This episode is LOADED with news, notes, background history, fun anecdotes, a deep dive into the ENTIRE WWF roster leading into 87, and yes plenty of SOUNDBITES for your listening pleasure! Some of the topics discussed on this episode of the Grenade include...VINCE MCMAHON'S PILLAGING OF THE MONTREAL TERRITORY - The  WWF swoops in to take the remaining top stars of the Montreal territory including the Rougeau Brothers, Rick Martel, and Dino Bravo!THE HOT FEUDS OF 1986 - We discuss at length the hottest feuds of 1986 that carry over into the new year, including PIPER VS. Jack Tunney would have to be blind not to see the shenanigans caused by Davis, and the worst is yet to come!ANDRE THE GIANT MAKES HIS TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO THE WWF! - We look at Andre's acromegaly, his "suspension" from the WWF, his stint in New Japan following WrestleMania 2, his return to the WWF as THE GIANT MACHINE, his time away to film The Princess Bride, and Andre's return to the company following a questionable hearing in which Andre wasn't a part of... but Bobby Heenan was!!! While uncovering the full story of what took place aboard the U.S. Air Flight in 1987, I also uncovered several stories dating back to the 1970s including one of Neidhart leaping off a 4th story balcony with a Fire Extinguisher strapped to his back and swinging from 4 bed sheets tied together like Tarzan into a lower level apartment's plate glass window. Unbelievable! From there we look at Vince McMahon fronting Neidhart the money (and the attorney) to sue the Airlines, a case that Neidhart won (over $300,000 in 1991 money) and then refused to pay McMahon back! We discuss the temporary paralyzing back injury of Dynamite, the surgery that followed, and the ramifications that would plague him for the remainder of his wrestling career.WRESTLEMANIA III NEWS - We look at the initial plans to have WrestleMania 3 in three different locations yet again, what caused the decision to be nixed, and some of Dave Meltzer's guesses as to the matches on the big show, involving the likes of Mr. T teaming with Roddy Piper, a babyface return of Big John Studd, and Bruno Sammartino stepping into the ring to team with VINCE MCMAHON!!!WWF ON FOX - The fledgling Fox Broadcasting Company acquires the WWF on many of their larger city FOX affiliates, prompting all local affiliates to go with the WWF should they want wrestling programs on their station!HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD - Acting fever is in the air, all the way back in the mid-1980s. It's The Legend vs. The Legend Killer! Join wrestling superfans Alex Doriot and Travis White on their journey through every Undertaker PPV match as they cover one of the most important battles in The Dead Man's career as he tries to take The Streak to 13-0 at WrestleMania 21 against a young Randy Orton. This is the rare match that not only changes the careers of both performers, but also the course of the WWE itself. On this supersized episode we explain just why it's such an influential and important match that redefined WrestleMania and what The Streak would come to mean. Don't worry - it's not all serious talk either as we continue to poke fun at all the ridiculous stuff that hasn't aged well over the last 14 years. And speaking of not aging well, that means we're covering the returns of Jake The Snake and Cowboy Bob Orton, an out-of-nowhere assault on Stacy Keibler, a bizarre interlude with Carlito, a Tombstone for a Frenchman, the final burials for Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak, the classic WrestleMania Goes Hollywood trailers, and so much more. Apologies for missing last week, we've had a lot going on at Undercard Headquarters. This episode will cover the May 25, 1987 episode of Prime Time Wrestling.  This episode starts off and we see Bobby Heenan's action figure, doll as they called it, with an improvised neck brace to reflect his actual condition. The first match of the show is Paul Roma and Jim Powers teaming up to face Cowboy Bob Orton and Don Muraco. Not much incredible in the match, but we get an anatomy lesson from Gorilla  Monsoon. Next we get a segment featuring Superstar Billy Graham talking about his hip injury, upcoming surgery, and him saying he intends to return to the WWF. We see Outback Jack face off against Frenchy Martin from Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens. Certainly not much to this match. Next up is Sam Houston's WWF debut in Madison Square Garden. Bobby Heenan talks about King Kong Bundy's match at WrestleMania 3 and he makes a comment about the midget wrestlers that must be heard to be believed. Gene Okerlund interviews Brutus Beefcake. The Rougeau Brothers squash the team of Tiger Chung Lee and Jimmy Jack Funk. Nikolai Volkoff faces Corporal Kirschner in a match where the highlight is Bobby Heenan talking about buying Ken Patera a retirement home. Finally, we get the feature match where Butch Reed goes against Tito Santana. Overall, this is a very good match for WWF television  in this era even with the odd finish.  The highlight of the week is the announcement that Hulk Hogan will be on the show next week.

The fellas are proud to have Jake "The Snake" Roberts return to the show for another amazing conversation. Jake recounts his hard living on the road, what took him to sobriety, and the value of sharing his message for others. Jake even has some concern for stars like Conor McGregor and Johnny Manziel. Chris and Jake discuss his "Dirty Details" tour and end the conversation chatting about "Cowboy" Bob Orton and how Jake hope's to see him.  After The Snake slithers away, the guys introduce a new contributor, intern, Tommy Moslander. Tommy proceeds to win "Dog's on Film" sitting in for Dr. Ed, then quickly loses any respect he earned with an awkward chair dismount. The guys finish up with fair or foul.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/we-are-live-with-chris-denman/message
