Temple of Solomon (1 Chron. 22) and set apart those whom would minister in music during the worship in the Temple. SHEPHERD – HUMBLE BEGINNINGS What was it that God saw in David? We are not told what David’s relationship with God was like during this period but it was during this season that he was anointed by Samuel as the future king (1 Sam. 16). The fact that God tells Samuel that He had chosen the future king amongst Jesse’s sons, tells us that God saw something in David. In 1 Sam.13:14 Samuel already tells Saul that God has sought out a man after his own heart. SEASON OF FAVOR King Saul – season of favor (harpist and armor-bearer). SEASON OF HARDSHIP King Saul becomes jealous of David and his success and plots to kill him. In the process Saul enlists 3000 men to chase, capture and murder him. David now has to flee for his life and for the next 7-8 years with the 400 men that have joined him, lives in hiding as he flees from Saul and his men. Read Psalms 18; 34; 52; 54; 56; 57; and 59 which were written during this time. SEASON OF FAVOR Anointed as King of Juda and reigns over Judah for 7 ½ years. Anointed king of Israel and reigned over all Judah and Israel for 33 years. David commits murder and adultery thus breaking 2 of the 10 commandments (2 Sam. 11). David repents when rebuked by the prophet Nathan (2 Sam. 12). Psalm 51 reflects David’s penitent heart. David’s son Absalom conspired against him in order to take over the kingdom (2 Sam. 15-18) and again David has to flee. Psalm 3 reflects once again David’s faith in God to deliver him from his enemies. In having looked at the life of David, we can see that no matter what the circumstances were, David always placed his trust in God and as he experienced God in his life, he responded in worship. PODCAST 2 WORSHIP WITH A HEART LIKE DAVID. David earnestly sought to know God and as a result, he knew the God whom he worshiped. David fully engaged his heart in worship to God and was fully surrendered in His worship to God. David learned to worship God in any situation and expected his perspective to be changed during worship. David didn’t take approaching God’s throne lightly. David embraced the sacrifice of worship. David’s honesty with God drew him into worship. This is obviously not an exhaustive list of things we could learn from David’s worship. But I hope it’s enough to encourage us to worship with a heart like his that says, “My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!” (Psalm 57:7). In having looked at the life of David, we can see that no matter what the circumstances were, David always placed his trust in God. David didn’t just know about God (He also would have had access to the books of Moses and would have known about the numerous times that God guided, protected and provided for his people), but he knew God as he had personally experienced God in his life. The question is, do we have that kind of relationship with God?

Is engagement in politics prohibited, permissible or necessary in Islam? What does the Qur’an say about our responsibilities to the world? Why did Shiism have a period where political engagement was prohibited? In part one we introduced the series by looking at how the Qur’an relates the responsibilities of a Muslim society and how it can practically affect a non Muslim society. This leads us to ask what is the foundation of Islamic political thinking which this part focuses on. The purposes of creation The first point is that building good governance and infrastructure in which people can thrive is one of the reasons for creation. The Qur’an and Ahadith detail several reasons for our purpose, of which this is one. Let us review some of these purposes and note how some of them relate directly to the need of political participation: 1) Purpose is to serve God (51:56) And I have not created the jinn and mankind except that they may serve Me. 2) A purpose is love of Ahl al-Bayt (a) In the Event of Kisaa (refer to commentaries of verse 33:33) the angel Gibrael states that Allah (swt) said, “I have not created the skies, the earth, the moon or the sun except for the love of the five underneath the cloak” meaning the Prophet Muhammad (s), his daughter Lady Fatima (a), Imam Ali (a) and Imam’s Hassan (a) and Hussain (a). 3) Purpose of Isti’maar (Cultivation) (11:61) And to [the tribe of] Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said: "O my people! Worship God [alone]: you have no deity other than Him. He brought you into being out of the earth, and made you thrive thereon. The third purpose of creation is for us to cultivate and progress our civilisation. Thriving here means something positive; something of benefit. In the Islamic sense if you cultivate something harmful it does not fulfil the goal of cultivation and so it does not count. Of course when cultivating civilisation this needs regulations and policies which would be the responsibility of a just government. This is why the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (s) states, "One hour of a Just Ruler is better than 70 years of the Worshipper” because his impact in cultivating the earth can produce so much positive progression. 4) Purpose of Istikhlaaf (stewardship) (6:165) For, He it is who has made you inherit the earth, and has raised some of you by degrees above others, so that He might try you by means of what He has bestowed upon you. The fourth purpose of creation is stewardship. Specific stewardship is reserved for those appointed Caliphs of Allah (swt) however, general stewardship is for all mankind to be responsible for the planet and what is within their capacity to be a shepard over. This stewardship is divided into two: Care for that which came before you and responsibility toward those who will come after you. Those before you will have performed their Isti’maar and cultivated civilisation; we are obliged to protect and develop it further. If it has reached us in a poor state we are obliged to improve it. This may be roads, healthcare systems or the environment, for example. If it reaches us having being improved we are also prohibited from damaging it as per the verse “Do not corrupt the earth after its reformation.” As for that which we are leaving behind, we are responsible to leave for the forthcoming generations a world which is healthy, safe and productive for them. In this way we are the link between what came previously and what is to come which also requires standards and laws which are put in place by government and policy makers. Alles Zufall? Göttliches Wirken mit der fetten Schüttung vom Himmel? Ganz private Einblicke in das Leben eines Mannes; komplett ohne Starallüren. Mit einer Offenheit, die auch vor peinlichen Bekenntnissen nicht Halt macht.
In John chapter 4 Jesus spoke with a Samaritan woman and said to her: “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." This message entitled ‘I am a Worshipper' forms part of the current sermon series - ‘This is me' - exploring our identity in Christ. This message looks to identify what it means to be a true worshipper of God as defined by the Lord Jesus.

