This interview was recorded in May 2023, now it's going live in August 2023. It was not my plan to release this amazing conversation almost 3 months after it was recordedCristal is a podcaster, mama to be, an event host, a soul mentor and breathwork teacher AKA a POWERHOUSE! I had the honor to met Cristal in person back in April at the Next Level You Event in Columbus, OH and she was, she is just as sweet and real as she seems on social media! We talk about what effect her annual self love event, Galentine's, has on funneling the rest of her business; a membership, a retreat and a mastermind. We discuss the details of her online membership community, the Soul Collective. We dive into her journey of becoming a mother and her "plans" for how to navigate life after her baby is here. Also the biblical story that Cristal shares at the end of our converstation... it will leave you with goosebumps! Some of my favorite quote takeaways were:"Where you are in the world is where this project [this business, this event] is needed the most" - Cristal"What I admire so much about the world we live in is that there is seasons and that the world has the AUDACITY to change seasons, so what makes you think that you don't get to change seasons and be beautiful in all of them too? - Cristal"One of the comments that really triggers me right now is 'You build your business how you did because you didn't have kids.' < Cristal's response to this is SO SO good, I'm gonna make you tune in to hear it!Follow Cristal on InstagramFollow Cristal's podcast and community on InstagramListen to the podcast on Apple  She is Made for MoreListen to the podcast on SpotifyLove what you heard? Do you struggle to take care of yourself?Do you find difficulty creating boundaries?Do you know in your gut that there is something more for you IN ADDITION to being a mom?Bringing women together who have these same thoughts and feelings are what drove Emily Jacobs to begin her community Empowered Moms. Emily Jacobs is a wife, mother, author, speaker, and doctorate-prepared leadership coach who is on a mission to up-level motherhood, leadership, and life! She created Empowered Moms which is a place where we raise the bars for mothers who know they are worthy of more to overcome fear and guilt, pursue big dreams and live a life they love beyond motherhood. Her book, Live Your Life for You (Not Your Mom) was on her heart to write for 7 years before it came to life shortly after her own mother passed away, and Emily makes a profound point that this is not a mom bashing book - this is a book for the daughters. This is a book built upon her story of overcoming perfectionist tendencies and stepping into the boundaries of what it looked like to life a life for herself, not just her mother.  If you want more information on the membership community Emily is building more moms (of which I am a part of!) you can connect with her via email at emily@dremilyjacobs.com or check her link in bio or DMs on her InstagramLove what you heard? One of the keynote speakers at the event is one of the greatest motivational speakers of our time and is a personal MAJOR inspiration to my life, Trent Shelton. For those who aren't familiar Trent was released from the NFL and then found his path through the creation of an organization called Rehab Time. Some of my favorite takeaways from Trent were:Stop bringing your vision to people who aren't visionaries. Sometimes when your circle get's smaller your vision will get clearer. - Trent SheltonOur surprise speaker at the event was the one + only Jamie Kern Lima. For those who aren't familiar Jamie sold IT cosmetics, her problem-solving make-up line of 300 products, to L'Oreal for $1.2 billion in cash in 2016. At that time she stayed on as CEO and later she stepped down from day-to-day operations in 2019. Some of my favorite takeaways from Jamie were:Your gut is more powerful than anyone else's opinions. Let your knowing be more powerful than the NO. One additional quote, takeaway that's mentioned in the episode by enneagram expert Tracy O'MalleyCreate that moment when the black sheet becomes the GOAT. Even though I'm still a baby entrepreneur, I'm still learning so much in real time that I know you'll benefit from as much as me. So, in this episode, I share some things that I've been reflecting on a lot lately, which is that as a mother AND an entrepreneur, the to-do list is NEVER-ENDING. There's always something to add or play catch-up on, which can be super frustrating. But… I've recently realized that focusing on how “bad” it is that I have a never-ending to do list in life & entrepreneurship isn't serving me. Instead, when I accept that that not everything gets done AND that it's normal to not complete everything all the time as a mom & entrepreneur, I felt so much more empowered & I think you will too. ***Connect with me on Instragram. Today's interview is EPIC because it's so juicy and it's also really special to me as an entrepreneur.  