LMS Precision Engineering has trusted its tooling supplier for over 35 years. With a relationship that dates back more than three decades, many manufacturers would ask ‘why?' The simple answer lies in the fact that Midlands-based LMS works with Guhring UK, one the world's leading manufacturers of cutting tools with UK manufacturing facilities and expert engineers on hand to deliver optimal machining solutions, whatever the challenge. Scott Street, a partner at Droitwich-based LMS Precision Engineering says: “We are a family-run business that has been operating for over 40 years. Our main sectors of interest are aerospace and general subcontract machining. We have always had a great relationship with Guhring.” Discussing the relationship, Chris Bush from Guhring says: “LMS and Guhring have been working together for over 35 years now. LMS use the whole spectrum of our cutting tools, whether that's milling cutters, drills, taps or thread mills. In fact, everything through to the Tool Management vending machine. LMS were one of the first customers to see the advantages of a tool management vending machine. Allowing them to put their resources in providing components rather than manually ordering tools, looking for tools and managing tool stocks. The TM machine automated all this and much more. The relationship has evolved so much over the years. In that period, cutting tool technology has changed and evolved hugely, as has the LMS business, the technology it invests in and the size of the company. The customer base at LMS has evolved as well, and they are machining a lot of different materials, so down the 35-year relationship - it has been exponential growth and change on both sides. However one thing remains, and that is the strength of our partnership.” The Guhring Tool Management vending solutions can be built to a customer's requirements and are available in open drawer type for maximum versatility or 100% secure single tool dispensing. The system will control and monitor tool consumption and spending with reporting for complete visibility. The main benefits of the Guhring Tool Management vending solutions include 24/7 controlled tool availability and prevention of production stoppages due to tool availability. It will also eliminate loss and theft, create employee awareness of tooling costs and the system can communicate with customer IT systems. Recalling specific product lines that have supported LMS Precision, Scott continues: “We had a lot of joy with the Guhring VA Series drill and now there is the new InoxPro drill as well, so this is bringing us even greater runtimes than ever before. We use Guhring on everything, from end mills such as the high-speed rippers, the through coolant drills, high-speed steel drills, stub drills - absolutely everything.” Adding to this, Guhring's Chris Bush says: “LMS use a complete range of our tools and they machine so many different types of material, they have to have material specific cutters as well as general-purpose cutters. They use the whole spectrum of our tooling range. With the range of stainless steel that LMS machines have; the new InoxPro is perfect for them. The Inox Pro introduces a new grade of carbide, so it is a much tougher carbide with a new geometry that is specifically for titanium and stainless steel. We also have the new Perrox coating on there as well. This is a much tougher wearing coating that is a lot smoother and this delivers optimum swarf evacuation.” “The benefit of using Guhring as a supplier is that we manufacture our carbide. We can make our own grades for specific applications, so we have made tougher grades of carbide that are not as brittle as carbides from other manufacturers. This makes it perfect for challenging applications in titanium and stainless steel.” Alluding to the application of the latest generation of tools, Scott comments: “The latest tools have given us the confidence to run lights-out, reducing the number of tools we need to stock and giving us full visibility of all tool usage and tool performance. This is especially the case with the VA Series drill. With that drill, we can now run over 1200 parts over a period of 15 hours on 316 stainless, drilling a 10mm diameter hole at 17.65mm deep with no problems at all. It's absolutely great. The confidence it has given us is incredible. We have worked with Guhring for 35 years, and the products and support are great. The relationship we have and the products are brilliant.” Concluding on the partnership, Chris Bush continues: “We have built a brilliant relationship and we are looking forward to the next 35 years. LMS have got exciting new projects coming through and new machines that they are investing in. Combining their technology and the advancement of materials, there will be plenty of exciting new challenges ahead and we relish the opportunity to deliver results long into the future.”

Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG. How we use AI is the title of S.09 E.07 n.140 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. In the wild west of new AI or artificial intelligence applications that are showing up more and more these days. It has become even more of a thing, while being around for years and year… but perhaps not as known to much of the public. To me, the positive side of Artificial Intelligence or AI shows itself in automation options and wonderful elements that can simplify certain types of work, research and intelligence gathering and organizing. These tools can be very useful for businesses at all levels and all sizes. Now on the dark side of AI or how I see the dark side of artificial intelligence if you will, those that are using it to create content or creating words, audios, videos and images that are not from your knowledge, wisdom, or experience can set a bad standard. And in the end, it is good to vet, do your due diligence and see if they have the professionalism or are pretending to know what they don't. And that is the Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG. How we use AI title came from. Our Artificial Intelligence Statement from FSG is this…At FSG, from Fish Stewarding Group including every branch of FSG and all related sites and content online and off, we only use Artificial Intelligence for automation, audio mixing, video mixing, simple image enhancement, organization and acquisition of intelligence and authority sources. What is a messaging and optics strategist? is the title of S.09 E.06 n.139 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. In short, my definition of a messaging and optics strategist is an individual that looks at the foundational, stability, security and marketing elements a brand, product, business or story. This focuses on the authenticity, authority, optics, psychology and perceptions of a brand, persona or product. It is a person that looks to serve as a unbiased third party to help with a discovery that includes a research analysis of patterns, similarities, differences, tones, tempos and temperatures of what is in place, what is required before marketing and what is missing. This can include interviews asking if in the communication, messaging and optics from both an online and offline standpoint as well as helping to present a messaging performance outline for the business, the product, the service or person. With this information, as well as a discovery and research into a series of other elements, a blueprint can be built to allow for the strongest foundation of a message. From there, the marketing, promotion and publicity can amplify a less time consuming approach that can also save marketing dollars as well. There is a lot more to answer the questions What is a messaging and optics strategist, but the above is an overview and this podcast brings up the points to consider and how correctly organizing your messaging and your optics can help in many ways. What is a messaging and optics strategist? is the title of S.09 E.06 n.139 of the FSG Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman.* Loren Weisman is a messaging and optics strategist for The Fish Stewarding Group * Weisman is also the host of the FSG messaging and optics podcast; Wait What Really OK.* * Fish Stewarding Group * FSG Messaging and Optics * FSG Development * FSG living * FSG Africa * * 649 Scott Street, Suite #101A, Tye, Texas, 79563-2225, USA * * https://lorenweisman.com * * https://fishstewarding.com * * © 2022 Loren Weisman/Fish Stewarding Group. Yep…and it’s all happening at 170 Scott Street, starting at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday I guess it would be fair to say that weather and happiness are around in some form or other all the time, but flying pies are rare. If all goes according to plan, you can see the entire leadership team of […]
But first, the details: We’re gathering in person at 170 Scott Street at 10:45 a.m. That’s the Rainbow Resource Centre, if you want an internet shortcut. Once you pull up, follow the signs. That’ll seem less cryptic when you get there.
