This is a very 'sexy' topic, or we at least think so. How do you get great Search Engine Optimization (SEO) without paying for it. Let's face it, if you are just starting out you just can't afford it. It's cost prohibitive for your desired search terms or queries. We talk about some great workarounds to help you get there. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a general term that covers several techniques related to online marketing. SEO refers to making a website more visible in search results. It is the act of increasing both the quality and quantity of site visitors and the display of your image via non-paid, also known as organic web crawler results. Understanding web crawlers and human search behavior are necessary for effective website optimization. Successful SEO attracts visitors and web crawlers to a website's pages. In other words, it's a hybrid of technical writing and public relations. On January 1, 1991, Sergey Brin and Larry Page introduced the word SEO, which was later defined as "search engine optimization." SEO is an excellent approach to improving the quality of a website and making it easier for customers to explore. Why SEO is importantIf you run a website or blog, you'll want it to appear on the first page of Google's search results. You can get to the top of search engine results using SEO tactics. Search engine optimization is critical because:In search engine results pages (SERPS), most users click on one of the top five links to explore a website further. Getting your website to the first page of search results is essential if you want to boost the number of people visiting your site or buying from your online shop.SEO is more than simply indexing a website's pages; good SEO practices can enhance the user experience and make a site easier to navigate for the end user.Online indexes are trusted sources of information for clients, and having a presence in high-ranking positions for relevant keywords is an excellent way to gain their confidence. You may utilize SEO to help your site grow in the eyes of the general public. Your site will be advertised on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites by people who find your site using search engines like Google or Yahoo. Why startups need SEOSEO gives startup consumer behavior dataSEO may help new companies learn more about their prospective customers since they don't know who they are at the beginning of a company. It is possible to use search engine optimization tools to acquire this information, which may be used to develop a better website focused on attracting customers who make a difference.SEO increases both traffic and sales.Great SEO may boost traffic, and as a result, your conversion rate and revenue will rise. Instead of focusing on other advertising methods, enhancing your site's SEO will provide more excellent results. Choosing the perfect keyword method and creating unique, high-quality content will bring your website the right quantity of visitors.SEO boosts search engine rankings. One of the primary reasons you should work on SEO is to get your site to rank on the first page of Google searches since research indicates that most people only look at the sites listed on the first page of Google and disregard the pages after that. SEO is essential if you want to attract more prospective customers to your website.SEO increases the worth of a brand.A startup must create a brand image, and effective SEO may assist you. Positioning high will guarantee that your prospective customers get more confident in your concept and talk about it, increasing your natural traffic.Web optimization assists in creating a highly positioned, ideal, simple, and accessible site with high-quality content; as a result, your customers will trust the website, increasing the worth of your brand.SEO is organicAdverti

Are you afraid that you are going to have to be salesy and social? Does the word “Marketing” make you want to crawl under your treatment table? YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! Most of us don't come by sales, marketing, networking and being overall entrepreneurial naturally. Especially introverts! This is mostly because historically when we talk about buying something we are also conversely talking about being “sold” to. And that conjures up visions of car salesmen chasing us around car lots. Today’s co-host is Tom Hirst, a longtime freelancer, WordPress developer, mentor, author, and creator. Tom breaks down his outlook on SEO and why landing pages are your best weapon for lead generation. Like most entrepreneurs, Tom realized at a young age that working for someone else would never fulfill him. Luckily he’s found success as a full-time freelancer and has a few lessons to share about his path to financial freedom. He credits his accomplishments to a focus on business rather than a blind love for coding. And he reminds us that experimentation is key to creating a website that works. In this episode, Tom talks about his process for driving new and qualified leads, how to discover killer keywords, what most people miss when building a great website, and why there’s more to success than SEO.