Everett, played by Dermot Mulroney, is bringing his uptight girlfriend Meredith played by Sarah Jessica Parker home to meet his family. But there are secrets and scandals afoot. In this episode we explain how to diffuse a tense situation by grabbing someones Ta Ta, wonder if anyone would want a reunion with the person that popped their cherry and marvel at the fact that Corinne's voice has gone '2 packs a day' husky. This movie is an adventure and we hope you join us for the ride that is The Family Stone.

In this episode we talk about: - The style of a story that puts the audience in touch with the feelings of a character - If you don't know what you have done wrong than everything comes to mind and it is paralyzing and demoralizing - Bureaucracy as modern tyranny - The importance of trust in society - The bullet or the knife are never relative - Jostling and career maneuvering as the primary reason for people in these industries, not the betterment of the people they are "helping" - Irrelevancy is the bureaucrats kryptonite; and they will do anyting to avoid that - Why even have options? Tuesday is primary day in New Hampshire. Voters are casting ballots as Democratic presidential hopefuls seek momentum. In the wake of Iowa, what can we expect as the polls close Tuesday evening? "New Hampshire voters were casting ballots Tuesday in the second contest in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, with US Senator Bernie Sanders and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg jostling to remain atop a crowded field after strong performances last week in Iowa," Reuters reported Tuesday. “Jostling to remain atop a crowded field”? According to Real Clear Politics poll aggregation, Sanders is up 7.4% and has been for a few days. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren don't even break 12%. How is that "jostling"? The field is still a crowded, though. Is this still a good thing in terms of issue articulation, or does this damage the candidates in the long run?Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg has launched an ad campaign aimed at African-American voters in which he poses with former US President Barack Obama in various pictures of them working hard together. How will this play in the African-American community as people remember his staunch defense of the racist stop-and-frisk campaign in NYC? Bloomberg is now having to answer after audio emerged of him giving a full-throated defense of the policy in 2015. “Ninety-five percent of murders — murderers and murder victims — fit one M.O. You can just take a description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all the cops. They are male, minorities, 16-25. That's true in New York, that's true in virtually every city … And that's where the real crime is.”"MSNBC's Chuck Todd Under Fire for Reciting Quote Comparing Sanders Supporters to Nazis," reads a Tuesday headline in Common Dreams. This comes after Todd's fellow MSNBC host Chris Matthews went on a wild rant connecting a Sanders win with public executions. Common Dreams reported that Todd "faced swift backlash Monday for approvingly quoting a right-wing columnist who described online supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is vying to become the first Jewish president in US history, as a 'digital brownshirt brigade.'" The anchor said, "Hey I want to bring up something that Jonathan Last put in The Bulwark today. It was about how — and Ruth, we've all been on the receiving end of the Bernie online brigade — here's what he says: He says 'no other candidate has anything like this sort of digital brownshirt brigade. I mean, except for Donald Trump.'" Is the latest example of hyperbolic opinion masquerading as journalism?GUESTS:David Schultz — Professor of political science at Hamline University. Mark 9:30-41 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know, for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him. And they came to Capernaum. And when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?” But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” And he took a child and put him in the midst of them, and taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me.” John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. For the one who is not against us is for us. For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose his reward.

Joey asks the group to reflect on the physicality of young children's interactions in a group setting. How does one's perspective--child, teacher, parent--shape the interpretation of children's bumps and pushes? Who is in the "right" and who is in the "wrong"?  Could these day to day infractions present opportunities for children's reflection and growth?