Yep, we’re still alive and live at 170 Scott Street! 10:45 a.m., use the side entrance where we’ll put out the sign, park on either side of the building or the street, bring your own coffee, no planned programming for the littles but a great space to hang out and see what the parent co-op […]
Amazon best selling book claims and the 16,000 book categories is the title of S.09 E.04 n.137 of the FSG Brand Messaging and Optics Podcast, Wait What Really OK hosted by FSG Messaging and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman. Does it ever seem like there are way too many authors claiming to be best sellers of books you've never heard of”Have you noticed that some of these authors will spend a lot of time promoting a ranking but seem to have no skill win promoting the book it self? Also, have you noticed when you search how to become an Amazon best seller, there are hundreds of services that will guarantee a momentary ranking so you can claim to have an Amazon Best selling book, but none of these seem to be selling all that many books? And have you noticed that some of the ebook rankings are actually referring to free downloads over actual sales?Did you know authors can buy reviews? And are you aware there are 16000 book categories on Amazon? And that some book promotion companies will advise you to list in a sub category with very few books just to be able to move a few books and claim to be a best seller. Add to this how the term best seller and the optics around it is starting to create more questions in many than ever before. I find this to be a problem and at the same time it can take away from the authority and authenticity of genuine best sellers. I believe it is time to focus on creating a book if you have a book in you and not writing a book to seem like you are an authority. “Publishing a book does not make you and authority or an expert. Authorship does not equal authority.” And would you openly share you had a company write a book for you, someone from your team or an AI system to create a book? I believe if you do not have a book in you, dont write one. I believe if you do have a book in you, consider promoting it with authentic, authoritative content and messaging that highlights the book beyond its ranking. I believe connecting with a publisher or editor if you are self publishing... consider looking for the guidance to set a solid foundation of truth with your book and not just focus on Consider honoring your audience by sharing pieces of the book and elements that supplement what is there from quotes, to videos to audios to images. This over sharing rankings. And if you have a genuine best seller, consider the tactics of a more authentic promotion since so many out there are making false claims that can create a perception that you are even if you aren't. Consider grounding yourself and your book in honest, moral and authentic strategies and tactics to promote your book over using false hype, false pretenses and false numbers. Many think that vaccine mandate litigation only includes quacks as plaintiffs and attorneys. Like employment and personal injury attorneys, those who represent anti-vaxxers are painted with a broad brush, often negative. But our guest today doesn't neatly fit into a box. Scott Street is a credible litigator with a successful history in high-stakes litigation (we worked on a 100M case together); we were in the same law class at Loyola Law School and have been active in democratic politics for years. But he has been at the forefront of the fight against vaccine mandates and other related litigation. In this episode of LawFlip, we discuss why. We discuss vaccine mandates, how the Covid vaccine compares to other vaccines, how hypocritical politicians on both sides have been, and we each give our take on the Russia/Ukraine crisis. For this month's bonus episode we bring you the audio from our recent live stream 'Around The World In 80 Fails' as we visit the eight major cities from Jules Verne's novel and dispense ten facts for each as well as setting a treasure hunt for you to crack! The clues are below, followed by the answers and explanations if you want to have a go at it yourself with the prize being mere pride and smugness and not, as in Phileas Fogg's case, £20,000. To solve them, use a mix of what we say in the podcast, some judicious internet research and a bit of Google Maps! Each clue’s answer is found in the city in which it is given in and each answer is a 1 or 2 digit number which help solve the final clue. CLUES: 1 - LONDON: Inside a triangle between Fogg’s home, Doyle’s detective’s domicile, and the bronze memorial to Verne’s translation topper, find a circular quadrilateral and the blue plaque at the residence of a premier liberal. 2 - SUEZ: From the octagonal beacon, move towards Nemo’s sub’s nuclear namesake’s pole. Running east to west above the Friends-y café you’ll find a Fat Fucker’s revolutionary street. Add the digits. 3 - MUMBAI: Across the Back from the formerly cardboard arch lies a Babylonian Wonder. Walk its southern path to the stone shelter and find the blue Zone opposite. 4 - KOLKATA: Just over halfway between the Bollywood Godfather’s place of worship and the Vidyasagar Setu, get out of this world then look just south for a holy seat and count the apostle’s supposed epistles. 5 - HONG KONG: Follow the aim of the midday munition just across the water to a stellar street. At its eastern-most end pick the eastern-most spot by a Melville-inspired coffeehouse where The cinematic Dragon stands and take the first digit of his age at time of death. 