Today's all about the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Pardner! Well, mostly at least. We begin with the very exciting conclusion of Andy's Wes Borland saga and give confirmation that sometimes you should meet your heroes. Then we throw it to the hogs for questions about the latest pedal from Old Blood Noise Endeavors: an oddball fuzz with an overdriven effects loop referred to as PARDNER. From there we talk about some of our favorite uses of the pedal, naturally meander a bit, and end with some chatter about the upcoming Dark Star.Find PARDNER and other OBNE pedals: http://www.oldbloodnoise.comJoin the conversation in Discord: https://discord.com/invite/PhpA5MbN5uFollow us all on the socials: @relicmusicshop, @oldbloodnoise, @andyothling, @danfromdsfLeave us a voicemail at 505-633-4647!

Carre Callaway (Queen Kwong) tours in the U.S., U.K. and wherever her music takes her. Carre ended her tour and was in Los Angeles when we talked with her on this podcast. She talks about how music was a coping mechanism for her chaotic life. When Carre was 17 years old, a chance meeting with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, turned her life around. Carre and I met after she was newly diagnosed with CF when she was 30 years old (being a white American and of Chinese descent her doctors didn't think she could have CF), and amid a messy divorce with a famous musician. She talks about being abandoned by her husband and friends after the diagnosis. This is her first in-depth discussion about life with CF.Carre talks about how she went into survival mode and being in what felt like a hopeless situation. Carre embraced being an imperfect human and figured out how to thrive inspired by her massive loss.Carre has released three records, and is in the process of writing a book about life with CF. Life with CF as a punk rock, Indie rock singer with hemoptysis (coughing up blood) happening in between or during gigs.Carre is in a loving relationship and doing well. En este episodio de El Álbum Esencial conversamos sobre “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water”, el tercer álbum de Limp Bizkit, lanzado el año 2000.
It is time for us to talk about everyone's favorite band to hate. Results May Vary is the album to be broken-down by the rap rock Nu-metal outfit Limp Bizkit. It is the sole-leadership of vocalist Fred Durst that gets Monster on a new tangent and the departure of Wes Borland, who left in 2001, that forms his theory about this one.
Slow Burn. Metalcore mosh maniac, abstract art painter and concerned tour dad, Telle Smith, is our guest on Episode 253 of Sappenin' Podcast. The Word Alive vocalist unleashes unfiltered secrets on the bands ‘Hard Reset' evolution, unforgiving stage injuries and the scariest ghost town, you never want to visit. In this conversation, we dissect career changing advice from scene legends, having a fresh prospective on TWA identity, unexpected line up changes, basketball slam dunks, the tour he sang for Underøath, mental health reflections, Limp Bizkit vs Wes Borland art DMs, Greeley Estates, the weirdest gig set up, spending time with The Blackout, neon fringes, white studded belts and more! Super Neil returns with Simon to talk all things Limp Bizkit & their 4th album Results May Vary. Recorded at a time when Limp were up there with the big hitters, Fred was apparently rubbing shoulders with peak Britney Spears but minus talismanic guitarist Wes Borland and very definitely following the Nu-Metal boom. The album has been reviled and ridiculed by music writers and fans alike and somehow garnered the second-lowest score ever on Metacritic but is it ACTUALLY that bad? We also talk about tracks that could have been included on the album, seeing the band live, Neil's vomiting practices and discuss potential vasectomies Rate and review the Personal Jukebox on Spotify, iTunes and all of your podcast providers! Episode 3 of Season 6 launched promptly at 19h00 on Rebel Rock Radio and then crashed back to earth like a failed rocket launch. It was restarted and got back on the air at 