A survivor of abuse in state care is heartbroken after her long-held dream of buying a gypsy wagon to travel around in ran into a wall of bureaucracy. As soon as Robyn Dandy received compensation for torture at the Lake Alice child and adolescent unit in the 1970s she bought a wagon, fulfilling a promise she made to her grandson before he died in a house fire. Now, state housing provider Kainga Ora has said the wagon breaks its rules and must go. Jimmy Ellingham reports.

Following his return to Ireland he was appointed Marketing/Publicity Director of The Abbey Theatre where he worked from 1985 to 1993. He then returned to Galway where he ran his own communications and independent film production company, Parzival Productions. From October 2002 to November 2007 he was Managing Director of Galway Arts Centre and the Cúirt International Festival of Literature. He was a member of the board of Theatre Forum, the representative group for Irish arts organisations, from 2005-2007. He continues to produce and manage creative projects across multiple artforms and in 2013 completed a three-year training programme to become a teacher of the Alexander Technique. He produced eleven films between 1998 and 2023. It's been a few months since wildfires devastated Los Angeles, and some people are just now starting the long process of repairing and rebuilding their homes. But mixed into the soot and ash can be some hidden dangers, including lead, asbestos, arsenic and lithium. These toxic materials were used to build those homes and got blown across LA. Scientists from the California Institute of Technology have been investigating this invisible danger, testing more than 50 homes for these contaminants. And one of those homes belongs to the lead scientist behind the study. Reporter Caroline Champlin has more.  And our series on Californians and resilience continues with twenty-five-year-old Brittianna Robinson. She experienced sexual abuse and trafficking as a child. Robinson credits her faith in God and support from mentors and her church for helping her find a path forward. Are Hollywood's youngest stars in any less danger now than those of past eras? We pose this question to Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman's Claudia Lamb. At age 11 she was cast as Mary's daughter Heather Hartman in the groundbreaking Norman Lear soap parody. Claudia offers a front row view to her traumatic life as a 70s child star, at the mercy of her abusive parents and insight into how she gnawed through their shackles to pursue a radio journalism career and become a champion for today's child actors.Claudia was a gourmet meal ticket to her criminally exploitative parents who squandered all her money as she cranked out hundreds of commercials and print ads as a toddler who was shoved into the spotlight and dragged by her angry and brutal mother to audition after audition.Claudia candidly conveys the extent of the violence and terror inflicted by her narcissistically cruel mother as Claudia's labor, throughout her childhood supported the entire family while alienating her five brothers.Her talent and intelligence branded her as a go-to for commercial producers, where, as a stand-by, she frequently replaced the principal.
