One of, if not the most common questions I receive from individuals who have been in the psychedelic space for some time now is how to know when you need a break from the medicines to integrate. The challenge with this is that ultimately the answer is going to be different from person to person, however, there are some telltale signs to look out for, along with a roadmap of how to understand when you are ready & have the necessary bandwidth to go back to the medicine. This is why in todays episode, I invited my dear brother & business partner, who has taken the last year off of all medicines to integrate to a deeper degree, to come onto the show & share why he decided to take the break, how the break has been, what it has opened up for him & his thoughts surrounding what these periods of integration are truly for within the big picture of life. For those of you out there who are committed to leveling up & are consciously connecting with medicines, trust me when I say that this is one episode that you're going to want to hit. One of the things I am so grateful for is the ability to see the way that many doctors approach health & well-being shifting globally on a massive scale & beginning to utilize things such as plant medicines as alternative modalities for healing. In my opinion, this amazing paradigm shift we are experiencing will open up the doorway to true healthcare, aka preventative medicine, rather than what we currently have which is best described as sick care, aka once you're sick, you then go to receive care. Today's guest on the show is a man who, along with being a medical doctor from Australia, is a leading voice & proponent behind the utilization of Cannabis for healthcare & well-being as a whole & in this episode, we dive into his background & story of moving through addiction & the typical medical model both for himself & his patients, his own journey into Cannabis & the profound benefits he has found within the plant & much, much more.Show Notes: (0:42) Dr. James Stewart's Bio. (03:50) Dr. Stewart's backstory. (10:35) Patients can relate to you on a deeper level. (14:18) Once a raver, always a raver! (27:33) Working with cannabis. (46:44) Trusting your heart. (01:01:21) Where you can connect with Dr. Stewart! (01:02:38) One final question… About Dr.JSDr. James Stewart (DrJS), Australia's three-time Doctor of the Year in Cannabis, has forged a groundbreaking career. One thing I speak about often & for very good reason is the concept of integration within the plant medicine space. One thing I believe we all truly seek at our core is the ability to feel whole. This being said, the lack of feeling whole is arguably one of the biggest challenges in modern-day society. We have 1000's of “friends” on social media, more distractions & shiny lights than ever & yet this problem has only gotten worse as we've continued to stray away from the true nature of our being in place of what we have been programmed to believe will lead to true fulfillment & wholeness. For me, I don't know if there is “one” solution to this multi-faceted issue, but one thing I know is that by reconnecting to the natural world, we can set in motion a chain of events that will begin to allow us to remember who & what we truly are &, in my opinion, one of the most effective & practical tools to deepen our connection to nature is the idea of microdosing psilocybin. Microdosing, as opposed to macrodosing, allows us to experience the magic of medicines such as psilocybin without having to have deep experiences that for many, are not desired. Today's guest on the show is a man who knows the power & potency of microdosing routines in one's life, as he has experienced this magic firsthand not only in his own life but also in the lives of numerous clients within his 1:1 mentorship work & his “Microdosing Mastermind.” Within the mastermind specifically, his mission is to empower his clients to take full ownership of their habits, health, healing & happiness by equipping them with the tools to do so & the necessary support to achieve any & all goals they create for themselves. It is no secret that the world of plant medicines is exploding in popularity at the present time. More & more people are switching from the normal protocols associated with areas of life such as mental health, physical health & spirituality as a whole & are instead looking to engage with these ancient modalities for outcomes such as healing, self awareness, etc. This being said, many are finding that within this current popularization, there are more & more practitioners coming forth, some of whom have no formal training & are endangering those they are choosing to serve, instead of helping them. With this challenge, it has brought light to the importance of being able to find organizations & individuals within those organizations that are truly fit to not only serve the medicine, but also to serve those who come to them thereafter with integration plans, follow ups, etc. Todays guest on the show is someone I am extremely excited to chat with as he has dedicated his life to not only making this goal a reality within his business, the Ayahuasca foundation, which he began in 2008, but to also allow those who come to experience the FULL tradition associated with the medicine of Ayahuasca, indigenous wisdom & culture, & Peruvian culture as a whole. I see life like a video game & the main challenge amongst this reality is that most of us believe we know the rules of the game called life, yet, as you'll recognize after hearing today's conversation, the amount we don't know about how to truly thrive within this world is absolutely mind-boggling &, to be in alignment with this show, is also quite psychedelic when you sink into what all you'll be hearing today can be applied to your life. Today's guest on the show is a man who I found not because of psychedelics, but because of the subject of sovereignty. He is the owner & founder of “Onestupidfuck”, which is a business dedicated to supplying the world with the true history behind money, banking, law & more. Within his business, he has an amazing free course called the “Contract Killer Course” that I recommend you download from his website, along with further education for those of you who want to truly see just how deep the rabbit hole goes. This is an episode that I very much recommend sharing with anyone you love as, like I stated earlier, the implications of what this information can do for you & your loved ones will be the strongest psychedelic experience you've ever dreamt of!Show Notes:(01:22) Brandon's Bio.