19h17. The joys of internet radio. This was the first episode going out on fibre. While podcast people have not been affected, listeners to the live show have had a really rough ride of late thanks to load shedding in South Africa. Since late 2022 it has either been my cell towers collapsing (Telcom) or if mine are up then the guys trying to listen have no power. It is, as they say, a shit show. When we did get going we started with Aerosmith and 'Young Lust' of the hugely successful Pump album. From there we had Ratt and then Sixx A.M., with 'Lies of the Beautiful People'. There were two tracks with a Metallica theme running through, W.A.S.P. with 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' and then Volbeat with an excellent cover of ‘Don't Tread on Me' to keep the show Rambling On. Speaking of which I used Led Zepellin with ‘Ramble On' and Judas Priest with ‘Better By You Better Than Me' to talk a bit about the development of modern Metal. On the local scene, we checked out more of Infanteria's phenomenal album Patriarch and a track called ‘Repent Through the Orders You Seek'. It was a pleasure to play the brand new track by South African Metal heavyweights Deadline. The track is called 'Cult of Prometheus, it has just been released, Dave Devo Oosthuizen who works tirelessly to promote SA music, sent it to me and it is a pleasure to give it some airtime. We had classics from ACDC, and Motörhead, plenty from the ladies, Laura Cox, Samantha Fish, Doll Skin, and L7. This weeks Songs that may be about South Africa included 'The Ditch' (Dave Hause), 'Don't Lie To Me' (Dokken), High 'n' Dry (Def Leppard), 'Sucker Born' (Samantha Fish) and 'Take Back Your Life' from Disturbed. This week The Immortals, i.e. classic metal tracks that are over 7 min long and will last forever, came courtesy of Deep Purple with ‘Child in Time'. Following on was hard and I delegated the job to Tool and their amazing track about two additional chromones ‘Forty-Six and 2'. A highlight of the show was a track sent to me called ‘Goodbye To The World and The Whole Damn Thing' by a band called deadfilmstar. I really enjoyed it, it has such an evil feel to it. It is Mansonesque but very fresh, check it out. Wrapping up we had UK Punky stuff from The Police, the Jam, and then for good measure, we had Böhse Onkels and a track called 'Saufen ist wie Weinen' which means drinking is like crying. It is the best Böhse Onkels track I have ever heard, love that little bluesy intro. The new Bush album The Art of Survival gave us a track called ‘More Than Machines'. Metalheads can go to the last 10 minutes of the show for Obituary and In Flames, Nu Metal fans can go twenty minutes before the end and catch Birthday Boy Kid Rock and a track off Rock ‘n' Roll Jesus and Limp Bizkit with the amazing Wes Borland on guitar doing a track called Rollin', thanks as always for tuning in guys, much appreciated, Adios Amoeba's catch you next week. Artists featured: Aerosmith, Ratt, Sixx AM, Thin Lizzy, Y&T, The Quireboys, Def Leppard, W.A.S.P., Volbeat, Sword, Infanteria, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Laura Cox, Samantha Fish, Doll Skin, L7, Dave Hause, Slash (feat Chris Cornell), Motörhead, ACDC, Dokken, Manowar, Deadfilmstar, Deadline, Deep Purple, Tool, The Dead Daisies, The Police, The Jam, Böhse Onkels, Bush, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Obituary, In Flames, David Lee Roth The Story of Rock and Roll. TSORR - Your one-stop shop for Rock

A week out from The Crystal Method's December 2022 Australian shows, Scott Kirkland talks about the DJ set he's bringing down under and dives into some very engaging topics to do with the many collaborators he's enjoyed working with. Across many album cuts, he's invited Tom Morello, Scott Weiland, John Garcia, actress Milla Jovovich, Wes Borland, Jason Lytle, Peter Hook, and Justin Chancellor to add their magic. Scott also talks about the Chef Aid album for South Park and the re-working of the song "Vapor Trail", which featured vocals from DMX, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Ozzy Osbourne.

