This week, I sat down with Yev Broshevan, co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer at Hacken, a leading blockchain security firm focused on making Web3 a safer, more trustworthy place for everyone. Even better? Yev's birthday is the same day this episode drops - happy birthday, Yev!Yev's story goes way back to her early days as a cybersecurity engineer in Ukraine, where weak institutions and a hacker's curiosity led her deep into the world of Bitcoin back in 2014. Since then, she and her Hacken co-founders have been building a mission-driven business around ethical hacking—using a mindset of creativity and values to secure everything from smart contracts to crypto exchanges. In this episode, we get into:Why the hacker mindset isn't just about code, it's a way of living—and solving problemsHow HackenProof, their bug bounty platform, now has over 45,000 ethical hackers keeping Web3 projects secureWhy smart contract audits are just one layer—operational security and key management matter just as muchHow AI is reshaping both sides of the security equation: as a powerful ally and a new threat vectorWhy Yev's now channeling her hacker brain into biohacking—optimizing health and performance like it's just another system to tuneWe also talk about Hacken's move into the US, how the security landscape has evolved since the early days of crypto, and what the industry still needs to get right to earn back trust. From Web2 to Web3 to Human 2.0, this one's got layers.Connect with Yev Broshevan and Hacken:Yev Broshevan: X/Twitter | LinkedInHacken: X/Twitter | LinkedIn | WebsiteLeave a review and subscribe onApple PodcastsSpotifyMoneyNeverSleeps (website)Email us: info@norioventures.comConnect with Pete Townsend and MoneyNeverSleeps:Pete Townsend: X/Twitter | LinkedIn MoneyNeverSleeps: X/Twitter | LinkedIn | Newsletter

Making a Scene Presents an Interview with YEV!SLAVA UKRAINEYEV's self-titled debut album is a poignant and powerful introduction to the artist's dynamic voice, blending cinematic folk rock, modern blues, vintage pop, and the soulful resonance of his Ukrainian heritage. Each song offers a captivating narrative that weaves haunting melodies and raw emotion into a tapestry of universal themes—hope, loss, resilience, and the search for belonging. YEV's voice is best described as an amalgamation of Roy Orbison's vintage vibrato, the blues folk stylings of Hozier, and Jeff Buckley's soulful croon. http://www.makingascene.org

There are tensions in the community towards seeing the applicability of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In this episode, we explore the nuances of ABA in the field of autism from various perspectives. We sat down with autism parent and BCBA, Yev Veverka from the University of Washington, to discuss her view on ABA and the impression it leaves to people on the spectrum and their families. In particular, she shares the article she published in Spectrum News titled, “Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism: Flawed Application of a Proven Science.” Yev dives deep into ABA reform, the challenges faced by families seeking ABA services, and the need for more individualized and accessible approaches. Plus, we also speak with Netflix's Love on the Spectrum star Dani Bowman to hear about her journey to love and her perspective of ABA from the voice of someone living with autism. Both conversations are meant to provide perspective for those who care about the autistic community and the science of ABA. Join us as we learn more about ABA and its future in the autism space.

Video version of this show is available at https://www.missiondefi.com/daos-as-cooperatives Did you form a DAO without registering an entity? You are likely personally liable if you did. Even if you registered an entity like an LLC for your DAO, you very likely are going to face regulatory compliance issues if you haven't had legal help to navigate. The regulatory picture in the US for DAOs is murky at best, but there is one way to make things potentially clearer and safer for everyone involved. Cooperatives have been around for a very long time and are an excellent match to many of the DAOs that exist today. In this episode attorneys Yev and Jacqueline that are experts in cooperative and crypto regulatory compliance make the case that a cooperative registration in Colorado may be a superior way to setup a DAO. Besides being a strong philosophical match for the purpose of DAOs, they can also provide securities exemptions and more. We get into the how and why of cooperatives. Created by Mari Feher, Hosted by Ania WiktorowiczOn May 31, 2019 four climbers -- Yevgeniy Krasnitskiy, Ruslan Khasbulatov, Vasily Aushev and Kostya "Constantine" Toporov -- started climbing the hardest, most technical route on Mount Rainier in Washington . High winds that tore up their tent and blew away their gear forced them to stop on the Liberty Ridge route. After spending 5 days on the mountain, the group was rescued on June 6th, suffering from hypothermia and severe frost bite. This rescue is personal for so many in our Pacific North West community. Anyone lucky enough to know Yev knows the deep humility, above human strength and kindness he possesses. Come listen to what went wrong, how good decision making lead to perseverance as well as what pitfalls to avoid while making your plans on your next climb.