Our Sermon From 12-09-2018 Be a Worshipper
Christmas Tree Hunting In the early days of Advent, we drive out to the Beck family farm to cut down a Christmas tree. Our only rule is it must be shorter than “Mom” so it will fit in our house. This rule is always disappointing, especially as you walk around towering and beautiful trees. Instead of those giants, we pick a tree that only slightly dwarfs Charlie Brown's. And yet, once we bring the tree into our house, we realize it's too big. There isn't room. We have to move furniture, change our seating arrangements, and move lamps out of the living room. It inconveniences everything. It disrupts our feng shui. Our children clamor to decorate it as fast as possible, placing all the ornaments on the bottom half of our tree. The whole, lovely experience involves getting muddy, dirtying our car, moving furniture, pulling boxes out of the basement, and attempts at teaching a five-year-old the aesthetic of a balanced Christmas tree. This is one of my favorite moments. It's the moment we prepare room in our house for the Christmas season. It's the moment we make our house ready for the ongoing celebration that is full of expectation of God's arrival. This physical discipline and family moment is an outward expression of what takes place within us. You are a Disciple and Worshipper of God Advent is a fresh invitation from God to prepare room in our hearts, minds, souls, and bodies to worship Him. This is the call to worship we hear as we sing in Joy to the World: “Let every heart, prepare him room.” This is not merely a missional call toward the world but it is a call to each other and ourselves in community. Many leaders and missional communities forget we are welcomed into a life of enjoying God, knowing His love, and experiencing His presence in our lives. We forget that we are God's mission and on God's mission. You and your community were created to live the gospel in unity with God. To taste the grace of God through repentance and faith. To worship God through confession. To know the depth of God's love by listening to God. Christopher Friedrich Blumhardt notes the discipline we undertake of preparing room and searching for God's work today…even in the ordinary. "One does not always have to wait for something out of the ordinary. The all-important thing is to keep your eyes on what comes from God and to make way for it to come into being here on the earth. If you always try to be heavenly and spiritually minded, you won't understand the everyday work God has for you to do. But if you embrace what is to come from God, if you live for Christ's coming in practical life, you will learn that divine things can be experienced here and now." This requires an intentional focus, just like the welcoming of a Christmas tree into your living room. How will you prepare room in your heart? How will you look for God's presence? How will you turn your ear to hearing His voice? .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_content { background-color: #3b3b3b !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container .et_bloom_form_header { background-color: #2ad4c0 !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_content button { background-color: #2ad4c0 !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_content .et_bloom_fields i { color: #2ad4c0 !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_content .et_bloom_custom_field_radio i:before { background: #2ad4c0 !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_content button { background-color: #2ad4c0 !important; } .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container h2, .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container h2 span, .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container h2 strong { font-family: "Raleway", Helvetica, Arial, Lucida, sans-serif; }.et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container p, .et_bloom .et_bloom_optin_16 .et_bloom_form_container p span, .

Your mindset or attitude towards Giving speaks volumes about the condition of your heart. God sees your Giving as an act of worship, love and faith.A true Worshipper is a true Giver.A true Lover is a true Giver.A true Believer is a true Giver. This inspiring teaching (Part 1 in a series) clearly explains how your Giving is an integral part of your worship to God; how your Giving demonstrates your love towards God and people; and how your Giving reveals your level of trust or confidence in God's faithfulness and ability to keep His promises.

CONTAINER PODCAST [51] SCIAHRI www.containerproject.eu Florencebased Italian dj/producer and Cofounder and part of UNKNOT, Sciahri's approach to music is focused on the craft of a sound that blends the best of his energetic cluboriented influences with his constant experimentation in the sound development stage. Worshipper of the Detroit as well as Berlin, Birmingham and Rome techno scenes, his DJ sets are always a dynamic fusion of old and new school which tries to convey, with the same intent of his studio productions, a vigorous vibe throughout a whole musical experience that isn't a bare soulless banging, but rather a deep introspection into one's primitive musical being.

What exactly is the "Spirit of Christmas"?
What we think about our best life might be very different from what God thinks about it. To find out about his purpose, we need to look at our identity - and we might be in for a surprise.