Hi all,So, this really feels like the season is up and going now with the first guest interview upon us.First off though, thanks so much for the great feedback for the intro episode. I really wanted to get a few updates out on all that’s being going on in pre-season. And for those that have listened in last year and have seen things develop and grow, I hope you got something from the plans for the next stage of the journey. If you didn’t get to check out EP1, go back and have a listen! And please do check out the Support page on the site where I have links to the Pro Bono coaching offering, Patreon (where you can support the show) and the Amazon affiliates link.Ok, on to this weeks guest. It’s fitting that I’m releasing this rugby themed episode in the aftermath of the Irish rugby teams grand slam success (well done guys) as I am delighted to introduce Jonathan (Jonny) Holland.Jonny is a retired Irish rugby who was making a serious impression with the Munster Rugby team in Ireland (that is a province in Ireland for those outside of the country ) before having to retire prematurely at the very young age of 25.  Since then, Jonny has turned his focus to nutrition and wellness and is starting to build up a successful career in this space.  As you’ll hear he’s applying the same focus, meticulous attention to detail and preparation to this new venture as he did in his playing career. This was the first episode I’ve recorded for season two. Back in early January. It was a lot of fun hearing how Jonny story. It’s really only the first couple of chapters as he’s a lot of success ahead of him I’m very sure. Please do hang on till the end of the episode so you can hear other updates. The conversation is wide ranging. Just some of the topics covered include:Health and WellnessEarliest Memory – kicking a soccer ballHaving an interest in soccer and rugby from an early ageRugby becoming his primary sport and focus but developing this in parallel to this career in universityTony Mulcachy being one influencer and mentor for Johnny in his early stage.Jostling positions between 10 and 12 and then landing on the number 10 position as he moved into College.Gary Byrne and Ian Costello both helping Jonny in his early careerPracticing and finding a good technique that worked for him as he developedThe Mental Game behind kicking and examples of getting into flow.Having the mantra of ‘not missing two in a row’ and this helped him massivelyWorking on positivity and battling the voice inside the head changing to ‘you always get the next one’Considering his rise as a ‘slow burner’ rather than an overnight success as he broke into the Munster team – growing into the roleSacrifices during university as he had laser focus on preparation for gamesHaving an obsession with the Process & PreparationHaving a desire for control and being focused on thisSuperstition v the Process & ControlFull Debut for Munster and how it felt surrealStarting games being easier than coming off the benchDealing with Pre-match nerves and seeing the difference between nerves v fearReally enjoying a challenge in a game to get the anxiety out of the wayDescribing his first injury that put him out for over a year which was his hamstring off the bone, which was described as one of the most injury you can get!Dealing with the rehabilitation and having the strong and focused mindset worked to his advantage – citing this period as one where he grew as a person and professionalTaking positives from the period out – seeing it as a massive opportunity to become a man – working on his areas for developmentDealing with the realization that a full recovery from the injury wasn’t possible which lead to officially retiring in late 2016Identity & how to reinvent your personaSupport and Advice from others over the last period – one with Donnacha Ryan jumping out as oneRealising that he had to find his own path and get over it his own way – using this mental strength and focusRe-focusing on Nutrition which was something Jonny always had a big focus on as he was growing and developing – building himself up from being a smaller guy to a bigger guyDeveloping his nutritional practice and being passionate about this areaPancakes and Ice-cream before the gameThe 1% Better Questionnaire Round: (43:20):Time & Productivity Management ApproachesBatch Cooking & Multitasking while CookingWork-life BalanceDaily routinesEating Meals at times during the daySleep Patterns and Connections to Food & NutritionAdvice that he takes on board and gives to othersCore Values that Johnny adheres toSuccess, Goals and Future AspirationsYou can connect in with Jonny on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook all on at @JonnyHolland10Website: www.jonnyholland10.comJust a quick note to say thanks for listening. Lauren Oliver, the New York Times bestselling author of the Delirium trilogy, Before I Fall, and Panic, discusses her new novel ROOMS with @HarperAudio_US producer Caitlin Garing. This episode also includes an excerpt from the audio edition which is performed by Orlagh Cassidy, Barbara Caruso, Elizabeth Evans, Noah Galvin, and Cynthia Darlow. ABOUT ROOMS After a number of highly acclaimed New York Times bestsellers, including the Delirium trilogy and the standalone novels Before I Fall and Panic, Lauren Oliver returns with a spellbinding tale that confirms her place as one of our finest storytellers. Fueled by the same inspired feel for plot and character that drew readers to Oliver's earlier works, Rooms is a mesmerizing and suspenseful story of guilt, love, and family secrets. Estranged patriarch Richard Walker has died, leaving behind a country house full of rooms packed with the detritus of a lifetime. His alienated family—bitter ex-wife Caroline, troubled teenage son Trenton, and unforgiving daughter Minna—have arrived for their inheritance. But the Walkers are not alone. Alice and Sandra, two long-dead and restless ghosts, linger within the house's claustrophobic walls, bound eternally to its physical structure. Jostling for space and memory, they observe the family, trading barbs and reminiscences about their past lives. Though their voices cannot be heard, Alice and Sandra speak through the house itself—in the hiss of the radiator, a creak in the stairs, the dimming of a lightbulb. The living and dead are haunted by painful truths that surface with explosive force. When a new ghost appears, and Trenton begins to communicate with her, the spirit and human worlds collide—with cataclysmic results. Elegantly constructed and brilliantly paced, Rooms is an enticing and imaginative ghost story and a searing family drama that is as haunting as it is resonant.

What use is an F-call? When you operate your station on a regular basis you might find yourself lulled into the belief that all is well with the world and that your station will continue to operate as expected. It worked yesterday, so why wouldn't it work today - nothing changed. Having now operated my station for several years and having been granted the opportunity to operate stations built and maintained by others I can categorically state that nothing stays the same, ever. In fact, it's probably better to work on the assumption that your station is changing all the time, that it's different than it was yesterday and even different than it was an hour ago. This variation is the result of a number of things that affect the operation of your station. The weather is an obvious influence. Antennas are subject to the wind, the rain and the sun, not to mention lightning and atmospheric ionisation. But the weather is not the only variable. Power supplies are fed by the grid which fluctuates, power supplies heat up and cool down, so does your radio, the connectors that connect the coax to your radio and the like. If you have an amplifier, it too heats up and cools down. Contraction and expansion slowly doing their physics to trip you up. Jostling a connector, or a coax might disconnect something that has been connected for years, or doing a test, plugging an antenna into another radio, might just be the straw that broke the camel's back. My point is that even in a so-called static environment, things change, all the time. If you pick up your radio and go mobile with it, you're used to things being in different places, wear and tear and the like, but in your home station, you might not find such things nearly as easily. So, pay attention to what your radio is saying, watch the SWR, the power, the voltage, use the meters that are there to tell you that something is wrong. One day it will make the difference between a quick fix and a $1000 repair. Just because it's working right now, doesn't mean it will be the next time you key the mike. I'm Onno VK6FLAB
