It's September which pretty much rounds up to Halloween, so we're starting spooky season and watching Clown in a Cornfield. How can we possibly get Gen Z and Millennials to join forces? By making them realize they have a common enemy, and that enemy is an evil boomer clown. It works on many levels really. Music: "Baby You Change Your Mind" by Nouvellas

This week, your favorite creeps dive headfirst into Clown in a Cornfield—a movie that dares to ask the age-old question: “What's scarier, a homicidal clown or small-town politics?” Spoiler alert: the answer is both.

Aside from the obvious visual DELIGHTS (warning: lots of breasts, penis, butt, and pregnancy talk/jokes), is this a return to prestige engrossing filmmaking from Howard or is “Eden” setting itself up to run afoul of potential multiple Razzie nominations (yes, at least one host thinks this is absolute dreck)? I am always hopeful when it comes to a new clown slasher film that hits the scene. After watching this movie, I have come to the realization that this movie offers a more traditional slasher style than Scream V or Bodies Bodies Bodies. This movie may be a modern tale of teens trying to escape a killer clown in a cornfield—but this clown-fueled carnage fest has a nostalgic and spunk spirit. What a great way to end the month of August! Talking to BJ Verot about his role as ‘Frendo' is invaluable. He went deep into details about the death sequences and stunts, explaining everything down to the wire. This is what I love hearing! Clown in a Cornfield is a satisfying movie to watch; with the impeccable acting, the death scenes, and the possible opening for a sequel, I cannot stress how much I love this movie. Making its way in my Top 10 Favorites, I do not regret seeing it and I highly recommend this movie if you are looking for something to watch. It's time for Art to move over because there is a new clown that's about to get down. What is there not to love about this violent, funny, and just plain cool slasher film? You're just going to have to see for yourselves – now streaming on Sling TV, The Roku Channel, Amazon Prime, AMC+, and many more services.
Small town America meets slasher mayhem in Clown in a Cornfield, Adam Cesare's brutal and bloody love letter to classic horror. When Quinn Maybrook moves to the quiet town of Kettle Springs, she discovers that beneath the cornfields and friendly smiles lies a community divided and a sinister clown mascot ready to paint the stalks red. This modern slasher blends old-school brutality with social commentary, delivering relentless kills, a masked villain for the ages, and enough carnage to satisfy any gorehound. If you're a fan of Halloween or Scream, this is one you won't want to miss.

