Dryden is in charge of the video aspect of their business while Emily focuses on the photography side. On August 10, 2017, police executed a search warrant at a home in San Antonio, TX and found nearly three pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a bathroom. Upon this discovery, police arrested 45-year-old Louie Garcia and two other individuals. It turns out that the search warrant stemmed from the word of a confidential informant, and nothing else. Further, upon their arrest, Louie and his co-defendants urged that they had been framed. Shortly before the police arrived, a man had stopped at the house with a young girl. They asked to use the bathroom, and then left. When the police did arrive, the officers immediately went up to the bathroom, where they found the drugs. Their claims fell on deaf ears, and Louie was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Greg Glod and Clayton English talk to Louie Garcia and Dayna Jones, Louie's attorney. Pod Crashing Episode 200 With Clayton English And Greg Glod From War On Drugs In 1971, President Nixon declared drug abuse 'public enemy number one'- the first salvo in America's War on Drugs. Fifty years later, with drug overdoses in the US at a record high, are we any closer to 'victory'? The War on Drugs has a more profound effect on society than any of us really understands. It is embedded in the fabric of our culture and permeates our daily lives in visible and invisible ways -- perhaps the most daunting pandemic we face. Lava for Good's The War on Drugs podcast, co-hosted by comedian Clayton English and Greg Glod, senior criminal justice fellow at Americans for Prosperity examines the true cost of five decades of policy, policing, and persecution. Special guests, including diverse subject matter experts, peel back the surface of this complicated period of US history, showing the ways the War on Drugs has fueled mass incarceration, exacerbated addiction and hampered economic progress. By shining a spotlight on how our communities have crumbled under the weight of this so-called 'war,' we can explore the politicization of public health policy, systemic racism and classism in the legislation and administration of criminal law, and how decriminalization and other alternatives could bring the fruitless 'war' to an end.

Why did I want to talk with Clayton English and Greg Glod? They're the hosts of The War on Drugs Podcast. Clayton English is an award-winning comedian who took home the win on Last Comic Standing, and Greg Glod, a Criminal Justice Fellow for Americans for Prosperity. We talk about everything from addiction being a mental health issue and not a judicial issue, the racial stereotypes associated with certain illegal drugs, and the criminal penalties as well. As well we discuss the personal reasons why they wanted to do the podcast, plus we find a way to have a lot of laughs. Lava for Good's The War on Drugs examines the actual cost of five decades of policy, policing, and persecution. The War on Drugs was never really about drugs; it was about control, and the series aims to expose this, shining a spotlight on how this so-called “war” impacts every aspect of our lives in ways both seen and unseen. The podcast will explore the politicization of public health policy; systemic racism and classism in the legislation and administration of criminal law; and how decriminalization and other alternatives could bring this fruitless “war” to an end. July 11, 2022 ~ David Glod, Founder & President of Tour Edge Golf, talks with Guy Gordon about his support of Angel's Place and the rise of his golf club company.
Tour Edge Announces the Launch of Wingman® 700 Series Putters Featuring Three New MOI-based DesignsToday, Tour Edge is announcing the launch of their new Exotics Wingman 700 Series Putters featuring three new modern mini-mallet designs and six total hosel options. The brand-new shapes offer cascading MOI (Moment of Inertia) properties matching the size of the Wingman putter head, providing maximum stability and optimal roll for every player type. The three innovative designs provide optimized alignment optics on the wildly effective Lock-On technology alignment system, improved acoustics, and a softer feel. Interchangeable sole weights on the heel and toe are featured in every model. “The original Wingman putters enjoyed a cult-like success, and over the past two years, we've been improving upon that success in every way possible,” said Tour Edge President and chief designer David Glod. “The feedback we received was that the Lock-On Alignment and the extreme stability of the putters were truly revolutionary for golfers. We put our focus on expanding the series to fit more player preferences in the shaping and to really upgrade the look, sound and feel of the putters in a big way.” “The result of our two-year revamp is six new putter models that represent some of the highest MOI putters on the market, and that are absolutely going to help you reduce the number of putts you are taking in a round,” added Glod. The Wingman 700 Series putters will be available for purchase worldwide on August 1 and will carry a retail price of $199.99. Models 701 and 702 – SUPER MAX MOIThe 701 (Mid Toe-Hang) and 702 (Face Balance) models produce extreme MOI. in a modern mallet design that forces the face square to the swing path for a truer roll due to the extreme perimeter weighted wings featured on the Wingman 701 and 702 designs. This larger footprint provides an extremely high resistance to twisting with one of the highest MOI ratings of any putter available on the market.Models 703 and 704 – MAX MOI The 703 (Mid Toe-Hang) and 704 (Face Balance) models remove the perimeter wings featured on the Super Max MOI models and move the interchangeable weights more face forward. This provides a gradual step down in MOI for those wanting a more compact, smaller footprint while still providing massive MOI properties. With the weights directly behind the face, this design creates more face control. MODELS 705 and 706 – HIGH MOI/MINI-MALLET