I'm thrilled to welcome Carré Callaway and Joe Cardamone, AKA Queen Kwong and Skeleton Joe. Carré talks about growing up in a hotel and her dad's industrial/punk nightclub in Denver. Once she started focusing on music (this would be AFTER her 6th grade band, Population 3) one of her first gigs was opening for Nine Inch Nails and, as she describes it, messing up on a large scale. She's also written music with him that's never come out! But she really started finding her voice after meeting Joe Cardamone from The Icarus Line. With Joe's help Carré has developed a unique, improvisational style of recording albums. In fact, their maxim is the first take may not be the best sounding but it's the most honest. So they try to stick to that whenever possible. It has worked for her albums as well as the Quarentina film project she and Joe collaborated on.Carré also discusses her late diagnosis of cystic fibrosis and how that has affected her. She's got a new album out soon called Couples Only. She tells me why she used that name and how much of the record is about reclaiming her voice after a pretty rough divorce. Join James and I as we talk about the upcoming Cage Fight record, how naturally it came about for James to bring this project to life, and showing off a different side of his musical influences that he may not get to show in Tesseract. We also get into how James got into working behind the scenes as a publicist, and how that medium has changed over the decade plus he's been in it. We delve into music fandom and that the changing landscape of how people consume music, if the album will ever go away in favor of singles based releases, and some of the differences in rock and metal acceptance between the states and UK/abroad. We end talking a bit about James working with Wes Borland for one of his album releases and if seeing an artists like Wes who creates so many different things has inspired James to tap into something else creatively. Wes Borland you may remember as the guitarist in 90's punk/rap outfit Limp Bizkit. In 2016 he released Crystal Machete, a soundtrack to an imagined film. James and Nathan try to imagine what that film would look like.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Nekrogoblikon over Zoom video! The self-proclaimed "Best Goblin Metal on the Planet" known as Nekrogoblikon have announced their new album The Fundamental Slimes and Humours. The album will arrive April 1. "We're excited to finally release 'This Is It,' the second single from our upcoming albumThe Fundamental Slimes and Humours," the band says. "This was the first song that got completed during the writing/demoing process, meaning it's also the one we've been waiting the longest for you all to hear. Hope you enjoy it!" Los Angeles, California's Nekrogoblikon are melodic hard rock pranksters who deploy gnarly death metal earworms filled with crafty hooks, claw-pumping choruses, lightning-fast riffs, and over the top, EDM-style keyboard flourishes. With their ostentatious goblin hypeman John Goblikon, the band takes cues from hyperbolic horror-metal enthusiasts like GWAR, Finntroll, and Dethklok, while maintaining an affable, self-referential sense of humor. The group's early outings, like 2007's Goblin Island, were largely low-fidelity affairs, but by the early 2010s, Nekrogoblikon were operating at a far higher technical level, and employing a rotating cast of talented players. Founded in 2006, Nekrogoblikon self-produced their debut album, the relatively lo-fi Goblin Island, in a basement. The LP was released in 2007, and an expanded lineup was quickly assembled to help flesh out the fledgling group's audacious live shows. The more technically proficient Stench arrived in 2011, and included the single "No One Survives" — the video written and directed by Brandon Dermer (Panic At The Disco, Every Time I Die, Diplo, Dillon Francis) became a viral hit, and landed the band festival slots at Download Festival in the UK and Rock Im Park/Rock Am Ring in Germany. The Power EP was issued the following year, and in 2014 the band joined Limp Bizkit on the Kerrang! Tour. In 2015 they released the concept LP Heavy Meta via their own Mystery Box label, and in 2018, Nekrogoblikon issued their fourth studio long-player, Welcome to Bonkers, which was followed by extensive touring including performing on the entirety of the final cross-country Vans Warped Tour and Summer Slaughter. In between touring stints, the band (along with Brandon Dermer and writer/actor Dave Rispoli) released 3 seasons of RIGHT NOW, a comedic talk show starring band mascot John Goblikon. The series features a wide array of high profile guests including comedian Bobby Lee, The Used, Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die, Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, and Joe Trohman from Fallout Boy. This week I sat down with young Jake Thompson. He's the vocalist of a band called Mile End, based out of Brampton. Mile End has exploded on the Ontario scene with their debut EP Burn the Wise. This young hard working band has something to prove and I can't wait till' they start playing more shows. We get talking about how Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit caught wind of Mile End, how Michael Cera's sister isn't a fan, and the impact Guitar Hero 3 can leave on someone.SUPPORT THE BAND HEREMILE END:https://mileendband.bandcamp.com/Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & ReviewIf you're in an active band from Ontario and play metal, hardcore, screamo, punk, or alternative and want to be featured on the podcast contact me at bandecdotes@gmail.com
We're kicking off our much anticipated second season with an amazing episode on our soon to be award winning podcast. Perhaps the most romantic album we've discussed, A Perfect Circle's, Mer De Noms is an album I've loved since it first came out and all these years later, I'm still getting rollgasms listening to it. There's no better way to start Season 2 than by finding out what Rob Halford told the band or what role Wes Borland turned down. If you loved season one, well you're going to love season 2. We haven't changed the format at all. It's exactly what you know and love and if you hated season one, well the show is totally different now and very much improved. Looking forward to a great year ahead with fresh takes on old albums. $35K Club. Do or die.

