Steve Matthews is the Head of Scripted, Creative, at Banijay Entertainment, where he plays a pivotal role in the group's production development process, leading on creative initiatives for original drama projects. Before joining Banijay Entertainment, Matthews was VP and Executive Producer, Scripted, at HBO Europe, having joined the business back in 2014. In that post, he partnered with local teams across Central Europe, Spain and Nordics, to spearhead the development of original series, miniseries, and international adaptations. His portfolio included Pustina, Umbre, Blinded By The Lights, Uspjeh, The Sleepers, Foodie Love, Gösta; and from Banijay Entertainment's footprint specifically, 30 Coins (Pokeepsie), Beforeigners (Rubicon), and Beartown (Filmlance). Additionally, Matthews is dedicated to mentoring talent, and set up Banijay Bootcamp, a specific programme for scripted creatives. Before joining Germany's distribution and production house Beta Film GmbH as International Creative Executive & Content Editor, Anna Rohde studied dramaturgy, philosophy, and literature at Munich's Theatre Academy and at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich. Before her studies, she worked as assistant director in many national and international TV and feature films. She is member of Germany's VeDRA (Verband für Film- und Fernsehdramaturgie e.V.), jury member of e.g. the International Emmy's semi-finals, the Council of Europe Eurimages development award and – among others - mentor of SFF's (Sarajevo Film Festival) CineLink workshop, the post-graduate Serial Eyes writing program. Paul Telegdy has worked across all genres of content, on brands as diverse as Top Gear, Teletubbies, Dr Who, The Voice and Planet Earth, to name a handful. Paul worked at NBCUniversal for 12 years, becoming Chairman of NBC in 2019, before that the BBC for ten years. In 2021, Paul co-founded The Whole Spiel, a media, entertainment, and gaming company based in Berlin and Los Angeles. With a degree in Korean and Japanese, and having lived in Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Japan, The US and the UK, Paul has a distinctly global view of content and opportunity. Daarover praten Joe van Burik en Ben van der Burg in deze aflevering van BNR Digitaal. IX krijgt nu al een investering van  2,4 miljoen euro vanuit het Regionaal Investeringsfonds mbo. Die gaat naar OASIS, een nationaal consortium van 22 instanties in media en entertainment, waaronder NEP en ITV Studios, én zes grote mbo's. Waar liggen de kansen om concreet stappen te maken in de wereld van Immersive Experiences? Wat betekent dat voor de ontwikkeling van VR- en AR-toepassingen, die vooral voor consumenten toch al lange tijd een niche zijn? We vragen het aan Rufus Baas, programmadirecteur van OASIS, en Lindy Damen, maakster van duurzame ‘ervaringen' bij EVRgreen Studio. Prime Video De Nederlandse streamingmarkt is behoorlijk vol. Met grote spelers als Netflix, HBO, Disney+ en Videoland is het vechten om marktaandeel. Hoe is het nog mogelijk om je echt te onderscheiden op deze markt? En welke rol spelen Nederlandse producties? Sinds 2023 is het voor grote streamers verplicht om 5% van hun Nederlandse jaaromzet te investeren in producties van eigen bodem. Dat werpt inmiddels al zijn vruchten af. Series als Undercover en de documentaires over Lil' Kleine en Team Jumbo Visma zijn enkele voorbeelden van producties die voortkomen uit deze maatregel. Waar loopt de Nederlandse markt voor warm? Lars graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1995 and produced a number of films including Danish Olsen Gang – Final Mission, Swedish Gullbagga winner Jan Troell's As White as in Snow and British Vinnie Jones-starrer Johnny Was. Before joining DR, he also served as head of development at the Danish Film Institute, head of international co-productions for Nordisk Film, and CEO of regional fund FilmFyn, the Copenhagen Film Festivals, and Nordisk Film Post Post Production. Prior to co-founding Asacha Media Group, Marina Williams was COO of International Operations at Endemol Shine Group (2015-2019), overseeing the company's international growth across multiple territories . Before the merger with Shine Group, Williams led Endemol's operations across Central and Eastern Europe and Middle East as regional CEO. (2008-2015). She was previously Executive Vice President and a member of the Management Board of Central European Media Enterprises (CME) managing leading FTA and Pay TV networks across six territories and establishing local production. Before joining CME, Williams played leading roles in launching and overseeing businesses in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey for Fox International Channels, Fox Kids and Turner International Channels. Guy Bisson has been a leading entertainment market analyst with a specialisation in the global television business for the past 30 years. He is a regular speaker and moderator at many of the world's leading entertainment business conferences, a frequent media commentator in print and broadcast and author of numerous reports and