Today's episode is about really rigorous data based approach to social media advertising. Tev Marusenko, PhD, takes a very academic approach to data collection, integration and management he shares the tactics he's used in his own business endeavours. Key Takeaways [6:07] Max introduces DOCTOR Yev Marusenko, and asks him to talk a bit about himself. [8:59] After getting his PhD, Yev opted for a career change from theoretical academia to marketing and it turns out there are many transversal skills. [13:00] Establishing a brand and then marketing or building the brand by testing? Heroclip had huge growth goals and that required both approaches at once. First, you need branding so: branding strategy sessions! Heroclip is a carabiner, it could have been sold just as a carabiner— mind the competition! — but it already looked different so they spend a great deal of time thinking about what it actually does and how it differs for the customer. Reading branding books, articles, workshops and knowledge sharing. Second comes the testing, integration and data management and that's more of a word by word process of tweaking and iterating. Brand optimization [20:28] Yev explains how he sets up a data collection campaign. Your metrics require variety: you need to test a sizable sample to test (10 taglines for example) and you will need to choose or more measurements (clicks, or shares, or comments, etc.) From there, Yev usually picks the top 10% regardless of performance and moves on to analysis. Which brand assets can you test? [25:45] What decides the brand assets that you can test? There are easier and harder ones to get at and generally, the harder assets to get data for are the ones that make the most difference. Easy (static elements): taglines, headlines, short form copy, images. When dealing with images, you have to consider 2 aspects: 1. The content to the image (logo, text, etc.) 2. Design aspect (border or no border, tilt, etc.) Hard (evolving elements): anything about the customer journey. Where do they go after clicking on your link, the order of the content they view, are they more analytical or emotional… this involves a lot of iteration. [29:00] Max emphasizes the importance of those evolving elements in brand building, typically people associate brand with static elements. Starting out with data testing [30:27] for someone who is new to Facebook ads, how do they integrate this kind of strategy? Don't get too overwhelmed: start with two customer touch points and practice your interpretation skills! Yev and Max discuss an example on testing website page click through and feature responses that answers two questions in one. [38:07] Yev created software that attributes sales to people and figures out how much they're spending with regards to how much you spent to bring them in. Zontracker does 3 things Amazon businesses can use: 1. Tracks the sales in Amazon coming from Facebook ads. 2. Pulls Amazon customer data into Facebook. 3. Optimize for Amazon purchases within Facebook. [47:12] Max signs off and invites listeners to connect with Yev on Facebook and LinkedIn! In Season 2 we switch into 5th Dimensional Conversations. I hope you enjoy this leap! Did you get sold on the “American dream” of success only to realize that being famous, rich or having the biggest house on the street was someone else’s idea of success all along? Maybe you got left with huge debt from college, a home purchase or just “keeping up with the jones.” If so, you are like me and many others and will love this casual conversation with Yev, a Harvard PHD who found that there was more to life than what society, media and mainstream education was discussing. In this conversation you will be taken past the 3rd dimension where we will discuss living consciously, radical openness and how to release the 3rd dimensional programming that most of us received throughout schooling so that you can live life exactly as you desire, making your own rules, your own success. You deserve to be selfish, to have everything you ever dreamed. Having a hard time making tough choices, keeping commitments, or quitting harmful habits? Conflicts at work or at home? Feeling like you are not living up to your full potential? Yev is a character coach and the creator of Six Streams, a system for discovering your purpose and achieving your dreams. He provides the resources you need to make conscious choices and embody who you really are. After graduating with a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University, Yev