Selon les prévisions du GIEC, sans action sur le climat, les Suisses ne pourront plus faire de ski en 2100. Dans ces conditions, est-il raisonnable de continuer à investir dans un sport voué à terme à disparaître? Ou, au contraire, faut-il abandonner le ski au nom de l'écologie ? Le 77e Tour de Romandie a vécu son étape de montagne ce samedi 27 avril 2024 à Leysin. L'arrivée finale sera jugée demain à Vernier. Le premier bilan du directeur du Tour de Romandie, Richard Chassot.

Annie Emerson said to me 'I think you should message Brett Sutton. She pushed me in the right direction and I messaged Brett the following week and he told me to come in four weeks to Leysin. That was the beginning of a new chapter to be honest. 18:40 Did Brett Sutton set them up? 19:30 A really good insight into how professional triathlon has changed. 'It was kind of a temporary thing before you got a real career, but now the earning potential from sponsorships is so different. When I first started it was like a hobby, then it became something that you can make a living from, but now there is more pressure and it's almost like a job now rather than an adventure. It's great to see that it is fully professional. 22:30 "For me, the chapters don't really evolve around money. There was never any real thought of becoming rich from the sport." says Jodie. 24:00 "As long as we have enough to live, we just don't care about money," says James. It doesnt really bother me. I got more satisfaction from a career in sport than I ever would have thought, says Jodie. I think with more money comes more pressure, but I think there is a different level of reward. 26:30 How Jodie feels like she missed a swansong race. "Yes definitely because I didn't retire after having Jack because I thought I was going to come back after racing. I played with it for a little bit, but then we decided to have another child after that. But then it wasn't viable after that because we had twins and James had a professional triathlon career," says Jodie. I don't miss being a pro, but I do miss racing, says James. "I almost feel like I didn't enjoy it enough when I was doing it." 34:00 'I definitely thought I was going to race again,' says Jodie. But something changed after I had Jack and I just wasn't the priority any more and neither was my triathlon career.' Every minute that I was out there training, I was taking time away from my family and then it becomes a constant negotiation with yourself. And then it really becomes work and a chore all of the time and you lose some of the love for it. How can you justify spending 10 days away from your wife with no guaranteed pay cheque at the end. 38:30 I found it really hard because I thought 'why can't we make it work' when you look at someone like nicola Spirig who we are really good friends with. But our priorities changed and we couldn't justify spending time away from the kids for the sake of performance or money which means high performance triathlon is not an option. And that was a hard pill to swallow. 41:00 Jodie gives some thoughts about finding balance with family and training for age group athletes. 'My whole philosophy is that sport should enhance your life and if it is causing injury to your life, then you shouldn't be doing it.' Leysin fait sa part pour la mise sur pied d’une STEP régionale

Le sport amateur reprend gentiment. Si les adultes sont toujours privés de compétition, les jeunes, eux, peuvent à nouveau se mesurer les uns aux autres. Les organisateurs du Giant-X-Tour ont ainsi pu mettre sur pied deux étapes en ce mois de mars. La première ce week-end à Grimentz et la deuxième fin mars à Leysin. Cʹest moins que dʹhabitude mais mieux que rien pour toutes les amatrices et tous les amateurs de ski et de snowboard freestyle.

Matthieu Fournier vous retrouve au sommet de la Berra dans le canton de Fribourg pour les deux portraits du jour : Yves Barroud, fromager à Leysin a repris la ferme familiale. Eine Komponistin und eine Geigerin, Helena Winkelman und Patricia Kopatchinskaja proben die Uraufführung «Gemini». Ein Bruder gibt durch sein Sterben der Schwester ihre kreative Kraft zurück im Film «Schwesterlein». Die Band «Ton Scheibe Scherben» überprüft zum 50-Jahr-Jubiläum ihre Rolle damals. Sie ist Komponistin und Geigerin zugleich: Helena Winkelman, zurzeit «Artist in Residence» beim Sinfonieorchester Basel. In dieser Funktion hat sie ihr Werk komponiert, das Konzert für zwei Violinen und Orchester. Weil der eine Solist kurzfristig ausfällt, springt Winkelmann gleich selber als Ersatz ein. Die zweite Solistin ist der Geigenstar Patricia Kopatchinskaja. Was passiert, wenn diese beiden sehr eigenwilligen Musikerinnen zusammen üben? Ein Probenbesuch. Die Westschweizer Filmemacherinnen Véronique Reymond und Stéphanie Chuat haben es mit ihrem zweiten Spielfilm direkt in den Wettbewerb der Berlinale geschafft. Und das lag nicht nur daran, dass die Berliner Film- und Schaubühnenstars Lars Eidinger und Nina Hoss in «Schwesterlein» die Hauptrollen spielen. Als Zwillingsschwester kämpft Lisa gegen das Sterben ihres Zwillingsbruders, und damit um die eigene Existenz, in Berlin und in Leysin in der Schweiz. Über ihre jüngste Arbeit geben die beiden Filmemacherinnen Auskunft. Die 1970er Jahre in West-Berlin sind geprägt von Hausbesetzungen, das Leben in Kommunen und Strassenkämpfen. Mittendrin formiert sich «Ton Steine Scherben». Die Band mischt mit politischem Rock und rebellischen Texten die deutsche Musikszene auf und repräsentiert das rebellische und utopische Lebensgefühl der Jugend, die den Aufstand probt. Heute sehen sich in Deutschland viele Bands als Erben der «Ton Steine Scherben» – Schlagersängerinnen wie Allerweltsrocker, Linksradikale wie Neonazis. Wolfgang Seidel, Gründungsmitglied und erster Schlagzeuger der Scherben, will zum 50-Jahre-Jubiläum die Legendenbildung um die Band korrigieren. Au cours des années 60, le tourisme hivernal vit une mutation et s’ouvre aux classes moyennes. Dans notre pays, cet essor des sports de neige constitue une manne bienvenue pour les petites stations de ski comme Leysin et fait naître de véritables villes à la montagne à l’image de Crans-Montana. Les paysans y trouvent également une nouvelle activité saisonnière.
