This week, we get lost in thought about the difference between cucktoast and milquetoast, revisit the Beastie Boys x Santigold video, and dive into the bizarre history of the real Santo Gold. Plus, JJ has some thoughts on the Taken franchise. Then, in Web Droppings, things heat up when a man sets his place on fire trying to hide his inflatable girlfriend, a couple spends a flight next to a dead body, and some Colorado men go full Looney Tunes trying to launch contraband into a prison—by cannon and—oh yeah—there's an asteroid headed for Earth! Get Lost.
Maine! An angel! Santo Gold! T-Boz appreciation! Henning Ohlenbusch, Edson Choi, and Cristal Time are the special guest stars.

Off The Cutting Room Floor makes its return on January 15, 2021 to bring you the insane tale of Santo Gold and his sole feature-length film, Blood Circus!
In 1985, Baltimore infomercial star Santo Victor Rigatuso, aka Santo Gold, produced an extravaganza with something for everyone: It promised horror, wrestling, rock, and even a "three-headed Munga Magoon." It was all supposed to be filmed and turned into a feature film more exciting than the recent Rocky III.The spectacle, called Blood Circus, was also supposed to introduce some exciting new technology called a "scream bag." Attendees were promised a Thundervision sound system, atomic fleas, and a "new type of movie unlike anything you will ever experience."They received none of these things. But the failure of Blood Circus is a remarkable story that brings together The Wire creator David Simon, indie music star Santigold, and Mark H. Weingartner, who would later work on Inception, Dunkirk and The Hunger Games Saga.If you'd like to learn more about Blood Circus, here are the sources for this episode of The Industry:ArticlesAnft, Michael. “Fool’s Gold” – Santo Rigatuso: The Man with the Four-Way Lips, Baltimore City Paper, February 16, 1990.http://www.baltimoreorless.com/2011/01/fools-gold-santo-rigatuso-the-man-with-the-four-way-lips/Harrington, Richard. In another conniving and cannibalistic episode, our heroes investigate the cinematic enigma that is Blood Circus Wrestling. Filled with angels, aliens, grapplers, decapitations, blood, brawls and mayhem, it's a story you need to hear to disbelieve. Saddle up, grab your scream bag, and sing along to the crooning of Santo Gold as we discuss the film that fraud built. Show Notes:Williams, AZ isn't as close to the Grand Canyon as Mike thoughtBusinesses still have to care about their employees, for now.Because Mike has neglected to fully define Mary Sue. Indie darling and savvy industry operator Santi White has been involved in music than you might think. Formerly and A&R rep for Epic Records, she’d been producing and writing songs for other artists for years (as well as kicking around in a punk band for much of the early 00s) before her debut album dropped in 2008. The result of all that time working behind the scenes meant that Santi emerged with a polished, considered and eclectic record that belies its debut album status. Is it perhaps too carefully engineered? That’s one of the many things we discuss on today’s episode as we take a tour of her career thus far, whilst Chris and Weaver get into it a couple of different topics. It’s a pretty interesting discussion all round. As ever, it boils down to whether or not you think this album is worthy of inclusion in our discography. Vote below. Then do us a solid and tell all yr friends.
The nobodies make YET ANOTHER ill advised trip to RANTonfield, in this PENULTIMATE episode of the Halloween mini series and it's a DOUBLE FEATURE! That's right, after promising not to address the Zombie films, and then realizing that most of the franchise is flaming hot trash, the nobodies enlist the help of their resident Zodiac, SANTO GOLD to dive into the WHITE TRASH MADNESS that is Zombie's incarnation. In the Hornshoe: Pet Semetary trailer and HUGE announcement!!! Oh yeah. Halloween Resurrection happened.
Santigold is the moniker of Philadelphia-born musician and producer Santi White. She released her debut album Santogold in 2008, followed by Master of My Make-Believe in 2012. She has since collaborated with the likes of Jay Z, Q Tip, Kanye West, Beastie Boys and Lykke Li. She joins Gemma at the Wallace Collection in London to talk about her loves beyond music including interior design.

Santogold gets reworked by Diplo, Sir-Mix-A-Lot is remixed, and the show wraps up with a new one from Lusine.

This week, we (unknowingly) explore various facets of social psychology: the bombings in Boston and the Internet's response; memes, and how people, shockingly, are unoriginal; the social shift noticeable through the coming out of gay athletes; our fascination with horror films and, for not always unrelated reasons, tattoos. Dntel remixes Enya. Mali's Rokia Traore brings the beauty and then we pick up a bit with Toronto's Austra. We drop some post-punk/post-rock with Sonic Youth and Pixies then legends Eek-a-Mouse and Lee Perry bring the reggae. Electronic music pioneer Daphne Oram brings her Bird of Parallax, and Santogold drops a nice remix of L.E.S. Artistes. It all starts with a throwback to the 80s with Bronski Beat. We continue with the 808 and female vocals theme as we go into more contemporary tunes from Born Gold and a bangin' Austra remix from Mark Pistel. Aphex Twin drops a remix and then show fav Santogold sings us to the break with Say Aha. We shift gears into some psydubby territory but not withouth passing through some Flamenco flavour from Gustavo Santaolalla and Phutureprimitive. The hips start to wiggle as we move into Beanfield and we end off with the tripped out beats of Die Antwoord's Zefside Zol. A real ride through genres this week on the show. We start all space and psychedelic with a little live Ozric Tentacles before dropping some bass heavy tunes starting with Pretty Lights' heavy and incredibly wicked dubstep track "I Know The Truth". More chest rattling ensues with goodies from Santogold and edIT. From there we go into some hiphoppy breaks styles Pilote and the mighty 2econd Class Citizen (with a new album coming soon that's sure not to be slept on) as well as Yppah and a Beatles remix that puts Jay-Z to shame. The hour ends with some driving minimal techno from M.A.N.D.Y and Brinkmann dropping funk and 303 on our asses. Tracklist: Ozric Tentacles - Live Throbbe Pretty Lights - I Know The Truth Santogold - Creator (vs. Switch and Freq Nasty) Santogold - Anne (Switch Mix) edIT - If You Crump Stand Up Pilote - Microphones 2econd Class Citizen - The Way I Feel Yppah - Blue Schwinn Ill Chemist - Feel Alright M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (Jona Remix) Soul Center - Lopster

Miss Lily Allen is back! This is the FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of August 20, 2008 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul music, news and commentary. This week we had a on point interview with author Douglas A. Blackmon for his book, "Slavery By Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II" (now currently out on Doubleday Books), which "brings to light one of the most shameful chapters in American history—when a cynical new form of slavery was resurrected from the ashes of the Civil War and re-imposed on hundreds of thousands of African-Americans until the dawn of World War II" by throwing Black Men, Women and Childresn into prison in the South for labor purposes under false pretenses to be arrested. Feel free to hit him up the official book website, http://www.slaverybyanothername.com. Due to the interview, there is no new segment of Black Agenda Report and no Direct EFX segment (due to summer break for colleges).