research articles on the business and strategy of the global television industry. Guy is co-founder of Ampere Analysis a London-based analyst house focused on the entertainment and content business, which draws on title-level movie and TV analysis, consumer research and market forecasting to create a holistic outlook for the future of the industry. Guy previously led the television research practice at both Screen Digest and IHS. The host Stewart Clarke is SVP, Content, International at Deadline, representing the brand at Festivals and industry events, and writing news and features for the website. He joined Deadline in late 2023 after a four-year stint as Creative Director at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the largest event of its kind in the UK. "I, as a black person, also have a real empathy with what Jewish staff members are going through....... If you are a Jew working at the BBC or a Jewish person in the UK, when you see those scenes from Gaza—the dreadful, horrific things that Hamas did, and I have no problems calling that a terrorist attack—I can understand why a Jewish person will see those things in a very different way. 'Jaala Webster.'  Truth be told Jaala is usually locked away working on shows like 'I'm a Celeb,' 'The Voice' and 'Love Island Australia.' Especially at the times I usually feature these shows.  It made sense to record this episode in the non ratings and this will be my last episode of the summer series before I am back fully on deck for 2023.  Jaala and I met when I was in 'Big Brother' through an unusual circumstance - as she produced and voiced a side show of that series called 'Little Sister.' Which allowed audiences to get to know heir favourite housemates a little bit more . Of course I was a housemate and she was the voice of the title roll but there was something extraordinary magical about the impact she had on the housemates and the you as an audience.  We will go behind the scenes on all the shows that has made Jaala the superstar we know today and I am sure you will love her insights and stories. This amplifies brand advocacy and appreciation for the brands in ways that extend beyond the television screen. When guests visit a Ninja Warrior park, they get to test their physical strength and feel like they are on the show themselves. Fergus also talks about the importance of technology, and the importance of slicing and dicing data across multiple locations that help them better understand guest behaviors. He also stresses that when guests are booking times to visit, the process should be such a seamless experience that they don't even think about the platform that they used to book.

1960s TV puppet sensation ‘Thunderbirds' is coming back..and heading straight for digital.   The classic Gerry Anderson creation is now owned by ITV Studios, who've announced a partnership with a gaming platform due to launch this summer.   Thunderbirds International Rescue Club is gearing up for launch and promises immersive ‘Metaverse' experiences, an online game, digital collectibles including NFTs and more.   Despite the enduring popularity of the characters, I'm not sure the traditional Thunderbirds fans are likely to embrace the new technology - but given the series is actually set in the 2060s then I can see why they're giving it a go.     Fake profiles on Twitter could be set to scupper Elon Musk's proposed takeover deal.   He's pushing for more information about fake accounts and bots on the platform - Twitter insists around 5% of accounts are fake, Musk has questioned the figure.   I can't see this deal going through.     And could Artificial Intelligence help reduce the time we spend in traffic jams?   Researchers from Aston University have created a system that scans live video footage and adjusts the lights to compensate, to keep traffic moving.   Inadequate traffic signalling is a major cause of congestion and in tests, the researchers say this new system worked better than anything else.

In his thirties Remy was diagnosed with a life threatening illness, from which he recovered. This brought him an awareness that a human life-span of 83 years is only 1000 months. It also prompted him to follow his calling as a coach and mentor. He specialises in sectors fuelled by innovation and creativity, including Arts and Culture, media, television, film, fashion and advertising. His clients include directors of national arts organizations, worldwide ad agencies and a wide range of entrepreneurs. His specialty is helping founders to build, grow and sell in an uncertain and crowded market. Before training as coach, Remy launched his first TV Production company out of his bedroom and sold it eight years later to the world's largest production company. He has served the board of Endemol UK and later the board of ITV Studios where he was director of Formats. Remy has been a special advisor to TF1, France's leading commercial broadcaster. He has led creative forums for Cap Gemini University in Les Fontaines and has worked with the London Business School on their programme for Entrepreneurs.
