After 18 years of working with high performers across industries, I can spot the X factor in someone before they even see it in themselves. In this episode, I share the story of a so-called Debbie Downer at a Phoenix corporate event who accidentally gave me the exact language for something I had never been able to name. The lesson she taught the room cuts both ways: sometimes you do everything right and it still falls apart, and sometimes you botch it completely and still win. What determines your ceiling is whether you stop copying everyone else long enough to discover and own what is uniquely yours.