With delightfully absurd gore and entertaining banter, Clown in a Cornfield, is a fun summertime slasher. It offers a pleasant, somewhat unexpected twist, some truly bizarre characters and as always beloved in the slasher genre, teen angst.
David Carroll, president & co-founder of CU Aerospace (UIUC B.S./M.S./Ph.D.), walked away from a top university post in 1998 to build a rocket company in the Illinois cornfields. A laser scientist by training, he didn't stay in theory—he shipped: electric CubeSat engines, plasma systems, high-energy lasers, and even a genetic-algorithm tool that jumped from lab code to a cancer operating room. This conversation is a builder's tour of how space actually gets made—and what's at stake now. We trace the arc from lasers to flight hardware, from test-to-failure scrappiness to NASA-level safety, and from a small Midwestern shop to engines headed for orbit. Along the way: why smallsats matter more than slogans, the case for high-power electric propulsion (magnetoplasmadynamic, or MPD, thrusters), and how China's Moon timeline and SpaceX/Starlink's launch cadence are quietly setting the rules of the game.If you're choosing what to study, where to live, or which problems to bet your twenties on, this is a field guide: build outside the coasts, turn bullets into cannonballs, ship before you polish, and keep going when the first three proposals get rejected. When Hee Haw first debuted in 1969 many saw it as a cornpone knockoff of Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In and while the show did indeed trade in cornpone comedy it also carved out it's own niche, running in syndication until 1993. Hosted by country music Hall of Famers Buck Owens and Roy Clark, the show mixed regular features with bits involving special guests -- usually another top country musician. For much of urban America Hee Haw served as a gateway to country music and the show retains a devoted following through DVD releases and streaming. As always, find extra cuts below and thanks for sharing our shows! Want more Hee Haw? Hosts Buck Owens and Roy Clark were spotlighted in Pickin' and Grinnin' which saw groaner jokes alternate with blazing guitar and banjo licks. https://youtu.be/2m7FifTu39I?si=mBcHZrEqinUtV4K6 Hee Haw drew the best in country comedy -- and in this case the country is Canada. Don Harron reprised his popular Charlie Farquharson character from Canadian television -- bringing you all the updates from Radio KORN.https://youtu.be/8XiOJQIEDC4?si=0TCNIjXDAQkNy0f5 One of Hee Haw's recurring bits was The Cornfield -- an homage to Laugh-In's Joke Wall. If you're a fan of genre, there was no better place to be at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 than in Ballroom 20 on Thursday night for the Collider Ladies Night After Dark panel. Ladies Night joined forces with the IFC Entertainment Group to celebrate two titles gearing up for their Shudder debut, and to unveil first looks at three upcoming theatrical releases. Even better? It all happened with five big-screen powerhouses - Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Alexandra Shipp, Katie Douglas and Hassie Harrison. In true Collider Ladies Night fashion, the group began by pinpointing pivotal early career experiences that helped pave the way to their latest projects. After that, Douglas and Harrison revisited their time on the Clown in a Cornfield and Dangerous Animals sets, respectively, and then Keen, Nélisse and Shipp debuted the very first footage for their upcoming films. For Keen and Nélisse, that meant celebrating the world premiere of the teaser trailer for their new horror film, Whistle. Directed by Corin Hardy, Whistle puts the focus on a group of friends who happen upon an ancient Aztec death whistle. When someone blows the whistle or hears its sound, the countdown begins. Their future deaths start coming for them. From there, Shipp put the spotlight on Violent Ends, a revenge thriller that poses the question, “If you lost the most dear thing to you, what the fuck would you do to the people who took it from you?” Collider Ladies Night After Dark had the privilege of showing off one of Shipp's most breathtaking moments in the movie before turning towards another upcoming release, Forbidden Fruits. In that one, Shipp stars opposite Lili Reinhardt, Victoria Pedretti and Lola Tung as a group of women who “work at a Free People-esque mall shop,” and also practice witchcraft. Hosted on Acast. In this episode, we sit down with Ryan Bare, the visionary behind Century Farms Distillery—a craft distillery rooted in agricultural tradition and dedicated to producing premium farm-to-bottle spirits. Growing up on his family's Iowa farm, Ryan learned early the value of hard work, precision, and pride in the land. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University, Ryan spent over 15 years refining oil and producing ethanol before circling back to his agricultural roots with a bold idea: start a distillery that pays tribute to the very ground he grew up on.Founded in 2017, Century Farms Distillery celebrates the legacy of Iowa's multigenerational farms. Ryan walks us through the journey—from navigating complicated distilling regulations to sourcing high-quality local grains that deliver standout flavors in every batch. We discuss the differences between producing energy and crafting spirits, how farm practices directly influence taste, and what it means to distill with purpose and pride.Ryan also shares insights on branding, connecting with consumers through storytelling, and expanding the distillery's reach beyond Iowa. Whether it's whiskey, bourbon, or celebrating agricultural heritage, Ryan's mission is clear: honor the past while innovating for the future. Want Farm4Profit Merch? Spookies, would you rather A) face off against a single clown in a cornfield B) take on one corn in a whole field of clowns or C) talk about Ginny and Georgia when you're supposed to be recording a horror movie podcast? On our latest episode, we're exploring all three of those options as we cover Katie Douglas in Clown in a Cornfield (2025). Based on a series of books from Adam Cesare, this flick is giving summer slasher in the best way, and we're breaking down the tropes, familiar faces, and possible sequels on a new Spooky Tuesday. A Kentucky man spots a terrifying “Glimmer Man” near a lake rumored to hide a monster. In rural Illinois, a childhood game is interrupted by a grotesque, clawed creature that vanishes into thin air. And in Poland, a man sees a headless, metallic humanoid lounging in a former mass grave site. Something unnatural lurking just out of sight. Synopsis A teenage girl named Quinn and her father relocate to Kettle Springs, Missouri for a fresh start after Quinn's mom dies. Quinn quickly falls in with the ‘wrong crowd' as a potential serial killer clown targets her and her new friends. Review At first I liked this movie. I was in for the goofy ride, I wanted to play into the corniness (pun intended) and enjoy it, but it very quickly became redundant, vapid, and unfunny. The kills are okay, the premise is whatever, but the jokes miss the mark almost every single time. The acting is good and all of the teenagers are very convincing as gen alpha, but the script severely lacks. I wanted this to be a lot more fun than it actually was. It's not to say that I didn't particularly enjoy it, I just got bored at one point and I couldn't shake the boredom for the rest of the runtime. There is a joke that one of the characters makes about being “stuck in a stupid 80s slasher” and that was just plain offensive, because every 80s slasher I've seen is better than this one. It's not the worst movie ever made, but it's really nothing special. Shoutout to Kevin Durand though, love to see him pop up in a horror movie. To sum my feelings about this film up in a sentence, this felt like Scooby Doo if it was bad and also rated R. Score 4/10
