In the concluding message of “The Seers,” Pastor Hunter Ramsey turns to the book of Nehemiah to show how spiritual vision becomes reality through collective obedience and investment. Nehemiah carried the vision from God, but it was the people who strengthened their hands for the work and rebuilt the walls together. This message highlights how inspired people move from apathy into action when they clearly see both the need and God's hand at work. Through Nehemiah's leadership, discouraged people became builders, and scattered individuals became a unified body with purpose. The sermon challenges listeners to evaluate whether they are truly invested in what God is doing—not merely attending church, but helping build something eternal that will impact future generations. From serving faithfully to giving sacrificially, every contribution matters in the kingdom of God. Drawing attention to both those who refused to serve and those who worked despite limitations, Pastor Hunter reminds us that every person is important to God's work and accountable for what they do with the opportunities they've been given. Ultimately, this message is a call to become fully engaged in the vision of God—to see beyond ourselves, to invest in people, and to join the work of helping others move from blindness into spiritual sight.
Darold Brown — known to the world as Ferg — grew up watching his father build a business, a brand, and a community from the basements of Harlem. In this episode, musician, and all around artist, Ferg reflects on his upbringing in Harlem, the deep influence of his late father's entrepreneurial spirit, and the world-building ambition that now drives everything he does. From learning to paint on T-shirts in his father's silk-screen operation to navigating the leap from fashion dreams to rap stardom, Ferg traces the through-line of community, creativity, and culture that has always defined him.But this isn't just a conversation about music.Instead, Ferg draws connections between Harlem's competitive spirit and his own creative drive, between the pre-internet era of being outside and the community-centered art practice he is building today — one rooted in the belief that art is, above all, a tool for bringing people together. In this episode Ferg shares:His upbringing as an only child in Harlem and the neighborhood's deeply competitive, flamboyant cultureHis father's legacy — from silk-screening T-shirts in basements to running Ferg Apparel on 145th Street — and the lessons he carries from working alongside himAttending Art and Design High School and the community of creatives it introduced him toThe unexpected leap from aspiring fashion designer to rapper, and learning to trust the flow without having all the answersHis current world-building vision — curating spaces, taste, and community the way the great creative directors and brand architects doArtists he's studying right now, including Ernie Barnes, Kara Walker, Francis Bacon, and BasquiatAnd why, after years of global travel, he's planting himself in New York this summer — because home is where it's atAt its core, this conversation is about legacy — what we inherit, what we build, and how the communities that shape us never really leave us, no matter how far we go.Connect with Folasade aka 'Sade' Ologundudu: Subscribe to the Light Work newsletter Visit Sade's websiteVisit the Light Work websiteFollow Sade on Instagram Follow Light Work on InstagramWatch the episodes on YouTubeReview us on Apple Podcasts---------------------------------Follow & Subscribe Subscribe on SubstackFollow Light Work on Instagram Follow Folasade Ologundudu on InstagramYouTube - Subscribe to the Light Work YouTube Channel

Send us Fan MailEpisode SummaryTraining isn't a checkbox—it's your foundation. In this episode, we break down why tactical training is critical not just for performance in the field, but for legal accountability after the fact. Using key case law, including Graham v. Connor, City of Canton v. Harris, Popow v. City of Margate, and Zuchel v. City and County of Denver, we highlight how training—or the lack of it—has directly impacted outcomes for officers and agencies. We also take a hard look at the environments officers actually work in and why infrequent, “check-the-box” training isn't enough to prepare for real-world encounters.Low-light operations are used as a case study to expose one of the most common training gaps across agencies. We break down the fundamentals of lumens vs. candela, beam pattern, and throw—along with practical considerations for handheld, pistol-mounted, and rifle-mounted lights. If you're serious about performance, officer safety, and reducing liability, this episode is a must-listen.Gear MentionedWe discussed weapon lights and the importance of selecting the right tool for your environment and mission.
