Maybe it's in a relationship, in communication, in getting live on camera, in speaking your story, in doing the hard thing in your company, in your business, in your friendship, or maybe it's doing the hard thing in your faith. I know boldness is a part of every single component of life, and so does today's amazing guest, Amy Debrucque. Amy has a book, actually, a cover in book with her mama, which is pretty rad. Guess Who's Center Stage in Business Today? HR!That's right, Human Resources, one of the most neglected aspects of running a business is taking over as the main focus for many employers. Our episode today with Amy Crews, of Crews HR Consulting tells why. Here we are (almost) post-pandemic and what is happening with our small business employees? They're leaving; in droves. It's called "The Great Reshuffle". People are leaving their current firms and going to places where they think they'll be happier and have more job satisfaction. Some were planning to leave before the pandemic, but stayed on. Others are leaving now, because of how the pandemic was handled internally and are not happy with the way things turned out. If you haven't read about this, google it and you will find several articles. The hard truth is, if you didn't spend time building employee loyalty during the pandemic, it could be too late. Some of your employees may be seeking greener pastures.Amy Crews has been in the field of HR for 25 years and she's spent a great deal of that time making high level HR decisions for large companies; many of them manufacturing firms. She's also worked for smaller companies, and been an entrepreneur herself, helping her husband run their family business. Amy says the old way of doing things when it comes to recruitment and retention has got to go. "Out with the old, in with the new" she said. Candidates have more opportunities today and many can afford to be picky. You must sell them on coming to your firm as much as they need to sell you on themselves. Where the focus for employers was on being sold, now the shoe's on the other foot. What to do about recruiting the best and brightest? Amy recommends adopting a mindset focusing on company Culture, and building that up through programs that foster loyalty and teamwork. She said adopting a formal Mentorship program and Apprenticeship program can be two great initiatives for you to recruit and retain the best candidates. She also said that we must be swift in our communication with candidates when they apply. Not like the old days, when resumes and applications would sit in a file until someone had interest in going through them. (I can tell you that was me back in the day!) With all the job opportunities out there, candidates need good reasons to apply with your company, so give them what they're looking for. Fulfilling work and a place where their voice matters. For more on this important topic, listen to the episode now.Find Amy here or by emailing CrewsHRconsulting@gmail.com and find Julie here.Thank you to our Sponsors: Baker Tilly & Sunbelt Business Advisors

I’m so thrilled Amy Young could join us today to talk about her money story, and all the ways our unconscious beliefs about money and debt affect women. Women must stop glorifying ‘busy’ and Amy shares how important it is to listen to your inner knowing before a fast-pace life causes you to crash and burn. So much of the burnout women experience today is because of so much ‘doing’ and not enough ‘being’, and Amy dives into the importance of undoing in order to live a healthier and happier life. _______________ Amy's website: amyyoungcoaching.com Find Amy on Instagram: @amyyoungco Find Amy on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxbz8CzmZFjgKHJ3sbUoa1g _______________ **Get The Hell Out Of Debt book release is this summer! Welcome to the What's Next! podcast with Tiffani Bova. This week I am thrilled to welcome Amy Edmondson to the What’s Next! Podcast. Amy is an American scholar of leadership, teaming, and organizational learning who is currently the Novartis Professor of Leadership at the Harvard Business School. She has been recognized by the bi-annual Thinkers50 global ranking of management thinkers since 2011, and most recently was ranked #3 in 2019; she also received the organization’s Breakthrough Idea Award in 2019 and Talent Award in 2017. She studies teaming, psychological safety, and organizational learning, and her articles have been published in numerous academic and management outlets, including Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, and California Management Review. Her most recent book, The Fearless Organization: Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation and Growth, offers a practical guide for organizations serious about success in the modern economy and has been translated into 11 languages. I am beyond thrilled to be speaking with Amy Edmondson on the What’s Next! Podcast! THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR… leaders, team members, those afraid to use their voice, and those who are afraid of not having all the answers! TODAY’S MAIN MESSAGE… We live in a world where expertise is increasingly narrower and deeper than ever before, and Amy wants you to know that it is okay not to know ALL the answers. In fact, NOBODY knows all the answers! The world is changing so fast that even if you knew everything “today,” it’s a given you wouldn’t know everything that there was to know “tomorrow.” So, according to Amy, you might as well get comfortable with not knowing and learn to turn it into something positive as opposed to shameful. Being comfortable with not knowing and being open to constantly learning is more critical than ever before in a world that is suddenly, drastically different and requiring more flexibility than ever before. To that end, Amy is tackling what she calls “psychological safety.” It’s okay to speak up–it’s necessary–and it’s important to ask for help. There should be a conviction in you that it is okay to speak up and that your voice is welcome. It is incumbent upon great teams and great leaders to create an environment where it is safe, encouraged, and rewarded to take the risk and speak up–even when and especially when it isn’t “good news.” If you listen people will speak! WHAT I LOVE MOST… There should be a conviction in you that it is okay to speak up and that your voice is welcome. Guest Amy Peller, Dartmouth '96, could always be counted on to find the fun in a moment, whether meeting people on the way to the snowboarding lessons or performing magic in the campus pub. Throughout her career in consumer marketing and brand management, she tried to always keep that sense of fun and joy. Some employers, such as Mattel (where she worked on products from water guns to Matchbox cars), made it easy. Others, who wanted her to move too far from family or deal with layoffs, not so much. Luckily, the skills she built at all of them allowed her to envision her own path, an