We temporarily leave the Billie Sol Estes Mini-Series and pivot now to a Mini-Series on Mac Wallace. Today's episode is the  third in our story about  Wallace as  we cover the  Douglas Kinser murder trial. Wallace was charged and convicted of the murder but received only  a five year sentence which was suspended. In Texas at the time, this was  a crime that for most people, would have put them in the electric chair. Defended by Lyndon Johnson's  own attorney John Cofer and provided bail by two of Johnson's closer associates, the implications are that Johnson was at the very least taking steps to carefully control the trial and its outcome. Many believe that Johnson's objective was to keep his sister Josefa out of the trial and avoid perhaps exposing some of Johnson's corrupt practices. Others were more nefarious in their assessment of Johnson's motives, believing perhaps that Wallace was sent to silence Kinzer after Kinzer attempted to blackmail Johnson through Josefa. All of this possibly coming about, after Josefa said too much to Kinzer  about Johnson's  involvement in the 1948 stolen senate election and perhaps other dealings of Johnson. According to this line of thinking, Kinzer was attempting to strong arm Johnson  and secure an SBA loan to improve the operations of his Pitch and Putt golf course.  You now know most of the scandalous aspects of Estes and how Wallace might have fit in...and it wont be much longer, after the Wallace Mini-Series, that you will hear the story of  Bobby Baker. These men were all members of Johnson's Texas inner circle.  Oh, and there is more on the  Billie Sol Estes affair, so be patient and stay tuned  and you will hear it before we complete the  larger series covering  these four men.  Wallace was indeed a convicted murderer and we take you through the crime in this episode. The murder of Doug Kinser. It will be up to you to determine if this was a crime of passion that did not define who the rather intellectual  Wallace really was, or whether it was symptomatic of his core and the cold blooded killer that Billie Sol Estes made him out to be. All of these  men were quite intertwined around Johnson at the time of the assassination. They  were involved in circumstances that were closing in on Johnson too and that provided him great motive in the killing of the President.  The story is extraordinary.  After hearing of Wallace's possible involvement in multiple murders related to the Estes scandal and possibly even President Kennedy's  murder,  it is time to learn more about just who Mac Wallace really was.  Sit back and enjoy this Mini-Series covering Wallace.Rumors of Johnson's involvement began to swirl almost immediately after the President's assassination and there is a defined school of thought within the JFK assassination research community that staunchly believes in Johnson's involvement. His involvement  in both the assassination and its cover up. Part 12 continues  the story of Billy Sol Estes and addresses the episode which occurred in 1984 when Estes balked after agreeing to tell all to the Department of Justice. Estes had just gotten out of prison for the second time and was pursuing a book deal through the Moody Foundation when he hooked up with prominent Washington attorney Douglas Caddy.  The book deal was lucrative and Estes may have needed the money.  But he also needed immunity because he was going to discuss murders....lots of them, including the murder of JFK. After being boxed in at the Marshall grand jury proceedings by DA John Paschall, Estes had to make lemons out of his lemonades.  Listen in on what happened...and how Estes balked at the last minute after striking a deal with the assistant U.S. attorney of the Criminal Division at the Department of Justice. Hear Douglas Caddy tell much of the story in his own words. Caddy, a prominent Washington attorney took up the cause, but he too would be hoodwinked by Estes, when Estes at the last moment, refused to meet with the  FBI and justice department officials. All of these  men who were quite intertwined around Johnson at the time of the assassination.  Today's episode kicks off a new mini series that covers the story of Billy Sol Estes, Mac Wallace, Bobby Baker and other members of Johnson's Texas inner circle. Men who were quite intertwined around Johnson at the time of the assassination. These men were involved in circumstances that were closing in on Johnson too and that provided him great motive in the killing of the president. Today's episode begins our coverage with Billy Sol Estes who is first up in this story tell. Rumors of Johnson's involvement began to swirl almost immediately after the assassination and there is a defined school of thought within the JFK assassination research community that staunchly believes in Johnson's involvement in the assassination and its cover up. Join us in one of the most fascinating story tells of the Kennedy assassination and stick around as we will be returning to the Mexico City series right after we complete this min-series that was spawned by the recent release of the Billy Sol Estes and Cliff Carter tape that the two recorded in 1971. Folks, you just can't write this stuff. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. This  real-life story is more fascinating than fiction.  No matter whether you are a serious researcher or a casual student, you will enjoy the fact filled narrative and story as  we relive one of the most shocking moments in American History. This may be one of the most important reveals in the last 62 years since the assassination. A producer at ABC recently asked if I'd be willing to be interviewed for a documentary they're making about Bill Clinton. I agreed. Then I asked when they're planning to show it. “After he dies,” they said.“What!? Is he dying?” I asked, shocked. “Oh, no,” they said. “It's for the archive.”“You mean, it's for whenever he dies, even if that's twenty years from now?”“Exactly.”