Manyaku Mashilo began as a drawer—using pencil to mimic texture, memory, and feeling—long before painting became her primary language. In this episode, visual artist Manyaku Mashilo reflects on her evolution from fashion design into a multidisciplinary practice rooted in painting, mark-making, and storytelling. Her work moves through texture, memory, and color—building intimate, emotional worlds that center Black womanhood, spirituality, and ancestral lineage. But this isn't just a conversation about artistic process.Instead, Manyaku traces the deeper currents beneath her work: memory as a tool for survival, art as a spiritual practice, and the lifelong search for belonging—both within herself and in the communities she builds through her work.In this episode Manyaku shares:Her beginnings in fashion design and how drawing became the foundation of her practiceThe importance of texture as memory, emotion, and cultural markerHer work as a tattoo artist and how mark-making extends onto the bodyThe influence of her grandmothers—one a farmer, the other a spiritual healer—on her practiceArt as a form of ancestral remembrance and spiritual groundingNavigating identity, suppression, and belonging growing up between rural and urban South AfricaBuilding new forms of community through art, including queer Black creative networksAt its core, this conversation is about returning—returning to memory, to lineage, to the textures that hold us. Through Manyaku's reflections, we see how art becomes more than image-making; it becomes a site of healing, a language for the unsaid, and a way to rebuild belonging in a world that often asks us to forget. If you liked the episode, subscribe to our Substack for more highlights and insights about this episode and Mayaku's practice. Demetrius Wilson describes painting as a living exchange—where the canvas responds, shifts, and ultimately becomes something greater than he first imagined. In this episode, abstract painter Demetrius Wilson reflects on his second solo exhibition at Half Gallery and the evolution of a practice rooted in intuition, movement, and material dialogue. Working at the intersection of environment, memory, and abstraction, Wilson explores how color, scale, and gesture can evoke both personal and collective experience. But this conversation goes beyond painting. Here, Demetrius considers what it means to create in a rapidly changing world—tracing how a 1990s upbringing, spiritual inquiry, and a desire to expand visual language all shape his approach to art-making and meaning. In this episode Demetrius shares:His recent exhibition Light in a Dark Mirror and why it represents his strongest body of work to dateThe idea of painting as a “symbiotic” process—where the work responds and evolves in real timeGrowing up on the East Coast in the 1990s and how that era shapes his perspective and processHis approach to color—using heat, temperature, and contrast to evoke emotional intensityHis relationship to spirituality and how religious ideas subtly surface in his recent workKey artistic influences including Ed Clark, Jack Whitten, Mark Bradford, Cecily Brown, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. How scale shifts perception, from expansive canvases to intimate works on paperAt its core, this conversation is about movement—between control and release, past and present, clarity and ambiguity. Through Demetrius Wilson's reflections, painting emerges as both a physical act and a philosophical inquiry: a space where memory, environment, and emotion collide, and where abstraction becomes a language for navigating a world that is constantly in flux.Connect with Sade: Subscribe to the Light Work newsletter Visit Sade's websiteVisit the Light Work websiteFollow Sade on Instagram Follow Light Work on InstagramWatch the episodes on YouTubeReview us on Apple Podcasts---------------------------------Follow & Subscribe Subscribe on SubstackFollow Light Work on Instagram Follow Folasade Ologundudu on InstagramYouTube - Subscribe to the Light Work YouTube Channel
Sermon preached by Harry Fujiwara on Luke 22:47-53
Shawn Chester once ruled Las Vegas. Drop his name in the early 2000s and doors opened, problems disappeared, and the city bent to his will. That man is gone. Transformed. In his place stands one of the most powerful medicine workers I've ever encountered, a person I now call when the spiritual terrain gets heavy and the ceremonies get dark. This conversation traces the full arc of that transformation, from a raw encounter with the grandfather plant medicine teacher Don Howard (blessings to his name) to years of training deep in the jungle with indigenous Taitas who drink ayahuasca three to five times a week and carry a joy that nothing can shake.Shawn shares the philosophy at the center of his work: that the heart, not the mind, is the true power source. That the mind works for the heart, not the other way around. And that most of us are trying to fix ourselves in the wrong place entirely. We go deep on how to actually conduct yourself inside a ceremony (and why screaming your way through a purge might be doing the opposite of what you think), what the grandfathers in the mountains are sensing about the spiritual state of the Western world right now, and why the rising visibility of dark symbolism in pop culture is actually a sign that the light is getting stronger. We also talk about fatherhood, fear, the building and losing of spiritual power (what the Hawaiians call mana), and why the single most important thing any of us can do right now is get serious about cleaning ourselves from the inside out.