entrepreneurial venture that some may say is for the dogs—a mobile dog grooming company. In this episode, find out from Amy how sometimes teaching dogs new tricks doesn’t require forgetting old ones…on ROADS TAKEN...with Leslie Jennings Rowley About This Episode's GuestAmy Peller is founder and president of Wag & Shine, a mobile dog grooming company in the greater New York metropolitan area. Have you ever had a moment? A second in time that, you know without a shadow of a doubt, was an experience with Jesus? A time that you hold so tightly to when the storms get heavy, or the dark shadows of life try to bear down on this present light that you've experienced? Maybe you experienced Him in the midst of the dark, and that's what makes Him all the more tangible. Today's guest is Amy Klutinoty from Your Path His Plan. She's a podcaster, a writer, a wife, and she's an evangelizer and a pastor in her own right. I was so amazed to hear her storyline, the depths of things and places that I have mildly traveled, but not to the same extent. God showed up for her during a dream. She tells us about this dream, and through the details of this dream, I'm living it out with her. I can sense Him and His very being and His very nature amid this dream that happened to her over a decade ago. And yet it's still so present in her life, and so I pray wherever this episode finds you, that it just engulfs you, that it embraces you, that it creates hope within you. He exists in such a grandiose way, and no matter how hard-headed you are, He will show up on your path in His own unique way to pull you back like the prodigal son, into the place that you've always been destined to go. And He will use those hardships, those difficult spaces and places, and even character traits for good. Guest Bio My name is Amy Klutinoty, and everything you will ever need to know about me can be found in Acts 20:24. I'll tell you why that is... I grew up in church and functioned out of man-made religion rather than a Christ-centered relationship. I was sexually abused as a child and learned early on that the word “trust” didn't exist in my world. At 14 years old, I rebelled and ran with sin as far as it could take me. The destination? Rock bottom. At 23 I was a high school dropout, raging alcoholic and frequent drug-abuser of illegal narcotics. I found myself in and out of jail, bound to probation, slept around to gain “love”, and bounced from one abusive relationship to another. One night, I had a dream of Jesus that completely changed the entire direction of my life. A few months later I laid everything down to follow Him. Today, I live in Nashville, TN with my husband Adam, and we both have dedicated our lives to pointing others to Jesus. I'm a firm believer that wherever you are; that's your ministry field, and I specifically enjoy speaking and writing. My purpose is to be a voice, calling out to the world with one simple plea, “BE READY-THE KING IS COMING!” My passion is to encourage others to be bold enough to do the same. This episode of #PoisedforExit features Amy Quale, Co-founder and owner of Wise Ink Creative Publishing in Minneapolis. Amy shared how she and her partner, Dara Beevus built Wise Ink from the ground up, starting with a blog for writers and working their way towards publishing 60 - 70 books per year! She got her entrepreneurial bug from her parents who taught her that risk pays off when you do it right. The sacrifices they had to make when she was growing up have helped her continue to believe in her dream, build her empire and move forward, even when things seem to be moving backward. She called that the pendulum swing of business ownership and I love the analogy!Aside from publishing, Dara and Amy have launched several key initiatives to foster the growth of writers among various minorities. Their ambitions have led them to launching Fellowships and Scholarships in these categories. Her advice to our entrepreneurial listeners is to accept the natural flow of business's ups and downs and not to panic, as long as you stay focused on your goals and values. It's no secret that we're all feeling the strain of being far from our churches over the last six months, and the same has gone for our pastors. So how can our pastors care for us and how can we care for them? That's today's hot topic. Welcome to Happy & Holy, the podcast about creating biblical community with intimacy and integrity wherever you find yourself in location or in life. I'm your host, Kate Boyd, and I'm so glad you've joined us.My guest today to talk all about pastoral care -- for us and for our pastors -- is Amy Ickes. After working for 5 different churches in 5 different denominations, Amy decided it was time to work for the whole Church. She provides coaching for women in ministry and consulting services for churches. She specializes in helping men and women on staff thrive together, launching new ministries, and writing discipleship and leadership curriculum. When she's not working, she loves to be outside in the summer, and curled up on the couch with a quilt, a cat, and a cup of coffee in the winter.Find Amy at:Website: https://www.aymiejoi.org/Social Media: @AymieJoiGrab Amy's ebook Caring Well in COVID: A Pastor's Guide here. Imagine your business like a soccer field. Amy Schweizer, the founder of @TinyTroopsSoccer, changed sides, pivoted, and re-aligned to head to the goal. It's another 15-ish Minute Coffee Chat with Selena, @thehauoli, and Anna, @iamnomadabout. About Amy: In March 2020, Amy Schweizer shut down all locations of her Tiny Troops Soccer program, a developmental soccer program for children ages 12 months to 5 years. It was a huge blow when after a few weeks, operations could not resume. Instead of sitting and waiting for the world to change, Amy took a look at her plan and made a huge pivot into offering virtual soccer skill sessions for children ages 3 to 9. This military spouse and mother of 3 boys were not going to just let things happen to her business and livelihood. A huge advocate for military spouse employment, military children, and an active lifestyle she used her resources, and in just two weeks opened a virtual soccer session option to fill a need for her customers. “The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say ‘No’ to almost everything.” — Warren Buffett Working in the service industry is incredibly rewarding— we get to help our clients feel rejuvenated, nurtured, and great about themselves. But it can also cause some blurred vision about when to say ‘Yes’ and when to say ‘No’. In this Episode, Amy Flanders, Licensed Master Esthetician based in Las Vegas, NV, talks about how implementing policies in her studio spa has improved her professionalism and the quality of her clientele, and has greatly decreased mishaps and resentment. Policies help her feel in control of what goes on in her spa environment, and they help her clients know exactly what to expect, which has increased their trust in her.