spent a decade working in the field of National security. In parallel, he received formal training in Integral Coaching, insight meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the Enneagram of personality. He’s performed comedy and storytelling professionally, believing that good comedy requires self-awareness, and self-awareness requires a sense of humor. His mission is to guide you deeper into your life voyage, towards the source of freedom and empowerment. Yev lives in D.C. with my tuxedo cat Winnie and his rescue beagle Moose. From large law firm lawyering to legal coworking to blockchain lawyer, this week's guest, Yev Muchnik, has a really cool perspective on future-forward law practice. Yev makes some great points about how the traditional law practice model isn't working for many attorneys in 2019 and how coworking spaces focused on legal can help solve this issue. Ethics of legal coworking: Many state bar associations have decreed that coworking is ethical for lawyers and law firms to do. Make sure conference rooms are enclosed and bring your own white or blue noise machine to keep conversations private. Blockchain Lawyering: Currently focused on securities and corporate law 'Smart contracts' Engaging in a new practice area and becoming the go-to expert: Meetups Collaboration & 'distributed lawyering' Conferences within that niche Speaking engagements Facebook groups, Slack channels, etc Stay away from being 'salesy' and focus on providing information or being a resource. In this practice area and moving into the legal world in general, clients are looking for tech-savvy lawyers. Yev is using security and technology to be an asset for her clients, instead of a burden. MyCase, case management software HelloSign, to be a remote office Signal, a secure phone app for texting and phone calls Zoom, for video conferencing with clients Yev works with Citizn Company which uses smart contracts to help customers become more aware of what they are signing. They discuss the ethics of AI and smart contract readers. Technology makes us more efficient, accountable, and provide better service for clients. As Yev says, technology = superpowers. Legal consumers are beginning to have expectations that their lawyers will be technologically aware. Yev's mission of Access To Justice with the Colorado Bar Association and how unbundled services will allow clients better access to legal services. Which means there is also a place in the market for lawyers who are willing to unbundle their services and gain more market share. Social media creates unique challenges to everyone today, particularly parents. The value of sharing with others others and connecting to distant friends and family is enormous. The local music scene is one of those ever-evolving things, I suppose. Let's face it, I was pretty upset when I found out Jon Knight (this week's guest) was leaving Whoa!Tiger. Of course, I was also upset when Mad Noonan left Del Zell, Yev Baburin left Tonos Triad, and Matt Hesser left Indianapolis. Okay, I accept that I can't keep things the way they are, and it's probably not the healthiest thing for the local music scene if I did. Noonan and Yev have gone on to create some really cool music, free of the constraints of the band environment. And Hesser? Well, he's probably getting a much better tan than he would have gotten up here ... mostly owing to the fact that the giant hole in the ozone layer is located directly over his Florida home.Oh yeah, but I was talking about Jon Knight. Certainly Jon left his influence on Whoa!Tiger during his tenure. One need only listen to their music both with and without him to pick out what were most-likely his contributions to that band's overall sound. Or can you? Certainly the material he has been producing since his departure bears about as much resemblance to Whoa!Tiger music as ... er ... ummm ... as something that doesn't resemble Whoa!Tiger music at all ... (he also does a much better Dennis Miller pastiche than me). The point being, sometimes baby bird has to get out of the nest and spread his wings and maybe try out a few of those influences -- take the kinds of risks that you can't take when you've got band mates relying on you to stay a certain course and not make too many waves. It's not a bad thing really, and in Jon's case, it's yielded some interesting results that really haven't been heard around this scene before. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing where it all leads. Links Referenced in the Show: Coming Soon.
