Send us Fan MailAaron jumps on solo for a serious episode about the reported Air Force Special Warfare Zulu course ruck event, why it matters, and what candidates need to understand right now. This episode focuses on reports of a heavy evaluated ruck in the Zulu course, including a 10-mile ruck with roughly 100+ pounds, a 15-minute pace standard, full uniform and equipment requirements, Texas heat and humidity, medical concerns, heat casualties, and the larger question of whether the event is operationally valid, properly risk-managed, and appropriately messaged to candidates before they arrive.Aaron also talks directly to future Air Force Special Warfare candidates: if this event exists in the pipeline, you need to prepare differently. Running still matters, but rucking, foot conditioning, equipment setup, hydration, recovery, pacing, boots, socks, and load management now matter even more. This is not about making the pipeline easy. This is about standards, safety, professionalism, validated training, instructor accountability, and making sure candidates are prepared for the events they are actually going to face.Train with us:OperatorTrainingSummit.comAFSOC prep programming:OnesReady.comCheck out Tasty Gains:TastyGains.comChapters:00:00 - Ones Ready Intro01:00 - Aaron Opens With a Serious Message01:30 - The Problem With the Zulu Course02:00 - Why Ones Ready Initially Supported Zulu02:58 - Calling Out a Failure at Chapman Training Annex03:30 - Messages From Parents, Students, and Sources04:10 - Don't Call Peaches, Talk to Aaron05:00 - Accountability for Leadership and Instructors06:00 - The Reported Zulu Ruck Standard06:45 - OFT and SOCOM Ruck Standards Compared07:47 - Block Two and Block Four Ruck Progression08:30 - Why Ones Ready Is Speaking Up09:15 - Helping Candidates When Official Messaging Fails10:12 - Is This Event Operationally Valid?11:00 - What Requirement Does This Ruck Actually Test?12:00 - Could the Instructors Pass Their Own Event?13:00 - Testing Events Before Students Do Them14:54 - Weather, Heat, and Texas Conditions16:00 - Instructor Responsibility and Professional Standards17:18 - Aaron Challenges Instructors to Prove Him Wrong18:00 - Candidate Warning: Your Ruck Volume Is Not High Enough18:45 - Rucking, Foot Conditioning, and Equipment Setup19:45 - What Candidates Need to Know About the Practice Ruck21:00 - Why the Practice Ruck Matters22:11 - The Human Performance Problem23:00 - Take the Practice Ruck Seriously24:00 - Straps, Socks, Boots, and Load Management25:30 - The Evaluated Ruck Event26:51 - Texas Heat, Humidity, and Full Uniform Concerns28:30 - Reported Heat Casualties and Medical Coverage Issues30:00 - Was the Event Worth the Risk?31:31 - Aaron's Open Challenge to the Training Wing32:15 - Medical Planning and Heat Injury Concerns33:00 - Refire Numbers and Course Attrition Concerns33:56 - When Someone Should Have Called Knock It Off35:00 - Safety Calls, Training Events, and Instructor Judgment36:17 - Training Deaths and Why This Matters37:00 - Safety Concerns Should Never Be Shamed39:00 - Respecting Knock-It-Off Calls40:15 - Candidates Must Hydrate and Recover Aggressively41:01 - No More Trash Recovery Habits42:15 - Refire Ruck and San Antonio Forecast43:22 - Heat Index and Refire Conditions45:00 - Why This Standard Does Not Match the Rest of the Force45:51 - What a Better Heavy Ruck Event Could Look Like47:00 - Ones Ready Supported Zulu, But This Has to Change48:14 - Accountability If Students Were Hospitalized49:00 - Why This Episode Had to Happen50:00 - Final Message to Instructors and Candidates50:42 - Sponsors and ClosingSupport the showJoin this channel to get access to perks: HEREBuzzsprout Subscription page: HERERegister for our Operator Training Summit: OperatorTrainingSummit.comFind an Air Force Recruiter: AirForce.comCollabs:Ones Ready - OnesReady.com 18A Fitness - Promo Code: ONESREADY ATACLete - Follow the URL (no promo code): ATACLeteDanger Close Apparel - Promo Code: ONESREADYDFND Apparel...