A few months ago, I signed up for a free experience with Jess Glazer DeRose— a prior celebrity trainer & elementary school teacher who turned her side hustle into a multi-million dollar business in under two years— so that I could soak up all of her wisdom, knowledge, and experience with growing & scaling online businesses. At the end of the free experience, I knew I had to invest in Jess's program, E+mpower, because she had the mindset & tools I needed to grow Confetti Worthy Media's group coaching programs.  I promise, opting into a weekly payment plan to pay for this was tough, but 100% worth it! Jess is the real deal. In this episode, we chat about so many topics that are applicable to women in business, such as the misperception of overnight success, a season of grinding to make things happen, fulfillment, leaning into discomfort, investing in yourself, being resourceful, our egos, money mindset, and so much MORE! ********** Connect with Jess:IG @iamjessicaderoseIG @ThedigitalbusinessevolutionWebsite: Jessglazer.comCoaching Superpower Quiz: jessglazer.com/quizCome hang out with me on Instagram to learn all things business building, check out behind the scenes of this podcast and my business and most importantly to empower other entrepreneurial womenWays you can help the podcast growSHARE! 10 Action Steps to Start a Business RIGHT NOW!

This is the year that your business idea stops being an idea and it comes to life! I have wanted to be my own boss and own my own business for a few years now but I never really took the steps, nor did I KNOW WHAT STEPS TO TAKE to make myself and my business legit. But now I know and therefore, I am sharing that info with you. I think the biggest piece of advice I can offer you is that you don't need to be making money in your business before you start to tackle these steps, most start-ups don't make money straight out the gates, so don't let the fear of not being profitable hold you back from making yourself official. 1. Determine a name for your business. The name of your business can be your actual name. Listen to the episode for when and how this can work best (certain industries such as photography and coaching are great to use your name)If the name of you business isn't self explanatory than make sure you have a strong, self-explanatory tagline. i.e. Apple doesn't sell fruit they sell digital products2. Search Google, website domains and social media channels to ensure that your business name is available3. Determine what type of busines entity your company will be? an LLC, a C corporation or an S corporation - and register your business with your state. In the state of Ohio > Submit a business filing4. Obtain your EIN, this is FREE after you have done step #3this is your identification number with the IRS5. Connect with an online or small business attorney (NOT HIRE, just connect) follow 1 or 2 of them on Instagram for FREE content or start listening to a podcast that discusses these topics. Online Business Attorney on Instagram who I have learned a lot from6. Investigate Business Insurance - you may or may not need to get this right away. This could possibly wait until you start actually offering your services or making money but research it ASAP that way you can prepare and plan financially for it. 7. Haley Brown-Woods lives in Northern California. She and her husband Justin have 2 dogs, an (almost) 6 month old daughter and a 2 year old daughter.  They have been married for 3  years. Haley is a former teacher, turned podcaster, turned financial coach. I met Haley back in the spring of 2020 as she and I both took the same podcasting course, She Goes Podcasting with Kacia Fitzgerald. Haley's podcast, which you can find linked below,  aims to normalize conversations around money for millennials. In our conversation we dive into her own personal debt journey, how she and her husband blew $600.000 in 2 years and then how they paid off that debt + some credit card debt in another 2 years time. We then dive into how her own financial fiasco lit a fire inside her to help others in similar situations through a podcast, co-hosted with her Husband, as well as her new Financial Coaching business. In the past 4 months Haley has taken on 21 clients, 1 of them being myself, and I must say I am a satisficed client! Haley discusses how she works her business around being a mom and not being a mom around her business. She also shares some of her favorite digital business tools and resources which are linked below.