Limp Bizkit of course comes with a whole new set of songs on Still Sucks. Let's see if it's any good!Don't forget to subscribe to the MalcoCast for more great content!
Welcome to today's show. Today is the 13th edition of our Flashback Friday's Series here at Having a Blast. Today, I'm highlighting a record that came out in the year 2012. This was the first year where I really embraced streaming and starting using Spotify regularly. This record is one that I missed when it came out. It wasn't until a few years after this that I went back and revisited it. It's from one of my favorite singers in one of my favorite bands. This record is called "Babylon" by Matt Skiba & The Sekrets. Matt Skiba put out this solo record in 2012. He wanted it to sound a little bit more "romantic" as he put it in several interviews, than Alkaline Trio. Cameron Webb produced the record. I know Matt and Cameron get along, as Cameron has done a few Alkaline Trio records at this point. I love this record. I love every song. I know Matt says he wanted to make a record that sounds like The Cure, The Chameleons, and Adam Ant, but this record sounds like the best that Matt has to offer whether it be solo or with Alkaline Trio. The songs are just really great Skiba tunes. Some of the songs remind me of early Green Day with some synths thrown in. A couple of noteworthy items about this record: Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit fame helped Skiba create the aesthetic of this album. I think he even helped write some of the songs or complete some of the songs. Hunter from AFI also helped Skiba with some live performances as part of his backing band along with Wes. Matt, Mike and Scott and Luke are fully engaged and possibly sober for this one! Miggy hit 500 home runs while Jack Morris is no longer in the broadcast booth. When was the last time you looked at a picture of Sammy Sosa? He has undergone a massive change to his appearance. The Woodstock '99 documentary finally gets discussed by the fellas. Limp Bizkit is as big as ever but Wes Borland has the greatest band of them all! Hunter S. Thompson was a just a regular writer in 1967 and he went head to head with a Hell's Angel on Canadian TV. We are pleading for you all to help us make the Al Pacino DMX covers album a reality. Is Scott Stapp a total scumbag or is he back on top? Obama has gone Hollywood, but Luke says Obama is still a college level writer at best. When is the last time you went to the library to check out some DVDs? Antoine Cromartie did recently. Give us your thoughts on any of this nonsense by emailing us at isitsafepod@gmail.com

This week we take a step into the warped and twisted mind of legendary guitarist Wes Borland! We talk all things Limp Bizkit - the beginnings in Jacksonville with Three Dollar Bill, Y'all, the MTV Spring Break performances, Woodstock '99, the Australia incident, Wes' time away from the band, the upcoming tour dates, and an update on the elusive Stampede of the Disco Elephants record. We also take a deep dive into all of Wes' side projects. Get the full story behind the creation of GOATSLAYER, how much music they really have recorded, why you'll probably never hear some of it, and how that project eventually evolved into Big Dumb Face. Wes also opens up about how his ego led him to create Eat The Day, and why even a producer from Pink Floyd's The Wall couldn't get that project off of the ground (hint: it has something to do with trying out over 150 singers…)Plus find out about the ghost in Wes' old house, why he didn't feel like a part of the metal community, debunking the “shade” against Avenged Sevenfold & the Deathbat comic, what the hell a white trash mimosa is, the inspiration behind Wes' stage personas & outfits, how the Space Zebra show came to be, a great (or not-so-great) Courtney Love story, the worst guitar tech ever, plus so much more you'll need a nice warm glass of hot dog flavored water to wash this episode down!Explore more Drinks With Johnny:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drinkswithjohnnyFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/drinkswithjohnnyTwitter: https://twitter.com/drinkswjohnnyShop: https://www.drinkswithjohnny.com
Wes Borland, the legendary and costume wearing rock icon, most popularly known for being the guitar player of Limp Bizkit, joins the show today! Wes was incredibly candid and completely open talking on a variety of topics. Most currently, Wes shares about his live steaming show ‘Space Zebra' that has begun to catch fire on Twitch. Go check that out because it absolutely incredible! He was so gracious with his time and played along with every single silly question we threw at him. We talked "side project" releases, if there was any backlash regarding his heroic comments relating to Marilyn Manson, and the time Wes leaned back in a chair, accidentally destroying it. He was captivating, funny and truly insightful. We couldn't possibly thank him enough for carving out some time in his busy schedule and can't wait to have him back (IN STUDIO) the next time he cruises through town.