6 - YOKOHAMA: From the former foremost ferris, follow the road eastwards, over the bridge - then south of the pachyderm’s nose to an arena. Add the individual digits in the left or right corner of the scoreboard. 7 - SAN FRANCISCO: From where The Rock Islanders played, fly south-ish - but before Archimedes’ exclamation pause at the Vanessa Cardui, and visit the park with shades of Davy Crockett. Find the most storey-ed building on its western side, add the second and third digits and multiply by half the first digit. 8 - NEW YORK: From the island of Elizabeth Jane Cochran’s asylum, follow Paul and Art’s cantilever northwest to the fountain of her circumnavigatory sponsor. Its adjacent avenue is your final number. FINAL CLUE: Translate these numbers. Your team name is the final clue and final answer. Doyle's Detective's Domicile is 221b Baker Street (home of Arthurs Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes), and Barry also mentioned that Jules Verne is the second-most translated writer on Earth after Agatha Christie, who has a memorial in Leicester Square. If you draw a triangle between these 3 points, in the middle of this triangle is Cavendish Square - a rather circular square - where there is a blue plaque on Number 20 which is the home of Herbert Asquith, the former Liberal Prime Minister. 2: 5Ben told us about the lighthouse in Port Said, which is octagonal. 'Towards Nemo's sub's nuclear namesake's pole' requires a bit of Googling. Captain Nemo is a Jules Verne character whose submarine was called the Nautilus. There was a real-life nuclear submarine called the Nautilus which was the first to travel under the North Pole. Travelling north from the lighthouse in Port Said you come to a café called Central Perk (like the café in Friends) which is on an east-to-west street called 23rd July St. 23rd July was the date of the Egyptian coup in 1952 as part of Operation 'Fat Fucker', the CIA's plan to eject King Farouk. Add 2 and 3 and you get 5! 3: 1 Ben mentioned that Mumbai's 'Gateway to India' wasn't ready when a royal visit took place in 1911 and so a cardboard replica stood in its place. Looking at Google Maps of Mumbai, the bay just to the west of where the Gateway stands is called Back Bay and on the other side of the bay from the Gateway is a park called Hanging Gardens (the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World). If you go into street view and walk along the southern path of the park, in the southeastern corner is a stone shelter which has a blue sign reading Zone 1 across from it. 4: 13 Barry talked about Amitabh Bachchan, the famed Bollywood actor whose roles included the title figure of Sarkar in the Bollywood version of The Godfather. Barry also mentioned that Bachchan is worshipped in a temple in Kolkata (which is located in the All Bengal Amitabh Bachchan Fans' Association building). The Vidyasagar Setu is the name of the Second Hooghly Bridge. Draw a line from the temple towards the bridge and just over halfway you come to a planetarium ("out of this world") - south of which is St. Paul's Cathedral, the seat of the Anglican diocese of Kolkata. St Paul the apostle is supposed to have written 13 epistles in the New Testament. 5: 3 Ben told us about the Noon Day Gun in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The photos of it all show that it points straight out across the bay, just on the other side of which is Avenue Of Stars. At the eastern end of the avenue is a Starbucks - and any of you who recently heard of Coffee episode will know that Herman Melville's 'Moby Dick' includes the character of Starbuck. The Dragon was film star Bruce Lee's name and sure enough he has a statue standing just outside that Starbucks. He died aged 3, so take the 3 from his age. 6: 12 Barry talked about Cosmo Clock 21, at one point the world's tallest Ferris wheel at 107m. Follow the road on Google maps east from there and it crosses a bridge by Elephant Nose Park. Look south from there and you find Yokohama Stadium. Into street view, you can look at the scoreboard where the bottom corners both show 10.29. Add the individual digits: 1+2+9 = 12! 7: 21 Ben talked about Al Capone's time playing in an Alcatraz inmate band called the Rock Islanders. Quite a way south of there is an area called Eureka Valley - Archimedes famously shouted Eureka! in his bath. Before you get there you can find a series of buildings called The Painted Ladies - painted lady is a type of butterfly whose Latin name is Vanessa Cardui. Just beside these buildings on the map is Alama Park, and Davy Crockett famously died in the Battle of the Alamo. On the west side of the park - Scott Street - the tallest building is a white apartment block, number 625. 2+5 (the second and third digits) = 7, multiplied by 3 (half the first digit) = 21. 8: 5Right at the start of the podcast, Barry mentioned the pioneering journalist Nellie Bly, whose real name was Elizabeth Jane Cochran. She spent time undercover in an asylum on Blackwell Island - which has since been renamed Roosevelt Island, the very first stop on our NYC tour! Paul (Simon) and Art (Garfunkel) sang about the 59th Street Bridge, the other name of the Ed Koch Queensboro, a cantilever bridge running northwest off Roosevelt Island. Continue along 59th Street and you come to the southeastern corner of Central Park where the Pulitzer Fountain sits - Joseph Pulitzer sponsored Nellie Bly's trip around the world. It is adjacent to 5th Avenue. FINAL CLUE ANSWER: TEAM CLUE This is a straightforward enough clue that you have a number-letter cipher - turn the 8 numbers into letters of the alphabet and you have your final answer: TEAM CLUE.