“Even if you and I are long gone by then?”“Yup.”I was relieved, but flummoxed. Was I supposed to talk about Clinton in the past tense? Should I give only the sort of glowing tribute accorded former presidents when they pass? Would it be inappropriate to say anything even slightly critical of him or his presidency? I just did the interview from my office at Berkeley. At first it all seemed weirdly morbid but after five minutes or so I forgot the weirdness and just talked. I met Bill Clinton in September 1968 on the USS United States, sailing from New York City to Southampton, England. We were 22 years old. He and I, along with thirty other young American men, had won Rhodes Scholarships to study at Oxford. (Had women been allowed to compete then, I doubt either he or I would have won.)We were heading to England by ship because that had been the tradition for newly-selected Rhodes Scholars. Six days at sea was supposed to give Scholars time to get to know one another. But on this voyage, the crossing was so stormy that most of us spent a good part of the time alone in our cabins, seasick. I stayed in my bunk and tried not to think about food. Then a loud knock on my cabin door.I staggered over to open it. There was a tall, curly-haired fellow with a big grin, holding a bowl chicken soup.“Hi, my name is Bill,” he said in a syrupy southern accent as the ship rolled and the soup sloshed. “I hear you weren't feeling well. Thought this might help.” He handed me the bowl. (He didn't say “I feel your pain” – that came later on his presidential campaign.)“Well, that's awfully kind of you,” I said, taking the bowl in both my hands while trying to steady myself and not barf on him. “I'm Bob,” I stammered. “I'd invite you in, Bill, but …”“Oh, that's okay. We'll have time later… I'm from Arkansas.” “Well, that's really great. I'm from a little town in New York State.” “It's amazing, isn't it?” he grinned. The soup was sloshing over the sides of the bowl, and I desperately needed to use the john. “Er, what's amazing?”“Small town boys. Did you ever think you and I would be here?”“No. But sorry, I've got to….”“Don't worry, I'll be gettin' on.” He turned and walked off, his hand on the wall of the corridor as the ship rolled.“Thanks, again,” I called after him. “Very nice of you.” I was genuinely touched. He waved as he walked away. Despite the rough seas, the journey felt restorative — an escape from a nation that seemed to be losing its mind and moral compass. Bobby Kennedy had been assassinated a few months before. Gene McCarthy's presidential bid had gone nowhere. Democrats were about to nominate Lyndon Johnson's vice president, Hubert Humphrey. Republicans were nominating the abominable Richard Nixon. Several American cities were in flames. The Vietnam War continued unabated. My other recollection from that voyage, by the way, occurred in the ship's stateroom, on one of my few outings from my cabin. The stateroom was almost empty except for a pale, gray, thin man sitting at a far table, smoking a cigarette. I sat down and introduced myself. He told me his name was Bobby Baker. Of all the people to be on this ship, he was the last I expected — or wanted to talk with. (If you don't remember, Baker had been a crony of Lyndon Johnson's. He was secretary to the Democratic Party when LBJ was Senate Majority Leader — until Robert Kennedy, as Attorney General, exposed Baker's alleged deals with organized crime and Baker was forced to resign. Kennedy's investigation led to allegations that Johnson himself received kickbacks from military contractors. It was rotten stuff, even worse when several newspapers found evidence that Baker had also been involved in procuring women for JFK.)We exchanged a few words and then I excused myself, pointing to my stomach. He said he understood. I headed back to my cabin. That Bobby Baker had chosen to travel to England on this particular ship seemed a cruel joke — as if to say there was no real escape. Days later, after landing in Southampton and taking a bus to Oxford, Bill and I were assigned “digs” at the same Oxford college — called University College. (Legend has it that the college was founded around 866 by King Alfred. I recall a disagreement among the faculty over whether it should celebrate its 1,100th anniversary in 1966 — detractors grousing that once they began celebrating every hundred years there'd be no end to festivities.)Bill and I spent much of the the next two years talking about Vietnam, American politics (he already had his eye on becoming governor of Arkansas), food (he liked British hamburgers, which I found revolting), and British girls. And he had an endless stream of stories about people he knew from Arkansas, Arkansas politicians, and odd and funny bits of American history he'd picked up along the way. Oh, and we did not inhale together. To say that Bill Clinton at the age of twenty-two enjoyed people and conversation is to understate the voraciousness of his appetite. We were so young then — boys, really — and we were out of America for the first time in our lives. It was glorious. That's the start of what I told ABC about Bill Clinton. More to come. It's all about family, friendship, and forgiveness on this episode of #BTLRadioShow thanks to our very special guests GENE POPE and ROXI POPE, and our prerecorded exclusive interview with RANDALL BATINKOFF. First up, it's all about THE LAST CHAMPION thanks to RANDALL BATINKOFF who goes in-depth about the film, his character "Bobby Baker", and how his real-life 30+ year friendship with Cole Hauser impacted this role and his performance. Directed by Glenn Withrow and written by Glenn, wife Hallie Todd, and daughter Ivy Winthrow, THE LAST CHAMPION stars Cole Hauser, Sean Scully, Randall Batinkoff, Hallie Todd, and Peter Onorati in this story about a former small-town hero and his fall from grace and the power of friendship and forgiveness. A "must listen" conversation about this "Must See" film! And