“What you’ve got to think is, the person, the prospect, the lead, are coming in and seeing that page, they’re landing on that page, and a lot of the time, they’re not really going off that page. So if you’ve got one page with one specific focus, it doesn’t really matter what the other pages look like, per se.” ~ @tom_hirstMain Takeaways A service-specific landing page is the key to generating leads, and many freelancers miss that when caught up in SEO technicalities. SEO is only one piece of the discovery puzzle. When you pivot, there’s no need to create an entirely new website. Just take your existing site and build out a new landing page that calls out the benefits of your new service. There’s no exact science to discovering great keywords. Sometimes you just have to experiment with different landing pages that are optimized for different content and keywords. Always put contact information on the same page as trust signals. This creates a frictionless experience for users. In other words, it doesn’t leave them searching for ways to find you. You have to focus on the business behind your craft to get ahead. What would change for you if you viewed your SEO strategy as a transformational change instead of just data-driven analytics? In today’s episode, I’m sharing my thoughts on how SEO fits into our #DoBetterDigital strategy. Search engine optimization is about more than traffic, keywords, and backlinks - though those things are important. Great SEO is part of a holistic marketing practice. It's not enough to tell great stories, or develop a great product, or really care about your customers. We need all of those elements to create a sustainable marketing strategy. We even need SEO. Because like each of those elements, SEO done right puts people first. We must stop viewing SEO as tweaks and hacks that generate short-term traffic and sales. Instead, let’s see it as a dedicated practice that requires long-term strategy. Our relationship with our customers ebbs and flows as we experience growth and change on both sides. A great SEO strategy helps us get a clearer picture of that relationship. And that picture helps us to become better business leaders, better digital influencers, and better people. Great SEO helps us #DoBetterDigital. So how exactly do we go from analyzing data to putting people first with SEO? Join me in today’s episode to find out. Listen now. In episode 43 of Small Stage, Big Impact we discuss: [5:22] Why the transactional part of marketing seems taboo to many of us, but is actually essential [8:21] What your SEO cycles can teach you about your place as a digital influencer [9:03] How SEO is an important part of a holistic marketing plan with several important benefits [11:38] How great SEO requires you to put people first, the cornerstone of #DoBetterDigital [13:09] Why SEO has shifted too far toward the transactional, and what we can do about it Resources mentioned by Renia in the episode: Leave a review on iTunes Follow LoreniaC on Instagram Don’t miss an episode of season 4 of Small Stage, Big Impact

DEBUNK SEO MYTHS AND LEARN PROPER SEO WITH LAURENT BOURRELLY & DIXON JONES
I'm proud to call myself a Search Engine Hacker. I never had the financial need to use Black Hat SEO in its most aggressive form, but I don't care much for Google Guidelines either. SEO by the Sea saved me countless hours of research. Being able to communicate with Bill, mostly through comments on his blog or Twitter, has been an insanely valuable resource. Bill Slawski helped me acknowledge the stupid things I said. His SEO blog also led me to find new clues to complete my quest to give Google what it wants. His contribution to my knowledge about the craft of SEO is not small. Today, I'm honored to invite Bill Slawski from SEO by the Sea. In this 2 hours discussion, we get to know Bill, then we move onto his favorite Search Engine and Search Engine Optimization conspiracy theories. There is a lot to pick up from Bill's mindset. He defines what a great SEO expert is made of : never giving up. Great minds are always inspiring. Moreover, when such a great mind is as cool as Bill, be ready to learn some great tips. Don't look for short term tips & tricks. Try to emulate how Bill approaches a problem and tries to solve it. ----------- Laurent's Stuff : http://www.topicalmesh.com/ http://www.frenchtouchseo.com/ https://rank4win.com/ https://twitter.com/laurentbourelly ----------- Bill's Stuff : https://twitter.com/bill_slawski http://www.seobythesea.com/ https://gofishdigital.com/
