If you think Flares aren't for you, then take a listen to this week's podcast.1. Choose the Right Length Make sure your flares skim the floor but don't drag. Pair them with heels for added height and elongation, or chunky flats for a more relaxed vibe.2. Balance the Silhouette Opt for a fitted or tucked-in top to balance the wide-leg shape of flares. This creates a flattering, hourglass silhouette.3. Highlight Your Waist Wear flares with a high-waisted cut to accentuate your waistline. Add a belt for extra definition and a polished look.4. Play with Proportions Pair flares with a cropped jacket or blazer to keep your outfit modern and structured. A longline coat works too but should fall open to show the waist.5. Experiment with Fabrics and Colours Try denim flares for a casual vibe or tailored ones for a chic, office-ready outfit. Experiment with bold colours or prints for a statement-making look.About the HostWorking with personal clients, Lisa is passionate to inspire & empower ambitious women to have a wardrobe that gives them the confidence & self belief to achieve & reach their goals whilst reflecting their personal brand.Lisa has contributed to editorials such as The Guardian, Times, Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Express works as the Style expert for BBC & Heart Radio throughout the UK. In this 'Boxing day' episode I wanted to share my top tips for shopping in the sales, I chat about each one of the areas;1. Set a BudgetDecide on a spending limit before you start shopping. This helps you avoid overspending on items you don't truly need.2. Make a Shopping ListIdentify wardrobe gaps and list items you need to complement your existing pieces. This keeps you focused and reduces impulse buying.3. Know Your StyleStick to your personal style and avoid being tempted by trends that might not work for you. Think about what aligns with your lifestyle and personality.4. Prioritise Quality Over QuantityLook for well-made, versatile pieces that will last, even if they're slightly more expensive. A great sale price is only valuable if the item is worth it.5. Check the Return PolicySales items often come with stricter return policies. Make sure you can exchange or return items if they don't fit or suit you.6. Be Strategic with TimingShop early for the best selection or wait until the final days of the sale for the deepest discounts—but know the risks of items selling out.7. Invest in ClassicsFocus on timeless wardrobe staples like tailored blazers, classic coats, neutral knitwear, and high-quality denim that won't go out of style.8. Avoid the "Bargain Trap"Just because something is discounted doesn't mean you should buy it. Ask yourself: “Would I pay full price for this?”9. Shop Online and In-StoreCheck both online and physical stores for the best deals. Often, online discounts or codes can make a big difference.10. Try It OnIf shopping in-store, take the time to try things on. For online shopping, double-check sizing charts and reviews to ensure a good fit.About the HostWorking with personal clients, Lisa is passionate to inspire & empower ambitious women to have a wardrobe that gives them the confidence & self belief to achieve & reach their goals whilst reflecting their personal brand.Lisa has contributed to editorials such as The Guardian, Times, Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Express works as the Style expert for BBC & Heart Radio throughout the UK. This week we sent off a coupon to catch 1960s advertising copywriter, Howard Gossage, through the eyes and work of Steve Harrison and Dave Dye. As a copywriter, Steve tamed more Cannes Lions in his discipline than anyone else in the world. He's been on the show twice before, once guesting, once hosting, and is a great friend of …Gasp!. Dave is the true “art director's art director”. Through his career he's won everything, worked for the best agencies in the business, and the visual techniques he uses to squeeze every ounce of juice from an idea are frankly unparalleled. The pair have joined forces to pen and produce ‘The Howard Gossage Show', a fitting celebration of the fun and fame peddling ad man; one of the industry's lesser known greats. We gossip on Gossage's showmanship, breaking conventions, having half an interesting conversation through his ads, writing to somebody, stunts, fame, and so much more. At a time when advertising is disliked and avoided by most people, his legacy feels even more important now than it was 60 years ago. So listen up. ///// Here's The Howard Gossage Show Follow Steve and Dave on LinkedIn Check out Dave's Stuff From the Loft And Steve's biography on Howard Gossage Timestamps (02:34) - Quick fire questions (Posh Spice or Persil?) It was the first really large corporate, with household brands Surf and Persil, to join a scheme that's been home to environmental hero brands such as EcoStore. Why did Unilever join? What did they discover in the process? And what impact has a major corporate had on such a spirited brand as B Lab? Vincent was joined by Cam Heath, MD of Unilever NZ and Andrew Davies CEO of B Lab.

The guest explained that commercial detergents are specifically formulated for high-efficiency machines and properly cleaning clothes. Homemade detergents often do not clean well and leave residue on clothes. As the host said, “Homemade laundry detergent is often not effective and can leave residue on your clothes. It's best to stick with commercial detergents that are specifically formulated for high-efficiency machines.”Look for natural, eco-friendly detergent options if you want to avoid harsh chemicals. Many major brands like Tide and Persil offer fragrance-free, dye-free options that work well. Check the ingredients to find simple, natural options. For most stains, pretreat with liquid laundry detergent and let it sit before washing. Dish soap like Dawn also works great for grease and oil stains. Hydrogen peroxide is excellent for whitening and brightening stains on white clothes. These methods avoid the need for most commercial stain removers. As the host recommended, “For most stains, pretreat with liquid laundry detergent and let it sit before washing. Dish soap like Dawn also works great for grease and oil stains.”Hot water is not necessary for most loads and can fade and damage clothes. Use cold water for the majority of loads to prolong the life of your clothes. Hot water is only needed for whites and when using oxygen bleach. According to the host, “Hot water is not necessary for most loads and can fade and damage clothes.
Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