The fictional comic character Borat Sagdiyev has finally been adopted as a cultural ambassador for Kazakhstan, in spite resisting the embrace of the mustachioed reporter for years. The central Asian country's tourism board has used the catchphrase "very nice" as a slogan for an advertising campaign. However, it has taken over a decade for Kazakhstan to warm to the films. The creation of UK comic Sacha Baron Cohen, Kazakhstan initially threatened the actor with legal action over Borat. The fictional character from the former Soviet republic played on the general lack of awareness surrounding the country to dupe celebrities into interviews. In 2006 the original "Moviefilm" was banned from Kazakhstan's cinemas.Titled "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," Baron Cohen's portrayal of the TV documentarian was not flattering. Many Kazakhs felt they were the butt of a joke.14 years on, the comic has raised awareness for the country, if not in the way the national tourism board would have hoped. Few people have not heard of either Borat, or the Republic of Kazakhstan. The latest advert, which was released the same week as the Borat sequel, finally claims the catchphrase as its own."How can you describe a place this surprising in just two words? As a wise man one said, "Very nice!" proclaims the advert."Kazakhstan's nature is very nice. Its food is very nice. And its people, despite Borat's jokes to the contrary, are some of the nicest in the world," said Kairat Sadvakassov, deputy chairman of Kazakh Tourism in a statement. Not everyone is happy, though.Amazon, which is the latest film's distributor, was petitioned by 100,000 people to cancel the film."Why is our small nation fair game for public ridicule?" asked an open letter to Amazon, following the release of the trailer. "They completely desecrate and humiliate Kazakhstan and the dignity of the Kazakh nation."Humilliated: Villagers from the Romanian town of Glod felt exploited by the film. Photo / ScreenshotThe satirical film draws on racist and sexist prejudices which the film surreptitiously exposes from unwitting interviewees. However, the fake Kazakh journalist does not paint his adopted country in a flattering light.Joking about rape and incest and at one point claiming that the country boasted the "cleanest prostitutes in the world" led many Kazakhs to feel insulted. Most of the original film was not even made in the country.Residents of the Romanian slum village of Glod which was a stand-in location for Kazakhstan said they felt "humiliated" after seeing themselves depicted in the film. The BBC reported villagers were paid around 3 euros each for appearing in the film. Many residents of the town, which had no running water, felt they were exploited by the cameras. While the experience of seeing themselves portrayed in this way was not "very nice", Kazakhstan has noted that the outcome of the films have been positive. In 2012 the Kazakh foreign minister reported that tourism numbers had increased 10 fold since the first Borat film.By: Thomas Bywater

Come along as we journey with members of the Guild of Trespassers in an excursion around some of the Disc's geography. We learn about the basic similarities between Roundworld and Discworld geography thanks to the assistance of Dr. Pedanta of Brazeneck University. He also provides us ample food for thought about Discworld-Roundworld analogues; legendary/fantastic, historical, and not-really-any-era-in particular examples are shared by the good Doctor. Next week's show will be a special Hogswatch episode of the PortalCheck out the most happenin' place on the ‘net, The Portal's Discord server (Friends of the Discworld portal.) Ok that may be a slight exaggeration. But it is definitely happenin'. Recent posts from Gnome-land include a panoramic photo of the Portal's research desk, and a candid shot of Ivy helping with production this morning. Ivy was slacking, and may have bribed Ivy to help, but she did a fine job.Last week's answer to the quote challenge was Color of Magic. These week's quote is “We haven't even practiced together properly,” said Imp. “We'll practice as we go along,” said Glod. Welcome to the world of professional musicianship. As usual, no cats, turtles, or professors of Cruel and Egregious Geography were harmed in the making of this episode.Chelum mobile.

