While Intel's 20 billion dollar investment in two new semiconductor factories in Central Ohio is a huge win for the Buckeye state; it is also a huge win for America. Listen now, to hear from President Biden, and US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, who explain why will not only help ease the chip shortage that has caused manufacturing supply chain disruptions, but will also help protect our national security. You will also hear from Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Ohio State University President, Christina Johnson, and more, about how this massive new project will unfold over the next three years, and about the renewed prosperity and hope it can bring to a state that has seen thousands of good paying, high-tech manufacturing jobs moved to places like China and Korea over the past 40 years. If Intel's overall vision is fulfilled; they say their initial $20 billion dollar investment could swell to more than $100 billion dollars over the next decade. But, that depends to a large degree, on new federal legislation that would provide $52 billion dollars to the semiconductor industry, in the form of direct funding and tax incentives. That, officials say, could potentially spur other companies to follow suit in "re-shoring" manufacturing jobs that can help rebuild the US economy not from the top down, as has been the focus since the Reagan era; but instead; from the bottom up, by rebuilding the fortunes of American workers.

This week, one of my favourite topics: the history of swimwear! My guest is Christina Johnson, Associate Curator at the FIDM Museum at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in California. Christina is co-curator of the excellent exhibition, ‘Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960' along with FIDM Museum Curator Kevin Jones, and is the co-author of the accompanying publication. The traveling show ‘Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960' was organised by the American Federation of Arts and the FIDM Museum, and is the first exhibition to explore the evolution of women's sporting attire in western fashion from 1800 to 1960. It features 480 historic objects from the collection of the FIDM Museum. So stay tuned as we discuss the history of swimwear and chat through some of the ensembles in the exhibition, from 18th century sea bathing to the seaside becoming a fashionable space in the mid 19th century, and then the Modernist designs of the 1920s. You can head to my Instagram, @AmberButchart, to see some of the pieces discussed. We also consider California swim culture, swimming in hot mountain springs in the Sequoia National Forest, and why we should most definitely bring back the beach cape….You can follow FIDM Museum on Instagram, and find out more about the ‘Sporting Fashion' touring exhibition here, the 2024 show at FIDM here, and get the fantastic catalogue here. CHRISTINA JOHNSON BIO It's been said that whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. If that is true, Christina Johnson has superhuman strength. A teen mom born to a teenage mother, Johnson refused to be a statistic. The Charlotte, NC native relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1997 with her two young daughters in pursuit of a creative career, but as fate would have it, she met and fell in love with burgeoning rapper/singer CeeLo (formerly of NBC's The Voice). Sharing mutual passion for family life and artistic expression, Johnson served as CeeLo's muse in several of his music videos; the couple married in 2000 and welcomed a beautiful and healthy son in 2001. Johnson now a mother of three and a newly-wed, decides to adorn an additional hat and becomes the owner of Inner Piece Design (IPD), a progressive interior design and consulting firm. Johnson's company was known for its minimalistic approach to design, by combining natural and organic materials with modern pieces that visually harmonize with high-end residential properties and commercial spaces. IPD's clientele included superstar entertainers such as CeeLo, Ludacris and Young Jeezy, as well as athletes, urbanites and business professionals. Johnson's work has been showcased on the television show, MTV, and in between the pages of popular magazines such as Ebony, Vibe, Atlanta Peach and Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles where she was featured in the Top 10 Designers Under 40 issue. In 2005, Johnson divorced from her husband of five years, which ironically left her seeking inner peace, in addition to confronting deeply hidden issues she had buried since childhood. Seeking solace in her service first attitude; she connected with a domestic violence organization where her public speaking artistry took flight. As a mother, her experience for cultivating young children and young adults was a natural maternal trait, so speaking to some of Atlanta's youth at some of the area schools on