| Shawn Chester |►Website | https://thenativeguides.com/►Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/thenativeguides/This episode is sponsored by►Metal Mark Gold Aurum Collectable Art | https://mtlmrk.com/►Korrect Life | https://korrectlife.com/| Aubrey Marcus |►Website | https://www.aubreymarcus.com/►Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/aubreymarcus►Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/AubreyMarcus/►X | https://x.com/aubreymarcus►Substack: https://www.aubreymarcus.com/blogs/substack► Love To The Seventh Power: https://chakaruna.com/collections/booksSubscribe to the Aubrey Marcus podcast:►iTunes | https://apple.co/2lMZRCn ►Spotify | https://spoti.fi/2EaELZO ►IHeartRadio | https://ihr.fm/3CiV4x3 ►Partner with the Aubrey Marcus Podcast | https://www.aubreymarcus.com/pages/booking
Lyndon J. Barrois, Sr began creating art from discarded chewing gum wrappers when he was 10 years old. In this episode, award‑winning animator and visual‑effects artist Lyndon J. Barrois, Sr discusses his latest exhibition, his most ambitious project to date, the groundbreaking show - Futbol is Life: Animated Sportraits on view at the LACMA through mid July 2026. Iconic moments from both women's and men's soccer are staged as both spectacle and social record, pairing the “beautiful game” with the political and cultural forces it reflects. But this isn't just a conversation about his show at LACMA. Instead, Lyndon draws parallels between sports and politics, art and life, creative expression and mentorship, and the ways in which history, while sometimes hidden from view, is always present - if one knows where to look. In this episode Lyndon shares: His origins growing up in New Orleans How he began using discarded chewing gum wrappers to make art Studying at the HBCU, Xavier University of Louisiana then at Cal Arts His mentor, John Scott who encouraged him to see his work differently The buried histories and inequities in sports And how history can be found if one knows where to look At its core, this conversation considers the relationships and histories that are waiting to be unearthed through visual storytelling and sports as a conduit for cultural conversations. Reiki, Light Work, Elder Wisdom: Ifetayo White Heal Thyself… Heal the World. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and promoting healing that involves the transfer of “life force energy” through the practitioner's hands onto or near the client's body. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words: “Rei” meaning “God's Wisdom or the Higher Power” and “Ki” meaning “life force energy,” so Reiki translates to “spiritually guided life force energy.” During a session, a practitioner places their hands on or just above the recipient, aiming to balance energy flows, which is believed to help with physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Reiki is considered a simple, natural, and safe method of energy healing that is often used alongside other medical treatments for relaxation and wellbeing, though scientific evidence for its effectiveness is lacking. Dana Micucci redefines danger for the modern lightworker not as external threat, but as the peril of spiritual bypassing and succumbing to fear or lower collective consciousness. Unlike 20th-century internal work, the 21st-century task is active internal mastery to hold and anchor high-frequency light amidst global chaos and intense energy shifts. This internal mastery is crucial for external impact. The Lesson in Mastery: From Seeking to Embodying Truth The memoir, a sequel to Sojourns of the Soul, marks a pivotal shift: the 'lesson in mastery' is moving from seeking truth externally (via sacred travel) to embodying that truth internally. This profound shift is the foundation for applying spiritual wisdom to complex modern life, validating the current memoir as an essential guide for the lightworker journey. Ma'at: Ancient Egyptian Wisdom for the Digital Age Micucci shares the powerful ancient Egyptian principle of Ma'at (truth, balance, and cosmic order), encountered at the sacred temples of Egypt. This ancient wisdom is surprisingly practical for navigating modern issues like misinformation and polarizing technology. Ma'at serves as a vital spiritual compass for filtering digital input by aligning words, thoughts, and actions with truth and balance. Essential Spiritual Tool: Conscious Breathwork For newcomers beginning