Rok 2006, Belgia.

Mike & Billy discuss the results of the 2009 British Open through round 2. Headquartered in the suburbs of Chicago, Tour Edge was founded in 1985 by David Glod, a former golf pro at Village Links Golf Club in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. David as a young entrepreneur truly believed there was an opportunity in the golfing industry to provide a high quality product at an affordable price. In his mind there was no reason for the trend in inflating prices that were overcoming the market. David's goal was to change the consumer's perception of value and quality in golf clubs. He designed his first club in 1987 and never looked back. While constantly paying attention to both product design and quality, several new products were developed, including the Fiber-Sonic iron, the industry's first heel weighted club. Since then, many new and innovative products have been designed. Like Callaway and the Big Bertha, Adams and the Tight Lies, the Tour Edge claim to fame is Bazooka titanium woods. Benefiting from the success of the Bazooka titanium woods and irons, Tour Edge Golf is one of the fastest growing golf manufacturer's in the country. Offering exceptional pricing and superior performance, Tour Edge Clubs give golfers just what they need.Doubling sales every year since inception, Glod's original vision allowed Tour Edge to carve out a niche as a worldwide manufacturer of premium quality products that are sold at a reasonable price. As the reputation of Tour Edge grew regionally, by 1990 there was a need to organize a sales and marketing program to further the company's success. Around this time, David's brother Gordon Glod, now vice president, joined the team. He recognized the need for a club maker that could provide reliable service and custom clubs in a timely manner. Gordon actively pursued many new markets and helped open doors for the new product line.According to David, "By 1992 demand had increased immensely and Anthony Herb was hired as production manager. Now vice president of operations, Anthony brought six years of experience and a well rounded knowledge of the industry to Tour Edge. His ideas for a more efficient means of production were well received and quickly instituted. Since his arrival, Anthony has set an industry standard for consistency of product quality and timely delivery.Commanding strong Midwest sales, Gordon realized the need for a national distribution strategy. In 1993, Andy Silis was hired to head up the company's national sales campaign. Andy's ten years of golf sales experience and familiarity with accounts across the country put Tour Edge on the map nationally. His industry knowledge and ability to position Tour Edge products helped drive the company sales and opened the door for national and international distribution. The final piece of the puzzle was put into place in 1995 when Tour Edge hired Jay Hubbard to spearhead the company's marketing and advertising strategy. Hubbard, a veteran marketer with seven years experience, quickly stepped up to the plate and established public relations and advertising programs to support that national sales effort and help build the brand. By 1996, the Tour Edge team had catapulted the company into Golf Pro Magazine's ranking of the top 40 equipment manufacturers.Since that time, the national media, word-of-mouth, and strong retail sales have created a new best-selling brand. According to Andy Silis, national sales manager, "At one of the best golf shops in America, Tour Edge irons are on average the #1 selling iron above the best-known brands in the industry. In addition, Tour Edge metal woods are on average the #2 best selling woods. We have come a long way and I am proud to be part of it."Many new employees have joined the Tour Edge team over the years, each person filling a critical need, but all with the same goals in mind: commitment to quality, devotion to customer service, and dedication to innovation. David Glod has built his company around these goals and has made a pledge to adhere to them. With that in mind, consumers can expect the same high quality product and exceptional service that was first instituted in 1985. www.touredge.comSharon Ohr, General Manager of Sundale CC in Bakersfield, California calls into GTR to discuss the Bakersfield Open.Click here for information on Golf-A-Palooza 2009 with Mike and Billy!Avila Beach Golf Resort - www.avilabeachresort.com Blacklake Golf Resort - www.blacklake.comInn at Avila Beach - www.avilabeachca.comAvila LaFonda Hotel - www.avilalafondahotel.comGolfland Warehouse - www.golflandwarehouse.comSlickstix - www.slickstix.comFor more information on Golf Talk Radio with Mike & Billy visit www.golftalkradio.com and visit www.centralcoasttoday.com for Golf Talk TV with Mike & Billy.