the subject of verbal and physical abuse was another avenue for her to educate. In 2014, she became one of the stars of VH1's Atlanta Exes. Johnson valued the sisterhood bond she developed with her enterprising cast mates, but also used the opportunity to shed light on being a survivor of domestic violence, and Graves' disease, an auto immune disorder that commonly affects the thyroid gland. Diagnosed in 2009, she has undergone three surgeries over the course of a few years but remained optimistic and has since overcome the condition. This visionary mogul is now a Global Life Coach! Johnson does one-on-one coaching with women all over the world. ‘The Quench Quest' is a new group coaching program that Johnson has added to her mentoring curriculum. She's guiding women on a path of learning how to forgive themselves and their past. She's also teaching them how to love themselves again, or in some cases for the very first time. Her goal is to show them ways to authentically enjoy their lives. Having overcome years of setbacks and battles, Johnson feels that she has done the work, is a walking example of what she teaches, and is finally living her purpose; what some may consider the new ‘American Dream'. As a devoted mother, businesswoman, spiritual guru and philanthropist, Christina Johnson may not view herself as a modern-day superwoman… but if the cape fits… MAY as well WEAR it and OWN it. -- Blessings, Christina Johnson --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/stroketv/message

By definition the term ‘diet' means the types of foods (and drinks) which are habitually consumed. In the 21st century ‘ diet' also lends itself to the foods which someone restricts themselves from eating. In our opinion, everyone has the right to choose which foods that do and do not enter their bodies. Although that is a basic human right, truth be told food discrimination is alive and well. We’ve both had patients and clients who live in bigger bodies, have better metabolic panels that we do, and are discriminated against because of foods they eat. In the words of our guest, Christina Johnson, MS, RDN, LDN, our patients and clients don’t “owe us health” nor do they have to justify why they choose to eat the foods they do. The TITT Talks Podcast - Modern Women Living in a Mama World
Just like you, we want to raise the next generation to be responsible little citizens of the world. In light of all the complexities of today’s diverse families and current culture awareness, how do we teach our kids to be kind and respectful of everyone else? How do we begin the discussion about celebrating all identities and heritages that make us unique and stronger together? We brought in the founders of a non-profit named Raising Compassionate Leaders to really bring expertise to the conversation. Christina Johnson and Denica Gordon-Mandel are two of the four sisters who founded this non-profit to help people of all ages start to unpack these difficult conversations to tackle bite-sized pieces we can all handle. It all starts with a willingness to be better. To learn more about RCL and to play a bigger role in this non-profit, please visit https://www.rcleaders.com/ It has always been our mission to connect with other modern womxn through the lens of our experience. This is our first topic that dives into the many dimensions of raising compassionate little human beings, so we hope you find this episode as inspiring as we did!____________________________________________ABOUT TITT TALKS TITT Talks was “conceived” in January of 2020 during one of TITT’s many friend/family (“framily”) get-togethers. In conversation, it came to light that there was a lack of representation of womxn like TITT in, among other forms of media, the podcast world. In particular, there was no podcast that TITT could subscribe to that would enable them to feel seen, heard, or understood as modern Asian Pacific American working mothers. The womxn of TITT Talks knew that this void was one they could fill by sharing their voices and experiences through their casual conversations, which were already taking place on a routine basis. Thank you for the positive feedback we have received since our launch in early June 2020. We are delighted to hear that we are bringing you content that you can finally relate to as mothers, professionals, millennials, and Asian Pacific Americans.