their spiritual path, the single most essential spiritual tool is conscious, focused breathwork. This simple technique instantly interrupts the fearful, egoic mind, anchors the individual in the present, and connects them to their innate power and grace. The breath is highlighted as the most accessible bridge between mind, body, and spirit. Planetary Transformation: The Challenge and The Opportunity The current period of intense planetary transformation presents two key facets from a lightworker's view: Greatest Challenge: The temptation to disconnect or fall into despair amidst global crises. Greatest Opportunity: The unprecedented acceleration of soul evolution. The current evolutionary waves force humanity to confront shadows, offering a unique chance to rapidly ascend into higher consciousness and co-create the New Earth. Trusting the Higher Guiding Force Micucci shares how a personal test or transformation—a period of loss and uncertainty—revealed that apparent "breakdown" was the higher guiding force clearing old foundations. By embracing deep surrender, she recognized the timely appearance of support as confirmation that this force was conspiring on her behalf. The Final Action Step: Radical Self-Compassion The final, practical action step Micucci hopes readers take after finishing The Years of Living Dangerously is to practice radical self-forgiveness and self-compassion. Choosing to unconditionally love the self and silence the internal critic is deemed the most profound way to 'open their hearts to the evolutionary waves of change' and become a clear channel for light. Hello, and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I'm your host Jordan Youkilis, and today I'm joined by my friend Wayne Clodfelter. In this conversation, we discuss Wayne's exploration of consciousness & human potential. Wayne describes a July 2022 close encounter with extraterrestrials, and how that impacted the direction of his life. He describes the message from Sirius, from where his soul originated. We discuss Dr. Steven Greer's work on the ET phenomenon, and how that led Wayne to the study of Vedic science at Maharishi International. Wayne explains how Blink 182's Tom DeLonge inspired his interest in extraterrestrials. We consider concepts of pure consciousness and spontaneous right action.Next, we discuss the close encounters classification system, the challenges associated with spiritual awakening, and connecting with our Star Family. Wayne and I discuss our recent Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind experience in Fairfield, Iowa. From there, Wayne describes his experience of incarceration, being locked in with the same person who murdered his best friend, and of being released during COVID. Wayne then explains his recovery from heroin, overcoming adversity, and his connection to dog star Sirius. We then discuss Citizens for Disclosure and the coverup of the ET/UAP/UFO phenomenon by military and intelligence agencies. We consider the duality - the darkness and the light - of our present day. We discuss Vimanas, and the prevalence of flying craft in the Vedic literature. We conclude the discussion with ideas on how we can find ways to resolve conflict in the age of Enlightenment, without resulting to war. This Outro is titled “¡OM Mama, Vimanas!” Ending song, “Light Work” is by my friend Skitz the P.L.K., whose documentary, Calling All Hybrids, can be viewed on Prime Video. On this episode I'm joined by Kennedy Yanko as we discuss her recent artistic endeavors, working with paper pulp prints which are on view in her latest exhibition, Without Gravity, at Pace Prints now through Oct 4th. Kennedy shares the joy of returning to immediate, experimental creation, reminiscent of her earlier abstract expressionist paintings. She reflects on her 20-year journey as an artist, acknowledging the challenges and growth that have shaped her current practice. Kennedy and I have been in each other's orbit for several years watching each other grow and develop our respective practices. I had the pleasure of writing about her work for the Brooklyn Rail four years ago, so it's really a full circle moment and a moment to reflect on what's happened and how much growth we've both experienced since that time. In the episode we also talk about the importance of maintaining a spiritual practice and being open to the ebbs and flows of life's natural movements. In this episode of The Spiritual Investor Podcast, I'm joined by someone I deeply admire—Jessica Zweig. Jessica is a USA Today bestselling author, founder of the SimplyBe. agency, and one of the most powerful voices in the intersection of business, branding, and spirituality. We talk about what it really means to feel safe with money, how trauma shows up in our ability to receive, and why women must start charging—and holding—what they're truly worth. You'll hear why her latest book The Light Work is resonating so deeply, and why her work—like her Feminine Frequency Business School—is helping so many women rise.