(05:01) How did Brandon first get into sovereignty? (29:20) Brandon's new passport…(33:14) What is Slowjamistan?(47:03) How to crack the American banking system.(59:34) Discharging a mortgage. (01:06:52) Where you can find Brandon!About JoeJoe is an author, musician, podcaster, and teacher among other things. For many of us, the realm of psychedelic medicines has served as a catalyst for deeper spiritual connection. The main challenge that presents itself, however, within the lives of many spiritual seekers that connect with psychedelic medicines for increased connection to the realm of spirit, is a lack of both understanding of the nature of reality & also how to integrate this ability to connect deeper to spirit into their every day lives. Today's guest on the show is a man I am beyond excited to speak to regarding not only his own personal experiences with these medicines but also the ways in which he has embodied & integrated this innerstanding of the nature of reality into his own life & the lives of his students.  His main vehicle through which he delivers these teachings & empowers his students is his business, 4D University, & trust me when I say that for any of you who resonate with his message, I highly recommend checking out his content & offerings  & seeing for yourself why he's been able to shift so many people's mindsets within the work he has devoted himself to.Show Notes:(00:42) Aaron's Bio.(04:46) How did Aaron first become interested in psychedelics?(19:52) Cannabis can be a great catalyst for so many things in life.(46:33) Aaron shares some practical tips for the listeners(01:12:10) Where you can find Aaron!(01:13:12) One final question…About AaronAaron Abke is a paradigm-shifting spiritual teacher that delivers a fresh, new perspective on Self-Realization through his teachings on the Law of One, Non-Duality, and Spiritual Intelligence. For any of us that have been in the psychedelic space for even a short amount of time, it is easy to see that between individuals, there are many differences with regard to how these medicines operate within our minds, bodies & spirits. This being said, we can see this very clearly within the scope of men vs. women & one of the things I have been curious about for quite some time now is the idea of creating specialized frameworks for men vs. women within the psychedelic space as a whole. Well, my curiosity was finally resolved when I met today's guest & learned about her newest creation, “The Psilocybin Handbook For Women.” Within this book, she goes into great detail about all the latest research on the topic of psilocybin for women & in this episode, we take a deep dive into many of the subjects within the book to demystify this topic & illuminate some of the nuances for any of you women out there looking to maximize the potential of this medicine in your own lives.Show Notes:(01:11) Jen's Bio.(02:13) How did Jen first become interested in psychedelics?(08:54) What was Jen's first psychedelic experience like?(29:59) What motivated Jen to start the work that she is doing?(51:43) What's next for Jen?(55:41) Where you can find Jen!(56:21) One final question…About JenniferJennifer Chesak is the author of The Psilocybin Handbook for Women. For anyone who has had the opportunity to experience the powers of DMT, you know full well what that experience can bring forth. This being said, for many people, this medicine can create a lot of anxiety as it comes on intense & fast & also, due to the fast & strong nature of it, leave many individuals puzzled as to how to contextualize their experience & how to then integrate from it. Today's guest on the show is a returning guest who is a pioneer in the realms of Cannabis, Psilocybin, Ketamine & DMT & in this episode we will be focusing primarily on his most recent venture, DMTX. DMTX is an extended state DMT experience in which the individual moving through the experience can be brought into the effects of the medicine in a slower, controlled manner & also be kept in that state longer than with other forms, such as when smoking DMT. He has been working on this project for quite some time & his overarching business, The Center For Medicinal Mindfulness, has been a long-time juggernaut in the plant medicine space in helping its clients not only benefit from the powers of Cannabis & now Psilocybin, Ketamine & DMT but also receive training in how to replicate these results for others as well!Show Notes:(01:24) Dan's Bio.(03:39) What is DMT X?(05:42) What are the challenges with DMT?(11:49) How do I contextualize and integrate the experience?(23:26) Who is the final boss?(39:14) Why suffer?(01:14:51) Where you can find Daniel!(01:16:37) One final question…About DanielDaniel McQueen, MA, is a Psychedelic Specialist, Educator, and Author of the book, Psychedelic Cannabis: Therapeutic Methods and Unique Blends to Treat Trauma and Transform Consciousness. For anyone who has connected with plant medicines & psychedelics before, I imagine it's no mystery that these medicines & teachers have the ability to bring forth heightened creativity, unlock aspects of our heart & soul's callings & allow us to take an objective view of the path we are currently on & simultaneously view other paths we could choose to embark upon. This being said, all too often psychedelic enthusiasts have these experiences & fail to take action on them thereafter the experience, leading them to either not live the version of life that is greatest & grandest in nature for them &/or believe they must need another journey to be able to access that feeling of passion & purpose once more. I often talk about this as these individuals mistaking the medicine itself as the “sun” or “moon”, with the sun & moon in this example acting as our own intuition & ability to access these states while in our sober reality & todays guest on the show is leading the charge in being able to guide her clients not only into connecting with the medicine of psilocybin in ways that ensure harm reduction tactics are employed, minimum effective dosing protocols are practiced & that they understand that all this medicine is doing is showing them the possibilities that already exist within them, but is also doing so in a way that allows them to have a deeper sense of direction & intention within the experience & a solid integration platform after the experience has concluded. In addition, she is also a master in the realms of content creation, branding, social media, bio hacking & more & employs her unique skill set within the plant medicine space to allow her clients to maximize their creative potential & unlock deeper layers of their purpose in the work they do together. Show Notes:This week, on Episode 65 of the This One Time on Psychedelics Podcast, we talk with  Brand Stylist™, psychonaut, and holistic guide Bijous Finney about:(3:52) How Bijou first got into plant medicines.