Be prepared to get in a Florida state of mind folks: Josh and Hayden are joined by Blaine Duncan for a takedown of Limp Bizkit's "Nookie." The boys wade knee-deep through the swamp that is Fred Durst's severely warped mind and barely escape unscathed. Josh thinks the bridge is too good for the rest of the song, Hayden tries his damnedest to forgive Wes Borland's participation in the band, and Blaine uncovers the the not-so-hidden connection between Limp Bizkit's music and the current atrocity that is the "incel" movement.
Alright partner! It's Broken Records, you know what we do, keep on rollin' baby!... Ahem… Our weekly search for the lowest point of music history continues as Remfry and Steve reanimate the corpse of nu-metal and look at Results May Vary, the 4th studio album from rap metal royalty Limp Bizkit, released on the 23rd of September 2003. As a pair, one of us have fond, warm, happy and nostalgic memories of Limp Bizkit, and Remfry just about tolerates them. But even a bloke with a blue chin strap beard, a wallet chain and a (Hed)pe tattoo can admit that, following the departure of enigmatic guitarist Wes Borland and the general malaise and disdain that the world at large were feeling for anything nu-metal by 2003, this is far from the band's best work. But just how bad is it? Would we still be willing to let John Otto take us to the Matthews Bridge? Or will that red cap get yet another rap from these critics?
MAY CONTAIN METAL NOW CONTAINS METAL! We've cracked it gang, we now play actual songs (say whaaat). This week 3 bands you may have never heard of but should definitely check out in MESSAGES. We talk NEW RELEASES from City of Industry, Yashira, 156/Silence, Cryptodira, Wes Borland, Devil Sold His Soul, A Lethal Smile and Nicholas Cage Fighter. We take you through our best and worst movie soundtracks in HOMEWORK and BAND NAME GENERATOR is still a thing so, sorry about that. Head over to our insta page @maycontainmetalpod to get the accompanying episode playlist featuring tracks from the bands we mention in the episode.
We finally made it to one year here on the POD Kast, and our two hosts celebrate the occasion the only way they know how: by listening to a little bit of Limp Bizkit. It was 12 months ago when we first launched this podcast with Significant Other, and it makes sense to return to our roots, as we lean heavily into Fred Durst's self-indulgent phase with this one. Released just over a year after Significant Other, Limp Bizkit were legitimately one of the hottest bands in the world, and this album was no exception, though the cracks really begin to show. The boys delve into how this might be LB's best album musically but worst lyrically, Fred's celebrity phase, dating Christina Aguilera, Wes Borland's guitar playing, and how an album with such an absurd title and general message could become as popular as it did. We also see the other side of Wes, as he leaves the band shortly after this album and we speculate about what went wrong. Plus, Bryan explains how this album was the beginning of the end of his love for the nu-metal genre, and John learns that loving Limp Bizkit became really tough once this album dropped. Keep on rollin', baby. If you wanna keep rollin' on to some sweet bonus content, you can donate to the show at https://patreon.com/thepodkast, where $4 a month gets you access to a bonus episode every month as well. It's for when one episode of nu-metal content just isn't enough. We always bring on a special guest to discuss a compilation album with us, and this month, we reviewed the Queen of the Damned OST with Jaya Sundaresh, our first soundtrack and one with a backstory that's so early 00s and SO nu-metal it hurts. Get on it!
In this brand new monthly podcast from Street Fight Radio's Bryan Quinby and Blocked Party's John Cullen, the two men sit down and wax poetic about their favourite genre of music: nu-metal. The hosts intend to dissect one nu-metal album per episode, and first on the docket is Limp Bizkit's Significant Other. Seen by both men as the pinnacle of the genre, the two talk about their history with nu-metal and with this album specifically, before diving into a chat about Fred Durst's lyrical ability (but possible status as a genius), how much Wes Borland hated the band, the psychology behind some of the decisions made, Terry Date's production, and how Re-Arranged is possibly the greatest song ever written. And in this month's Challenge, John and Bryan square off to see who can do the better Matt Pinfield rant.
Dave and Chuck talk about a wild turkey causing chaos on a college campus, parts of the body women are most insecure about, types of booze that cause the worst hangovers, Wes Borland moved to the Detroit area, three crazy Russian women that hustled ISIS out of a bunch of cash, the day you realized you weren't so bad ass anymore, and more!