Scott Street an attorney representing the California Fitness Alliance comes on the program to discuss indoor gym activity still not being allowed in California. Officials in San Francisco are trying to move homeless people from temporary hotel housing to permanent housing but the homeless don't want to go. Steve Gregory with the latest on a survey that was sent out by new LA County DA George Gascon. The man wearing the watch that was stolen from the Beverly Hills restaurant Il Pastaio yesterday comes on the show to share the story of what went down when 3 men, 1 of whom was armed, began to attack him.
This episode is a little different. It’s a re-issue of Phoebe Bridgers’ Song Exploder episode from January 2019, along with a brand new segment where she and I talk about dealing with writer’s block. Phoebe Bridgers is a singer-songwriter from Los Angeles. In September 2017, she released her debut album, Stranger in the Alps. One of the breakout songs from that album was “Scott Street,” a song Phoebe co-wrote with her drummer, Marshall Vore. Coming up first in this episode, Phoebe and Marshall break down how that song went from an unfinished cassette recording, to an acoustic demo, and then finally to the album version. And then, after that, after you hear "Scott Street" in its entirety, Phoebe and I talk about writer’s block: what causes it for her, and how’s she’s dealt with it. So stick around after the full song to hear that conversation. songexploder.net/phoebe-bridgers

This is an update to our March 29, 2020 minisode. There has been an arrest made in the case.17-year-old Paige Johnson was last seen on September 23, 2010. She had just turned 17 and was headed to her sister's apartment. According to her mother, Donna, it sounded as if Paige said “Jason” was picking her up...when in fact, what she actually said was that “Jacob” was picking her up. Her mother knew Jason and knew that she would be safe with him...so she said okay and told her to be safe and have fun. However, the person she was actually leaving with was a 22-year-old by the name of Jacob Bumpass.Jacob Bumpass, to this day, doesn't talk about that night. What he HAS said though, is where he dropped her off that night. He claimed that he dropped her off at 15th and Scott Street in Covington, Kentucky at around 1am. However, the authorities have indicated that his cell phone never pinged off of towers in that area. His phone DID ping at East Fork Lake (in Clermont County, Ohio) between at about 4:18am when he sent a text message from his phone. He is the very last person known to have seen Paige alive. As of March 22, 2020; Paige's remains have been identified. Can you guess where? About 1-2 miles from where Bumpass' phone pinged near East Fork State Park. Her cause of death is still under investigation. Bondi Beach-based street artist NOT NOT aka Cam Scott captured my attention and imagination last year with 'Digital Realities’ - his thought provoking street art series designed to have us individually to consider the impact of the behaviours and addictions that the major platforms and mobile phone technology are creating, breeding and feeding in society and our everyday lives. From our digital selves to clickbait compulsions, this is a fascinating exploration into the digital world and I loved having him on the show! We share our own individual techniques that we use for regular digital escape, Centre for Humane Technology’s approach to ‘“realigning technology with humanity’s best interests, the LIKE IRL project, how Cam Scott came to create his Sunnys Eyewear brand, ‘In Praise of Idleness’ and NOT NOT’s 2 key pieces of advice that he'd give to someone who has a dream, but is afraid to take that first step. Super inspiring and fascinating chats with a highly intelligent, genuine, thoughtful and personable individual. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!
