From the farm to the executive office of the 100 Club of Arizona, Angela Herrolle has made service the cornerstone of her life. A desire to travel and explore the world, led her on a journey away from the family farm in Minnesota and down a path that introduced excitement, family, tragedy, grief and love. This journey has woven her life into the tapestry of Public Safety family in Arizona and landed her in the office of the 100 Club of Arizona – whose purpose is to support the families of the men and women standing behind the badge. In episode 66 we discussed this journey, and much more, give it a listen and enjoy. A little about our guest… I was raised in rural Minnesota and I strived to see the world. This vision led me to Arizona State University where I obtained my B.S. in Justice Studies and Business in 1997. I was then able to obtain a position with the U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service as a Special Agent where I completed domestic and international investigations related to visa and passport fraud. During this time I was also assigned to the United States Secretary of State's executive protection detail where I traveled to 34+ countries and later became the Asst. Regional Security Officer for the U.S. Embassies in Chile, Haiti and Mexico. I came to be the CEO of The 100 Club of Arizona in an unconventional way. After meeting my husband, Bruce Harrolle and having a child I resigned from my position as a Special Agent and moved into a position as a contract Special Investigator to provide more stability for our growing family. Bruce worked as a police officer and paramedic for the Arizona Department of Public Safety while I opened FedRealty, a real estate brokerage that focuses on the residential relocation of government employees. Life took an unexpected turn in October 2008 when my husband and father to my two young children was killed in the line of duty. I then worked closely alongside the Arizona Department of Public Safety on “Harrolle's Law”, this law provides surviving families with lifetime health insurance benefits following a line of duty death. I later became the CEO of The 100 Club of Arizona, a non-profit organization that provides statewide assistance for public safety agencies, officers, firefighters, EMT/Paramedics and their families. As a 501(c)(3), the 100 Club of Arizona is dedicated to standing behind the men and women who stand behind the badge. For Gary Revel this started with his song Mother Nature and later his founding of Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. He co-wrote the song with his younger brother, Cecil Ray Fillingame Jr., in the early 1970s and recorded the song in Nashville, Tennessee in the mid-1970s. He formed the independent record label ‘Frame House Records' and in 1977 released the single record. 3 years ago, Gary started working on the founding of Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. with the theme and mission of stopping Global Warming. During a benefit concert in Oswego, New York he spoke with George Broadwell and Richard Faith about joining him as board members. They agreed: other board members, Jeff Olm, Patrick Wood, and David A. Dunn joined, and Patti McCune offered to direct fund raising for the 501 (c) 3, nonprofit corporation. Board Member Richard Faith is serving as Executive Director for the time being. He is also the author of the Old Doc Turtle book series and the Megamerse book series. His book Bee Scared tells a story about Bees disappearing, which is of concern to all of us who are care about Mother Nature and concern ourselves with Global Warming. In late 2019 plans were being set for launching at Central Park, NYC with talks proceeding to have Jon Bon Jovi, Jane Fonda, Al Gore, Jane Fonda, and Al Roker participating. Then the pandemic hit hard. with millions getting the Coronavirus here in the United States and around the world. This put an end or at least a pause in the planning. Now, things are starting to open up again and the development of the plans are starting again. Talks are continuing, with tentative scheduling of a Mother Nature Festival Live Inc. festival and conference, to be held at the home offices in Oswego, NY, this fall. Speakers and entertainers are being sought as conference space and venues are opening up. The Great American Robber Barons have already offered to perform during the festival as talks with representatives of Jon Bon Jovi, Al Gore, Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Al Roker continue. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Tom attended Philadelphia public schools where he was competitive in three sports. He attended Temple University on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration. After a stint in the Air Force where he possessed a TOP SECRET/CRYPTO clearance, Tom became interested in anthropology and human evolution and received a Masters Degree in Anthropology from California State University, Sacramento. Tom then received a fellowship to pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology at the University of Toronto. Tom became interested in UFO's while in high school and rekindled that interest when he became the MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) State Section Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania (1986-2002). In that capacity, Tom investigated local UFO sightings in the Delaware Valley which encompasses the five-county area surrounding Philadelphia. Since 1991, Tom's research has focused solely on the so-called "Roswell Incident" and the alleged retrieval/cover-up by the U.S. Government of an alien spaceship and crew that crashed near the town of Roswell, New Mexico in July, 1947. In this research, Tom has worked closely with Roswell investigators, Kevin Randle [until 1996] and Don Schmitt (since 1998). Tom was a Special Investigator for CUFOS (the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies) from 1992-1997 and served on its Board