What are the eCommerce platforms that are out there? There are quite a few, but the major players are Big Commerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, and magento.com Big Commerce Pro's - Advanced reporting to track sales, follow trends and increase AOV. API available, built in. Great SEO features and capabilities. No transaction fees, even if you use a 3rd party. Con's - If you need help from support, it is difficult. User feedback about their CMS is that it is difficult to use, so probably not the most user-friendly to upload blogs or content pieces if you are looking to do that. No mobile app. Shopify Pro's - Provides a complete package where a beginner can set up their store and start selling in minutes. Great customer service. Fast web load time, that Google loves for your customers. The SEO is great for Shopify, you have the ability to give Google a lot of information about your product and services to ensure search rankings. Apps, apps, apps. There are a ton of 3rd party apps to help you scale your business. Con's - Want something completely custom, you will need a Shopify expert. It can take a little bit to get used to Shopify specific jargon that isn't really used elsewhere. Cost. Depending on what kind of store you want, you could be paying up to $79 per month for using their platform alone, not including transaction fees. WooCommerce Pro's - The largest eCommerce platform by % in use today. It is mainly used as a free plugin with Wordpress, which is also a large percentage of the world's website. (Some stats show almost 30% of the internet is powered by Wordpress) Con's - For all the reasons it is a pro, it can also be a con. WooCommerce is a plugin for Wordpress, so unless you have or want a Wordpress website, you can't use WooCommerce. WooCommerce. If you are struggling to figure out Wordpress it may not be a good fit to learn a completely different platform for only eCommerce. If you want a very robust site, you will need to hire a specific developer for WooCommerce, which may be costly. Squarespace Pro's - Templated designs that are sassy. Like beautiful. It's an all-in-one-platform. Meaning it isn't like Wordpress where you have to now learn WooCommerce. Your hosting and security is all handled by Squarespace. If you have a domain, that's all you need, your subscription covers hosting too! Con's - The site looks great, but that doesn't mean people are going to buy. The site layout isn't built for sales, it's built to look good, there is a difference. As far as being found online, your SEO efforts are very limited to what is possible. It's technically eCommerce because you can sell online, but the ability for you to offer a more robust site is lacking. It's very limited with function and features. Magento Pro's - It's open source, free and extremely flexible. Con's - Doesn't provide a hosted solution. You have to purchase hosting and be a medium to advanced developer to be able to create your store. Overall feedback If you want a simple, easy to use more basic store, Squarespace is probably the route to go. If you are looking for that middle of the road solution that is dependable and built to really sell, BigCommerce or Shopify. If you have a developer and really looking to build a 50+M business or have something very robust, Magento. ______________________________________________ What do you think about this episode? This week we had the pleasure of interviewing Rochelle Friedman Walk Esq. She is the president and owner of the successful Walk Law Firm, PA in Tampa, Florida. Rochelle started her career at a major Cleveland law firm and then moved on to become in-house attorney for large corporations. As general counsel she helped companies reorganize, turn around and succeed in business. Rochelle was in a unique position because she was on the purchasing side of legal services. This gave her a great insight into what companies are looking for when hiring outside counsel. How do businesses want to work with lawyers? In Rochelle’s experience business people are buying based on value. The first question they ask is “how much will it cost, and what am I getting for my money?” Building on her experience from the business community, Rochelle made the decision to price her legal services based on the value she provides. Clients responded positively to the flat fee arrangements. Flat fee pricing is more complicated than one might think. A lot of effort goes into assessing the scope of the project before a price is given. Rochelle takes the time to assess the scope of the projects and to write very detailed engagement letters. Great SEO and outstanding resume pages are a vital part of acquiring new clients. The Walk Law Firm works with clients from all over the world, so being visible online is a major source of new business. Tips about work-life balance: “Hire a wonderful assistant and invest in virtual systems that are safe and accessible from anywhere.” Business advice: “Put yourself out there and define what you do well. Do writing and speaking engagements. Pick something that you are passionate about and get engaged in your community.”
I honestly have no better way to set up this conversation with Wil than to tease you with some quotes: “Clients will judge you on what you do the weakest not the strongest.” “Great SEO is caring about people over penguin and audiences over algorithms.” “The SEO industry has set up clients to ask for […] The post 025: Wil Reynolds on Audiences vs Algorithms & People vs Positions appeared first on Evolving SEO.