(13:51) Ryan's father being a major reason why he's the person he is today.(18:32) The best analogy for death. (29:35) It's important to know your dose.(53:25) Where you can reach Bijou. (54:16) One Final question.A gift from Bijous! Follow the link to download the Microdosing Guide for Conscious Entrepreneurs and Use the code HighOP to get $10 off!   https://bio.site/mushroommamasitaBijous Finney:Bijou is a Brand Stylist™, psychonaut and holistic guide specializing in visionary life design for conscious entrepreneurs & couples.  Her therapeutic coaching process is a mix of new age & ancient teachings that support business owners & lovers in the use of psychedelics and healing practices to retrain their nervous systems and clear limiting mental blocks. There was band camp, there was cheer camp, there was summer camp, and there was SPACE CAMP.  If you were one of the lucky kids to graduate from Space Camp during its prime in the 90s, you got to try on a space suit, eat dippin' dots, pretend to be on the moon, and launch and land a simulated rocket to Mars.  This week, my dad and I take you on a space mission to Huntsville, Alabama, home to the US Space Camp that churned out famous astronauts, hobbyist astronomers, woo-woo astrologers (like myself), and nearly 1 million “cool geeks” who were interested in everything from space exploration to robotics to aviation. So put away all your earthly matters and get ready to blast off right back into the 90s! To make a donation for Space Camp scholarships, visit gospaceeducation.org. Funny things you’ll hear in this episode of our comedy-travel-relationship advice podcast: Impractical tips on getting your kids out of the camper when it’s boom-boom time Why everyone assumes we have sex all the time Why sex on campus is a bad idea almost all the time What role the words like “swallow” and “teeth” have to do with any of this How to bear-proof your mobile pleasure palace and become kid-free Extended notes: This week’s question was sent to us by Bryan of the Wandering Gourmand travel blog. We met Bryan at TBEX in Huntsville Alabama recently, where a fair number of RV’ing families were in attendance. And that got Bryan thinking: How do you squeeze in a little hanky panky when the kids are watching from across the RV? While both of us did a fair amount of RV’ing when we were kids, it’s not part of our current travel repertoire. But when did that ever stop us from offering up our opinion, right? One thing we are (or at least were) pretty good at is (was) finding time to keep the fires of the relationship going, if you know what we mean. Listen to the episode as we offer up some practical -- and rather impractical -- tips on how others might sustain their marital bliss even under the watchful eyes of the wee ones. If you think you want to shove your family in a motorhome and take off for part as of yet unknown, you really should listen to the story told on Season Two of our podcast about one family who did that. It’s not easy. Oddly enough (and somewhat of a surprise to Evo), our relationship started out that way. And here we are 30 years later, still together with plenty of advice handed out on the show on how we made it. Even after a kid, traveling the world together for an entire year, and now living in a foreign country. You’ll gain all the insight when you listen to the show. It probably won’t come as a big surprise if we tell you that communications and technology are a big part of how we manage on the rare occasion when we are apart. The good news is that we all live in the modern world. Great internet connectivity is almost ubiquitous. And failing that, there is teledildonics. Yeah, that’s a thing. Not that we can afford that advanced communication level. Speaking of that... Ask Us Your Question! Season Four of This One Time is driven by listeners like you. Close, physical contact -- cuddling, if you will -- is a biological imperative for human cultures all over the world. A shared bed is a great place to cuddle, a fact that’s not been lost on any of the countries we’ve visited during our travels. With few exceptions, the beds have been comfy, spacious, and private. Well, except for that one time we were on an extended train ride in Vietnam. [Side note: What a great place for a mattress or sleep aid ad, right? But alas, our podcast remains ad free. We really have to step up our promotional game!] That’s the relationship advice we have for our anonymous caller this week: Don’t book a 33 hour trip where cuddling is just not possible, unless you want to shock the three nice little old ladies with whom you’re sharing a birth. Who might report you to the authorities. Which could lead to getting arrested for public indecently. In a foreign country. One your country fought a nasty war in. And lost. Just… don’t. So when booking your next travel plans, make sure both of you are aware of the sleeping arrangements. Right, Sheila? Ask us your question! How to get a postcard from all over the world sent to you every single month Extended notes: Every couple has to deal with one party nitpicking the other. And yes, if flows both ways. But we’d argue that the level of nitpicking ramps up exponentially when you quit your jobs, sell everything, travel the world for a year, and then decide to live abroad, away from everyone and everything from the world you knew as normal. As you might imagine, that puts quite a strain on any relationship, even a marriage that’s lasted 28 years. One of our fans shared a personal story and asked us how we deal with it. Our answer comes in the form of a story of that one time early in our world travels when we visited a museum in Copenhagen. A visit that almost put an end to our relationship. Not good.
