Diego Ruiz (born 1980, Colombia) a.k.a DFRA is a DJ and music producer based in Buenos Aires Argentina. During the years 2015-2021 he studied Music and Composition at the UCA (Universidad Católica Argentina), with a focus on classical and modern compositional genres and from an early age he acquired a taste for Hip Hop of the 80's and 90's, gospel music, Soul, R&B and Disco. He currently fuses Jazz, Soul, Neo Soul and Funk with House music and is characterized by a strong influence of House and Detroit sounds of the 1990s and 2000s. In his productions two facets are reflected, on the one hand the musicality of Jazz and Soul, fused with electronic elements and on the other hand some sounds more focused on the characteristic chords of Detroit and Chicago, more aggressive bass lines and 100% electronic percussion. During his career he has had the possibility of playing in several cities in Colombia, Argentina, Germany, France and Spain. He has released music on labels such as Groovin (IT), Hudd Traxx (UK), Mate (ES) among others. Today he is the owner of Silver Walker, a label whose music is inspired by all his musical roots and where he embodies the beautiful fusion of Jazz with electronic music. The project he is currently developing is DFRA Experience Jazz Band, where he works with Jazz musicians from the Argentine scene. He has a new release on Berlin-based label Ascension on Wax, and continues its deep, jazz-inflected trajectory with A Quiet Storm EP, arriving June on 12” vinyl and digital formats (Cat No: AOW005). When Love International made its pilgrimage to Rainbow Disco Club, it wasn't simply a case of a Croatian institution touching down in Asia – it was two kindred spirits recognising themselves in each other. Born in Tokyo in 2010, Rainbow Disco Club has always operated under a single guiding concept: “Beyond Space and Time” – a commitment to authentic underground music that transcends genre, geography and trend. Alongside these club nights in Tokyo the annual event as you'll likely know, takes place in the Japanese countryside of Shizuoka's Izu Peninsula/ Love International, meanwhile, as many of you will also likely know, draws a loyal family of returning artists, crews and ravers to the shores of Tisno each summer for what amounts to a celebration of sun, music and community. Long enough that neither of us is entirely sure when it started – somewhere in the blur of the 90s, in rooms that probably no longer exist, with people we're still lucky enough to call friends. Watching what he's built since then – and more importantly, how he's built it, with the same unguarded enthusiasm he had at the very beginning – has been one of the genuine pleasures of growing up in and around this ‘scene' together. Because the thread has always been consistent. Whether as a DJ, programmer, promoter, or raver, there are few dancefloors he hasn't graced, and fewer still where he hasn't left some kind of mark. Since cutting his teeth in those 90s rooms, he's built an inimitable sound that moves freely between house, techno, breaks and electro, EBM, wonky chuggers and disco-infused oddities – often all within the same set. The story of Star Trek's officially licensed 1994 stage production continues this week on The Trek Files as actor Adrian Cohen returns to share even more memories from Star Trek: The Lost Voyage of the Enterprise. Using a rare 1995 review from Total Theatre Magazine as the document of the week, Adrian and Larry Nemecek dig deeper into the ambitious London production that somehow brought transporters, Klingons, time travel, and a full-scale Enterprise bridge to the live stage — all during the height of 1990s Trek mania. This time, Adrian shares stories from the chaotic opening night when the lighting system catastrophically crashed just hours before curtain, forcing the audience to wait until 9:30 PM for a performance that somehow still became a hit with fans. He also reflects on the enormous pressure of portraying Mr. Spock, the audience reaction to seeing the crew materialize live on stage, and the bittersweet realization that the production's planned Broadway future would never quite materialize. Along the way, the conversation uncovers surprising connections to Adrian's later move to America, the early career of producer John Gore, and how one strange theatrical experiment became an almost-forgotten chapter of Star Trek history. MARKY P Marky P is a Music Loving Gadget Freak and started playing with Sound Master and QBase on his Amiga at the Age off 11. Always interested in the funky Vibe and waveforms he linked his basic sampler to a mixer and by the age of 14 was doing mashups to his friend and family with samples mixed in over the top. So an early start for Marky and by the age of 16 was a DJ on Cruise FM in 1984. Continuing through in various different Genres till 89/90 then retired to normal life with the Occasional Mashup and Party set for various people. Influences were from the hip hop era like Kurtis Blow , DJ Cool Herc ,Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel , Funkadelic ,James Brown, Stetsasonic ,Dr Dre (NWA) Soul Sonic Force (Africa Bambaata) and the visionaries of that era.So an early Hip Hop Influence for Marky P and its now all intertwined with Funk Soul Boogie and New school Cool jams bringing flavours across 5 decades..
