Jessica Green has a podcast with Cam Harless. They are “The Mad Ones”, an absurdist comedy duo talking about what happened in politics each week and other silly things. Each episode is sprinkled with “white pill” humor based on the fact that the government is exposing itself as a giant monster, which makes spreading truth and anarchy easier. Give them a listen live on Wednesday nights at 10 pm EST. Jessica herself can be found on Twitter as @soupcanarchist.   In this episode, Jessica joins us to talk about emergency preparedness. Jessica got into this realm herself in 2014 when she got trapped in her apartment by a freak snowstorm in Atlanta with basically no food. Since then, she has moved out to the country, started stocking canned food, gotten chickens, started a garden, and began learning how to live off the land so she will never have to depend on government assistance (which usually proves to be too little too late).    Are you ready for an unexpected event? Look at what happened in Texas, where it never snows. We don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. There are forces outside of our control that directly affect us daily (weather, financial markets, civil unrest, governmental decrees…). We need to learn survival skills and be ready to come together with our communities so we can get through whatever crisis may come. This episode is a good place to start; Jessica is here to teach us how to take small steps every week that lead to our survival.   Blog submissions: thebadroman.com/contribute-to-the-blog   Connect with us on social: thebadroman.com/social-links   Want to get more involved? Jessica Green is co-host of The Mad Ones podcast, known as an absurdist comedy duo and a show where all sorts of liberty-minded and unusual characters go to get interviewed. The other day Jessica sat down with Kurt to talk about a personal challenge that she faced with her health. Years after giving up her job as a waitress and becoming a housewife, she was catering a barbeque for a friend and suddenly noticed that she was out of energy. Jessica became depressed for many months, coming to terms with the sad truth that she had let her health go by the wayside, until one day she made a decision to change her life for the better. She started looking at how to introduce positivity into her life, changing her exercise and her diet, changing the way she thought about things and the kinds of influences she allowed in her life. In this interview we explore how to move forward from depression, how to create a positive environment, how to let go of toxic friendships, and how to increase our empathy for others. Emma Hunton is a class act. She currently plays Davia Moss on GOOD TROUBLE, now in its third season. But you know that! I bet you didn’t know that she once had access to LORD OF THE RINGS porn parody! Before her work in TV we all knew Emma from her career on stage as Elphaba in Wicked and Ilsa in Spring Awakening on Broadway, but did you know that if it came down to it, she’d kick Tomi Loren’s small minded ass!? I bet you know of her work on tour as Natalie in Next to Normal or from her performance in The Mad Ones, but I bet none of y’all knew that Emma and I actually dated over eleven years ago! In fact one of my most popular songs is written about her! Learn about that and all things Emma in this week’s episode! We talk about Emma’s non-stop career in show business since the age of 6, we talk about her hate for mansplainers. We talk about why I insist on continuing to try to start unnecessary beef with Broadway’s beloved Jonathan Groff. From household chores, to hangover cures, we discuss it all! What a joy it was to sit with my good friend Emma Hunton. Tune in, and subscribe! Find Emma Hunton on twitter instagram and TikTok @EmmaHunton, and don’t miss her on season 3 of FreeForm’s GOOD TROUBLE!