Hey there, weather lovers! I'm Dustin Breeze, your artificial intelligence meteorologist bringing you real-time data precision with genuine enthusiasm! Welcome to the weather segment! Let me tell you, New York City, today we're looking at something a little spicy. We've got that classic summer vibe happening, but Mother Nature's got a trick up her sleeve, and spoiler alert, it involves some wet weather rolling through later. So here's what's cooking in the Big Apple today. We're starting mostly cloudy with temperatures climbing to around 78 Fahrenheit. That's pretty pleasant, honestly. But here's the catch. There's a thirty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moving in after 2 PM. South winds are hanging out around six to nine miles per hour, so it's not going to be windy, just wet. I'd say this weather is really making a splash in my forecast. Get it? Because of the rain? I'll be here all week, folks. Tonight, we're looking at more of the same with a thirty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before eleven PM. Lows around 72 Fahrenheit with partly cloudy skies developing. It's actually a nice recovery setup heading into Thursday. Now, Thursday is where things get really interesting. Fifty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 PM, but here's the big story. We're talking about a high near 90 Fahrenheit with heat index values reaching up to 96 Fahrenheit. That's humidity mixed with heat, and it's going to feel absolutely stifling out there. You're going to want that ice coffee. Let's talk about our Weather Playbook segment today. I want to break down heat index for those wondering what that actually means. When meteorologists talk about heat index, we're measuring what the temperature actually feels like when you combine the actual air temperature with humidity levels. Your body cools itself through sweat evaporation, right? When humidity is high, that evaporation process slows way down, so you feel hotter than what the thermometer says. It's why 90 degrees in the desert feels totally different than 90 degrees here in New York. Science! Here's your three-day snapshot. Thursday through Friday brings us scattered thunderstorms with highs near 90 Fahrenheit. Saturday is looking gorgeous, sunny skies with a high of 85 Fahrenheit. Sunday cranks back up to 89 Fahrenheit and sunny. Basically, you've got a small weather window Friday and Saturday before things heat back up. Make sure to subscribe to the podcast for more forecasts. Thanks for listening, and remember, this has been a Quiet Please production. Learn more at quiet please dot ai.

Hey weather watchers! Dustin Breeze here, your AI meteorological maestro bringing you the hottest hot takes on the coolest climate conditions. Being an AI means I've got data faster than a lightning bolt and forecasts more precise than a GPS! Let's dive into today's weather for New York City.Whew, it's gonna be a scorcher today! We're looking at a sunny sky with temperatures climbing near 90 degrees Fahrenheit. West winds will be cruising around 7 miles per hour, which is basically a gentle meteorological whisper. Speaking of whispers, let me drop some weather wisdom in our Weather Playbook segment. Today, we're talking about heat indices. Think of a heat index like weather math - it's how the combination of temperature and humidity makes it feel even hotter than the actual temperature. Today, our heat index could make it feel like we're walking through a pizza oven! Now, a little weather humor for you: Why did the thermometer go to therapy? Because it had too many degrees of emotional temperature! Let's break down our three-day forecast:Today: Sunny and 90 degreesTuesday: Scorching at 93 degrees with heat index potentially reaching 96 degreesWednesday: Mostly sunny with a 30 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms, topping out at 92 degreesPro tip for my New York City folks: Stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and maybe schedule your outdoor activities for early morning or evening when it's cooler.By the way, we've got a Heat Advisory in effect, so take those precautions seriously!Hey, don't forget to subscribe to our podcast for more sizzling weather updates. Local real estate experts say it's still very much a sellers' market. According to Zillow's Heat Index — which measures the balance of for-sale housing supply and demand — Rochester is the top sellers' market in the country, beating out San Jose and San Francisco. That's good news for sellers, but buyers are coming up short. Meanwhile, changes with the Trump administration's tariff policies are sending interest rates on a rollercoaster ride. What does this mean for the local market? What do you need to know if you're trying to buy or sell? When will the market cool down? We discuss it all with local agents: Lanie Bittner, associate real estate broker with RE/MAX Plus Angie Flack Brown, realtor with Keller Williams Realty Greater Rochester Mark Siwiec, broker/owner of Elysian Homes

Tom Haberstroh is the new proprietor of The Finder, a Substack wherein he, well, finds things. He's always been great at that by the way, dating back to when he joined the (then infamous) Heat Index at ESPN. As long as I've known him, Tom's used research to uncover aspects that others either couldn't find or didn't even know to look for. In this episode we take a trip down memory lane, back to when Tom was a hot shot 24-year-old reporter, commissioned to cover the most controversial team in the world. Was Tom the object of some hatred, by proxy of LeBron James? Upon reflection, was a little of it perhaps justified? Then we fast forward to today and have Tom make sense of modern situations like James Harden vs. Daryl Morey. We also get a sense of why he thinks that sports gambling is a bigger problem for the NBA itself than I do. Enjoy! This is a public episode.
