What We Liked While "A Costa Rican Wedding" has its ups and downs, there were definitely standout moments that we appreciated. For starters, the film was a visual postcard for Costa Rica. The beautiful landscapes and scenic views made us want to book a flight immediately. We also found ourselves surprisingly entertained by the physical comedy, especially courtesy of Rhiannon Fish (Emily). Two standout scenes include her hilarious reactions to a tarantula on her shoulder and a slippery tumble down a rain-soaked hill. These moments felt genuine and added a lighthearted touch to the movie. A memorable character that won our hearts was Esteban, the monkey guy. His role in saving the day by finding the lost backpack was both amusing and endearing. Plus, those white-faced 'rally monkeys' added a fun twist. We have to give a nod to Christopher Russell (Ryan). Wendy recently likened him to a budget Aaron O'Connell, but in this movie, he proved his mettle. He and Rhiannon carried the film with their chemistry and elevated performances.

We've seen this story play out one too many times. After a documented history of domestic violence by her partner Daniel Walker, 40-year-old Tyesha Wayne of Sahuarita, Arizona fought back this past August. While he attacked her in their garage, she grabbed a gun, pointed it at him, and asked him to leave her alone. He didn't. Tyesha fatally shot Daniel in self-defense and the courts are calling it premeditated murder, saying Tyesha's previous record would show a history of domestic violence against Daniel. Her previous record? Being strangled by Daniel to the point of unconsciousness only for her to be arrested immediately afterward. It's almost like the system has a vendetta against women…..but that can't be real, can it? Oh, but it seems it can be. Previous episodes of Toxic where we discuss survivors who were arrested and often jailed for defending themselves from their abuser include: Ep. 64—Nikki Addimando was sentenced to 19 years for killing her abusive partner. She's still in jail but is set to get out next year….finally. Ep. 60—Kayla Fassio didn't serve jail time but she was arrested after she called for help after an altercation with her abusive partner. Ep. 55—Rachel Bellesen shot her abusive ex after he attacked her and tried to rape her. She faced life behind bars. Ep. 42—Marissa Alexander was originally sentenced to 20 years in jail after firing a warning shot toward her husband who had attacked and then threatened to kill her.  Ep. 32—Kim Dadou Brown spent 17 years behind bars for killing her abusive partner as he tried to strangle her to death. Ep. 30—Survivor Robin nonfatally shot her abusive partner after he attacked and tried to kill her. She was arrested and he was not. He then went on to abuse his next wife. On Reddit, Paul Sarker decided to answer some questions from MCU fans about how the legal side of things functions.   One fan asked about NDA's and their stipulations. To this question, Sarker delivered the most extensive answer about how these agreements are drawn up and executed. It's a fascinating window into the creative process.   Sarker's answer: "The NDAs are helpful and they frame the discussion, if there is ever a dispute. But the relationship is also important. Leaking something would burn a bridge and be a deal breaker. Plus everything is watermarked so they would be able to trace it to someone. And more importantly, why would you want to eliminate your chance of being in the MCU or television canon? Once someone is cast and under contract, they may be able to disclose their role but that would have to be coordinated with marketing and creative. There is an overall master plan behind all of that stuff. If you breach a contract, in addition to being sued they could terminate it or withhold some pay. Marvel is very protective of confidentiality. They vet everyone and everything. Anyone coming to an office or getting a link to confidential information will have to sign an NDA. On Thursday, reports indicated that Jake Schreier has been tapped to direct an upcoming Thunderbolts movie, with Black Widow's Eric Pearson set to write the script and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige set to produce.   It is unclear at this point who could make up the cast of Thunderbolts, a team that traditionally consists of supervillains and antiheroes going on missions, initially to convince the general public that they are operating as heroes. Sources tell us that Disney is looking to focus on the D23 Expo 2022 as it's the first one since the pandemic and that they want the heavy hitters like Marvel to be there.   Marvel Studios has a lot coming up on their slate. I've been an RN for almost 10 years now, and have worked in a number of different specialties. I currently work in homecare. Aside from nursing, I began my own business in 2019 teaching CPR and other health training classes. During the pandemic I branched out and also began offering premium high quality medical scrubs. Gifted Hands is my new baby! I get so excited when I'm teaching or get a new order. I now truly feel like I'm walking in my purpose! I created my company to normalize the practice of cpr throughout the community, not only for healthcare professionals like myself, but literally for everyone! CPR is needed during Cardiac arrest emergencies, and is a leading cause of death over cancer and other diseases. I know it is so important to have some sort of knowledge and skill related to it, so I feel it's my duty to spread this Knowledge. I also lost my father to cardiac arrest in 2020 so my passion for teaching this subject has gone a little deeper. It has definitely been tough juggling being a mom, still working as an RN full time, while also running 2 businesses, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