____________________________________________ CONNECT WITH US Sign up for our NEWSLETTER – TITT Talks Tea IG: titt_talks FACEBOOK: TITT Talks E-MAIL: TITTtalks@gmail.com YOUTUBE: TITT Talks Podcast ____________________________________________ WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU What topics would you like to hear discussed on the show? -018- Join me as I interview author, advocate, life coach, and momcologist Christina Johnson. Her son, David, was diagnosed with childhood cancer (High-Risk Neuroblastoma) due to circumstances, discussed in the episode, she felt alone. She used her journal, now a book, to cope and release her emotions. She also knew she had to stand up for her son, as you do your child because, before diagnosis, no one would listen. She went to the emergency room, pediatricians, and finally saw a pediatric oncologist to get the care David needed. She not only explains her story but also gives tips to parents on how to manage through this horrible time, diagnosis of pediatric cancer, treatment of cancer, and life after treatment. Cancer does not have a stopping point, and she gets into details about what this means. So please tune in, I think you can get a lot out of this episode on coping skills and also identifying with a fellow parent. For Show Notes Please Visit:www.livingwithscanxiety.org/shownotes

It has often been said that whatever doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. If that is true, Christina Johnson has superhuman strength. A teen mom, divorcee of rapper/singer CeeLo (formerly of NBC’s The Voice), and living with an autoimmune disorder, Christina has beat all odds. In this episode, Christina and I discuss how, despite years of setbacks and battles, she’s been able to remain positive on purpose. Join her circle at www.christinasjohnson.com. Christina Johnson was writing her own story way before she set her sights on Atlanta. This industry mogul gives little known insight into witnessing domestic abuse as a child, becoming a teen mother, falling in love with Ceelo Green, starting an interior design company, co-founding Butterfly EFX, defying death and empowering women through "Amazing Me Amazing Life". You didn't get this perspective from her feature role on VH-1's Atlanta Exes. Thank You for sharing a part of your story Christina. Website: www.ChristinaSjohnson.com Follow: @innerPiece About Christina Johnson: It has often been said that whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. If that is true, Christina Johnson has superhuman strength. A teen mom born to a teenage mother, Johnson refused to be a statistic. The Charlotte, NC native relocated to Atlanta, GA in 1997 with her two young daughters in pursuit of a creative career, but as fate would have it, she met and fell in love with burgeoning rapper/singer Cee-Lo (formerly of NBC's The Voice). Sharing mutual passions for family life and artistic expression, Johnson served as Cee-Lo's muse in several of his music videos, the couple married in 2000 and welcomed son Kingston O'Keefe Callaway in 2001. Although Johnson was a new wife and raising children including a newborn, she also gave birth to InnerPiece Designs (IPD), a progressive interior design and consultancy firm. Johnson's company is known for its minimalistic approach to design by combining natural and organic materials with modern pieces that visually harmonize with the high-end residential properties and commercial spaces they work with. IPD's global clientele extends from superstar entertainers such as Cee-Lo, Ludacris and Young Jeezy, to athletes, urbanites and business professionals. Johnson's work has appeared on national TV programming like MTV, as well as in between the pages of Ebony, VIBE, Atlanta Peach and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles where she was featured in the Top 10 Under 40 issue. Johnson divorced in 2005, which ironically left her seeking inner peace, as well as confronting deeply hidden issues she had buried since childhood. Johnson sought solace in her service-first attitude and got involved with a domestic violence organization where she began speaking to youth at Atlanta area schools on the subjects of dating and domestic violence, something she continues to do. As one of the stars of VH1's “Atlanta Exes”, Johnson values the sisterhood bond she's developed with her enterprising cast mates, but she also hopes to shed light on Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid gland. Diagnosed in 2009, Johnson has undergone 3 surgeries in as many years but remains optimistic and active in spite of her condition. The visionary mogul is the co-founder of beauty brand Butterfly EFX alongside celebrity makeup artist Toni Acey that will launch later this year. Johnson and Acey leveraged their affinity for fashion and style by developing a highly pigmented palette of lipsticks and lip-glosses that are not only richly saturated in color, but also beautifully packaged. The duo will be introducing a charitable foundation called Lipstick Therapy that's committed to helping women cultivate a positive self-image through art and educational programs, in addition to providing complimentary grooming sessions. Having overcome years of setbacks and battles, Johnson feels that she is finally living her purpose and what some may consider the new American dream. As a devoted mother, businesswoman, spiritual guru and philanthropist, Christina Johnson may not view herself as a modern day superwoman, but if the cape fits…might as well wear it and own it. From Struggle to Success, Learn How to Reset Your Life. Today we are ecstatic to welcome VH1 celebrity, designer, and life coach and superhero mom, Christina Johnson to the Fitlandia Podcast! After seeing the Starting Over TODAY segment on the Today Show, Christa knew she had to share Christina’s health journey and resilience to overcome extreme obstacles with her Fitlandia listeners. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Christina characterizes her upbringing as being “turbulent,” being a teen mom born to a teen mom, struggling with being abandoned by her father and growing up with a misconstrued definition of love. After having two girls by the age of 20, Christina moved to Atlanta and worked briefly in the nursing field. She left that job to work for Steve Madden and soon after, met and fell in love with the artist CeeLo Green. During their five-year marriage, they shared their mutual love for artistic expressions, launching Christina in a successful interior design career and consulting company, InnerPiece Designs (IPD). During this time, Christina experienced weight gain and later was diagnosed with Graves disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid gland. This is when, she explains, “the reset started” and she began her weight loss journey. Amidst her divorce Christina had a defining moment as she sat in the parking lot of a McDonalds wolfing down more junk food than she ever had eaten before. Breaking down in tears Christina told herself, “I don’t know what you’re hungry for Christina, but it’s not this. Something is going on internally.” While still living with her ex-husband, and trying to save face for their children, Christina knew she was crumbling on the inside and had to make some changes for herself. To push her be consistent and disciplined, Christina called her trainer and soon dropped 40 pounds. Moving into her new home she started yoga and dug into loving herself from the inside. Her message to woman is to make sure you make the time to love yourself, forgive yourself, forgive your past and the mistakes you’ve made. She says, “The weight isn’t just about the fat our body is holding, it could be about past issues we’re holding onto.” During her near life-threatening struggle with Graves disease, Christina relied on the promises of faith and with the power of gratitude and affirmations, her health actually shifted. By tapping into her inner wisdom and forgiving others and herself for past doings she exclaims, “I’ve learned to turn my pain into compassion.” This is what drives Christina and allows her to help others during the process. When asked about the show, “Atlanta's Exes”, Christina was extremely hesitant to participate because as a hands-on mama bear, she didn’t want the opinions or actions of others to manipulate her family dynamic. Instead, she used the show as fuel for inspiring other woman and daughters who may be suffering from domestic violence, struggling with an unhealthy habit or battling a disease. Christina’s experiences and how she worked to overcome her challenges has helped many women conquer their own fears and obstacles. Today, Christina has learned exactly how to listen to her body and fuels it with an 80% plant-based diet but enjoys a well-deserved celebratory meal or glass of wine on occasion or at events. When doing so, Christina makes sure she rises early the following day so she can hydrate and begin to work towards her goals again and doesn’t get in a physiological craving spiral. Her extreme gratitude for her body and its healing abilities motivates Christina to always keep herself well rested, hydrated and property fueled. If you struggle with getting out of bed early and starting your day off productively, make sure to include this rising early Mind Zoning® into your daily routine! Hungry for the Reset? Here are Christina’s tips for the person who still hasn’t experience their “defining moment” but is itching for change: Do the work. Look into your past and face the hardships so you can move forward. “If you still have a pulse, you have a purpose.” If you want something, believe you are enough to achieve it. Forgive yourself and know we’ve all made mistakes. Being vulnerable is necessary for change. Start with small daily changes - affirmations, gratitude journal, reading a great book. Get uncomfortable and step out of patterns of self-loathing or shutting down emotionally. Vulnerability makes you beautiful You Are Enough! Take a look at your life and what changes you can do to make yourself and the world better. “It’s so worth it.” “Let go of your always and become something new” If you’re ready to reset your life, make sure to connect with Christina for personalized life coaching, videos and retreats through her website, or follow her on Instagram @christinajohnson_ and @InnerPiece on Twitter!