of Directors from 1997-2001 Tom's research has contributed to a number of books and articles on the Roswell Incident such as The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell (1994) by Kevin D. Randle and Donald R. Schmitt and will ultimately yield additional books and articles on the subject. Additionally, Tom has appeared as a guest on many radio and television shows concerning the Roswell Incident as well as appearing in Roswell documentaries. He has lectured all over the country regarding the subject as well. His portrait appears in the Hall of Fame at the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, NM for his continuing contributions to our understanding of the Roswell events of 1947. With Don Schmitt, Tom was the investigative consultant for the highly acclaimed and top-rated 2002 Sci Fi Channel documentary, The Roswell Crash: Startling New Evidence. Douglas Guilfoyle gives a talk as part of the Oxford Transitional Justice Research (OTJR) Seminar Series. Following persistent rumours of criminal misconduct by some Australian Special Forces personnel in Afghanistan, an administrative inquiry was launched in 2016 by the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force. That inquiry's report revealed shocking evidence of 23 incidents involving 25 Australian personnel and resulting in 39 killings of persons hors de combat or under Australian control, as well as other misconduct. The inquiry recommended these incidents be prosecuted before ordinary civilian courts under Australia's war crimes legislation, which largely mirrors provisions of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. A new investigative mechanism, the Office of the Special Investigator, has been established to this end. However, the report also suggested that military leaders above the patrol commander level bore only moral or professional responsibility and there should be no prosecutions based on command responsibility. These developments raise questions about the scope of command responsibility under international and Australian law, and the relationship between national investigative mechanisms and the International Criminal Court. Douglas Guilfoyle is Associate Professor of International and Security Law at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of New South Wales Canberra. His principal areas of research are maritime security, the international law of the sea, and international and transnational criminal law. He was previously a Professor of Law at Monash University, Reader in Law at University College London, and has acted as a consultant to various governments and international organisations. In 2019-2020 he was a Visiting Legal Fellow at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He is a regular contributor to the blog EJILTalk!

Tom Carey investigates Roswell and he probably does it better than almost anyone. He has authored and coauthored more than 30 published articles and a small library on the subject. Tom has appeared on Larry King Live, Coast to-Coast AM With George Noory, and just about everywhere else. Tonight I have Tom in the studio and we are going to talk about…. Roswell… That and more coming right up on my alien life… Born and raised in Philadelphia, Tom attended Philadelphia public schools where he was competitive in three sports. He attended Temple University on an athletic scholarship and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration. After a stint in the Air Force where he possessed a TOP SECRET/CRYPTO clearance, Tom became interested in anthropology and human evolution and received a Masters Degree in Anthropology from California State University, Sacramento. Tom then received a fellowship to pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology at the University of Toronto. Tom became interested in UFO’s while in high school and rekindled that interest when he became the MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) State Section Director for Southeastern Pennsylvania (1986-2002). In that capacity, Tom investigated local UFO sightings in the Delaware Valley which encompasses the five-county area surrounding Philadelphia. Since 1991, Tom’s research has focused solely on the so-called “Roswell Incident” and the alleged retrieval/cover-up by the U.S. Government of an alien spaceship and crew that crashed near the town of Roswell, New Mexico in July, 1947. In this research, Tom has worked closely with Roswell investigators, Kevin Randle [until 1996] and Don Schmitt (since 1998). Tom was a Special Investigator for CUFOS (the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies) from 1992-1997 and served on its Board of Directors from 1997-2001. Tom’s research has contributed to a number of books and articles on the Roswell Incident such as The Truth About the UFO Crash at Roswell (1994) by Kevin D. Randle and Donald R. Schmitt and will ultimately yield additional books and articles on the subject. Additionally, Tom has appeared as a guest on many radio and television shows concerning the Roswell Incident as well as appearing in Roswell documentaries. He has lectured all over the country regarding the subject as well. His portrait appears in the Hall of Fame at the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, NM for his continuing contributions to our understanding of the Roswell events of 1947. With Don Schmitt, Tom was the investigative consultant for the highly acclaimed and top-rated 2002 Sci Fi Channel documentary, The Roswell Crash: Startling New Evidence. Most recently, Tom has appeard on Larry King Live (2003), CN8 Weekend Live (2004), The FOX NEWS CHANNEL (2004), Coast-to-Coast AM with George Noory (2004) and theJeff Rense Show (2004). Tom’s other interests include playing ice hockey in the winter time, writing incisive letters-to-the-editor about sports, politics and society in general, listening to and collecting “oldies” records (he has the best collection around) and making home improvements.