as an added bonus, how about another "Must See" film starring Randall? Randall also talks about his other film that is also out now, ANGIE: LOST GIRLS, an important and powerful film about human trafficking from director Julia Vardin. And then listen to a real-life family affair with actor/writer/producer GENE POPE and his daughter, actor ROXI POPE, who are live talking about KING OF KNIVES. A blistering "crap-happy" comedy about a family in a mid-life crisis, as funny as the film is, there is also undeniable and inescapable truth and heart, most of which comes from this father and daughter duo who take their real-life roles onto the screen. Take a listen as Gene talks about the genesis of the film and its lengthy development, crafting his character of Frank, casting – including multiple auditions for Roxi for the role of Frank's daughter (no nepotism in this film!), bringing on director Jon Delgado and the collaboration that brings this story to life, finding the balance of humor and heart, and just the pure joy of hearing the real-life chemistry between Gene and Roxi will not only have you laughing, but wondering how anyone else could have even been considered for the role of Kaitlin. It's a fun and enlightening conversation with Gene and Roxi. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

The Federal Election Commission certainly has plenty of work to do, but what role will the FCC play, given that radio and television are under its jurisdiction? Evan is joined by Bobby Baker, Assistant Division Chief of the Policy Division in the FCC's Media Bureau. They discuss the FCC's political ad rules—from equal time and opportunity to lowest unit prices to the always-exciting paperwork requirements. Performed Voice: Ballistic Buns is a brief fragment of Bobby Baker's research into her own family history focusing on mental illness, family survival techniques and the impact of war, unhappiness and frustrated ambition on subsequent generations. This 10-minute piece involved tales of the Vicar of Byker, the Ballistic Engineer, the Life Long Anorexic, the 16” German Howitzer named affectionately 'Big Bertha', capable of blasting plenty of folk to smithereens in the First World War, the Dambusters of the Second World War and a Tasty Ending. Bobby Baker is a woman, and an artist. She lives in London. In a career spanning nearly four decades she has, amongst other things, made a life-sized edible version of her family and driven around the streets of London strapped to the back of a truck yelling at passers by through a megaphone to ‘Pull Yourselves Together.’ Baker’s touring exhibition Diary Drawings: Mental Illness and Me 1997- 2008 premiered at the Wellcome Collection in 2009, and the accompanying book of the same name won the Mind Book of the Year 2011. Her most recent live show, Mad Gyms & Kitchens, was commissioned as part of the London 2012 Unlimited project for the Cultural Olympiad. Baker is a past recipient of three separate Wellcome Arts Awards, and occupies a unique professional and personal position in the worlds of both the arts and mental health. Following an AHRC Creative Fellowship at Queen Mary University, London she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2011. Bobby Baker is the Artistic Director of Daily Life Ltd, part of the Arts Council National Portfolio.

For its 25th anniversary, Claudia Hammond is joined by community psychiatrist, Graham Thornicroft, Paul Farmer, chief executive of Mind and by the artist, Bobby Baker to look back at archive editions of the programme and explore how attitudes to mental health have changed in the last 25 years. Have campaigns to raise awareness of mental health been successful and how far is there still to go? More and more public figures are talking about their own experience of mental illness. Even last year MPs made history by opening up to the House of Commons about their own mental health problems. How much do these kinds of conversations help change attitudes?

Hosts Rich and Marla interview Anthropologist Dr. Sasha Lessin and Alien Contact researcher Janet Kira Lessin on the 50th Anniversary of JFK's assassination. The secret government, with the full foreknowledge of then Vice President LBJ, who was about to be dropped from the Democrats' ticket for the Bobby Baker scandal, told his girlfriend the night before the fateful Dallas parade, "After tomorrow, we won't have to deal any more with the Kennedys." Films Wm. Cooper secured show Kennedy's Limo driver turned his head when he heard a shot and saw Kennedy shot in the neck (He is supposed to speed away, not stop). The Secret Service guy next to the driver took the wheel and the driver turned and shot Kennedy in the head. Cooper's film shows where the gun-barrel was scraped off the film for the public. Jaqueline jumped out of the car to escape the driver, but the Secret Service threw her back in. Most of the 22 people close enough to see what actually happened were killed, as was Cooper for whistleblowing. The Lessins review the pattern of problems pushed as false flag events--Pearl Harbor, 911, WMD in Iraq, etc. The hosts and guests urge vets who've served in these manufactured wars, wars manufactured to keep us divided and exploited, have seen firsthand to come forth with what they witnessed from our wars. The Lessins show how the technology of free energy, extreme longevity, and enhanced immune abilities have been present since the Homo Sapiens from the planet Nibiru adapted their genome to Earth, adding a few Neanderthal genes, copper and clay to make us as disposable workers, and how they developed monetary systems to perpetuate the debt slavery that exists today. Guest and hosts warned that Obamacare, far from being a free health gift, is but a hidden tax, payable by the month or taken by the taxman at the year's end from those who didn't buy insurance. Are you ready to revolt against this revolting system? Listen to Renegade Radio and learn more.
