Healthy Living With Angela Busby - Your Health, Nutrition and Wellness Resource

Does your kid experience MEGA meltdowns? Do their emotions seem all over the place - Up one minute down the next? Do they seem more sensitive to things? Lights are too bright, music too loud, smells too strong, tags annoying, sock seams send them crying to their room just as you're trying to get out the door? This can be a sign of SPD or sensory processing difficulties. Or perhaps they are sensory seeking and they are very rough, they touch everything trailing their hand behind them as they walk, they climb on every piece of furniture, they're loud and intense! They may even eat things that aren't food on purpose!  In this 2 part series we learn what our 8 main senses are and how signals can be interrupted and therefore cause difficulties in the way our childrens perceive and interact with their environment. We can learn ways to help support our little ones when they find their surroundings overwhelming or when they are seeking out stimuli. This is an area that is not widely spoken about but I am passionate to bring our attention to it as there is much we can do to mitigate the effects and help support those healthy neural pathways develop! Early intervention is key! So find out more by listening in. _______________________________________________________________________ UPDATE* Angela is now accepting new clients, book an appointment by heading to www.busbynaturopathics.com.au  and use the book now button or by clicking here Busby Naturopathics - Book appointment (cliniko.com)   Thanks for listening. This is a little prequel to a coming 2 part series on Sensory Processing Difficulties .. something I am becoming very passionate about sharing with every parent I can.. as it can explain some of the recurring behaviours that may have baffled or exhausted you. Whether it is constant emotional dysreglation, or being overly excited, rough or agreesive through to being scared, anxious, withdrawn.. these can all be symptoms of sesnory processing difficulties. Theres also the more obvious ones of sensativily to sounds, lights, touch, smells or tastes.. or perhaps seeking these sensory inputs out!!  Unfortunately most professionals, paediatritians, OTs, Psychologists, are not educated to understand the signs and symptoms of this disorder and look for it in our child that present with these troubles. They may be diagnosed with a variety of other conditions while this still lies under the surface not being treated.  When we get in and intervene early we can create fantastic outcomes with dramatic improvements in all the above mentioned areas. So if this sounds like it could apply to you or your family please listen to this trailer and the coming 2 episodes to empower yourself to identify and treat sensory difficulties in yourself or you child!   ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE* Angela is now offering in clinic appointments as well as online, book an appointment by heading to www.busbynaturopathics.com.au  and use the book now button or by clicking here Busby Naturopathics - Book appointment (cliniko.com)   Thanks for listening. They also delve into the differences in communication styles and perspectives, and the importance of embracing who we are. The conversation highlights the need to navigate personal dynamics and self-reflection in order to foster understanding and growth.   CO-HOST Jen Perry, MSEd, MA, LPC   HIGHLIGHTS Takeaways   ·         Unmasking involves recognizing and embracing our authentic selves, even if it brings up discomfort or challenges in relationships. ·         Differences in communication styles and perspectives can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts, but it's important to approach these differences with curiosity and compassion. ·         Challenging the narratives we have about ourselves and others can help us break free from limiting beliefs and foster healthier relationships. ·         Navigating personal dynamics requires open communication, self-reflection, and a willingness to honor our own needs while respecting the autonomy of others. More about unmasking Unmasking involves revealing one's authentic self and needs in relationships. It can bring up feelings of selfishness or discomfort when prioritizing personal authenticity. On today's show we talk about how to easily start removing those emotional triggers that can send us into behaviors we later regret. During the holidays and in being women who run a business and have families, holidays are especially stressful times. Eva has a method that she calls: Stop Drop Check and in this episode of Think Grow Love Radio podcast, she explains how it works. Through her BEAM LiFE coaching program Eva shows her clients how to heal from the core by learning how to release internal blocks. Eva's story is a compelling one, as she talks about how these techniques she developed over the years, has made huge changes in her life and in the lives of her clients. Eva Angvert Harren, a Certified Integral Coach and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She is an Integral Coach specializing in Stress Management and Behavioral Addictions. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), she has training in body awareness, nervous system release, and trauma healing — which is a wonderful addition to coaching when restoring the body and mind back to balance. The Stop, Drop, Check technique is useful when our emotional triggers occur. She's created a unique formula from different healing modalities that will integrate your Balance, Energy, Attitude and Motion. She teaches you how to connect fully with your internal guidance system, bringing you relief from your troubled past—all without having to relive your story. MY VISIT WITH EVA Eva teaches effective and transformational  tools that help you find relief from a troubling past. Without having to re-live your story, which I personally think is huge,  you learn skills to understand and manage feelings, thoughts, emotions, and body-sensations.  She guides you through exercises that teach you how to release tension, discomfort, pain, and negative emotions that often lead to obsessive and impulsive behaviors and thought patterns. I recently visited Eva for a session. I had no idea what to expect or pre-conceived notions. Eva asked me what I wanted to get out of the session and I really wasn't quite sure. Eva and I talked for awhile and very gently guided the conversation towards focusing on an issue that was uncomfortable for me. During the interview we talk more about my session with her and how who methods have made some big strides in handling the reactive emotional triggers and gaining more confidence to be loud and proud in the world... like being a host on radio podcasts and live-video training shows. In addition, Eva has had great success with parents and children with Asbergers and Autisim. She partners with Danny of Ashbergers Experts and leads live workshops and offers 1 to1 counseling.
