In this episode I'm calling time on a sneaky little trap that keeps many of we introverts small: The Authenticity Trap. Yes, I said it. You see, while being true to yourself is vital, too often authenticity gets misused as an excuse to dodge discomfort or avoid change. And that, dear listener, is not flourishing. It is hiding in plain sight. Let's unpack what authenticity truly means (thank you, psychology), how to spot when you're using it as a shield, and what to do instead. Expect a little sass, a lot of love, and a gentle-but-firm nudge out of the comfort zone. Because growth might be awkward at first, but it's also glorious. ** Key Points ** Authenticity ≠ Excuse Growth feels awkward, then natural Know your values #Authenticity #Introverts #FlourishingIntroverts *** Resources *** Visit https://hub.flourishingintroverts.com/resourcesp for tools and resources mentioned during the podcast.

She recommends ditching the elevator pitch in favor of meaningful pleasantries and relatable anecdotes: "Bring who you are to what you do. People connect with who you are. What you do is secondary." Move from ‘Who You Know' to ‘Who Knows What You Know' J. Kelly Hoey emphasizes the era of digital presence: your online activity builds relationships around the clock, even while you sleep. Kelly advises, “Every human interaction is a chance to build a relationship... People may be looking up your digital presence any time.” Your expertise and reputation are shaped as much by your network as by your contributions, so curate your professional story online intentionally. Build Community, Not Just a Rolodex David Spinks draws a sharp line between networking and community-building, advocating for a shift in perspective: “The best way to actually build your network is to build community.” Rather than trying to know everyone, focus on connecting others and fostering environments of trust, belonging, and shared purpose. Introverts Can Be Master Networkers Matthew Pollard debunks the myth that extroversion is a prerequisite for networking success. His system is built on preparation, empathy, and curiosity—shifting the conversation from self-promotion to mission-driven dialogue: “The number one rule of networking is it's not about you... Focus on the change you want to see, not just what you do for money.” Call-to-Action Your One-Week Challenge: Reach out to someone in your network you haven't connected with in a while. Whether it's a past colleague, mentor, or someone you admire, send them a thoughtful, agenda-free message to check in and reconnect. You never know what doors that conversation might open. Andrew and Rhen are back with a fun episode this week where they discuss and debunk all kinds of fundraising myths. Rhen comes armed with nearly 20 fundraising myths that have been misleading nonprofits for years, and Andrew doesn't hold back in unpacks each one with hard truths and real-world wisdom. A very small sample of the fundraising myths discussed includes:Skip hiring a fundraiser - people will automatically give to organizations doing good work. (Spoiler: they won't!)Donors hate being contacted by fundraisers. (Often, the opposite is true!)Organizations need to host big events to make big money. (Small moves, big impact!)A single big donor can fund everything! (Recipe for disaster.)Introverts cannot be successful fundraisers. (Some of the best are quiet powerhouses.) Do you think Andrew got it wrong on any of these? We want to hear your take! Drop us a line at podcast@petrusdevelopment.com and join the debate.

190 I made you a special short quiz to determine the level of dysregulation in your unique nervous system. (This episode goes hand in hand with episode 189, so I highly recommend listening to it first, or after you take the quiz.)Why should you take it? Because as highly sensitive people (and really, as just regular human beings on this planet in these modern times), our nervous systems are often chronically dysregulated. And this has a major impact in a not-so-great way on our lives in general and especially on our relationships. So you need to understand if you have a nervous system that is dysregulated chronically or that tends to get easily dysregulated.Unfortunately this can happen even more easily for us than non-HSPs. When we are dysregulated, we react more strongly than we normally would, in one way or another, and that leads to much more drama, much more struggle in our relationships, and a lot less clear, effective communication, a lot less getting through to our spouses, and being able to really hear each other, a lot less open-heartedness and connection, and a lot less feeling the mutual supportiveness and sense of being on the same team.So there really are many different ways that nervous system dysregulation can show up to the detriment of your relationship and to the detriment of your life in general. And you do want to know if it is happening for you so that you can make the necessary changes. Because that's the really good news: you have so much sway over your nervous system regulation or dysregulation. It just can take a little bit of learning and attention to it.Dive in now with pen and paper in hand.SHOW NOTES:Take the Dysregualtion quiz here in written format.Learn all about Foundations of Emotional Well-Being Course; The Root Of A Better Relationship here. Apparently, if you talk to your colleagues or don't hate everyone, you are not a 'real' introvert. Who knew? Social media, it seems, is full of experts; except that they do not have the lived experience of reality of introversion, nor took the time to sit with one to know enough. I explore the strange world of online introvert spaces: the myths, the melodrama, the memes, and the mean-spirited nonsense dressed up as personality, much of it far from what and who we introverts really are. I talk about my own reason behind limiting my online time, yet stay visible without dancing and pointing at things on reels. If social media drains you, confuses you, or just makes you question your entire personality, you are neither broken nor alone, maybe just an introvert with a working moral compass. Let's dive right in! ** Key Points ** Intention, not attention, that matters Social Media's addictive Social Engineering Intentionality in reclaiming our time #SocialMediaAsAnIntrovert #FlourishingIntroverts #Introverts *** Resources *** Visit https://hub.flourishingintroverts.com/resourcesp for tools and resources mentioned during the podcast.
Full show notes and links at: tashcorbin.com/477If you've seen the title of today's episode and know me, you might be a little confused. Yes, this is an episode all about introvert-friendly social media strategies, and yes, it's from me, Tash Corbin—the self-confessed raging extrovert. So you might be wondering: “Tash, how could you possibly teach me introvert-friendly ways to use social media? How do you even know what's introvert-friendly if you're not one of us?”Here's the thing—what I'm sharing isn't just “Tash-approved.” These are strategies that are introvert-approved, too, and have helped so many of my clients and listeners who are introverts themselves. It's actually one of the most common things I hear: that people hold back from being consistent on social media because it's just too much. It can feel overwhelming, like too many eyes on you, too much “peopling,” as I hear again and again. But let's be real: in a lot of ways, the internet was built by introverts for introverts. And showing up online can be way more manageable than we think, especially when we set it up in a way that genuinely lights us up (and doesn't drain us). That's what I want to unpack today, step-by-step. Let's dive into what actually makes a social media strategy feel good (and productive!) if you're an introvert.Let's get started.Keep reading and grab the links at: tashcorbin.com/477Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join me for my free workshop on 18th June - Resonate: Messaging that ignites action-takers.Register now at tashcorbin.com/resonate
